filcast:Weak cylinders, i guess. Ikenna |
auhanson:Lol! Ikenna |
slinkky:Check if the sensor mounted on top of the coolant expansion container is still connected, connector corroded or connector well plug in. Otherwise, the sensor would be the suspect. Ikenna |
auhanson:Yes, the oil is that good. Ikenna |
AutosBay:Honestly, I cant make any sense from the above comment. Which post from Op mentioned the 406 he was interested in had "Head Gasket Issue" ![]() About your comparison with modern Peugeots and Modern Korean cars? Seriously? Is that what "THEY"told you or what you "THINK"? Ikenna |
derickivben:My phone number is on my signature. But here it is anyway: 08052811236. |
dralapomeji:Congrats! Welcome to the family. Just make sure you sharpen your claws everything, so that the world sees the mark each time take her out there. Have you gotten your Peugeot starter pack? Its an important tool for new Lion owners, to help them understand the do's and donts of Lions, if you really want her to remain faithful to you, while you enjoy her. gambus007:EW10 engine is one of the best engines Peugeot ever produced, to the point that they mounted it on their Lions for more than a decade as they produce newer ones. Even the current brand Lion, 408, has the EW10 engine, though a revised one (EW10A+). I would prefer an EW10 engine in 307 than TU engine, which most 307 come with. Electricals of Lions depends on how you treat them. If you abuse your Lions electrical, it will deal with you mercilessly. Lions are not for those that lack good maintenance culture or those who dont value what they have. If you treat a Lion like a Queen, she will treat you like a King. No joke! My 2 Lions are V6 and I enjoy every minute i spend in them. Its hard sometimes to pick the one to use for a week. Each sets smiles on my face, each time i gear them into action. Simply put, they are Cars! With Attitude! Meanwhile, you need the Peugeot starter pack/DVD to understand more about Lions and how to keep her in good shape when you finally get one. victor08:I am not sure you are my friend because I don't find time to hang out with people with such mindset like yours anymore; people that are so negative that they either keep pulling me down or add nothing positive into my life. But let me give you some personal development tips for free, since you want to be my friend. If you see a problem as a problem, then it becomes negative. But if you see a problem as an opportunity to grow and become bigger than what you are, then it becomes positive. Just like Jim Rohn once said, "Don't wish for less problems. Rather wish for more wisdom. Don't wish for less challenge, wish for more skills. Accept a challenge, because you can't grow without one". My point is, if you see a car as a liability, it becomes a problem for you. But if you see it as an asset, then it changes your life for the better by opening more doors for greater things in life, and most importantly, prosperity and peace. Most people see their smart phones as liabilities that eat deep into their earnings by subscribing internet. But some see theirs as big enterprise, by transforming them to asset and make fortune out of it. Everything around you is an asset if you want to see it that way. It's all about "Mindset". The rich becomes richer because of the way they think, not because of what they have. The moment you become a car owner, your levels have changed. What you choose to do with that level to become bigger than where/what you are, is left for you. I know what I was earning when I acquired my first car. Now how many cars have I owned since then? How many do I currently own? How many do i still want to add? Just like Earl Nightingale said, "We become what we think about". Where or what you are today is exactly where and what you want to be, whether you want to admit that or not. Energy flows where your focus goes. Your mind is the greatest asset on Earth. But people take it for granted because its free. After all, we place more value on what we spend money to acquire. Be careful what goes through your mind. Thinking negative about yourself or what you have or what you believe you can't have will kill your future. Finally. Don't Miss Anything! Life is too short to live predictable miserable life. Get out of that comfort zone, take up challenges, grow and become bigger than your problems. But to do that, you have to change that your mental blueprint. When you do, you can then become my friend and we can hang out and have some 1759 together someplace. Op, Tell your friend to go ahead and buy the car if that's what he wish to have. He is on his way to prosperity. Ikenna |
victor08:Honestly, You need a serious personal development course for mindset shift. Because such your mindset could not only lead one to frustrated life, but depression and suicide. That's a quiet desperate frustrated life! Ikenna |
enjay1:You can replace the valves or replace the cylinder head. It depends on your pocket. You really need to get the Peugeot maintenace DVD i produced. It will help you a lot to prevent further similar breakdown in your Lion. Find the DVD details below: https://www.nairaland.com/1942595/dvd-how-prevent-breakdown-expensive Ikenna |
Available. Ikenna |
pragmatistm:Jesus said he didn't come for the righteous, but for those that need salvation. Notwithstanding, if you go back and read that my post again deeply, you would see it touched on both negative and positive comments. A colleague owns Volvo XC90. He loves it so much. This colleague of mine owns Brand new Kia Sportage as well. But he prefers driving the XC90. He told me the other day that he prefer doing trips with the XC90 than the New Sportage, due to impressive road handling of the XC90 compared to the Sportage. I have experienced the wonderful fuel efficiency of the vehicle. I have sat and been driven in his XC90 and have seen how good it could be. I have diagnosed the Vehicle for him onetime for an injection issue and it was very simple. The culprit was MAF sensor. Very simple to troubleshoot. So I am finding it difficult here to understand some comments on modern Volvos, those emphasising they are not good. "Volvo cars are fuel guzzlers", they had said. But when you ask them why they said so, they would likely tell you because Toyota Camry 2007 model consumes less than Volvo 240 or 740 of the '80s. It has always been, "they said, we heard, could be, etc". No first hand experience or comparison that make sense. The crowd goes with hearsay. It has always been. Like I said, if you had read that my post deeply, you would have seen the hand writing on the wall. Ikenna |
It seems the perfect place to act Zombie movies is in Nigeria, forgive me to say it. Because there wont be need for scripts. At least, Sheep don't follow crowd. They follow their shepherds voice. But here, anywhere the crowd put head, everyone faces that direction. Most posts I read here, if I would say, very unfortunate. Days were gone when I used to blame mechanics. But now, I blame the car owners. Volvo cars are fuel guzzlers indeed! Ikenna |
AsSabirin:Your engine is TU5 JP4, metted to AL4 auto transmission, 2007 model. Anyway, the engine cost about 100k. So, your mechanic was right about the price. Ikenna |
Flyer is out. https://i1366.photobucket.com/albums/r770/Ikenna4351/ANOTHERONE2_zpsd25e91af.jpg Edited: Price is now N1,000. Ikenna |
GAZZUZZ:Yes, the ES9J4S with BVM5 tranny does that effortlessly. I am a living testimony. Engines and transmissions differ. There are Lions you cant do that with. What is wrong is skipping gears. Remember, Peugeot 406 V6 stick (D9) with ES9J4S all have DMF. Leaving all those loads on the clutch when you skip gears could kill the DMF overtime. And trust me, DMF is not something one would want want to joke with. Because if it fails. Hmmm! Ikenna |
It's wrong to skip gears for stick cars. First, it will tell adversely on fuel consumption. Just like some would move from standstill with gear 2. No wonder why people have clutch failure every now and then and complain manual gearboxes sucks. Ikenna |
erico2k2:Which study? ![]() Ikenna |
San2ski:My current 2 Lions are all V6 stick. In fact, 3 stick V6 Lions so far. Ikenna |
king406:307 Phase II, 5-Door Saloon, TU5 JP4 engine, 1.6 L, 110 hp, 5-speed manual, Ash Grey body colour, LHD, etc. If you want the full details, text or mail me your email address to forward it. Ikenna |
Popoolaoladayo:Yes, a new BSI unit can be programmed to work with your Engine ECU. Brand new BSI unit for 406 cost about 80k. Ikenna |
AsSabirin:What engine is it? If you don't know, send the VIN to confirm the engine for you. Ikenna |
Onyx79, No matter how you don't want to hear it, the dealership is not far from the truth. You are using the transmission wrongly. Our problem is we always think we know how to drive this things and use them, hence, no one bothers to get or read their owners Owners manual after acquisition. Its likely it was stated clearly in that manual what the dealership told you. Most owners manual I have come across will tell you not to leave Auto tranny in Drive in traffic jam for certain amount of time. But we don't do adhere to all these instructions because we sabi everything. Heat is a main killer of Auto transmission, ford or Honda, it leaves no mercy. The early EFI systems would not protect the engine or the system when something big fails, hence, people continue to drive such cars in those conditions until it kills the engine, transmissions or cause major breakdown or repair. But on recent EFI vehicles, they have been programmed to go into limp home mode to protect the vehicle when certain sensitive EFI or transmission systems fail and force you to fix the issue. Likewise, early EFI had no system check on catalytic converters, hence, people continue to pollute the environment even when their catalytic converters fail. But with Euro IV & V emission systems on Peugeots, once the monitoring sensor of the caty fails, the car will automatically becomes sluggish on acceleration. To force you to replace the failed downstream sensor that monitors the caty, so that it continue to monitor and warn you when the caty is in bad shape, to prevent polluting the environment. If I would understand what you said, Ford introduced a system to protect the Ford Auto tranny from breaking down, when owners refuse to drive their cars properly. "Transmission overheating" could simply means a warning to reduce stress on transmission when not in use. Do you actually know what goes on in transmission when you leave it on drive and hold the car with brake? Why do you think peoples Auto trannys fail even when they religiously renew their transmissions ATF with recommended fluid? Open, read and study the owners manual the car came with a,d understand how to operate the car, if you wish long lifespan for the car. You could be right, but the dealership was not wrong either, as far reason they gave you was concerned. Ikenna |
oba009:Hmmm! Where do i even start. The truth is, I am very hungry right now. So i will need to fill that stomach with an Elephant before I could proceed. Hope you know Elephant is our Lunch? Find out here:https://www.nairaland.com/1832246/camry-big-daddy-peuguot-406 Anyway, 407 is a successor of 406, an improvement. 406 & 407 both share the same engines. As for transmissions, Aisin AM6 & BVA was added, including the BVM6 in 407 which 406 dont have. Peculiar issues with 407: 407 have 2 Ball joints (upper & lower) on each wheel unlike 406 with one each. The lower ball joint on 407 do fail, which you wont experience in 406, which you will likely not experience in 406. Note that 407 ball joint does not pull out like the other brand that is notorious with ball joint issues. The worst it does it shake the whole front end at every pothole you jump. I have never seen one in Abuja that pulled out. You live in Abuja too, so can tell. Since the symptom is very pronounce once it fails, you will know when to replace them. Or you simply replace them periodically. Notwithstanding, it appears the series II was corrected of that issue, which seems to be the wheel hub positionig or design. Aside the Ball joint issue, 407 has no other peculiar issue. But of course its newer than 406, so body parts or other parts it doesnt share with 406 cost more. See, I have treated these things already in a DVD i produced recently on Peugeot cars. Since you are in Abuja, why not come and pick yours? Its just N500. You will find out that after watching the DVD, you will have most your questions answered. YOu can easily reach me on my mobile phone if you want to get yours. Find below a thread i opened on the DVD: https://www.nairaland.com/1942595/dvd-how-prevent-breakdown-expensive Also, you need to join the WhatsApp Lions community to learn more about Lions from Lions and Lionesses in the house. Ikenna |
oba009:Major issue? I can't think of any. Just the usual wear and tear, just like every other car. Or are you asking if there is a peculiar issue 407 has 406 don't? Because there is no car that does not have one. Ikenna |
masaratiti:No fox has more than 2 button remote control (factory). Meanwhile, Prestige is just a badge PAN gave some foxes they produced. But most dealers or people would buy the badge and paste on imported foxes as well. Ikenna |
masaratiti:Then, your fox is not Prestige. Anyway. Go into the car, close the door, insert the key in ignition switch, switch on the ignition, wait for 5 secs, then press and hold the button on the remote for 3 secs, release the button, wait for 5 secs, switch off the ignition switch, remove the key from ignition switch, wait for 5-10 secs, press the remote button. The remote should start working again. Ikenna |
