wisesystem:I don't think Mobil has Total Quartz 7000 equivalent in Nigeria, that is 10w40 or 15w50 (semi synthetic). As for Quartz 5000, I don't know about it in EW engine. But I use it in my ZN3J and change it every 6 months. Ikenna |

I am still trying to understand how you could be confused after some months what you desire to own. There is no gain in trying to play safe. Its a trap. You won't grow with that mindset, honestly. Be a risk taker or remain in a circle, year in year out. Either you jump into Lion family and start enjoying like the rest of us or keep doing, "What if...". By the way, I wonder what tokunbo Peugeot 406 you are considering getting at 800k. D8? If its phase I 406, yes, 800k can get you a tokunbo one. But a D9 cost about double of that amount . Unless you are after a RHD - LHD converted D9, which I would suggest you stay away. You do not want headaches that come with most of these converted Lions. Ikenna |

Atikubi:This reminds me when my sister came to me, to help her choose a car to buy. While listing out cars, I mentioned Toyota xyz. Before I could finished, she was like, "Excuse me!" Lol! Do you get it now? So, it depends on you. Most ladies would choose what everyone drives, but few would be like, "I don't want this, I want that!" And my sister is truly enjoying what she ended up with, with my guidance. Funny enough, the car has been very faithful to her. Never let her stranded or cost her fortune to keep on the road. So, again, do you still want me to talk about how to live a boring live behind the wheel or you want me to talk to you about how to live a good life behind the wheel and become a Lioness while at it? ![]() Ikenna |
Atikubi:If you want my personal opinion on Peugeot cars, I will give you that. But if you want a general opinion on Peugeot cars or Peugeot vs Toyota cars, then I am not sure I can help you on that. I don't see cars as how my colleagues, neighbors, friends, loved ones or the world do. I see cars as Ikenna personal do, based on my personal experiences and knowledge I have on them, for the ones I do know of. Ikenna |
KingMEXX:You can get a Peugeot 206 at 700k or Peugeot 406 at 1.4m. Ikenna |

RapzyJ:No, the crankshaft position sensor, otherwise known as engine speed sensor or rpm sensor, is different from Vehicle speed sensor, otherwise known as transducer. Transducer (vehicle speed sensor) reports vehicle speed to BSI unit and BSI unit controls the speedometer with the report on instrument panel. While rpm sensor (crankshaft position sensor) reports the engine speed to engine ECU while monitoring the spinning of flywheel. The engine ECU uses the report to power the coil pack and injectors, and also controls the Tachometer with it. As for the DVD, will call you on that. Ikenna |
silvoice:Have you checked if there is still oil or enough oil in it? Ikenna |
obawale:Ha! You are very funny. Are you saying you changed your exhaust because you were getting Anti-pollution fault warning on your MFD? The warning is simply telling you something is wrong with your injection or ignition system, which could be a simple malfunction of one of the components on these systems. Did you scan the car before you changed the exhaust? Ikenna |

Its abuse like this topic that I explained in the DVD I produced, the need for people to always read their owners manual of any car they upgrade to. That you have been driving for years or owned million of cars doesn't mean you know the do's and donts of every car. For some Peugeot owners manuals I have seen and read, Peugeot warned that one with Auto transmission should not be towed with the wheels the tranny propels on the ground, to a certain km. Better still, the wheels have to be off the ground. But most Nigerians do that with impunity. Tomorrow, if their Auto transmission fail, they would complain to the world that Peugeot cars are not reliable. Besides, I wonder why Nigerians have become misers to the point that they don't want their cars to run with any form of energy. Anyone that is that crazy to go green should revert to bicycle, not even motorcycles. Ikenna |
dokilolo:That's not a good attitude to life, believe me. The world or everyone is not always right. Everyone or the world during Jesus Christ trial shouted, "Crucify him, crucify him!". As if that was not enough, they went on to shout, "Let his blood be on our heads and on our children's children's head", even though they were told by their leader that the man's hand they wanted his head was clean; even when they knew inside themselves that the man was innocent. I would advise you change that mindset. As for what you said about your friend and how he uses his Honda, tell him that's too bad for him for abusing that transmission in that manner. Ikenna |
papadjaji:Thank you sir. I believe you were the one I just discussed on the phone via WhatsApp, right? Ikenna |
slydog:I got you clearly earlier. That is, you all along took Japanese cars as machines, much better built or better quality than Korean cars. Yet, you started a thread to have people decide for you, when you already knew the one you would always prefer. So, its the whole psychology that wasn't clear to me. Next time, I would suggest you research on what you want silently. Ask for clarifications in some areas, if need be. If your findings is ok for you, then go for it. If you don't like your findings, find another one and research on until you get your heart desires. Don't ask people to make up your mind for you. You will always get yourself confused. Because my taste and reasons for that may not suit you. Good morning. Ikenna. |
slydog:If Camry Pencil light is a machine to you, then you really don't know car key from steering wheel. Please don't take offence. I am just making it obvious to you that you really need a lot to catch up with it, if you wish to. You have proven what I said in my earlier post. Ikenna |
lomomike:I am aware of what could cause a wheel, out of the 4, not to move with others. But i needed her decscribe the issue properly before i could advice. Ikenna |
atlwireles:PAN 504, especiaaly the SW, was still in production at that time due to high demand. Even though they stopped the production of 505 that succeeded 504, but high demand for 504 couldnt make them stop the production of 504, so they had to continue 504 production after 505 was discontinued. Ngwakwe:Peugeot 406 PAN production continued up till 2008, even when 406 production stopped in 2004 in Europe. In late 2012, I saw a brand new 406 PAN productionon on sale at ASD motors, here in Abuja. Ikenna |

vanalero21:Wait, I don't understand. You mean every other wheels move, except the right rear wheel? Ikenna |

You car transmission is likely the culprit. Auto transmission, right? Ikenna |
Op, I forgot to add, if you really want to study and understand cars or have some basic knowledge about cars, then stay away from New car for now and start with used one. Because you must be forced to learn it with used car, unless you want to keep having nightmares opening your bonnet for some circus performers. Or if you want to use part of the money to do some business that will generate more cash flow for you, then the used car may serve that purpose. But pray you will be lucky not to spend that saved money in fixing unexpected wahala prone to used cars. But then, there is nothing wrong in taking that risk, because you can't grow without taking risks. Ikenna |
No one has bothered to find out if Op is a car person before suggesting he go for a used car rather than a brand new car. Because only a car person would leave a new car he could afford to go for a 3rd or 5th hand car. Some of us don't even know some of these so called tokunbo cars we brag about were 5th hand before they entered Nigeria, before we became 6th hand owner. Op, if what you care most about in a car is what can take you from this point to another point, with AC chilling with less fuel consumption, then what are you looking for in a used car since you can comfortably afford a new one? If you don't want to turn to a mechanic like me less than 2 years of owning a car, then why considering a used car in the first place? If the nature of your job or what you do requires charming clients or impressing them to give you jobs, or seeking for contracts, what yours business with 4th hand car? Let me tell you, a car person look for something in a car, something not everyone looks for. And if he finds it in an old car, he would jump at it, not minding what the world says about it. And most importantly, he is ready to pay the price for going for that old car, as long as he enjoys what he sees in the car alone, whenever he sits behind the wheel. The price is repair cost. Late Paul Walker bought a used car that cost about 500k USD, a 2005 model Porsche with over 600 hp, mated to manual tranny. He could afford a brand new car that cost lower, but he went for it, because he was a car person and there is nothing anyone could do about it, "He was Paul Walker" not you or myself. The car before his death developed steering issue, which after repairing it, was taken for a drive and the rest happened that ended his life. My point is, no matter how clean a used car is, its a used car, which owner must pay the price doing more repairs than new one. I drive a 1986 Lion. I knew i was going to be spending more keeping her on the road than newer Lions, but I didn't care, because I knew what I want from it which others don't see. So, I was willing to pay the price, which I still do, but I am not complaining, because its what I want for who Iam with cars. Some have had to replace their transmissions the same months they bought tokunbos. The dealer was not living inside the autobox to know the state before he sold it to you. Some of these tokunbo self, we read how peoples transmissions failed while under warranty. Some engines and transmissions failed few months or years after warranty. They repair or replaced them, before selling to 2nd owner, 3rd owner, before it get to us the 4th or 5th owners. So if you are buying a used car, always have at the back of your mind that anything can happen and you may end up spending more than 100k to get her back on the road. The other day in this car talk, someone opened a thread on how he lost his engine on one month old tokunbo Lexus, I think. Go and ask him how much he spent in replacing that engine. Funny thing was, the way he threw the question. That is, "How could the engine fail?" Probably, he couldn't believe a Toyota engine could fail. Things happen, that just it. Op, take some minutes off the line and isolate yourself. Think deeply what you really want or purpose you need a car for, not what we think you need a car for. Also think of how you want to spend and save for the next 4-5 years after buying the car; which of these two cars will increase your cash flow or raise your status, directly or indirectly; would you mind what people would say about your car or so what?; etc. By the time you come out of the sober reflection, you would know the car you need. It's a decision you alone has to take. My reason for driving what I drive does not matter. What matters is your reason for considering buying yours. Good luck! Ikenna |

segzyndpep:Like I said in previous post, I believe you can run it independent of BSI unit, which means your Mono or Nagivation screen functions remain the same. Ikenna |
Seriousthing, I have never seen a Honda CRV with front swivel/ball joint pull. But then, they suffer rear K-leg a lot. You can actually count that C-RV model without K-Leg on our roads. Ikenna |
ZIMDRILL:ZIMDRILL, stop it already. ![]() Ikenna |
segzyndpep:Aftermarket reverse camera with it own screen may work. But I would be very careful with the installation. Because if you run it through BSI, it may corrupt the BSI unit. Unless you are ready to run the connection independent of BSI unit. Ikenna |
