Other Brand stands So, I decided to peep in other stands to see what they displayed. So, this will interest the non Peugeot fans or the Peugeot haters. Lol! Enjoy! Ikenna |
Leaving Peugeot Stand https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/114_zps85ebd060.jpg https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/100_zpsedf933cb.jpg https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/115_zpsd3d6c2a4.jpg Now, which one interest you? The pics are there to make your choice, for one you can afford purchase to enjoy. Am not an SUV or Crossover fellow, rather, a Saloon person. If I would afford to buy one, the 508 would be my pick, without blinking. At least, the 156 bhp is good enough hp to serve both city driving and motorway Lion. My other Lions are there to serve their purposes as well. By the way, I succeeded in leaving the Peugeot stand with a 508 Brochure (thanks to the ASD guys, even though I fired them with series of questions. Lol!). Not a bad visit, after all! Before I forget, they also had Peugeot Expert in their stand. Price is 6.50m. The only sad face I find in those Lions is lack of Navigation screens, while am very certain the Euro specs have the screen. I wonder why they wouldn't give us gadgets, just like they give the Euro markets? Because, even if Navigation doesn't work in Nigeria, there are other things one can do with the Navigation screen. The Peugeot 4008 is full Crossover. But I think the 3008 has a better interior, to me o! Peugeot 3008 The Peugeot 3008 is a mini Crossover. The one displayed had Auto transmission. Peugeot 301 Allure Peugeot 301 Allure is the model Nigerians would call "Full option". Lol! Anyway, it has better features than the Active and Access. Price: 3.5m https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/053_zps1d0a6a46.jpg https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/054_zpsf59bf220.jpg https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/055_zps656f2bf6.jpg Ikenna |
Peugeot 301 Active The Peugeot 301 Active comes with 4-cylinder engine. The car on the stand has Auto transmission. Price: 3.100m https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/052_zps0b12081c.jpg https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/051_zpse854ad1f.jpg Ikenna. |
Peugeot 301 Access; New Product Here comes the newly introduced Peugeot product in the market: 301. The 301 Access comes with 3 cylinder engine and 5-speed manual, also have auto transmission. This is good option for Peugeot lovers/fans that are scared of V6. Lol! Its designed for people that want to go as economical as they can. When I sat behind the wheel, I was surprised how comfortable I felt on the seat, considering my height. The leg room is good enough. It has almost the size of 307 Sedan, if not bigger. Price: 2.950m https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/041_zpscaad9253.jpg https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/042_zps03db83b4.jpg https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/043_zps7370c4db.jpg https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/044_zpsb7644f43.jpg https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/045_zps4ddeba90.jpg https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/046_zps566c95fc.jpg https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/048_zpse1d79f5a.jpg https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/049_zps11401683.jpg https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/050_zpsc691489c.jpg Ikenna. |
Peugeot 508 Active The 508 Active also comes with the 1.6 L THP turbo engine, with 156 bhp. The Allure is more equipped than the Active model. For example, the Active has the conventional handle brake handle, key switch and plip, etc. Price: 7.5m https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/094_zps1538d27a.jpg https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/093_zpsd7bf52eb.jpg https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/092_zps62642b5c.jpg https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/038_zps9a9332bc.jpg https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/039_zps17954433.jpg https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/040_zps0db10f38.jpg Ikenna. |
Peugeot 508 Allure The 508 Allure has THP 1.6 Litre Turbo Engine, with 156 bhp. It comes with 6-speed Auto transmission or 6-speed manual tranny. The manual tranny gives about 4,7 L/100 km, while auto tranny gives about 5,3-5,5 L/100 km. Impressive, isn't it? I sat in the car and felt I was somewhere else. Very comfy! The seat felt so good. It's a keyless start. That is, it has start button instead. All you need is to have the plip with you in your pocket, touch the start button and woorah! The engine was running before I could ask the Peugeot guy what next. To lock the car, all you need is to step out, with the plip with you in your pocket or wherever on you, just touch the outside door handle. I mean touch your palm and not pull. The 4 doors and the boot will just lock themselves up, just like pressing the conventional lock remote plips. Wonderful! Oh! The handbrake is electric. Just a button, press it and the 2 rear wheels will just lock. The car I was testing has 6-speed auto-manual tranny. Operating the manual side of it is not on the steering wheel, rather, on the same gear lever. If you want to do spirited driving, all you need to do is to shift it to manual section, then, you can now shift up or down, similar to how we shift the manual, only that its clutchless. Did I forget to mention that it has economy stop and start function? When you get to a traffic light or meet a static traffic jam, the engine will automatically switch itself off to save fuel and would start again on the traffic starts moving. Hmm! I could go on and on, but I really enjoyed seating in that car, testing all the techs the car offer. Find the test car on the stand below: Price: 8.5m https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/113_zps1c8fd7b3.jpg https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/088_zps5df95043.jpg https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/087_zpsc015b074.jpg https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/086_zps5a2e7821.jpg https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/085_zps29697676.jpg https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/084_zpseec9efec.jpg https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/082_zpscc8e324d.jpg https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/083_zps3d15e2ed.jpg https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/080_zpse31b3ff7.jpg https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/079_zps59455272.jpg https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/036_zps92247b35.jpg https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/035_zpsae5a01af.jpg https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/034_zps5583ad62.jpg https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/032_zps6bb5e094.jpg https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/029_zps0fcc4abd.jpg https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/028_zps3a43dc26.jpg https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/027_zps6c6eb9e9.jpg Ikenna |
I walked Straight to Peugeot Stand, where I knew I would find them, since it was the same spot they occupied in 2011. Of course, I saw other car brands before I got to Peugeot brand. But they were not the reason I went there. ![]() https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/026_zpsd212b55f.jpg https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/098_zpsfdc233c8.jpg Ikenna |
On Saturday, 26/10/2013, I decided it was time. I got there at 12: 55pm in my SV D9, as you can see in the attached image below, where I parked in the Square. https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/025_zpse33f4d5d.jpg Source: http://peugeotarena.com/2013-abuja-intl-motor-fair-peugeot-stand/ Ikenna |
https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/017_zps9bb4dab2.jpg I went to make an enquiry at Head of Service, Central Area, Abuja, few weeks ago. On my way out, the above caught my attention on the Eagle Square entrance. That was when it occurred to me that I missed the 2012 one, though, but didn't miss the 2011. Right there, I decided to visit the fair when it starts. Ikenna. |
Next tribal post here attracks a long ban for the poster. Be warned! Moderator. |
Like I said I would do, I visited Eagle Square yesterday, 26/10/2013, for the 2013 Abuja Auto Fair. I arrived there sometime in the afternoon, in my SV D9, as you can see in the pic below: https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/025_zpse33f4d5d.jpg Below is the Peugeot stand. https://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a634/Ikenna351/026_zpsd212b55f.jpg New product introduced. Guess which model? Details of prices, specifications, pictures of interior, engine bays, etc, of new Peugeots displayed on their stand to follow soon. Ever sat in 508 Allure (keyless), started and hear how sweet the car could be? Will be back soon with the whole story, with pictures. Ikenna |
Ejaay: Thanks, so what now? Is it a 2004 model? What about the driving position? Pls send all you can, maybe to my box if you feel so. ele_adaji@yahoo.com. And pls can you send someone to help fix it? My husband lld ve liked to talk with you, but don't know if I can get you no too.* Driving Position: Right Hand Drive. My phone number is in my signature. Or you can have it here: 08052811236. I don't live in Kogi. I stay in Abuja. So, I don't know anyone around there that can help you fix the car. But there should someone that has an OBD II scan tool in your town. Take the car there and try if the scan tool can communicate with the car system. Ikenna |
Ejaay: Okay, its VF36DRFNE21159008.http://peugeotarena.com/peugeot-pp2000-lexia-3-diagbox-scanner-for-sale/ As for the VIN, will get back to you on the engine and transmission models in a minute. Ikenna |
Ejaay: Its auto transmission, so does it mean the whole auto has to be changed? Is it better to just install a manual transmission instead? Do you know the cost of either of the transmissions? The info you gave us is not enough to tag the transmission as the culprit. Yes, it sounds like transmission issue, but since am not that good in auto transmission issues, I would like to be sure with a scan tool. The problem, if it's transmission issue, could be auto trans fluid related. I have heard about slippery clutch in auto transmissions as well. You really need to scan the car, even if you cant find PP2000. Look for any OBD II scan tool that can communicate with the ECUs. If the engine is EW12, the protocol will likely be KWP 2000. I think the ECU has the same protocol with ES9J4S (V6) protocol. Some Universal scanners have that protocol. I would need the engine model and transmission model to tell you the cost of replacing the transmission or converting to manual, if transmission is the culprit. Send me the car VIN to get the engine and transmission models. You will find the VIN in engine bay, behind right side head light, above the firewall or under the windscreen (drivers side, when viewed from outside). Its 17 digits, which starts with VF3xxx Ikenna |
Ejaay: Good morning Mr Ikenna, I just saw this thread and you re a great person. God bless you.Auto or manual transmission ? I wanted to ask which engine series, but you wouldn't know. Yes, i know you mentioned "drive", but i needed to be sure. Before you get back to us with the transmission, one thing is sure, either the auto transmission is failing (if it's auto tranny ) or a sensitive injection component has failed or failing, setting the car to limp home mode, to protect the engine or transmission from severe damage. You need to scan the car with PP2000 to get all the stored faults in engine and transmission ECUs. Is the car in Abuja? Ikenna. |
Your clutch pressure plate (clutch disc for Nigerians) should be the culprit. If not replaced, will break or bend the clutch fork, if it has not started happening already. You will have to separate the gearbox from the engine or bring down the gearbox to check and replace any of the two mentioned above that have failed. Good luck. Ikenna. |
I will be visiting the Abuja International Motor Fair at Eagle Square today, probably this morning, to feed my eyes on Peugeot stand and others. In case you are available and interested, we can all meet there. Ikenna. |
crispgg: Please I need some advice. I'm presently considering the purchase of a used Peugeot 206.206 may have it peculiar issues like the 5th door refusing to open sometimes, but over all, the car is good as everyother Lion. Don't mind those haters. ![]() Ikenna. |
Good one Op. But that your number 2, about ladies driving sporty cars and how guys find it attractive, get as ebi for me. I don't find it attractive abeg. I don't find a lady trying to prove 007 interesting. Ikenna. |
How To Know When Peugeot Engine Timing Belt Is About To Break With PP2000: http://peugeotarena.com/how-to-know-when-peugeot-engine-timing-belt-is-about-to-break-with-pp2000-code-p1149-p1335/ Ikenna |
If the ECM is the sculpt, how do I detect and correct it? Also tell me how to detect leaky injectors?
I did not say the ECM is the culprit, rather I said something is making your ECM to manage or run the engine wrongly. The fuel-air mixture is wrong. The car is having an injection issue. ECU works with signals/values it receives from various injection sensors and components, interpets them and control how the engine run via injectors, IAC, Throttle Body (Electric control), timing (electronic), etc. So, forget about your ECU for now. It's usually the last thing to suspect. Find what is causing it to work in that manner. You have a code already, start from there (if that is the only cause of the car excessive fueling, like i said earlier). As for testing leaky injectors. Start the car, run it as long as you want, switch off the ignition and quickly pull out the fuel rail, leaving the 4 injectors attached. If there is any injector leaking internally, you will see it with your very own eyes, fuel dripping from it or their nozzles. Just wait and observe for some minutes to be sure only one or none is leaking before you re-mount the injectors on the intake manifold. Ikenna. |
1st degree Excessive fueling! Something is making your engine ECU or ECM, as Toyota calls it, to command your injectors to spray in excess fuel into the combustion chambers, which unfortunately cant be all burnt during the combustion stroke. The unburnt fuel will gradually wash down your cylinders and settle in your oil pan, while it mixes and dilute the engine oil. Depending on when it started, the oil level on the dipstick supposed to have increased beyond where the level was in the last oil gauge. You should be getting black smoke symptom on the exhaust pipe opening on the car tail or you will find black soot there. Or Leaky injector(s). This takes place when engine is off. Due to pressure on the fuel rail, fuel will push itself down into the cylinder of any leaky injector and gradually drip into the oil pan. But in this case, you will observe that the car would hard start and rough idle, especially when parked overnight, until the dumped fuel in the cylinder clears off. But this might not be the case, since you have a code. The Cause: Well, like i said earlier, you have a code (hopefully, that would be the cause). But it appears to be a Toyota specific error code, if am not mistaken. Am not sure i would like to delve into it. Note: Running that car in that condition, with a diluted engine oil, will be causing more harm to the engine. The oil will be getting watery, washing the crankshaft journals and its bearing (friction). Unless you are ready to be replacing the the engine oil every two weeks or so, i would suggest you get it fixed as soon as possible. And replaced the oil when its sorted out. Ikenna |
Was discussing this afternoon with some persons in France and Spain that ship Peugeots to Nigeria to sell. From what I gathered, it's becoming difficult to find 406 available for sale in those two countries and other LHD countries. It's getting scarce day by day, meaning, we have wiped off 406 from those countries. Lol! As it sounds, 407 appears to be abundant or more available than the 406 in those countries which will soon starts affecting the numbers here of tokunbo 406 to find for sale soon. From my enquiries, LHD 407 from those countries cost between 1.8 to 2m+, depending on the phase, badges and grade of course. So, a critical look at the 407 price will tell you that its not far or close to 406 prices on some models and grade. So, you can as well consider 407 when searching for a tokunbo family sized sedan or SW Lion to purchase. Remember, it succeeded 406, which makes it an upgrade. Both use the same engines. By the way, note that France and other European countries, if not all, don't have 408. Even Australians don't have the car. Its been manufactured and sold in Asia. But we were lucky to have them here. So, if you are aiming at getting one from Europe as tokunbo when the time comes, you now know. Ikenna. |
wisesystem: Irrespective of whether its V6 or others I hope? What about brake fluid? hope we can use the road side brake fluids?Yes, whether its V6 or I4 D9 (406 face-lifted), TOTAL ATF Dexron II was recommended. Any good brake fluid would do, I think. ECONOMY MODE ACTIVE means the gadgets that were on when this shows on the multi-function display screen, will be disabled pending when next the car is started, to save or prevent the battery from draining. If you switch on the radio when the engine is not running, after some minutes, the screen will display the ECONOMY MODE ACTIVE and the radio will go off, to prevent the battery from draining. The radio wont switch on again, no matter how you try, until you start the car again. When you switch on the ignition without starting the car and leave the ignition on. After some minutes, the economy mode will activate. It's just to save the battery or prevent it from draining. And as soon as the car is started, the economy mode will be deactivated. Ikenna. |
adejide2: God will hear your cry as you try to clear my doubt. One of the commentS said sienna is functional, honda odyssey is ellegant and vw sharan is durable. Please I need more clarification on this. Do you mean in term of reliability and durability vw sharan is number one of them all?
