I dare anyone to bring about a historical account in which Ibo as a nation or even at individual level demonstrated acts of gratitude in any of the multitude acts of benevolence bestowed on them by others, particularly by the Yorubas, who for many decades are the backbone of Ibo survival and recovery from the brink of extinction. Culture › Asụsụ Igbo Ga-adịrịrị: A Call To Promote The Reading And Writing Of Igbo Languag by iKnowevents(op): 8:06pm On Jul 29, 2017 |
Asụsụ Igbo ga-adịrịrị: a call to promote the reading and writing of Igbo language/ others on Nairaland Amongst my work, is a duty I owe the Igbo language. I have an immeasurable passion towards the promotion of the language especially online. I believe that if we the youths develop interest in the writing and reading of the Igbo language, the fear of our language going dead will remain in the past. In line with this, I will be posting entirely in the Igbo language, discussing all aspects of life and society exclusively in the Igbo language. I started it earlier with an old username, my posts were always hidden, if not hidden I got banned severally, till I lost interest. I will be posting folktales, articles on technology, medicine, politics, Igbo cultures, Igbo linguistics etc. I think it will be a commendable endeavour if other African languages get passionate people that will start promoting and preserving them on this forum. It won't take anything from Nairaland, rather it will get more interesting and attract more audience. My posts as usual will be in the Standard Igbo, maintaining the grammar and orthography of the Igbo language. Probably will be posting once or twice a week. Let all put hands together to promote our indigenous languages. Will be fun to see other languages Cheers... www.odeniigbo.com |

20CRATES: Population density is a combination of two factors, population and SIZE. Rwanda has a higher population density than Nigeria but is smaller than Nigeria in population by far, because of its small size Simply put, it is more tightly packed buy contains less people.
In case you don't know Yorubas and Hausas are both more populated than Igbos, but both have more land. The whole South East sef is just about Oyo state size plus small Jara. You people and chestbeating, every opportunity, every issue must be twisted for air-bloated boasts. The whole of South-East can be contained in Oyo? Why not the Whole of South-East being the size of Lagos, the one of the smallest state in the federation? Discussion sine intelligence. |

When it starts, even the facilitators wont be able to quench it. Boko Haram, Al qeada, Al shubab, Biafra, etc are good examples. Even Ojukwu ran away when the problem got to the crescendo. So BIAFRA is lumped with terrorism? Very soon being Igbo will be an offence too. The sort of evil promoted here is appalling. |

but then I proposed a nonviolent Solution.
LAGOS has 50/50 Christian Muslims population, but they cohabit peacefully togeda.. REASON BEING THAT THEY ARE EDUCATED., TOo EDUCATED TO FIGHT AND DIE FOR RELIGION.
so how do we solve the north problem ? through evangelism...!! what kind ?? EDUCATION !!
ones you take out the ignorant and easily brainwashed Almajiri from the supply of the Elites who use dem... You render the Elites powerless, as they will never come down or send their kids to fight. THAT WAY YOU HAVE NOT ONLY SOLVED THE PROBLEM, BUT YOU'VE ALSO HELP IN SPREADING LOVE AND THE GOODNEWS. I don't even know who the, "you guys" you are mentioning are. I think you should read to comprehend small. I never said anything about all the points about Hausa Fulani debacle you are harping on. I made my statement simply based on you castigating all christians, and claiming to be the only love showing christian. This is despite the fact that you have many hatefilled comments here against a particular tribe and group. And I wondered if hypocrisy is a branch of virtue in your version of Christianity. |

NtoAkwaIbom: hahahahaha the problem with the north is not Religion, but illiteracy, that why they are so so easy to convince, down here, no one listens to whatever you say unless it fervours them..
when you people cry and say fight, how many of you turn up to do the actual fighting ? but once they Fulanis say fight, they all come out and fight without knowing what they are even fighting for.. this is a war you can never win, except u use strategy.
They have a ready supply of Almajiri to fight, you either have to create ur own ready supply of people or you can cut their supply.. HOW ? By Educating them, and evangelizing them.. That's what the whites did to us.. If you can educate an Almajiri to think for himself, he won't be a tool in anybodies hand.. that way you take away their supply of footsoldiers without having to kill anyone.. #LETloveLEAD Nothing you said here reflects on the hypocrisy of your actions and the version of your "love" I pointed out. NtoAkwaIbom: funny enough, homeboi and the others typing good for dem are Christians. shaa, the Nigerian Christianity is Screwed up.. God preached loving our Enemies, and a paspor publicly told his followers to kill people of other Religion on sight... God preached NO discrimination" but a catholic Church somewhere is rejecting in totality a bishop appointed by the pope from ministering to them because he is from another Igbo tribe. The Bible preached against love of money, Nigerian Christianity tells you that there is a million dollar contract waiting for you, that there is a car and a house, where you only need to sow a seed in church to collect the key.
Christ spent his time preaching to people in the field, and using the litle money and food to feed them.. Today our churches build Stadium like edifice, and the pastor wants the poor widow to sell all her husband property to pay tithe so that like the woman that fed Elisha, she will hv plenty oil. A woman in my place that preaches to me "JW", buys kerogine 170 per liter and sells #250. I showed her the portion that preach against making undue profit and she tells me " Idionghorke mkpo osong"
The thing is, Christianity in Nigeria is soooo Screwed up, Christians are mostly the onces sowing the seeds of hate and discord... Christians are here celebrating the gruesome murder of another, because he is Fulani, because he is Muslim.
shaa me, I try my best to preach love as much as I can, Its the only mandate that Christ asked. You must be the only good christian alive in Nigeria. You easily presumed that those guys made their comment because the killed was a moslem. And you presumed immediately they must be christians. In your good christian mind Catholics, Pentecostal, JW all are now bad, because no love, and it's only you that preaches that love. You have made many comments that are hateful against some certain tribes before. I guess your christian love is meant only for some certain occasions. Hypocrisy must be a virtue in your version of Christianity. |

Any Igbo man should know that by simply BEING an IGBO is enough reason to be hated in Nigeria. It's an age-long hatred born out of envy, no matter what they use to justify it today, it's just an excuse to hang the dog.
Nairaland is the best way to convince Igbo pacifist of the raw hatred most Nigerians especially from the Southwest harbour for him.
Forget whatever they tell you, the hate is REAL and ORGANIC. It's highly disappointing to see what this forum represents, but ironically it is a good eye-opener.

Explorers: 5. Wesley Snipes.
The Blade star earned about $37.9 million from his acting career in the space of 8 years but ignored his tax bills .
The government also alleged that he used fake documents in an attempt to receive tax refunds.
However, he was acquitted of felony charges to defraud the government but found guilty of three counts of misdemeanor charges to willfully ignore his taxes.
As a result, Snipes was ordered to pay $17million in back taxes and sentenced to 3 years behind bars.
He served his jail term between 2010 and 2013.
Unfortunately, after his release, his movie career has never been the same again, however, Snipes is working hard to restore his glory days. Drugs nearly or is still finishing this guy. Most of the movies you see him in, he was as high as a kite when they were been shot. |

It is foolish to think that Biafra soldiers never committed any evil. Whether the evil committed was for a common good, it's still evil, especially to those the action was rendered.
Even American soldiers, cannot run away from that. The evil highlighted in any war mostly is the ones that are overtly atrocious, in Nigeria Biafra war, Nigeria Army carried the day. No amount of revisionist propaganda can be able to change the fact.
That been said, a soul lost, is a soul lost. None is lesser.
May the souls lost, whether justly or unjustly, exaggerated or not, rest in peace.
In no way does it excuse the current agitation against Biafra agitation. |
