Excuse me, what season did Ole finish 6th in the league? In his first full season he finished 3rd. This is his 2nd full season. He started as caretaker halfway through Jose's season. huh
What’s the meaning of the first full season?

Ole came in after only 17 games had been played. There were 63 points to play for when he arrived and he failed woefully to close the gap.

United were 19 points behind first when Jose was sacked.

United finished 32 points behind first after Ole took over.

Progress? grin

Ole made progress more that Jose with United in UCL, and we lost against a respectable opponent(Barcelona), when Jose lost to Sevilla in the freaking round of 16.

We were 8 points off top 4 when Mourinho was sacked, how many points were we off top 4 come end of the season?

We lost an FA cup tie to wolves yes, but we should sack ole because of that?
So remind us what happened when Ole faced the same Sevilla in the semifinal of the Europa cup(a competition Jose won in his first season)? cheesy

I am saying if you want to push OleOut agenda you should do it smartly.

Amaka took a team that was 6th midway through the season and ended 6th.

Moyes took a team that was 1st and he had preseason with and dropped 6 places to 7th.

I am not saying you shouldn’t demand for Amaka to be sacked but using Moyes as an example is an error due to parallax.
The team Moyes inherited needed freshening up.

Rio, Vidic, Evra were in the twilight of their career.
Giggs and Scholes combined were 79 years of age.

That’s half of the team gone. The transition process was also horrendous with David Gill leaving and installing a naive Ed Woodward as the CEO.

Moyes was poor but the handling of his takeover could have been better.

I have no doubt Moyes would have achieved more with the current squad than the rubbish Ole is serving week in week out. West Ham is a vastly inferior team to United but look at where they are on the table.

Wow
But they finished 15 points ahead of United

Wooww!!!!!!!
That’s a testament to how useless Ole is.

Mourinho finished 19 points behind the champions in 17/18 and the pundits came after him that he was finished or football has left him behind.

Ole finished 33 points below the champions last season and the same pundits are saying he’s steadied the ship.

The cognitive dissonance is loud.

Moyes

Came in after United won the league, managed the team for a whole season and finished sixth.

Ole
Came in at United as a caretaker manager, and steady the ship for what seemed like a nosedive.

How do they compare
United’s position when Jose was sacked = 6th
Ole’s position after the 38th game = 6th

What ship did he steady?

United were in Europe when Jose was sacked, Ole threw it away.

United got into FA cup competition and Ole lost it to Wolves.

What ship did he steady?

More like Ole crashed the ship into a huge iceberg.

2 years later, man can’t even win the lowest tier competition in the country.

But there is shame losing two semi finals to man city ?

Oga why na??
After taking 6 points from City in the PL last season, there was no excuse for Ole to have lost that semifinal tie.

City were terrible last season.

The semifinal game this season was even more painful. Ole had an opportunity to start Bailly in that game and take the game to City, but he folded and started the Swedish lesbīan.

City went a goal up, The FA gave both teams an opportunity to make 5 subs and Ole’s first sub came in the 75th minute. Stones scored their first goal in the 50th minute and Ole waited a whole 25 minutes to rescue the game.

In total, Ole made 2 subs out of 5 available and there was Mata, Greenwood and James rotting on the bench. A one leg semifinal berth that he should have thrown everything at the game, Ole succumbed easily like a N30 whöre in Yaba.

A hungry manager would have thrown all his attacking options at the match. Start removing defenders and adding more attackers. United were losing anyway and there was all to fight for. The worst that would have happened is to concede more goals, the best that could have happened is an equalizer. The risk was worth taking but the PE teacher bungled it.

I love Ole the player. one of my favourite players during his playing career at united. Nothing would be sweeter than to see us win the title with him as our manager.

Reality is, while he has done relatively well in his time as manager. He hasnt shown that he has what it takes to take us to the next level but he also hasnt done enough to deserve the sack.

So please make space on that fence for me.
Thank you.

There’s no shame losing to that Barca team. They had the better players and arguably the best team in the history of European football. United’s best player that year(Rooney) would struggle to get into that Barca side.
SAF was powerless to stop Barcelona.

It’s wholly different to losing to Crystal Palace, Arsenal, Sheffield United at Old Trafford. Are those teams better than Ole’s team? Giving the job of a manager to a PE teacher at the richest club in Britain is a ridiculous decision. Until Ole gets sacked, nothing will change.

Pep’s average spend per season is 166m (832m in 5 years) and he has won trophies on the back of the amount he’s spent. Infact he won trophies a year after joining City. OGS has spent a lot already, he needs to give us a trophy and a UCL slot this season.
The difference between Pep and Ole is that Pep does not wait to develop players or wait for their improvement. They had Laporte, Stones, Ake and he still went all out to sign Ruben Dias.

If Ole was at City, he would still be bent on improving Clichy, Sagna and Otamendi. A manager can’t keep saying he’s happy with his crap squad and expect funds from Woodward.

nitrogen:
Now, if you believe that Magwaya and AWB are not good enough, you need to blame Ole for buying them. Again, we are back to OGS, he is not a good manager at all.
Maguire is crap for £80m. If his transfer fee was like £40m, no one would care. Van Dijk was signed for £75m and he immediately made every defender at Liverpool look better. Maguire makes our defence look poor.

AWB is the best one v one defender in the league but that is all there is to him. Once he crosses the half way line, he’s clueless. I think Ole’s only plan was to counter attack. Sign good tacklers who can win the ball and feed the pacy creative players. This is another reason he got Daniel James.

Lol, you are confirming my assertions. Mou used a worse squad and a shitty system to do something at Utd. OGS has a better squad but no system at all, reason he has not won anything despite spending a lot of money.

Everything (stats, underperformance of the team etc.) is a function of a manager that cannot or has refused to step up. I am not suggesting a Mou or LVG return to OT, but one of them would have won a spoon for Utd with this squad.
The squad is shit but was worse under Mourinho.

The manager is also crap.

If Man United really want to win a trophy, they need quality investment and a manager with a winning mentality.

There’s no way Ole will beat Pep & Klopp to a league title that runs for 38 games.

Wage structure is not a problem, as long as there are good inflows. Finances are affected by the pandemic. If revenue decreases and costs stay the same, what will happen? You would need to borrow to sort out some costs because the option of reducing contracted expenses is not available. The pandemic has affected us.

That said, I do believe that OGS has spent close to 300m in 2 years, what else do you want the board to do? Give him another 200m? How many managers get to spend close to 300m in two seasons?
Pep Guardiola has spent close to £400m on his defence alone. If he buys a player and the player doesn’t deliver, he gets a replacement quickly. That is a manager that wants to win.

Pep signed Bravo to replace Hart. Bravo messed up, Pep didn’t wait to ‘develop’ him because he is not a school principal. He binned him after 12 months and signed Ederson.

It’s a winning mentality. Ole has spent £300m on the entire squad of which the overrated Maguire and the train wreck called Wan Bissaka are almost half of the entire total spent.

It’s not enough, Mr. Nitrogen.

Well, both managers had shitty systems at Utd. OGS is doing same right now, but the people that blamed his predecessors are not blaming him, they have decided to focus on the players and the board because Ole is a legend.

Tell me if the squad has not improved since Jose left, tell me that we have not signed players since 2018. We have spent a lot to get quality players in, if the manager cannot use them to win just one plastic spoon, then he should and will get the sack very soon.
How has the squad improved?

Highest points reached:
Jose 81-66 Ole

Trophies won
Jose 3-0 Ole

Remember, Jose achieved this feat with Valencia, Jones, Smalling and Young. Ole has spent a further £150m on the defence and they have already conceded 27 league goals this season.

In 17/18, Jose’s defence had two pensioners and two half wits but conceded only 28 PL goals throughout the season.

If anything, Ole is underperforming with a much better squad than his predecessor.

It’s the system na. Shaw is a very good player, style of play determines how the players will perform. The manager puts the best system in place to bring out the best in the players. Also, the system needs to be very flexible.
Shaw was shīt under LVG albeit he had injuries for large parts of Van Gaal’s reign.

Shaw was crap under Jose - a 33 year old ex-winger was trusted in the role than Shaw.

Shaw has also been rubbish since Ole arrived.

There’s no shame in admitting Shaw is useless. We all wanted it to work out for him because of the horrible injury he had but that excuse has ran its course.

The quality of the players is also a major issue.

Luke Shaw whom most Olesexuals think has *improved a lot* has 8 PL assists in 7 seasons.

Robertson had 12 PL assists alone last season. Trent on the other side of the pitch had 13 PL assists.

United’s full backs’ combined PL assists last season was 4(all from Bissaka).

They have enough attacking firepower. It was only a matter of time before they hit form again. All of dem no fit drop like that. United only have Martial and Rashford. And they’re both youth players. Cos they’re so freaking inconsistent.

Last season City scored the most goals in the league. They also shipped in a lot of goals. The logical thing to do was to stop leaking goals. And see how they’ve invested in that area. Afrodoc actually mentioned this.
