abduleez1: Lol, no even mention Barry Keoghan near this guy. That performance na Best Actor and no be mates with this gee at all!! Even Jacob Elordi gave a more believable performance as supporting actor than the over hyped Charles Melton. Many don't want to say it but all I see making this Charles Melton stuff be an overblown issue is cos he's Asian and there's hardly any Asian representation in the SAG Awards with PAST LIVES getting ignored also. It's just politically motivated.
How you take watch The Iron Claw?? 🧐🧐 Exactly 😂, that's the reason why I trust the SAG than the Oscars. I'm not in Nigeria, watched it in cinemas |

Wetin fans of Saltburn and Anatomy of a Fall wan dey do if na the reactions all this once dey cry since cos of dem ignore Charles Melton. I no see wetin him perform wey dey award worthy.
Oyaskii, how you reason this matter since you follow this season wella?? I don't even know the acting the Melton guy even did compared to Jeremy Allen White in Iron Claw😪an overbl0wn performance to me. Barry keoghan did a better job than Charles to me |

A24 slowly beaten to join the big boys in producing more conventional stuff. They've sucked the life out of book adaptations, video games adaptations will be more successful than book adaptations since they're already a trillion dollar industry. I'm totally sure there'll be a Minecraft movie and a God of War movie coming soon |

Ishilove: Please let the producers recoup their investment first na. Haba. The movie is not up to a month old. Since you don't want to pay to watch, the decent thing will be to allow those who spent millions recoup their money before we proceed to pirate their hard work.
Let us learn to do the right thing. Tbf, I don't blame Nigerians not going to cinemas. One- there aren't a lot of cinemas, you'ld sometimes have to travel long distances just to watch a movie that you may not even be comfortable watching because sometimes it's noisy, stinky and stuffy, why stress yourself doing stressful stuff when you could just watch the same movie in the comfort of your home illegal or not. It was when I got out of the country I realised pirating movies was a big deal- most Nigerians don't even know that. Can't imagine i'ld love movies if not for our beloved pirates |

Michelsmith12: I'm watching star wars. My favorite movie is Star Wars The Force Awakens. It was the greatest part of star wars for me because of Harrison Ford. I liked his acting and character very much. Moreover, I was amazed by the Dark lightsabers used by the characters. This is what makes this movie more exciting and phenomenal. The Last good Star Wars Movie |

Davidcorny: Personally i dont mind gays, more women for the rest of us, the thing is people are born different, I'd rest easy knowing my neighbor is gay than knowing he is a serial killer or a criminal. Or rather a paedophile, the fact that Nigerians are shocked by gays in par with paedophilia is funny to me |

Saviola86: Live and let others live
One thing about we blacks is that we try to enforce our lives on others.
Homosexuality is disgusting but one thing I detest about we Africans is how we project to cos harm to them because they have a different orientations like us.
We can liken this saddistic behavior to how the whites saw blacks as abnormal and sub-humans that shouldn’t live
I know some people will come and say they are two different scenarios but that’s how you see it and not how the victims see it
Some hediots will come to call me homo and gay But it’s your business and you are invited to my wedding Reverse psychology at its saddest. Unfortunately, black folks are still in the 1800s |

Some Nairalanders are so daft tbh, I see no problem with him being gay, he's an adult, he didn't choose this, although I don't think anyone is born gay, his childhood is a big prompter of his actions. He should live his life as he sees fit without you or any of his family members You should be more worried about what the society as close minded as Nigeria is will affect him not just because he's gay |

My Top 10 Best TV Shows of 2023 In descending order 10. The Bear 9. The Fall of the House of Usher 8. One Piece 7. Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story 6. Squid Game the Challenge 5. Hijack (looks like this masterpiece has been forgotten unfortunately) 4. Gen V 3. Blue Eye Samurai 2. The Last of Us 1. Succession
Worst of the year: (I didn't finish any of them but they still deserve a mention to help a brother or sister from making an ignorant mistake) 1. Citadel 2. Queen Cleopatra (apart from the controversy, this was just so drab) 3. Silo (ok ok, some people like it but in my opinion, it had a unique story, but the direction, cinematography and dialogue is just so un-unique, generic and too gray) 4. Velma- can't believe I watched 2 episodes of this shit 5. Secret Invasion- Baba of all the dogfart of the year
What're yours? |

The op opened this thread 10 years ago. However, by 2015 (2 years later), the thread was almost exclusively for movies because people realized that there was already a thread for series that was opened in 2011. The series thread existed two years before this thread. That's a better reason. I actually told the WriterNig guy before he refused, abeg make we just leave am |

Music/Radio › Re: Tems, Burna Boy, Asake, Davido And Olamide On Obama's Favourite Songs Of 2022 by Illusioneffect(m): 2:47pm On Dec 30, 2023 |
Contentplug: Around 3:00 pm on Friday, December 29th, 2023, former US President Barack Obama dropped his 2023 playlist titled: “Barack Obama's Favorite Music of 2023.”
The playlist which contains 28 songs, spanning across continents and genres shows the politician's high taste for music beyond borders and biases. This isn't a new thing as the President has a culture of appreciating arts all over the globe, from music to movies and books.
In what Africans do not particularly find surprising due to the recent success of Afrobeats, a couple of Afrobeats top hits made the playlist. However, there seem to be a little surprise in the former POTUS choice Afrobeat songs.
Every African with even a below average knowledge of African music will admit that Afrobeats is incomplete without the exploits of Nigerian stars.
With his Grammy-nominated hit song “Unavailable”; off the Timeless album, featuring South African star, Musa Keys, Davido makes the list.
Also on the list is Burna Boy with his didactic hit “Sitting on top of the World” which featured American rapper 21 Savage. Asake of YBNL made it to the list too with “Amapiano“; an Amapiano-themed song featuring his boss, Olamide.
The last Nigerian artist to grace the playlist is the Grammy-winning vocalist, Tems. She got into the playlist with her recent hit song “Me & U.”
Although many Nigerians accept this as a testament to the massive growth in the Nigerian music industry, others wonder why their favorite artists didn't make the list.
In the spirit of celebrating Afrobeats, it'd suffice to add that South African biggest female rising star, Tyla, made it to the list too with her Grammy-nominated track “Water.”
What do you think about this playlist? Obama's list is trash tbh, he's just trying to be inclusive to a fault which just says something about his honesty to the music industry. |
