How is your desire for God's Word? Many can wake early to get a salary, meet an appointment, save costs etc. Can you wake early to read and hear God's Word? Many can keep awake all night, to gist, watch a film, browse, chat, make money. Can you keep awake to hear or read God's Word?
Is it more to be desired than gold? Is there a thirst and hunger for righteousness' sake? What is your desire? The challenge is yours. You say you're God's child. Are you God's in practice, in behaviour, in desire? God is still seeking true worshippers. May He find you.

January 19 Psalm 19v10

10. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

The Psalmist in our Today's passage talks about desire. We all desire good things. The world all over, there's a thirst almost insatiable, a desire for wealth. But for the man after God's heart, there was something MORE to be desired.
You know people will kill for money. Wars, malice, and envies can be triggered off by money issues. Infact, the root of every evil is attached to money. Man can deny himself, his house, his locality and his country just for money. To many, life is all about money. But there's something more to be desired. That 'thing' is the law of God, the judgements/Word of God i.e the Bible.

January 18 Psalm 18v29

29. For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall .
What is your status today? How far have you progressed in your academics? How's your spiritual life? How are your finances? You need to know that all you have is by God's grace. Every good gift comes from God the Father.
Don't think that you're where you are by your wisdom, skill or strength. By the way, we gave you that wisdom or skill. Is it by your wisdom that you have your kind of parents or benefactor? Is it by your nous that you come from that tribe or that you met that dear person in your life?
David was a man after God's heart. He never thought that it was through his horned skills that he prevailed, no. "By thee I have run through a troop". This year, God wants to take you to a point where you'll say "in Him I live and move and have and leap over". I pray you'll follow Him. Do all things to God's glory.

God commands me in Psalm 96v10. "Say among the heathen that the Lord reigneth: the world also SHALL BE established that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people righteously". Friends, judgement is coming, and there's the promise of a new earth for God's children. You can be a child of God by believing in Jesus. He is coming to reign. See that you do not refuse Him. Hebrews 12v27. Death is not the end of life. The sting of death is sin. A child of God doesn't commit sin and so cannot be stung by death. He is coming back to live with Jesus. Jesus puts it better in john's gospel. He will NEVER die. Repent and believe the gospel.

I once heard from a geologist that all the continents were once pieced together. They name it godwannaland or something. With the move of continents now comes 'tectonic shifts'. I don't know how true that is, but I'm sure of the bashing that would've being handed to christians if that was a theory from the Bible.
All the same, the theory seems to agree with scriptures in Genesis 1v31 which says God say everything that he had made, and, it was very good. But then, thingS happened and sorrow and death made an intro, and the earth was cursed. Today, the situation we have is mirrored in Psalm 82v5 which says 'all the foundations of the earth are out of course. But there's a remedy. All we need is patience.
It's like when judgement has been passed on a convict but it's yet to be executed. The days are already numbered. We're living inbetween judgement passed and execution. We may go through some pain, seeing the convict still alive, but be of good cheer. Jesus has overcome. Be patient. He's coming

This is seen as nobility by God's Spirit. Get more noble today. Begin to search daily, not only during GM's study sessions or Pastor's teachings. The people in our Today's passage searched the scriptures . Let's learn to get closer to the Word. Read, meditate, study and search daily. Don't take things for granted. It doesn't matter if it is Silas that said it or Reverend Bishop so and so that preaches it. Search daily whether those things are so.
Don't appeal to articulate reason only(like mother Eve). Appeal to the scriptures.

January 17 Acts 17v11

11. These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

There's a form of freshness that is required to run the christian race. Christians do not depend on yesterday's achievements, or yesterday's faith, or last week's prayer. There's something for today, a certain readiness not complacence. It is the same freshness with study of the Word of God.
That you received revelation and illuminations from a passage the other time is no excuse to make less of such passage today. Just as God made it compulsory for His children to gather manna daily, even so He wants us to search the scriptures daily .

I want to add that the more reason why 'christians' fine themselves continuing in sin:$:$:$ is because of a lack of faith. Many do not believe that children of God can really live above sin. They spend their life in unbelief and end up defeated.

Don't let your obedience just remain inside you. Step up. Let your light so shine before men. And even if you've reached this beautiful level of shining, there's more for you. Be wise unto that which is good and simple concerning evil . There's no point for a child of God to be vast or well informed concerning evil. It profits nothing. Get wise unto that which is good! Enter into God's fullness.

January 16 Romans 16v19

19. For your obedience is come abroad to all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil.
It is a beautiful thing to be born into the kingdom of God, having eternal life. Do you know that it is God's desire for you to add to your faith? Today, many have been misled to settle for less. The devil is roaming about looking for who to steal from OR even devour. If he can't take your salvation, he wants to take your joy, he wants to take your commitment, or your future, or your prayer life, or the full reward that God has in store for you.
God wants you to have a FULL reward. There are rewards for obedience to God. Do not just manage to get to Heaven. Be like the roman christians, of whom Today's passage says their obedience is come abroad to all men . Let people know of your obedience and regard for God's word. Just let it remain personal.

David was a wise king, a man after God's heart. He may have chosen to rely on his discretion as king or the Lord's anointed. He could have asked any of the prophets or wise men around him. But we're talking Heaven here. He was wise. In our passage, he asked the Lord of heaven and earth. How big is your 'want to' get to Heaven. You should ask He who knows. Stop relying solely on hearsay. Direct a wise question to the right Person.

January 15 Psalm 15v1
1. Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

Criterion, test, standard, yardstick, benchmark, principle or touchstone. These words all refer to basically the same thing. They are requirements. Every reliable organisation or establishment have requirements for one to be a part of such organisation. Majority wish to go to Heaven. Even on earth, no one strives to make life hellish but heavenly. Everyone wants paradise either on earth or in the after life. Many will kill to get to paradise, others will deny themselves of a lot of 'goodies' to get to paradise.
But like most organisations or dream lands, Heaven has criteria, requirement, principle for admission. You want to be in the learning institution, the bank, the oil and gas industry, or in a multi.national, you don't just go in and sit down and expect automatic acceptance. There is criteria.

Your marriage's working out depends on you, no one else. Not even you spouse but you. You can build your house. You can keep it standing. Woman, you can build your house. Don't manage or endure your marriage, NO, that's below the blueprint. Be wise, every wise woman build her house. No matter what devil, relatives, friends, enemies, economy and culture may do or say, the onus is still on you. You decide to build or pluck down. This is beautiful wisdom graciously imparted on us by God. Blessed be God.

January 14 Proverbs 14v1

1. Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.
We live in times of celebrated imperfection. It is common to see and hear people glory, boast and rest in their 'imperfections'. These imperfections have spread to every sphere of life, even to the blessed marriage plan.
Families are being torn apart, not by outsiders but by the concerned couple themselves. Sweethearts no longer believe in the permanence of marriage. Loved ones have settled for 'enjoy it while it lasts'. Marriage is now seen as a necessity, just a load to be endured since man is a social animal. But the scripture stands crying in the streets, Every wise woman buildeth her house .

Are we to stop calling elders names like sir, daddy and pa? It's common to see an elder, a relative or benefactor being referred to as sir, oga, master, mummymummy. Do these new found laws affect those ones also, or the laws are only against preachers?
