Soon, we'll google out the nigerian origins of pentecost. Se we've been informed on 'network news' on the origin of easter and christmas. Thanks for the info. "Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died for the redemption of sinners and resurrected after three days. This is the greatest truth in the universe" Baba Nee |
Even there are so many people going to hell after doing water baptism. You better go and do your own and stop basing your eternity on probability. |
This is highly ignorant. |
This is the day when Jesus took my sins and your sins and the Father 'looked away'. It's the day when we received power to live unto righteousness. Because He bore our sins, we can live unto righteousness, hallelujah. We can be righteous. It is finished. Himself, He took our sins away. Don't carry those sins no more. Live above sin, live unto righteousness, and let Him have His perfect work in you. His work guarantees your healing. Drop that sickness now, it has being paid for. You were healed, you were healed. Walk in freedom. You're free indeed. |
April 2 1Peter 2v24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. Today's passage reminds us of what makes today a good Friday. It's not the holiday mood that makes it good. It's not the office bonus or the carnival, or the programme. Obviously, it's not Judas' betrayal or Jesus' crucifixion. What makes it a good Friday was that His own self bare our sins on the cross. It's only Good so that we are dead, nay DEAD to sins. |
Very funny thing |
Are christians supposed to die like God? |
Strong believers need to come out of their fears and be ready like Christ to BE reproached for speaking the truth. Let's judge righteously and build the body of Christ. Let's not please ourselves but carry away the weakness of the weak. They will receive strength and you will renew your strength. |
March 15 Romans 15v1 1. We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. The average christian today reacts quite strongly against correction or criticism. Many are now content to 'serve God in their own way'. Nobody wants to 'judge' anyone. There are judge not, judge not clamours and everyone is left to himself to do as his heart feels. That's why christians now pray anyhow, praise God anyhow, preach anyhow and perish anyhow. No walls. Today's passage talks about those that are strong and those that are weak. How do the strong bear the infirmities of the weak if they do not judge/discern to know that this is a weak believer and then correct him/her? |
Is your joy greater and greater? Is your peace greater and greater? David waxed greater, and as if greater was not enough, it became 'and greater'. Why? For the Lord was with him. He (God) is the source of true greatness. Nothing else brings true greatness. Come on. Let's wax greater. . . . and greater. |
March 12 1Chronicles 11v9 9. So David waxed greater and greater: for the Lord of hosts was with him. Whatever you are doing now, you can do greater. Whatsoever you've seen before, you can do greater. Waxing greater is a character of the righteous. If you are diminishing, I believe you should re-check on your righteousness. The path of the just shines more and more. Your today should be better than yesterday. Your tomorrow should be better than today. I'm not simply referring to only transient things like your bank account or your car garage. I speak of your righteousness. Is your righteousness waxing greater and greater, exceeding the righteousness of the scribes and pharisees? |
Why are people like this? |
I wouldn't be surprised if pastor Chris gives 1 billion dollars.Hahaha, is that A joke or what? |
Three shouts of Fire, followed by seven Amen like thunder. We're good to go |
Interpretation of alaharic tongues shilly-shallying means to love the only true God, Jehovah |
viaro Abeg easy on that Deep S guy o! easy. @trueseeker Please may I ask, are those scholars you mentioned elders in your organisation? You no even put Mr. for front of their names apart from the old prof. abi na humility. viaro scholars get ph.D. No even mind me o, I'm just seeking the truth. sidetalk: that NW translation no get one atom of anointing or inspiration. The writers don't even believe in such. My advice is that you stay away from it. Viaro, tell me. That Arius guy, was he talking literally? You know, we need to be sure on why one will make such misguided, unguarded utterances. |
Haha, viaro is breaking posts. And someone is looking for an evidence that there's God. Nice try sha.Who is that Arius? The guy no go school or what? I woke up this morning and I'm reading something pleasant(apart from the Bible). Thank you, that analogy of the trinity write was pleasant. Especially the Exodus 3v14 part. If I wasn't male, I could've sworn that the baby leaped in my womb. |
la vivi As long as one continues to get 'scary' revelations from senior pastors, one can never really tell how long the truth will be hidden. If you want truth revealed, dump archaic revelations and potential sources and look in faith into the perfect law of liberty. It's just my suggestion, please don't take offense. |
MyJoe Pls quit lying, at least for C.T Russell's sake. Or are you not aware that all liars will have their parts in the lake of fire? Even if you believe it to be annihilation, it's not worth it. I'm not exactly on this thread for word.trading with you. You've inconveniently skipped quoted passages only to dwell on what you think you can handle. I'm here for the body of Christ, not for talks about enemies and history class. |
karo93 You've consistently failed to grasp simple english, how do you intend to understand what scriptures refer to as the mystery of godliness. Your only hope remains revelation, and not looking in the frame. Your over-reliance on words of men and elders shows it. Again lets hope you get it. Jesus isn't God the Father but God the Son. And like someone said, they are of the same essence God/Godhead. You've refused to deal with the scriptures set on this thread. Your insistence that Jesus is lesser because He works through the Spirit is neutralised by your own talk that God's work is done by some active force or messenger. Get some perspective and 'help' yourself. Also I said it earlier, your spirit can show better judgement/knowledge than your body. Actually, scriptures say they can be towing opposite directions. It does not make you two different people. Enigma Great hymn. |
Deep S Seems you're the one full of qualms about Jesus being referred to as God, severally all through scriptures. Your sort has inconveniently glanced through all that has being written in the Word and on this thread showing that Jesus is God the Son. No one has said that Jesus is God the Father but that Jesus is God the Son. And the three God are one God, a mystery strewn all through the Bible. Jesus Being 'the only begotten of God' does not connote a beginning of existence in scripture. Such connotations are from your lonely mind. The apostles saw it as something relating to Christ's death and resurrection, not his existence. Acts 13v33. Did Jesus just start existing on resurrection morning? This day have I begotten thee. That he is ONLY alone shows its not of existence. The angels are sons of God with beginning. Why is Christ only begotten if it connotes start of existence? Jesus is the EVERLASTING FATHER for Jesus Christ's sake. All this talk of his beginning of existence is at best, nonsense |
How often, as followers of Jesus, we need to come back to the cross. There's always something for us to learn at Calvary. The cross has being despised by many today, yet Jesus said we must take it up daily . It is a proof of our christianity. When last did you take up the cross? Have you been there today? Jesus was being 'made perfect' at Calvary, making Him the start of eternal salvation to us. The Spirit cannot lead you, without leading you to the cross. You need to learn and be made perfect. This is verily Christlikeness. |
March 5 Hebrews 5v8,9 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered. And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him. Oh! the love that drew salvation's plan, Oh! the grace that brought it down to man, Oh! the mighty gulf that God did span, At Calvary. Mercy there was great and grace was free, Pardon there was multiplied to me. There my burdened soul found liberty, At Calvary. William Newell (1868-1956) This song recaptures the tone of Today's passage. The beauty of the cross, calvary. Jesus Christ learnt obedience at the cross! While we wouldn't go deep into that, we should note that Jesus learnt at the cross. |
Rev. 22 caps it up. Verse 6 says the Lord God (i.e the Father) of the holy prophets sent his angel as regards this great book. Verse 16 says "I Jesus have sent mine angel" as regards this book. Who sent His angel? Do I care? It is God, I understand. |
@toba i believe you meant to say Acts 20v28b. Blessings Back to issue. As things continued to unfold, John began to see that these one are three. He saw the 7 lamps and later, the Lamb(it seems the more you look, the more you see). Everyone worshiped, and worshipped, and worshippped. God is a Spirit, and they that worship Him, must worship Him in Spirit. O there, the Spirit must be worshipped in Spirit. The Son is seen in chapter 5 taking a book from the Father, why not? They are three in one, not one in one. I'll say it again. Your spirit, your soul and your body are one You. The body sometimes acts on reflex, many times it draws from your soul/mind to act. The mind draws strength to function effectively from the strength of the body. Your spirit communicates with your flesh/body, though they sometimes act contrary to one another. The same you, acting contrary to one another(one willing, other weak). Well, thank God, there's a marvelous unity in the Trinity. They 'symbiotically' depend on one another always, not like fallen man whose parts can sometimes conveniently act opposingly. |
When John turned to see the person speaking, He saw the Son of man (Jesus). His description is sharply like the Ancient of Days (the Father God) in the book of Daniel. Revelation 2&3 are the messages to the 7 churches. A recurring statement all through is "He that an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches". Wait a minute, how then can the Spirit be just an active force/power and not a person? How can one lie to a force? How can an active power say things to churches? Who exactly wrote these letters? Was it the Spirit, or Jesus (the beginning of each letter say "These things saith 'Jesus' ". The endings say these things saith the Spirit) Do I care? It is God that spo/ake. Whether God the Father, or God the Son, or God the Spirit, these three are one (1John 5v7), I understand. Rev. 4v2 a throne was set in heaven, and One sat on the throne. One sat on the throne? Well, I understand, these three are one. Jesus said(or was it the Spirit) "I AM set down with my Father in his throne"(Rev. 3v21). And you know, Jesus has the seven spirits of God, no wonder John saw one. They are one, not a tritheism. |
There are innumerable beings in heaven but chapter 1v4,5 talks of grace from the Father, the Spirit and the Son. We know it's only God that give grace, angels or 'messengers' don't. In essence, the passage talks of the trinity sending their greetings to the 7 churches. And that's the way their roles entwine all through this great book. If they were not one, then we would be left in great confusion and contradiction, but we know these three are one. We are with understanding(Romans 1v31). Rev. 1v8 says "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty . Many Bible translations have this in red letter i.e the words of Jesus. Do I care? It is God that said, I understand. Others who do not understand will say it's not Jesus, it is the Father, it is the 'moving force'(whatever that means). Verse 11 repeats I am Alpha and Omega, the first and last. |
The more we look into the Bible prayerfully and look away from books and watchtower material, the more we'll see biblical quotes that prove that Jesus is God. The book of Revelation is indeed what it is, a revelation, of Jesus. The book goes on to prove indeed that there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. The three are related in a way that no other is or can ever be. The Bible talks of these three as eternal, omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent. No other shares these attributes. They are uniquely God. The first thing the book of Revelation speaks of is that it is a signified/symbolized book. It is not all through simplistic or literal i.e it requires more than brain to completely decipher. But of course, there are things that remain clear for all to see, like we all see from the book that it is handwritten by John. |
Who are/is the enemy(s) of the acting first lady? Coveteosness is a sin not a virtue. |
Nowadays, repentance is old school. In its stead, you say it and grab it, you are born of God. Holiness is now a blasphemy of the old covenant, God only sees Jesus when He looks at you. The Bible doesn't say these things. Our Today's passage says [b]labour [b]. Our churches can not continue to dwell on prosperity and deliverance all year round. The whole counsel needs to be preached. In red letter, Jesus says "strive to enter, many will try but will not be able". When are you going to start work? Let us therefore labour. |
March 4 Hebrews 4v11 11. Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. If you listen too often to preaching on the media i.e radio and T.V, you'll likely have the idea that everybody is going to Heaven. Truth be told, not everybody is going to Heaven. Heaven is a holy place, a special place. Today's passage talks about labour to enter into it. Many preachers are bold to say that all you need is faith. Criminals and prostitutes are now having faith that they will get to Heaven. When repentance and holiness was preached, sinners had faith to repent, and they truly repented of their EVIL deeds. |
MyJoe I said there's a witness party here already. I didn't say anything was right or wrong about it. I have no problems. Good to see a non.witness enter the fray. You've as I initially remarked, ignored Bible quotes that prove the Trinity and decided to dwell on verses nobody is hardly arguing against. I've mentioned hierarchy on this thread, you've decided not to see that. Nobody has said Jesus is God the Father. What we've said is that Jesus is God the Son, and the Spirit is God the Spirit. The Bible calls them God. The watchtower translation isn't the only translation on earth. Quit acting like it is. God says in Isaiah that 'I will not give my glory unto another'. According to you now, Jesus is another. It's either God did not regard His Word here or you're wrong. Paul talks about the mystery of godliness but you'ld rather your nut-chewing relative be right than have the inspired word of God. May God open every eye. |
