God is a life giver

The christians are meant to obey God rather than men.that means if the requirements are different,then you choose God.Of course God is The Father,The Son Jesus and the Holy Ghost.If the requirements are on the same page with God's,then obey.Obedience to God is not a call for insurbodination.We should obey our leaders(Spiritual and others) as long as it doesn't displease God.

If ever David failed in life,it was in the family aspect.His house was in disorder.People who have come out of polygamous homes usually warn others of the evils and the sorrows involved.If you want to copy David's family,i'll advice you not to.His is the story of polygamous homes before,now and after.Its in his family that children were killing one another and raping one another.I wonder what the wives did to one aanother.Maybe one might have held his throat and shrieked "give me children or else I will kill you".If thats what you want God to sanction for you,well think well.

Talking about using the Bible partially,you're the one that seems to be paying no regard to the fact that we live in the new testament/new covenant time.Never to say that the old testament is redundant,never.But we read the old and look at the old with the eye of the new.We live after Jesus,the truth.the Bible records that truth came by Jesus.He and His ways and sayings are greater than any example that we may think that we have in the old or new dispensation.

I have continually said that these tongues or languages as someone called it are all of the same Spirit.from the same God.Well then,since some have insisted that I produce bible,then i would.I just don't hope to get into unnecessary arguments.First I must say that most of the gifts of the Spirit are listed in the Bible,not explained but we can easily recognise them when we see them or at least know that this is similar or this is the fake of the real.U get.Now wen we are asking to hear our languages in tongue speaking,that would be difficult except maybe we're in the midst of strangers.Like for example,if someone was speaking in tongues in igbo language in lagos,its not likely to be a sign to many.Some could just imagine that maybe this person previously had a knowledge of the language.Tongues of men are for signs.And the gifts are a manifestation of the Spirit.In my little healthy church,you might nt see the manifestation of the gift of healing cos there's almost no need for it.Not because the Spirit of God is not around but because he gives what is needed.What He gives doesn't have to be called fake or wrong because its not what we expected.Because you're not hearing russian is probably because there's no need for it.It doesn't make it fake or new age.Like I said,it could be fake.In 1Corinthians 13,we see Paul talk about the tongues of men and of angels.The chapter is about Love greater than gifts so obviously,he is refring to the gift of tongues of men and of angels.
1Corinth 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
1Corinth 14:2 For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.
1Corinth14v2's tongue is not understood by man but by God.Thats what i explained earlier as tongues of angels.

Come over to verse21 of 1corinthians14
1Corinth 14:21 In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.
1Corinth 14:22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.
This refers to an understandable kind of tongues,like the ones heard at Pentecost.Acts2v4
Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Act 2:7 And they were all amazed and marveled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?
Act 2:8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?
Act 2:9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,

Now on gift of tongues,I said earlier that it is different from the initial experience of speaking in tongues after the baptism of the Spirit.It is more frequent.It is a gift.Everybody that is baptised in the Spirit speaks with/in tongues at first but not all continue.
1Corinth 12:28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
1Corinth 12:29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?
1Corinth 12:30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?
1Corinth 12:31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet show I unto you a more excellent way.

The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof.O,that we could fully understand this,and to know its import. You've probably understood this verse in the lines of provision/divine supply.Its very right and it works.But apart from that,the earth is the Lord's.As in,the earth belongs to God and whatsoever is in/on it. He can do what He wills with it just as certainly as I can do what I want to with one of MINE T-shirts.
I can iron it when I want to.I can wear it anytime and as many times as I want before I wash it.I can decide to throw it away or give it out.I can turn it from a 'daywear' to a 'nightwear'.I can turn it to an underwear.I can verily turn it to a rag or burn it.It is mine. Sometimes,I see people whining,here on nairaland and in other places about how God did this,employed those methods,killed that,permitted so,punished such etc.
and how God is unfair for doing God knows what. the earth is the Lord's,that's why.Like apostle Paul said in Romans "shall the thing formed say to Him that formed it,why has thou made me thus".The world,the universe and everybody that stays in it,belong to God. Some laughable people complain about having to give THEIR 'hard earned' cash to God or to somebody.They do not realise that technically,nothing belongs to them. Let's cooperate with God our Maker.It will make time and eternity more pleasant for us to live in.

speaking realistically,House boy or house girl is a job.It may not be the type that you want o but its a job just like conductor,dustbin man amd bank manager.We're in the world and if you can see,almost everything is being abused.The abuse of house helps is uncalled for.But I know of some who might never have lived a better life if they were not somebogy's house help.Some house helps send their junior ones to school and do all kinds of good stuff.So its up to the individual to treat his house help right,as a fellow human,created by God.I didn't grow up with house helps neither do I have any.But just as you could have good boys and good girls,its the same possibilty you could have bad boys and bad girls.There's nothing like knowing the Lord.

"Do your best and leave the rest for God to take care of".I'm hoping you must have heard something along this lines.It used to be a popular saying/advice and even action.Today,the advice and action has shifted to do your best,do your best. You and only you,no God.There's no more trust in God.No more part for God to play. On the other side of the divide,we have some people who do nothing at all,but claim to leave all to God.
The truth is that you have your little part to play and God has His part to play.To enjoy heaven on earth, do your best and leave the rest for God to handle. Thats the way that our Bible examples did it.Our Today's passage shows us David trusting God for protection from king Saul,who was looking for David every day. David did his best,he hid in STRONGHOLDS in a mountain in the wilderness.If you read the Psalms
and other books,you'll also see how much he trusted in God.Well,he has testimony.He was kept by the power of God.God delivered him not into Saul's hand,says verse14.Play your part lawfully and allow God to play His mighty part.Victory is sure.

tongues of men is the speaking in tongues in languages that other people can understand.You may not necessarily know what you're saying and it may be a one off thing.
tongues of angels is speaking in language that communicate direct with heaven.Its usually edifying the speaker and glorifying Christ.TThe people around do not understand it.
Groaning in Spirit is what it is basically.Groaning.Its usually an intercessory form of prayer i.e on behalf of others known/unknown.Its quite serious as it involves saving life/lives
gift of tongues is what it is.Gift.Its different from the initial experience of speaking in tongues after the baptism of the Spirit.It is more frequent

I hope this could help you a little.Please,as I said they are all manifestations of the Spirit,not some man made act.Some people over time see others manifest this gifts and end up copying them until they could actually be deludthinking they possess the manifestations.The best thing is to live a life that pleases God and to be surrendered to God the Spirit to use you to manifest the gifts,not the vice versa

For sometime now,there's been some form of pressure on the 'high class' of our society to always speak the official language.It's rubbing off on the 'middle class' and the 'lower class'. All of our children now want to speak the official english language,which is good.But they are feeling ashamed and most times incapable of speaking the 'unofficial' languages.Thats the problem.That is the problem. It is not right.Everyone should be encouraged to learn how to speak and write and read the official and the 'unofficial' languages. Language is powerful.It readily links you in a strange land/abroad.It helps you communicate.The people in our Today's passage kept more silence,paid more attention when they heard Paul speak in their native language.Thats the way it has always been and that is the way it wil continue to be. Do not dump/dismiss/dispose of your native language.You will certainly need it soon.

by the way, here is for you to consider:
In 2 Samuel 12:8, God, speaking through the prophet Nathan, said that if David’s wives and concubines were not enough, He would have given David even more. was god promoting fornication?

All this case close,caseclosed won't help you.God did not permit David to have other men's wives,neither did he permit him to have people that could get married to others.David was not sleeping with people that he wasn't married to.The only time he did that,he was punished for it.And to remind you,if you're going to live by what is in the Bible,then you better center it on Jesus and what He's got to say,not on any man.
