Don't mind the guy. Even if 1 year extention is given Nigerians will still complain of inability to return old Naira notes and still mention effect on poor masses.
Then no need for any deadlines or RUSH. Simply mop out the old currencies as it comes to the bank.

An even poorer decision. The deadline is even closer to the elections, making it more harmful and chaotic if the new notes are not readily available for the public.
Some people who have never had up to 50,000 naira in their accounts think this affects vote buying or ability of politicians to get new notes. Politicians that bank managers will personally bring the money to their house. Ordinary branch managers of multinational companies have banks at their beck and call. Do you now think it is Obi that has links with Fidelity bank, or Atiku or Tinubu that are not connected enough or will be cash strapped?

FromTopToBottom:
what is the relationship between naira notes and election? If not vote buying ...and shame no catch you...
On Election Day you don't need fuel to vote as there won't be movement from 6 am to 6 pm
The relationship is not vote buying but dissatisfaction. These big men Tinubu, Atiku, Obi don't have problem with money. Bank CEOs are their boys. Evidently, Buhari is not the main cause of fuel scarcity or insistence on January 31 deadline for new notes. It's like a chess game. If you finish the economy patapata like Emefiele seems bent on doing, there will be big problems and suffering for millions of Nigerians not politicians, and the blame of course goes directly to Tinubu's votes. There's really no sense in having the deadline fixed few weeks to an election.

stop being clever by half. Some people thought that they are wise but are really foolish.
If I wasn't in Anambra during Obis tenure, I too would have been shouting emilokan up and down. I don't know who the hell you are to come and twist things I witnessed with my own eyes.

ObI started the agricultural revolution in Anambra. Before I used to hear Abakiliki rice but I started hearing and saw with my own eyes Anambra rice for the first time. during his tenure . Very good man. He constructed roads without demolishing anybody's home or shops. Health nko? Na obI made me live like oyibo, till date, i can never forget the mosquito repellent he sprayed freely for us. Ours lasted for two years. I was a teenager during his tenure and I can proudly tell you that he is the best gov in this country. Is it not Anambra again, before his tenure, god fathers call the shots, you dare nonsense, they will kidnap you, all state money goes into god fathers coffers. ObI made Anambra the best and without owing pensions, salaries or gratuity. No be say Dem tell me, I witnessed it. And yes, the reason why am rooting for obI is security. Who would have taught that Anambra state would be totally rid of insecurity before obI but during his tenure, we slept with our two eyes closed. and the first open heart surgery in Anambra was during Obi's tenure.
I don't even know why am replying you, I should be debating this with your governor or your presidential candidate not with paid nonetities like you.
Witness VS Witness, lol. Argue with your governor, past governors, past NL threads and other credible sources.

LordReed:
That's ok. You have said exactly what I expected and not far from what I already said.

If I was to set a criterion for accuracy it would be: as close as possible to the source material in word for word translation. An example would be the Wycliffe or Douay-Rheims Bibles which are direct translations of the Latin Vulgate.
i've used the Douay-Rheims Bible but not much of Wycliffe. They're both good. In my view, there's almost no bad translation, having dealt a bit with little little day to day language translations myself, i know and understand there will be differences even if it is the same person doing it again.

I asked you first.
You asked in what sense it is the best and most accurate, like i said you were stopping us from having one in peace. That's why i wanted to know your own indices so that maybe i could work in the same language/line as it were. Because certainly, we can't have the same indices.
Summarily though not exhaustive, my indices are a right blend of word for word and concept for concept interpretation, the right bias, its remarkable influence compared to others, completeness, and wide acceptance among all respected and revered CHRISTIAN leaders for centuries.

Christianity Etc › Re: 144000, Who Are They? by Image123(m): 4:22pm On Jan 23, 2023
Sand2022:
The research I have done on this subject produced me with different understanding as to whom this group refers to. This post is not to mock any differing view, since the bible didn't explicitly provide the answer as to who this group is, one doesn't need to be dogmatic on this issue.

scholars are divided as to the identity of this group. Some say it literally refers to the Jews while others say it refers to all genuine christians. Deeper Life sees this group as referring to Israelites at the time of the end.

Jehovah's witnesses think the group literally are those going to heaven. They feel that the number started to be gathered from first century and would continue to the end of this world.

There is a good reason to see this 144000 as referring to all true christians at the time of the end.

First, the timing of the event.

Rev 7:3
2 And I saw another angel ascending from the sunrise, having a seal of the living God; and he called with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was granted to harm the earth and the sea,
3 saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we shall have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads.

This shows that the event was still future, it will happen before the final destruction of this world. This shows that the 144000 will be available on earth close to the end of this age. So the understanding by JWs that the counting starts from the first century is wrong.

2. Execution of those not marked.

This will help us put a meaning to whom this 144000 refers to. At Rev 9:4, we read:

"And it was said unto them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree, but only such men as have not the seal of God on their foreheads."

Here shows that those to be spared are only those with the mark on their foreheads. This refers to the 144000 mentioned at Rev 7:3,4. This would mean that the 144000 are all true christians, because it would be unthinkable that only a literal 144000 would be spared from the wrath and the rest of the faithful christians punished.

My submission is that the 144000 evidently refers to all true christians during the period close to consummation of this age.
What are you asking again? Haven't Jwickedness already told you that it is their members or what do you want again you this people?

Most Christians are not familiar with the history of Bible translations. They think that because KJV was used by the British missionaries that came to our side of the continent it means it was the best or most accurate. Some even think its outdated English construction means it's better than translations in more modern English forms. I just laugh. LoLz.
Which is your best translation?
