No, because innocent people may be framed up or mistakenly found guilty. Long jail terms would do.

.. It is better to think up and implement intelligent systems to block loopholes and reduce opportunities for corruption. That is the way forward in this time and age.

What I have against Buhari and this his fellow Abokki dinosaur is that they are too stuck in their 1984 ways and too dependent on outdated threat, fire and brimstone based 'strong man' methods. This is unsustainable and cannot achieve anything meaningful.
Your suggestion is not mutually exclusive to the fact that there are legal consequences for breaking the law.

Both got drenched in the rain on their own account. Our dear President was drenched in the rain at the behest of the OCD Hollande, who wanted to remind our messiah who his boss, and slavemaster is.
So, the one that didn't get drenched, what is his achievement?

This old cow would soon learn the lesson of his life. You want to "jail" corrupt customs officers? Assuming you have the judicial powers to do so, how about sacking the entire workforce and jailing all of them immediately. There are no saints here sire...

Look, this Abokki who obviously does not understand the workings of the NCS would be frustrated beyond breaking point and he would end up dying at his table.
Is it better to fold our arms and do nothing then? Why are you so pessimistic?

The best they could send to receive him was a mere govenor. This President has finished us. May God judge President Hollande for this disgrace he has meted out to our dear MESSIAH PMB. They couldn't even provide an umbrella. They instead allowed him drench himself in front of the world press. APC, DO YOU SEE WHAT YOU HAVE TURNED GOVERNMENT TO.

If I have the power to make a mad man sane , i would gladly do and relieve him from such a sad and pitiful condition to make him normal human to live with , you mean God lack such power too ?
You failed or is it refused to answer my questions. The thread is not for those who do not believe in God by the way.

Thats not the issue here , even the most wicked human government will never punish a mad man for anything ! If a mad man stab or kill anyone they are not liable because they dont know what they are doing .

If wicked humans could do so , why would a perfect loving God punish a man whose brain is not okay ? Cant he understand his condition ?
So what's the issue? Can you live with a mad man? Can you marry a mad woman? Can you employ a mad man or even sit with a mad man? If you can't do any of these, why do you expect God to live with a mad man? You think legion would have gone to heaven? Entry into heaven is not based on pity, it is based on having eternal life.

kenny987:
U just identified the 250,000 barrels as 'so called'. That expression tells u that there is some doubt...
They may not be doing Nigeria any favours but Nigeria signed business contracts, agreements or treaties which they are bound by. A breach on either side without credible reasons or evidence has severe repercussions! If there was confirmed proof of crude theft by those banned then why call them back? U should be sanctioning them and recovering losses not threatening them and asking them to agree not to do so again while allowing them access once more!
Yes, i identified the FIGURE actually because there are varying figures from 400,000 to 300,000, to even 2million(i guess that was a slip of tongue from Buhari though), to 150,000barrels that Okonjo-Iweala gave Amanpour on CNN in 2013. The variation/doubt is in the number of barrels stolen, however, all the parties seem to be agreed on the point that thousands of barrels of crude oil are being stolen daily.
Now, if these barrels are getting missing, Nigeria has the commonsense right to stop anybody involved at any time t to verify. You can always stop suspects, it is different from harassing or condemning suspects without proof. The FG banned those 113 suspect vessels until further notice. That ban has being lifted and agreements signed/re-signed to ensure compliance. If any company or vessel feels they cannot cope or are aggrieved, the exit door is very open. It remains our oil and our territory, if they do not like the way we want to do business, let them go someplace else, simples. This is simple standard security protocol. If a thief or terrorist is in my compound, i can stop and search everybody, guilty or otherwise. If the innocent feels aggrieved, let him go to court. AGAIN, dem no born them.

It is not by speculation and hearsay...there must be proof. That is d way d real world works and u can be sure d assumed perpetrators will cover their tracks as much as possible! Nigeria must identify loopholes and plug them and prudently make an example of any erring one with full decisive actions. You don't threaten such people while leaving urself open to attack!
So the so called 250,000 barrels of crude oil stolen daily is speculation and hearsay? There is no attack anywhere, they cannot dare to do nada. So if visitors are in my house stealing me dry, i cannot halt everybody guilty or otherwise and then restore some level of sanity and new agreement? It's our territory and our crude, and we retain every right to stop buyers and sellers in an environment where 250000 barrels of crude is disappearing daily. Anyone who is not happy can log out and buy crude somewhere else. These people are not doing us favours.

The real truth is that it is a Violation of International Treaty on Trade to ban another's country logistics carrier simply because you suspect fraud.
Most of the actions of PMB's government have not really taken into cognizance the treaties and agreements signed in the world trade organization.

All the goods categorized as no-to-be-funded by Forex will also at one time or the other be funded.

I think these lack of knowledge on how international trade works is one of the reasons for hasty actions in hope of bettering the economy.

Remember the advanced countries benefit form the over 1.5 billion African consumer market, so if any country does not adhere to these already signed trade agreements, then they are in for sanctions .

Time for Nigeria to look at strategic ways of curbing funds control rather than us "bush man" tactics.
Let them go ahead and take legal action if dem born them. It is not news that thousands of barrels of crude oil is lost daily through these vessels, is that not too much a violation that has been consistently overlooked?

OK, look at it this way, you ban these guys that you presume are bad guys and you present the image of a tough President, no amount of pressure will make me readmitted them till investigation concludes that they are not bad guys, and it won't be in a matter of days. Either that or I investigate before banning them!!! Now, it seems he is not firm in his decisions (flippy-flop policies) , or he is aiding and abetting or worse still turning a blind eye to corruption. Either ways there is no positive from this. No real investigation has been done so far, and one of the shippers is blowing hot so we presume the president has erred. It's just terrible.
The ban was UNTIL further notice and it lasted about two months. The President didn't err, crude oil is being stolen daily, even past administration reported this.

Your illiteracy knows no bounds and I can see the dunce hat resting proudly n comfortably on ur head...certainly not going to move at least until u learn to engage in civil discussions in a civilised fashion.

He may have extracted a commitment not to engage in illegal activities but that could have been issued and then investigation kicked off to ensure those guidelines are followed. Any subsequent ban will be based on complicity and none will come to tell Nigeria that the ban should be lifted cos there's no evidence against them.

This is not a family matter that u can work from answer to question and it will be put down to family dynamics. It is also not an emirate where the words of the emir are law!
Rather this is a national issue with legal implications! Outlook is also important! We are in global relations and businesses where u must be seen to be at the top of ur game at all times! Don't sit there and call ur people illiterate when u aren't any different. It's in you...
He passed a very important message in a very short time i.e you can be banned in a jiffy, and things have changed. It's faster that way than words only or arranging litigation and substantial evidence. It's brilliant psychology. Dem no born them to sue, they know the kill they're making here. If they sue, patapata we pay them their one month loss and send them packing.
When you suddenly lock the gates on erring workers, they sit up. And here, they've even committed themselves formally.

As long as you don't provide straight answers to my questions, then we will be moving in a vicious cycle....Cheers!
Your questions have no bearing or relevance to my point. They prove nothing new. Alaoji was clearly not started by GEJ administration, this link above shows that too. i have no comments to make on one man in 2015 making an unverifiable claim about what he supposedly did about 8yrs ago. It also doesn't remove the fact that he turbines for Alaoji had been bought since 2006, work had already been done at an appreciable level. These points show already that Alaoji wasn't at 0%. Again, GEJ administration didn't start and complete any power plant in the South-east. Your chief hope witness wasn't started by GEJ administration, let these sayings sink in. The point has been made and very clear, you're permitted to dance or jog around it in circles. Its your choice/life.
