Joy Ogwu is not to blame for this ...the itinerary was there for the entourage to see . Shehu Garba said it was unofficial hence the reason why it's wasn't priority.

That's means they knew about it but didn't send anyone to represent the country. If we had a noise maker for interior it would have been his priority to make sure we are represented.

This is another clear reason why PMB needs ministers.

Please September don almost finish ...where is the list of noise makershuh
September 30 is not too far away, may God spare our lives. It's not priority to be at every fundraising event.

The bolded.. You are quite sensible yet you shunned out that ultra-stewpid comment on the FP of this thread? I never asked Buhari to make bogus campaign promises like him ending boko haram in two weeks. I have every right to criticize him because people are dying on daily basis. I criticized Jonathan because of that too.

If I may ask, how many times has Buhari commiserated with the victims of bomb blast and him missing this important meeting (and also giving a silly excuse by calling it unofficial) shows how insensitive Buhari is.
Buhari never promised anything in two weeks or even two months, don't believe everything you hear or read in the papers. Also, there are hundreds of side meetings going on concurrently at the United Nations General Assembly. The official schedule is on their website, including high level meetings. This particular meeting is not there. See for yourself.

You made no sense to anyone that has his / her brain in place. These are some of the reasons :

1. How comes UN officials were displeased by Nigeria's absence if the schedule was wrong?

2. Why did other countries in the lake chad basin area attend?

3. Which country in the lake chad basin area is worst hit by bokoharam?

4. Do you mean Buhari's meetings with Gordon Brown, King of Spain and Bill Clinton were in the schedule and those meetings were more important than meeting on bokoharam?

5. What is the greatest problem of Nigeria today?

When you answer the five questions above, you will know why you typed from emotional point of view and made no sense.
1. The report didn't mention UN officials. BTW, anybody has a fundamental human right to his/her feelings. Here is the schedule.
http://www.un.org/en/ga/info/meetings/70schedule.html

2. Maybe to fulfill all righteousness. What tangible thing did we lose by being absent? We go share the money together fa.

3. The meeting wasn't about boko haram.

4. Those meetings were in his schedule, plans and itinerary, and they make more sense, considering the fact that he's already made appeals for help countless times in Germany, France, Britain, US, SA, Cameroun, Niger, Benin, Chad etc. We can afford to miss that fundraising appeal.

5. i don't know, maybe health issues killing millions like malaria and HIV, or corruption, or illiteracy. These are things the likes of Gates, Brown, Clinton and co will help with. Boko haram is near coma, and we got over $1billion on their case from world bank already, with millions more in cash, intelligence, training etc from US, France, Germany, G7 etc.

Nay, u got it wrong! Instead of blaming the president on an international trip, why not channel your blame to the right person, Nigerian UN permanent representative! infact, the president got invited via her office, the needful is she didn't bring to the notice of PMB's COS, I'm 100% sure buhari would have attended the meeting had he being aware, infact, those that drafted his schedule at UN should be blamed. Anyway, Ogwu's tenure would soon be over. PMB on assumption into office shuffled neighboring countries, does it look like fun to anybody? Everybody knows the purpose, so isn't what played out at New York ironical? just think it. I'm neither a supporter of APC nor PDP, I'm just a supporter of common sense!
Note that we didn't lose anything important or tangible by our absence. It's just one of hundreds of meetings at the UN general assembly. Here's the schedule.

Of all the myriad of issues affecting the country now, he chose HIV.

Ok... This gov't is little by little being regarded as a joke.
How is it my biased research? This information is from WHO and anyone can access it. We have more issues and more people dying from HIV and living in poverty. Boko haram issue is already settled on paper, HIV isn't. Buhari has been talking about boko haram and chibok girls even from campaign. All his trips have been on mainly boko haram and security. We have been to and gotten assistance from G7, US, Britain, France, AU, Chad, Cameroun, Benin, Niger etc. What more is left to say/address the UN about them? We have other pressing issues and HIV is one. Thank God polio is out, malaria is still there. These are things to address and easily refocus the UN on. They'd rather spend billions on climate change than boko haram, boko haram. If you don't know, there are people who know.

Are you on earth? According to WHO, sub-Saharan Africa is the most affected region, with 24.7 million people living with HIV in 2013. Seventy-one percent of all people who are living with HIV in the world live in this region. HIV is the world’s leading infectious killer. According to WHO, an estimated 39 million people have died since the first cases were reported in 1981 and 1.5 million people died of AIDS-related causes in 2013. There are over 3.5 million Nigerians living with HIV, we are second in Africa. Do you realize what you are saying at all?

A meeting related to Boko haram is Less Important?

What then is of more importance to Nigeria?
Again, it's not the issue that is unimportant but the meeting. For instance, if you are theist, you cannot be at every meeting discussing God as important as He is. You set your priorities and plan. Like the Presidency said, i quote " it was not the only one or the most important of such meetings in New York that are paying attention to the problem of insecurity, migration and violent extremism in the Lake Chad area and the rest of the world"

Disappointing response from the Presidency.

Who are the worst hit by Boko haram? #Nigerians

Who are the most internally displaced? #Nigerians

Who will benefit most from the said Funds? #Nigerians

Who was unavoidably Absent from the meeting? #Nigeria.

Conclusion: The Government does not see the issue of ending Boko haram and caring for the internally displaced as a Priority.
Don't be ridiculous, we didn't miss anything by our absence, did we? We cannot be at every meeting talking about IDPs, it's just not compulsory or even possible. Yes, we can be there for courtesy sake, but nothing new or major happens/happened there. It's a fundraising event, an appeal for humanitarian assistance. We've done a lot of that already, and are still doing that practically. BTW, the meeting is not primarily about boko haram but about the dire conditions in the Lake Chad Basin region. This issue has been there for long, though worsened by the boko haram menace.
i tire for you guys and complains. First, the complain is that the President shouldn't travel but stay at home and no picture. Now,the complain is that he should be there. Na wa oh.

The ISSUE is not unimportant, the meeting is. In the list of their itinerary and priorities at the UNGA. The important thing is that we didn't miss anything, did we? Whatever money was raised at the humanitarian event will be channeled to the LCBC. Buhari already addressed that in the France interview. It's not by force but courtesy to be at the fundraising.

The chad basin memebers are the victims of bokoharam, so ofcourse, the fundraising is for them.
But still, the LCBC was not created by the UN but by Nigeria. The LCBC has its own fundraisers independent of the UN.
Any fundraiser sponsored by the UN for nations suffering bokoharam terror is not under the LCBC. The nations submit their needs to the UN as different entities.
And please, could you tell me one thing that has changed? I seriously want to know.
Every inch of nigerian territory was under Nigerian control before jonathan left office.
So, i hope you don't use it as a campaign for buhari.
Btw, we are all arm-chair analysts. Unless you work in the NSA ,DSS or military, with direct and real updates, then you are an arm chair analyst.
Yes, the fundraising is for them,no one disputes that. It is the importance or compulsion that is disputed. Maybe we should organise fundraising too at church tomorrow, FG should be there as it concerns them. The UNGA has focus and so does the President. It is not compulsory to be at every begging opportunity or offering time. Here's an idea of what the focus was/is.

We are not all armchair analysts, millions of Nigerians are affected by boko haram and know the difference between now and then. They don't just see 5dead in bomb blast on the newspaper or internet. They have lives and business at stake. It's wrong to say that every inch of Nigerian territory was under government control. Many of them got displaced and arrested and thousands of captives freed after May 29. Maiduguri just had light last week, Borno airport opened after GEJ. Many closed down schools, markets and worship locations just reopened after GEJ. Many IDPs have been returning as they now feel safer. You can't sit in Lagos and declare that nothing is happening.

Nigeria is the face of bokoharam terrorism and when the UN organize its own fundraiser, it is common sense that Nigeria should lead.

Bokoharam is still wrecking devastation on innocent lives and properties.
I can't list one new thing this administration has done differently aside changing the military heads.
Aside empty rhetorics, pictures and propagandas, there is nothing concrete that shows Nigeria is no longer helpless as you like to put it.
It appears you don't know what you are talking about. The fundraising was for the Chad Basin, you can't separate the LCBC from it. Also, only an ignorant armchair analyst would not see any difference in the boko haram crises.
