tiana85: What about the state of our roads Upgrading international airport terminals is a good one, but domestic travel is also key! not all cities in Nigeria are accessible by air and the state of our roads is just deplorable!!! deep gullies everywhere, single lane turned to dual lane, oil tankers and containers competing with smaller cars, armed robbery, in fact everything is just a mess!!! I just traveled from Portharcourt to Enugu and I have the worst headache! a 2hr 30 min journey turned to 5 hours all because of bad road! Blame it on the transformation. Buhari already said at Chatham before election that the economy is bad,and when/if he gets to govern, he'll first have to gather money together before embarking on anything massive. |

basilo101: What ? there are at least three hydro power plants in Niger state alone sending the power generate to national station (dont kw the real name) at Osogbo for distribution. The worst part is that power generation always peaked at this tym of the year under GEJ and u hypocrites have always attributed it to the volume of water in the dams. Hydro electricity accounts for only about 1100mw generation of power supply. The remaining capacity of about 3000-5000mw is from thermal/fossil fuel generation.. This larger part was mainly achieved and started by Obasanjo and co, we've had the hydro for longer periods. The GEJ administration was meant to do what we're currently seeing, that is build on the capacity by supplying gas efficiently, rehabilitation and adding power stations. Unfortunately, cosmetic and political work is what was major. |

I'm glad that he is continuing the good projects from the previous administration but so far he has done nothing to suggest that he has a plan for Nigeria besides ensuring that those close to him are in positions of authority. Every past government in Nigeria has had good plans for Nigeria, the problems has been implementation. Even Abacha and Babangida had good plans,visions2020 ,roadmap etc for our power, healthcare, economy and so on.Do you know since when Stella Oduah and co planned and paid for these without implementation? Now a timeline of 9months is set, 45%groundwork is being done, and I can almost bet that a large chunk of that 45% has something to do with the aura and fear of the new administration. i think we should be patriotic instead of political, election has come and gone. |

These are projects initiated by the persecuted Stella Oduah and all funds needed to completion secured. Another credit to Gej's government Implementation is the real work.Making plans and payment is good and Nigeria has been doing that since forever. Turn around maintenance on our refineries have been planned and paid for before but no proper execution or follow up largely due to corruption and indiscipline. From this report, they have now made a 9month timeline that is to be done by first quarter next year. Meaning that timeline is from July and in tandem with how other sectors have been fast tracking and being zealous since the beginning of this administration, and the weekly meetings of the permanent secretaries with the Presidency. |

Incase you still don't know.... Power isn't generated from a vacuum! It's very dishonest of you and your fellow Sai Buhari co-travellers to continue appropriating Jonathan's achievements for Buhari. What are facts? Is it not fact that the previous government left power supply at a disgraceful state of about 1327mw? Is it not fact that we are currently having and breaking power supply records? Is it not fact that most of the power supply capacity was already there before GEJ? All he did was rehabilitation and connection to gas,and he did a poor job as his result was 1327mw. Face the facts, don't fight them. |

It is the height of dishonesty for Buhari and his band of Sai Baba chanting zombies to appropriate Jonathan's achievements. Whatever changes we're experiencing in the power sector today is 100% Goodluck Jonathan. Power isnt generated from a vacuum. Buhari should go and build a power plant first. Power supply and generation dynamics is more than political investings that yield little or no results. Despite GEJ's so called investing and spending of several billions of dollars, he left power supply at a disgraceful low of about 1327mw in May. www.punchng.com/news/at-1327mw-generation-fg-says-power-supply-may-worsen/Here's someone who met supply at around 4000mw when he came to power. The OBJ government had done most of the groundwork and power plants. What was needed was some gas supply and rehabilitation. Unfortunately, the last administration failed woefully to deliver. Today, we are recording record national highs in power supply and tangible improvement attested to by the citizens. There's a ministry of power working and they're not on charity or doing it for God. It's crass ignorance for anybody to say no money is being spent on power. |

One cannot say for sure the amount/worth of her watch. Two, she can be richer than or more personal savings conscious than her husband. Three, the gifts a woman gets are usually more than a man's. Four, getting gifts and show of love as a elected president or family is not the same level and recognition as getting gifts and favours as a non-ruling party primaries contestant. Let these sayings sink in. |

kaboninc: You're funny.
If I declare that I have 'shares' in your company, does it make an sense to you? As one who is responsible, does it not make sense to know the value of those shares since I can sell part of it? Especially companies not publicly traded?
You declare assets to put a quantity and a value. Ever heard of a blind trust scheme? Declaring quantity to the CCB already serves that purpose, declaring to the public is discretionary. The important stuff is already known and public. After he leaves office, it's fairly easy to judge embezzlement compared to other officials past and present. |
Politics › Re: Buhari, Osinbajo Declare Assets by Image123(m): 9:55pm On Sep 03, 2015 |
kaboninc: Most of us do not know how assets are hidden. Today, nobody wants to have anything to do with personal finance and cash. Do you think Dangote has anything to do with bank accounts? His companies take care of his expenses. So assessing him should also include his interests in these companies and putting a value to it. They are done for tax purposes.
You should enquire about the value of these companies owned by these guys. Enquire about the interests they hold or who represents their interests in these companies and their associated value..
We were not also told how many shares they own in the publicly listed and private companies. VP Osinbajo has interests in MTN. MTN is a hot cake and very difficult to obtain. When they did their private placement, it was in USD and strictly by invitation. How many units does Buhari own in Union Bank? Their assets should be verified. When Yaradua publicly declared his assets, they were given a value and worth. So until we see the worth, this is just cosmetics and changing the focus on 100 days in office.
These are questions you ask to get the real or nearest estimate of these guys. You miss the whole point of asset declaration. It's not meant to show you every kobo or feed your indulgence in senseless criticism. Asset declaration is to help or be of value after leaving government/power, to ascertain that there's no incredulous change in status. |

While i feel for the letter writer and every jobless person, some things still need to be said. There's no need to politicize recruitment. Not all recruitment or applications are successful or automatic. The fact that you passed through training or orientation is no guarantee or shield against dismissal, suspension or sack. You don't come threatening about being trained in weapons, so what? So anybody trained to use weapon cannot be sacked or relieved for fear that he can become a criminal? If the recruitment process didn't have the proper due process or approval, or if it's presently not sustainable, what you can do is pray for help, mercy or compensation, not subtle threatening or claiming of right. |
