The topic is not important to the christian imo. But to the unbelievers, everything is important to them except the one thing that's needful.

@image123,
your words in blue have been shown to be untrue.See the verse below?The Red part was added to it and has severally been manipulated.God did nothing about that.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lord%27s_Prayer#.22For_thine_is_the_kingdom.2C_and_the_power.2C_and_the_glory.2C_for_ever_and_ever._Amen.22
I wasn't going to answer this because you've not said anything, but i changed my decision. I said 'people have tried to remove or add to SCRIPTURES and it's just impossible'. Then you come up with a link. Did you read your link talking about EARLIER manuscripts. Anyone knows words can be erased, torn eroded from an earlier material than a later. Or you don't think it possible? And most importantly, there's nothing 'added' that was not in the earlier manuscript. Your link talks of 1Chronicles, did you read that? Or that's not the Word of God?
It's just like the Mark 16 passage where some claim that it was 'added'. Is there any new thing there that's not in other parts of scriptures? Are they not as equally inspired and renewing/God breathed as other scriptures? When we talk of no add/subtract, we're not really referring to tearing away a page from your personal Bible, or the back pages eating up due to age, or marring with ink, or writing some notes in your Bible. ONLY BELIEVE, those are the words of Jesus, and no one, nasa, nccf, Nepa, UN, pdp, fifa, no body can add to or remove from it.

It's difficult for him to see that. It's only the one he wants to see, like the Bible talking about mo as the last prophet. Or maybe that part is corrupted but the sword part is clean.

December 9 Matthew 9v38

38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

Our duty is laid clear before us. We should pray to God that He should send labourers, soul winners, evangelists. When last did you pray about this. It is a command from Christ. People talk about not having to keep old testament laws, are they keeping new testament laws. It is useful to note that God is already aware of the need, yet it is required that we ask. Even of greater note should be the fact that it is His harvest.
How then is it our business, you'll think He should just 'sort Himself'. We are members of the same body and joint heirs with Jesus. We are of the same family and what affects the Lord ought to affect us.
Nonchalance to evangelism and intercession does not augur well for us as believers. Let's realise that our blood ought to be thicker than water. Let us mind the same thing, lets mind the things of Christ, of God. Pray to God that He will send forth labourers into His harvest.
And anytime the harvest comes in, always remember that they are God's Harvest, not exclusively yours. We do not win souls to our church, or to our branch, or to ourselves. They are God's harvest. Let's add this to our faith, let us intercede and ask for more labourers. This would be praying to God in line with His will, and what gracious answer may we receive.

Okay, i'll help you then. I've already listed different things that the sword can be used for. Now please compare these two passages and observe the context.
Luke 22v35 And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing. 36 Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.

And
Luke10v2.Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest. 3 Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves. 4 Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way. 5 And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house.

What can you put together from the two passages BASHY DEMY?
If you'rE referring to necta's post, it doesn't look like.
^^^^^Is the above in defense of Jesus commanding his people to sell their cloths and purchase swords with the gains?
This &the sentences that followed it do not 'compare those two passages'

Marriage is a relationship between husband, wife and God. When God is taken out of the equation, there remains no more foundation to combat the storms that 'war' against marriage. And we sure have more storms these days with the general populace adjusting against the former relationship standards. So bring God back into the equation, that's all.
Family › Parents, Give Us Good Children Like Samuel by Image123(op): 4:47pm On Dec 08, 2010
How can we have good children again? Children with home training, good behaviour/demeanour, children with the fear of God. Not children who don't know God, i used to assume that atheists were old and matured, usually over-educated people, put today, we have teenagers and kids in their young twenties who have aversion for God or don't even believe in Him. We have hardened criminals and sinners commiting sin with much swagger and bold in their lewdness. What's wrong? Is it the music, is it the parents, the teachers, the friends, devil, what? And to think that these young ones also die and have an eternity to deal with. How do rise to this challenge?

^you've failed to understand the answer to your queries, so let me 'mellow down a bit' to what you MAY understand. NO CHILD OF GOD WOULD NEED TO RECOGNISE HIM, HE'LL RECOGNISE THEM.
As to your fears on the infallibility of God's Word, no need to fear, only believe. Really that's all to be done by you. People have tried and are still trying to remove from and add to the Scriptures, it's just not possible, as in IMPOSSIBLE. The Word of GOD will stand forever, even if heaven and earth pass away, solid stuff, reliably dependable.
Nobody, no government or organisation, demon or company, devil or gate can remove one tittle from the Word.

They are a cult group. They have nothing to offer that truly lasts. Joining them in school is even most worse. It disorients your purpose in life, exposes you to crime, would impair your cgpa, can lead to your 'timely' death, and would pit you as an enemy of God. The only 'advantage' is that you get to feel among. Advice is if you're looking for a real cool 'feel among' group, join any fellowship, even msss will achieve that. Every other 'benefit' can be achieved on your own, no need to join any cult.

Well, i saw "your" answer and i believe it as false. You are not the body of christ, but the body of the church establishment. Without you, the church can neither survive nor even exist. That you are the body of christ is a lie told to you by the church to keep you still interested. The church uses the self-constructed symbol of Jesus just as much as it uses YOU to ensure it's continuing survival. Wake up and get real.

Okay, back to the topic. Where is the Jesus description in the NT? anyone?
Go and learn to believe 1Corinthians 12v14,27. When you do, you will know that we are the body of Christ. and that there is no cause to panic of whether the hand or the neck or the chest will not recognise their Head when He calls.

We expose ourselves to ridicule and doubt as believers when we hang on to revelations that have no base on the more sure Word of prophecy. Scripture is clear and cannot be broken when it says 'no one, not even the angels, except my Father'. Let's learn to SUBJECT our visions, dreams and revelations to God's Word. It could also result to our doubting how God communicates with us, please be aware and always prepared, for you know not when the Lord doth come.

@bashy demy
image cmon guy wise up either i say garment or bag what am driving at is that he asked his disciples to sell there things to buy sword
Good to see you say i should wise up, how i wish you could say and do that to yourself. I understood your context immediately you said " he ask them to sell there bag and buy sword" even though the statement was/is incorrect. i chose to 'pull you small'. It's the exact way you've not 'wised up' to understand the context of what Jesus said. Just like i ignored all the verses you posted and held on to 'selling bags and buying swords', you have decided to ignore all that Jesus taught and stood for, all he practised and all his disciples practised. Instead you've held on to buying swords to justify isla.mic violence.
maybe you need to google or check your dictionary for what sword us and what is mostly use for, what do you mean by a sword can be multipurpose? are you trying to tell me he did not mean the sharp object when he say sword? a Staff is a kind of stick that what some elderly men use that call it staff and staves is a plural form of staff is kind of third person singular so they are refering to the same things when they say Staff or Staves i wish you understand what i mean.
The bolded above is a self inflicted irony. You talk of what a sword is mostly used for, implying that it could have other uses, then you turn to ask if a sword can be multipurpose.
Well to shorten a long story, a sword is a class of knife. It could have one edge sharp, similar to our popular 'knife', but could be longer and have two edges sharp. USES: Amongst other things, the knife family(the sword falls under this) can be;
1. Used as a weapon for attack.
2. Used as a weapon for defence,
3. Used as a cutting tool.
4. Used for decoration.
5. Used as a dining utensil.
6. Used in the kitchen.
7. Used for hunting.
8. Used as a farming implement.
Yay, clap for me, i just answered the question i asked you! The point is that a sword can have more than one function of unleashing mayhem. That someone holds or possesses a sword, or gun or a knife doesn't automatically translate him/her into a jihadist or a rioter.
You make a similar generalisation when you say "a Staff is a kind of stick that what some elderly men use". Jesus said that some people came to Him with swords and staves. I hope we can assume that they were all elderly men, and that they were using the swords and staves to walk. lol.
Hope you get what i'm saying? to de-generalise, let me answer what i asked you again,hahaha. Amongst other things, the staff can be;
1. Used as a stick to aid walking.
2. Used as a weapon.
3. Used in ceremonies, or to indicate official status.
4. Used as a surveying tool.
5. Used in military commands.

and what is it that you dont understand by enough he is trying to tell them that those 2 sword is enough since he is not expecting much enemy for his arrest he think maybe they are only sending either 2 or 3 for his arrest and that why he said those sword is enough
Jesus knew He was going to be arrested and killed. Actually, that's why He came to earth, to die. He knew it all along and He told He disciples many times. Have you seen/heard where He told his disciples and one of them was against it, but Jesus rebuked him sharply? Infact, He told his betrayer to quickly go ahead. He could have left the place if He wanted to, He could have disappeared, he could have called ten thousand angels, all these things are in the Bible. But He waited, stopped His disciples from violence, healed the wounded 'enemy' and died for the whole world. He did it in love, not in helplessness. He did it to achieve something mightier than victory in physical battle, He did it to achieve spiritual victory for us. He gave us victory over satan and sin. He gave us life. He wasn't expecting 2 or 3, He knew all before it happened.
Mark 9:31 For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day.
Mark 10:33 Saying, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles:

December 2 Genesis 30v30

Gen 30:30 For it was little which thou hadst before I came, and it is now increased unto a multitude; and the LORD hath blessed thee since my coming: and now when shall I provide for mine own house also?

We all love to be special, we all want to make an impact, a lasting impression. When you think of the great people who have lived before us and in our present time, we want to be like them. We usually regard them because of the impact that they have had, some in politics, some in education and research, some in spiritual matters, some to their environment, people and locality. All to their generation.
We're moved to ask of what we will achieve in our own generation. Jacob had an indelible impact in the household of Laban his uncle. You see, you don't have to be the president of the world before you create an impact. You don't even have to be Mr. Rich before you affect lives. Jacob affected the lives of those around him. Hear his words again in our Today's passage. "it was little which thou hadst before I came, and it is now increased unto a multitude; and the LORD hath blessed thee since my coming."
He knew it. It was undeniable. He came to live with his uncle as a young man. How are you impacting the lives of others. Your family, those that live around you and with you, your co-workers, your employers or employees, the world around you? How much we struggle to even achieve this level! But thank God for Jacob, who is among the cloud of witnesses wee have observing us. He's been there, done that.
More importantly and most essentially, he's done MORE THAN that. What can be more than impacting/imparting the world, you may ask? When will I provide for my own house also? That's it, YOU. People spend their lives working for money, even for their family, or for church. When will you provide for you? You spend time touching lives, when will you touch your own? You give yourself to study and research and knowledge. You offer yourself to work, and to pleasure and to sports, when will you find time for you? You go to school, marry, get a job, get certificates, children, grand children. When will you get salvation? Or you're even 'spiritual'. You love God, you love your neighbours, is that all? No, and no again. The two greatest commandments are these; one, to love God, and two is to love your neighbour as yourself. When are you going to love yourself and move closer to God? God has prepared a place, just for YOU. How often do YOU think about it? Are you even interested in it?
The rewards in Heaven await YOU. Are you doing anything of significance to get them. to get the best of Heaven, not just to manage to maybe enter, just in case. To get the best eternally, always the best. When will YOU provide for your own house? Reflect and meditate on these for Jesus came just because of YOU.
