No time for argument over semnatics. Atrocities where committed you're yet to refute that and you're busy raving about stranger or no stranger? Psssft!

So the taking of the virgins wasn't commanded by god? So now you blame the Genocide, forced marriage and se.x slavery squarely on moses and his judges? Do you now concede moses and the other judges are CRIMINALS, TERRORISTS, and GENOCIDAL Maniacs??
I didn't blame anyone, don't outrun yourself tudor. You seemed quite interested when your pal asked the difference between God and others.

Business on the religion section. This is what Jo and his church usually get accused of. Money pursues me.

@mazaje
Lest i forget, a crime is ILLEGAL and PUNISHABLE BY LAW.
Nothing done by God is illegal or punishable by law, sorry.
Plus moab/midian wasn't among the territory to be possessed. You just quoted it, try to read it.
Christianity Etc › Re: Amala - The Remix by Image123(m): 8:49pm On Nov 21, 2010
Someone just said that God swears by His Law. I'm wondering where he got that. Now it's Tudor backing out on whether the virgins were strAngers or not. The point been made is that you don't have adequate or correct information on what you judge. That has been proven and will still be if you please. In other words, you have no claim, right or say in the matter.
Take another one, the taking of virgins in Judges 21 wasn't commanded by God like you suppose.
Christianity Etc › Re: Amala - The Remix by Image123(m): 8:29pm On Nov 21, 2010
@Tudor & mazaje
You just admitted that genocide is a crime. That it's a crime proves that God cannot commit it. You can't accuse God of committing a crime, bite yourself. I can't say it clearer than that to you.
Two, you as usual failed to see that i discussed on the war against midian (Matthew 13v15). The female children were not taken for wives. Plus, in your ignorance you've failed to see that those women that were taken as wives in Judges 21 were Israelites, not strangers.
Christianity Etc › Re: Amala - The Remix by Image123(m): 4:39pm On Nov 21, 2010
Don't even know where to start on this. There seem to be almost no questionS, just the frustrations of lost souls. thank God for saving me, He spared me from these and more. well, lets see what we can add. Would be good to note that I'm not here to defend God, He doesn't need it, plus i don't count myself adequate to. I'd rather He defend me, we walk/work better that way.
I'll just want to clear some misconceptions and perhaps leave you without an excuse. antigods will probably not get much 'answers' from christians because we know where this usually ends, so why the bother. Matthew 13:15  For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
i'll start then by stating clearly that God has never at any time committed genocide/murder. These are crimes, and bite yourself, God cannot commit crimes. what language can i say this in? God is not answerable to, neither can He be said to commit a crime. He's above the law, ever heard that phrase, above the law? Then what makes God different from other gods is that He is alive and better than others, satisfied? When atheism or agnosticism or any other religion becomes better than serving the living God, please inform us. Thank you.
So on the wars of Israel, it'll be good that you begin to take note that they were WARS, not riots or street brawls. they were issues of NATIONAL security, not pubfights as they've been sorta painted. i mean that they involved soldiers, thousands of soldiers warring against other nations on behalf of at least one million citizens. I'm not a war veteran but i believe soldiers do not stand in court after war on count of murder, just like a man will stand if he went to kill another. You seem to be equating the two, thats why i bring that up. When God says "do not kill", He had the later in mind more than the former. Again, what happens in a warfront, or what happens at an execution cannot be ranked alongside when a man takes the law into his hands and takes human life.
I do not like wars personally, but i'd rather that my country had soldiers and policemen to protect my nation. This might not always take the form of dialogue, for issues of NATIONAL security, or as you may more readily agree, self/nation-defence, soldiers should act as appropriate.  So on Midian, it was a war, not 30 men coming out of a beer parlour and committing a massacre, but twelve thousand men armed for war. Numbers 31:5  So there were delivered out of the thousands of Israel, a thousand of every tribe, twelve thousand armed for war.
I guess you don't even know what caused the war, so lemme brief you. Israel was on their way to Canaan. there was this place that they had to pass, and they asked for permission and promised not to take anystuff. But instead of permission, they received an army ready to do battle, so they did battle and won. Then Moab saw this and wanted to destroy Israel (meanwhile Israel considered moab and midian as brothers/friends and had no prior command to fight them). Moab/Midian employed prophet Balaam to curse/weaken Israel, and Balaam gave them advice on how to destroy/breach Israel's NATIONAL security. the advice was to make Israel sin, so that God will be displeased with Israel. So they sent women to seduce the israelites and make them commit fornication. God judged Israel for this and 23000 Israelites died. Now that is alot of trouble where there was none. That's why the command came for israel to avenge. you don't get smiles and roses when your actions result in 23000 deaths, you reap a War. You seem aware of the rest of the story, only the female children were spared. It would be inconsistent or maybe ignorant to assume that the female children were kept as wives. One they were children, and the Israelites weren't popular for marrying outside their nation, at least not at this period. It's more consistent to see that they kept them as slaves, unlike the 7nations of canaan where no life was spared. Isaiah 14:2  And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the LORD for servants and handmaids: and they shall take them captives, whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors.
If ever they wanted an 'outsider'/captive for a wife, there were formalties and protocols that they observed, it wasn't just a wild party as you paint it (Deuteronomy 21v10-14). Any issues unaddressed please post/re-post if you please.

It is not a gathering of christians. You don't make calls for salvation in a gathering of christians. I understand it is a gathering of people as many as can come.
Plus there's nothing wrong with a gathering of christians (Hebrews 10v25).
Christianity Etc › Re: RCCG Invite You All To December Holy Ghost Congress 2010, Jesus welcome you by Image123(m): 12:47pm On Nov 20, 2010
There's still no better place to be, where else could they go?
No human can save, only Jesus can truly save. I've seen people who continue to hear God's Word on repentance and judgement and grace but who are yet to be saved. Or who didn't respond immediately. There are some who go to this meetings and testify of been saved, healed, Spirit filled and so on. So many receive a 'faith boost' when they hear 'men of God', fact. So abeg free them, or 'remove your eyes away from there'.

Kunle, that's needless. The OP just posted about measures being taken by the church to combat the traffic. You should for once say "I was glad when they said, let us go to the house of God", or like your people say, take your eyes away from there.
Plus, would you rather have people be with father christmas then, or with some 'music artiste' star?

Krayola:
The case in the bible is like a mother telling her kids never to steal and then going with them, in fact leading them, on a shoplifting spree.
In this case, God is not under the law, He is not just The Law. He is above The Law. You can't excuse my executioner friend, and condemn your Maker.
Christianity Etc › Re: Is Marrying More Than One Wife A Sin by Image123(m): 2:31pm On Nov 18, 2010
does the bible require that a polygamist who becomes born again send away his other wives? I don't think so.
Maybe and maybe not. It depends on the revelation of righteousness. That's why it's dangerous to laugh at or discourage someone who does something for righteousness' sake. Before his Master, he may stand(cf Phinehas) and has his extra Reward.
But one thing that must be added is that, IF a man seperates from his extra 'wives', he should not cut off care and provision for them and their children. It's the summary of many things i might love to say on the above.

Christianity Etc › Re: Seven Women to a Man? (Isaiah 4:1) by Image123(m): 1:56pm On Nov 18, 2010
It's referring to a time in the future, a time of tribulation. Women are naturally jealous to share their man, but the deaths will be so much, and men so scarce, that 7women would gladly agree to a man. It's a judgement period that should be read in context with the 'shy away' Isaiah 3 chapter.

^Then again, my executioner friend must be a mass murderer by your logics. It's miraculous that he walks free right in front of THE LAW.

I will help you with this, don't worry. Guys, it seems the 'beating' is still very fresh in the mind and body. It has not entered participle 'beaten up' stage. These things take time you know, from beat to beating, then beated before beaten. D comes before N. And C as in 'Ceased' comes before S as in 'Seized'. Forgive my guy.

The bible talks about false teachers and false brethren coming into the body of christ.  These individuals will attack structures in the church, speak against men of God, try to win peoples approval by claiming they are fighting for the masses.
deny his lordship by rejecting the authority of the word.
These are individuals that brings public shame to the body of christ. They will have no respect for authorities in the church. They say evil things about what they don't understand

On those kings David and Solomon them-those are notorious polys. But they suffered for it. If anything, that was their 'lowlight'. David had TERRIBLE family problemS as a result. Solomon in all his wisdom handed over to a foolish akotileta of a son. If those are not enough condemnations of polygamy, well, i really don't know what is.
And by the way, by The Way, a greater than Solomon, Jonah and Moses combined together has come in Jesus. Infact, when Peter mistakenly hinted on equalling Jesus, the Law and the Prophets by making 3tabernacles, God did not allow him to land before replying "This is my beloved Son: hear him"
What did the beloved say again? Please, note the bolded more
Matthew 19v4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, 5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they two shall be one flesh? 6 Wherefore they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
Note the singular and search for the plural.
Here is the cream
V9 And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.
A man that marries another commits adultery, even if he dumps the first so that they can still be TWO, not to mention when they are THREE. I think that one will be adultery, thuggery and polygamy adding sorrow to an already sorrowful world. Time would fail me to mention Peter and Paul and all the apostles.
