Christianity Etc › Re: Pastor William Kumuyi (Deeper Life) Remarries by Image123(m): 8:09am On Oct 25, 2010
Marriage is not all about knowing(as the Bible puts it). Someone is talking about pastor mrs reverend, people just talk to use up kilobytes. Even the man in question or his late wife are not addressed that way. They say someone married 18months, they complained, they say another married 4years, they complained, his wife gave birth, they complained. Even if he died, they'll still complain.
If the story is true, i say to pastor kumuyi happy and fruitful married life pastor sir. Let them say

Must kumuyi get married? No. Can he? Yes. He lives by scriptures, not by popular demand.
Romans 7v2 For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband. 3 So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.
He is scripturally free to marry once the wife is dead. And as the above verse says, the wife is free to marry once the husband is dead.
Children of God are not nollyhollywood stars living to the gallery. This people are men of God. Men, humans. And as long as he is a man, there is that therefore in him that makes a man leave His father and mother and cleave to his wife. It's actually doctrine of devils and seducing spirits that forbid to marry according to Timothy.

1 Corinthians 7:15 (New Living Translation)
15 But if the husband or wife who isn’t a believer insists on leaving, let them go. In such cases the Christian husband or wife is no longer bound to the other, for God has called you to live in peace.

I say let the reader understand. If the Holy Spirit has a place in your life, ask him to explain to the scriptures to you!

Jesus Christ has come with grace, so because of His grace, nobody needs to be killed again for not keeping the sabbath. And it wasn't a personal judgement i.e you don't just go and start stoning people, you take the case before the judges, who were to carry out the judgement IF the accused was found guilty.

I think Jeremiah was a prophet not an historian or praphet

An angel descended before me and told me to preach about dragons in empty spaces, he/it/she opened my eyes and i saw them.
So i'm warning you guys, there are no atoms but dragons in empty spaces. do not reason it out, just accept just take this blind step and BELIEVE!
That was not an angel kay. It's maybe just a mild fever, you don't have the c.v for angelic visitations, and the message was not worth a warning or of ANY import.

Genesis 1v1. In the beginning God CREATED. Why on earth would somebody with an affinity to a church claim it is not necessarily creation but recreation? Is controversy your only tactic for winning people over.

Most of those instrumentalist are masters holder that work in the house of God 24/7 So are we now saying that because they are serving the house of God they should not eat? They have home to take care of they work for church 24/7 so they have to be paid for the service rendered, simple,

ushers, teachers, drama etc, are all part time workers.
So other workers in church are primary school leavers se? They have no family to take care of. They work 24/7. Try to re.read your post mr.

Christianity Etc › Re: Is It A Sin?: by Image123(m): 12:11pm On Oct 20, 2010
Everybody is not supposed to have his own brand of christianity. Jesus is the way, not a way but the way. That's why the Word and Spirit of God are meant to guide us. Many are guided by some other thing but the Word of God is plain on marriage and divorce. Marriage, they say, is the oldest institution. It's been tested and the solution provided by God's Word.
Take for example, your child says he hates you and disowns you. Would you give him up without 'a fight'? Would you not work on mending the relationship? Yet, marriage is a deeper relationship cos they are NO MORE TWO BUT ONE. But lazy people are like "I'll get another, there's so many women out there, don't love anymore". People who know better would work at rebuilding. Hope i 'narrowed' the angle?

Christianity Etc › Re: Is It A Sin?: by Image123(m): 12:05am On Oct 20, 2010
^you tried too hard to be a christian imo. All you need to do is ONLY BELIEVE. It's a life of rest not struggle, grace not works, faith not flexings.
People are of different abilities yes, but we're all built with the latent ability/potency to do certain things, and where we're lacking, we can come before the throne of grace(God) and get the needed help.
In marriage, you're not paying for someone's crime. It is your crime cos you're NO MORE TWO BUT ONE. Marriage is SACRED. You've vowed for better for worse, till death and so on. You've had a covenant, a deep agreement. That's why one has to be careful in the choice of a marriage partner and not frivolous. Working at your marriage should ensure that things don't ball totally out of control, and yet if they eventually do, there's nothing impossible. Like the case i gave earlier, the woman was already gone gone, but He rebuilt his life. There's a lot prayer can do, but you may not appreciate that so lets leave it at working to rebuild a life.

That's a tough call given that the gospels are over very convincing already. But i'll try then, but you'll need to learn some patience o, i can't guarantee immediate answers, don't have much time on nl these days for 'elaborations'. Rephrase your question, break it down into simpler term, seems a bit too general.

Christianity Etc › Re: Is It A Sin?: by Image123(m): 10:10pm On Oct 19, 2010
Talking about ability, there was a well to do man who travelled from home for about 2years. During His absence, his wife was unfaithful and went away with one of his best friends. He lost his wife, two children and his best friend. He became so full of hatred and unforgiveness until it began to affect him. Then he forgave by the power of Jesus who lives in him. You may call it a miracle but they got reconciled and stronger and lovelier. That's the sort of potential we've got, much more through Christ.
Christianity Etc › Re: Did God Really Write The Bible? by Image123(m): 9:51pm On Oct 19, 2010
Kay 17:
Pls then provide here on this thread, an encompassing coherent story of the resurrection of Jesus, the happenings about the tomb.

And also find that balance in Judas' death.
And that 'encompassing coherent story' will make you believe that God exists and that He wrote the bible?
Christianity Etc › Re: Is It A Sin?: by Image123(m): 9:38pm On Oct 19, 2010
^No name calling, no personality attack na, i speak the truth that's all. I'm not in the habit of massaging cancer.
How do i want you to understand all that? Well the idea you and your like pass is that you know it all. Like you've been there done that, read that all and heard it all, and come to the conclusion that faith is useless. It's when we stir you a little that it becomes clear to all that you've never even tasted it(eternal life) before, neither taken time to unbiasedly study scriptures i.e Bible for yourselves. What most of you live on are articles, stories and copy paste.
To your question again, if your wife divorced you, you could reconcile and rebuild your relationship. God has built us with ability to do that. Utilise your potential, and if you need some help, go to the throne of grace and get help in time of need. That's Bible by the way, and that's my manual for living.

So what? Good management and administration is not necessarily an indication that an organisation is from God. Obviously from your post, the founder is no more. It can happen to anyone, only God is eternal.
Christianity Etc › Re: Is It A Sin?: by Image123(m): 12:53pm On Oct 19, 2010
Lol? The point is lost on you. The point was that an average Bible reader(believer or unbeliever) knows about where Jesus said Moses permitted divorce but from the beginning it was not so, what God has joined together let NOT MAN put asunder.
If you put it upside down and think it was OT and not NT, that's worse than a schoolboy error.
How do you want me to answer your question? From the perspective of a God fearing human or from a disbeliever's perspective? And what again is your point?
Christianity Etc › Re: Is It A Sin?: by Image123(m): 7:56am On Oct 19, 2010

Christianity Etc › Re: Is It A Sin?: by Image123(m): 11:56pm On Oct 18, 2010
Unfortunately for me? Wetin be my own?
Truth is it's not solely up to them what they do with their lives. God, God, God. Judgement day is coming, and those who disobey God will be punished. On the other hand, they'll be destroying themselves and their kids by taking selfish actions like divorce. It's just a short term relief at best. How amiable are the laws and ways of God, superb quality.
Christianity Etc › Re: Is It A Sin?: by Image123(m): 11:39pm On Oct 18, 2010
Kay 17:
An agreement can do and undo. A woman subjected to abuse, should have the opportunity to opt out. An incompatible couple should be dismantled, rather than cause more damage. A marriage should be one of joy, not sadness and compulsion.
You can also disagree to agree, heard of that? Conflicts have possibilities of being resolved.
Did you say 'incompatible'? Excuse me. They were not incompatible during courtship abi na dating, during wedding day and honeymoon when they were grinning from ear to ear. It's when they are to get up and work at their marriage/relationship that they suddenly realise incompatibility. Ridiculously, some is after bearing/raising kids. Ever heard that marriage is not all through a bed of roses? Again, a christian has access to grace to breeze past these challenges, and come out of the fire shining not burnt out/up. Jesus is so very much

unlike the attention seeking hypocrite and closeted gay guy above me the male- attention-seeking closeted gay poster above me is a typical example
Common, behave yourself. This is the religion section, you don't have to talk about your sinful lovelife here. Take your human rights elsewhere or repent. You need to be told, a bleak future awaits you except you repent. Jesus loves you too
