Poor R-wave progression and infarct size Among 53 patients with prior anterior MI, 33 patients had PRWP, and the remaining 20 patients did not (Table 2). ECG and SPECT images in cases of the presence or absence of PRWP are shown in Fig. 1. Patients with PRWP had larger sum of defect score (17.5 ± 8.6 vs 7.6 ± 10.3, p < 0.001) and lower LVEF (46.1 ± 9.8% vs 55.2 ± 12.9%, p < 0.01) than those without. The sum of R-wave in lead V1 to V6 inversely correlated with the sum of defect score (r = − 0.56, p < 0.001), and positively correlated with left ventricular ejection fraction (r = 0.45, p < 0.001) (Fig. 2).
Poor R-wave progression and myocardial infarct size after anterior myocardial infarction in the coronary intervention era Satoshi Kurisu,⁎ Toshitaka Iwasaki, Noriaki Watanabe, Hiroki Ikenaga, Takashi Shimonaga, Tadanao Higaki, Ken Ishibashi, Yoshihiro Dohi, Yukihiro Fukuda, and Yasuki Kihara Author information Article notes Copyright and License information Disclaimer Go to: Abstract Background Regeneration of R-wave or disappearance of Q-wave sometimes occurs after myocardial infarction (MI) especially in the coronary intervention era. We assessed the impact of poor R-wave progression (PRWP) or residual R-wave in precordial leads on myocardial infarct size in patients with prior anterior MI treated with coronary intervention.
Methods Fifty-three patients with prior anterior MI and 20 age- and sex-matched patients without underwent electrocardiogram (ECG), myocardial perfusion single photon emission tomography (SPECT) and echocardiography. Poor R-wave progression (PRWP) was defined as RV3 ≤ 3 mm.
Results R-wave was significantly lower in all precordial leads in patients with prior anterior MI than those without. Among 53 patients with prior anterior MI, 33 patients had PRWP, and the remaining 20 patients did not. Patients with PRWP had larger sum of defect score (17.5 ± 8.6 vs 7.6 ± 10.3, p < 0.001) and lower left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) (46.1 ± 9.8% vs 55.2 ± 12.9%, p < 0.01) than those without. The sum of R-wave in lead V1 to V6 inversely correlated with the sum of defect score (r = − 0.56, p < 0.001), and positively correlated with LVEF (r = 0.45, p < 0.001).
Conclusion Our data suggested that residual R-wave during the follow-up period reflected myocardial infarct size and left ventricular systolic function well in patients with prior anterior MI treated with coronary intervention.

I understand how you feel. Relationship, especially marriage can turn soar but committing suicide could make your children hate your memory for ever. Do you know that if you die your wife will re-marry and your children would suffer neglect and denial. MY FRIEND, NO WOMAN IS WORTH DYING FOR. I would advise you call in members of your church or her family members to go into the matter and speak to her. SUICIDE OR DIVORCE MAY NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. STOP BLAMING BUHARI, THE PROBLEM WITH NIGERIA ARE NIGERIANS THEMSELVES. WE ARE ALL PART OF THE GOVERNMENT. WE NEED TO REFORM OUR MINDSET. LOOK AT THE WAY NIGERIANS ARE REGARDED ALL OVER THE WORLD! SEE HOW OUR SOUTH AFRICAN BROTHERS REGARD US! THE PROBLEM IS NOT IN OUR STARS BUT IN OURSELVES! UNTIL WE CHANGE OUR MINDSET ABOUT THE COUNTRY, NIGERIA WOULD REMAIN WHERE IT IS! LET US REFORM THIS NEGATIVE MENTALITY ABOUT ASKING WHAT THE COUNTRY CAN DO FOR US AND DO POSITIVE THINGS FOR THE COUNTRY'S GROWTH. PROFESSORS AND TECHNOLOGISTS SHOULD BRING ABOUT NEW INNOVATIONS THAT CAN CHANGE THE COUNTRY POSITIVELY RATHER THAN ASK FOR PAY RISE TOO OFTEN. THE NIGERIAN YOUTHS ARE VERY CREATIVE AND RESOURCEFUL; LET THEM USE THEIR TALENTS TO BRING ABOUT GROWTH IN THE COUNTRY INSTEAD OF PROMOTING HATE. WE NEED PEACE MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE NOW. THIS WAY NIGERIA WOULD BE A BETTER PLACE TO LIVE IN. THE MAJOR PROBLEM I THINK WE ARE FACING NOW IN NIGERIA IS TRIBALISM. LET'S SEE OURSELVES AS ONE UNITED ENTITY AND MOVE AHEAD. THE WESTERN COUNTRIES WANT TO CASH-IN ON PROTESTS IN NIGERIA TO MAKE MORE MONEY FOR THEMSELVES VIA FALL IN OUR OIL PRODUCTION. WE MUST NOT ALLOW THIS. mubzynani: Nigeria isn't working. Most youths are worse than the government. SO stop your ramble rousing SoBright101: See twisting. Are they justifying the killings that is happening in north by boko haram? It was the army that first blame the dead for not taking permission before going to farm, now this.
Beware Nigerians. This is the time to know and understand the true identity of those who cause tribalism on here, they are paid agents, they are neither from east or west. They have more than twenty monikers, they would create tribal related topics and make tribal comments with different monikers to cause chaos between southerners. Though, they have no conscience but you can try to educate them or better ignore them. They are easy to identify, use your head brothers. They dominate this platform. They are evil and restless until their aim is achieved.
Are you satisfied with the status quo of this country? Nigerian youths, prepare to make this country a better one, don't be silent, speak up. Enlightened your neighbors, community about the situation of this country, educate them about their right to demad good governance from their local representatives to the national level. They can't kill us all. You may think you are comfortable now but remember the monsters the bad government policies are making, the hungry masses would search for survival by all means, they won't mind hurting others for survival. The comfortable innocent people who refused to speak against evil would also feel the heat. |
