Wagwanbrethren:Exactly, same way the US shouldn't dictate to another sovereign state just because they got independence before her. Each country to their own like & dislike, if the majority of the citizens aren't okay with it, they know how to react. After all, it's a democracy where everyone will have a say but the majority will have their way according to the rule of the game. If the US so cherishes & cares about the few people affected, they should offer them free entry visa. At least, that will be much productive rather than fighting the collective will or choice of the majority of the people. This move of theirs isn't such a wise one especially now that BRICS is ongoing. |
EyeCumInPiece:Custom benefited from it. Though, theirs is a piece of cake compare to what NNPC move been the sole importer who, import the product, record the quantity brought in & also pay themselves the subsidized amount. Imagine paying yourself for a job done & assessed by you with the community money in your care. |
Wawelexy:You obviously miss the point. First the term merger simply means "The act or process of merging two or more parts into a single unit." Thus it states that there won't be two bodies like, DSS & EFCC in your example. The clear example for a merger is like the Nigeria police where you have a department that are assigned for regular crime & those specifically for traffic violators. In that case, both will be classified as police reporting to the IG yet with different functions. This is why you see black & black & what will popularly call yellow fever. Those on Orange coloured shirt .Now going by the proposal, the government would only recognize Custom & attached others mentioned as a department, leading to just one oga who gives order. |

Finestgurlie: That was how they carried Buhari with over hype to where he didn't know!!! The petty cattle rearer had to start saying "I am not aware up & down". |
Racoon:He will surely end up even worse of like others. This isn't because he desired it but the weak system will force him into it. Nigeria has always emboldened & strengthened individuals over the system. And absolute power they say corrupt absolutely. Not until there is proper check and balance in the system, nothing will change. |

Buhari made it a free for all |
It's all politics of interest. Buhari govt almost turned Akpapio a whole uncommon governor to common minister. ![]() |
"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." James 1:27. That defines what region means to Him, emphasizing on what to do. Re-echoed in Matt 25:35-46. |
Rolings:Though I am from the South-South, I will personal call out BAT if he doesn't follow the pattern Buhari created in that regard. All head of security, finance, revenue and other sensitive positions should be reserved for his tribe's men. As long as they are the ones he considers most competent & he can rely on. |
lexy2014:If we all buy okrika. No one will be a local tailor to make dresses. Hence the job created in that aspect will be closed down. You will see pant, bra, towels, etc among what is called okrika. You will also see many of those clothes best for disposal. |

MizMyColi:You forgot to mention that those clothes aren't shipped in volume from elsewhere. Meanwhile, kokubo clothes have always been a contraband item for long. In as much as, items should be affordable to all. We shouldn't also forget not to kill local production by allowing too much of what we already have. Though, even the locals are greedy with pricing. If you visit the port and see what comes in, you would call the country a bin. Inferiority complex is an issue here. |

Laple0541:Nigeria that has been experiencing worse since independence. |

SalamRushdie:Don't forget it isn't govt owned but private. A private businessman is highly motivated by profit in view. |
What are you waiting for? |
YouandiAllofus:This is why I was laughing at some people's ignorance when they were solely blaming the CBN governor for the Naira redesigning policy. They forget he is just an employee who must take orders from his boss. And irrespective of how sound his opinion might be, once his boss has a different view even with his weak brain. Then he can't have his way. Unfortunately, Nigerians don't resign because most only care about the pay. |
ManWater:Age should naturally not be an issue if the system was working with time & setting realistic requirements. I.e. no delays in schooling, available jobs after schooling, etc. |
The question sould rather be, how do I go back to my ex since no other man seems interested in me. |
can you whistle with powdered garri in your mouth?! |
Good |
Acekidc4:An average Nigerian is sincerely praying for what they can truly call a country. The people weren't willing to gamble with more political years because the one Buhari wasted was enough. Thus they wanted the candidate with the "highest odd" even though none could be trusted 100%. And those that disliked & distrusted Tinubu did so because he sponsored and supported Buhari who was a complete failure, tribalistic, corrupt & a waste of time. So if Tinubu continues in this light, reduce the wastage in government, tighten their own belt, improve power, etc. He will naturally attract the support of all except the political criminals who are only after their greed. |
