There is a very high level of despair & distrust for the government. It has always been there with Nigeria politicians, it only increased significantly since Buhari turned out to be a failure. Until the people start seeing physical evidence of sacrifice from those in power & result from action plan. What you call hate which is lack of hope & high level of distrust will continue to increase.

Several laws & policies exist in Nigeria already yet there's very insignificant compliance and implementation due to lack of political will power, conflict of cultural & religious beliefs. The traditional rulers you mentioned as a stakeholder to the policy implementation are the first offenders. Secondly, China, US & even Indian have far larger population yet Nigeria overtook Indian in poverty level. What matter is a responsible government that can convert the population which is even a workforce into productive asset.

What the government needs to do, and they ought to have done that already, is significantly increase salaries of employees and provide other reasonable palliatives (Not N5billion to each state and some trucks of rice!! What would the people do when they finish eating the rice?) to cusshion the effects of the removal. Provide incentives to businesses and of course businesses can also sort themselves out by increasing prices of what they offer to cover increased costs

Same day he announced subsidy removal, he ought to have announced wage increases. If subsidy is being removed and which is going to save the country trillions and benefit the country over the long term, it makes sense that a good chunk of that savings be applied to cushion the immediate harsh effects of the withdrawal immediately and up at least a year......Employees and businesses will eventually adjust but that will take some time...

Subsidy which one can also classify as an indirect palliative was removed because of corruption. Yet the govt is rolling out the same palliative in a different form and you think the same people who profited from the subsidy have automatically vanished or repented overnight not to also steal the palliative. You forget that an increase in wages will come with it's own inflammation especially when we are a consuming nation. Every country in the world have one or more aspects that is subsidized base on its essential need & effect on the people. Govt insincerity & bad leadership is what is fueling the porous system in Nigeria. A thief can't possibly question or arrest his fellow that is why none of the presidents have been able to boldly mention those they claim are looting the subsidy funds.
