All this is because the country has not been serious with proper documentation & data of the citizens. The major problem has always been inefficiency of the government. Once there is a serious, decisive & no nonsense government in place, everything will fall in line. Until then, let Nigerians keep enjoying the political ride as usual.

A lot of constitutional amendment needs to be done. If the fg don't decide at will the election of governors. I don't see why the governors are to empowered to regulate the Lg that is supposed to be the third tier of government which is even supposed to be the closest to the power.

Nigeria really do need to declare a state of emergency in the educational sector, at least so that people can understand the difference between hatred & the role of opposition in a democratic setting. Opposition in politics helps to put pressure on the incumbent to function better hence the criticism. Even with a good policy, many will still have a different perspective & views of doing things. Same thing Tinubu did by demonizing GEJ subsidy removal in 2012 all to install a clueless man for 8 years in other for him to have his turn thereafter. Yet he calls it politics not minding the harm done to the citizens. Though, Nigeria's politics is more of greed any ways even worse for most of their supporters as their only compensation is religion & ethnicity.
Democrat & Republican will always have a different view on a particular subject. But above all is what they offer the people. So Tinubu should focus on delivery what is best for the people, many sane persons need result not campaigns after all the trust level is very low for him.

Do what needs to be done but k!ll that initial nonsense about physically removing the prepaid meters to upgrade them then placing the consumer on estimated billing.

That is unacceptable despite some miscreants blindly supporting such action.

If the metres must be manually upgraded, then they should be done at the residence & immediately reinstalled.

If replacement is required, bring the replacement & fix it immediately.

Exactly, mine is one of those first set of prepaid metre which was fully paid for via compulsory initial deposit & followed by subsequent deductions when I recharged to cover the metre cost. Why should the govt now remove my property in whatever name. If there were any element of sincerity, they should act as you have rightly suggested. They have refused metering some residents because of the estimated billing fraud they enjoy. No sane person would truth the govt at least not with the bad reputation they have kept over the years, which keep getting worse by every govt that come on board.

There is a very high level of despair & distrust for the government. It has always been there with Nigeria politicians, it only increased significantly since Buhari turned out to be a failure. Changing the key players in 2015 was the little sign to hope once more, but it turned out a disaster, hence the major reason people are fleeing in drove. Until the people start seeing physical evidence of sacrifice from those in power & result from action plan. What you call hate which is lack of hope & high level of distrust will continue to increase.

Several laws & policies exist in Nigeria already yet there's very insignificant compliance and implementation due to lack of political will power, conflict of cultural & religious beliefs. The traditional rulers you mentioned as a stakeholder to the policy implementation are the first offenders. Secondly, China, US & even Indian have far larger population yet Nigeria overtook Indian in poverty level. What matter is a responsible government that can convert the population which is even a workforce into productive asset.

Sadly, her move is a sign of hardship in the land. Growing up, corn & most agricultural produces were never bought. You could easily get them freely within the mini-farm around the house or even the main farm owned by you or good neighbors. Even life stocks aren't left out as they are purely organically breeded. A sizable house in a very large compound where plants give the house the natural coolness. Modernity has come and of course with it's associated challenges, even worse in Nigeria as the country is neither here nor there.

Pre-May 2015 was a big gambling mistake Nigeria made by electing someone who's only interest was to enjoy the largess of public funds & power to satisfy his own selfishness. GEJ was doing well compare to the criminals that came after him.
