A sovereign state that cannot take care of itself, is that one a state?

When you want to support your evil atrocities, you will suddenly remember that you're a sovereign state, only to turn yourself into a beggar and pauper when it comes to foreign loans. Spits!!
Let the small boy be typing nonsense, he is still feeding off his parents. No country is without issues. Even the US election isn't totally free from some irregularities. The rule is simple, If you must steal, then do so very smartly. But for a professor to do it so cheaply & carelessly is a shame to his academic exposure, and a letdown on sane Nigerians.

One important question Nigerians are not asking is thus . After removing these subsidies can the government give us both short-term and long-term plans on what to do with all these funds realized from the removal so we can monitor the judicious use of it?

Or they are just creating more funds to be embezzled.
The bolded is the case.

At least he didn't caused single traffic I drove in this area coming to mainland today...Not like Jonathan wife that will be causing traffic everywhere.
Since the removal of the so called fuel subsidy or fuel price increase or fraud, cars have drastically reduced on Nigeria roads. To think that he is entering Lagos will even make others to park theirs and reschedule their movements for fear of possible traffic which will affect fuel usage. It's easy to connect the dots.

Hell no

What da fuckkk is wrong with Ndlea

Main reason i will do everything possible to delve into politics
Like play like play....i go find my way into the legislative arm of government....
then boom...i propose a bill to legalize weed very important
Then boom again i go propse another bill make all religious institutions dey pay tax...any religious institutions that help in government project like building roads then we give them tax incentives ....

Give all my real niggarz contract
Unfortunately, you can't because reasonable percentage won't allow you. Now here is why, first weed has price value because of its legal status. This is what those guys want so they can continue to cash out since there is no market competition. Most persons running the deal are highly placed & connected, who are directly in active service or have one they remit to, so they use that backing for easy business. Imagine an escort vehicle moving weed within the country, they can't be intercepted obviously. I think NDLEA can only go after newbies with little impact, maybe amplify what is discovered originally to make the catch looks big. Or perhaps redisplay some already existing exhibit to look active, this is Nigeria. grin grin

On religion, the politicians are even sponsoring religious bodies to maintain their activities. Imagine a govt funding Haj & pilgrim for what?! They know the religious men are helping them in distracting the citizens from focusing on them for basic govt responsibility.

Wagwanbrethren:

I wonder why people are going crazy over what two adults choose to do with themselves.
Exactly, same way the US shouldn't dictate to another sovereign state just because they got independence before her. Each country to their own like & dislike, if the majority of the citizens aren't okay with it, they know how to react. After all, it's a democracy where everyone will have a say but the majority will have their way according to the rule of the game. If the US so cherishes & cares about the few people affected, they should offer them free entry visa. At least, that will be much productive rather than fighting the collective will or choice of the majority of the people. This move of theirs isn't such a wise one especially now that BRICS is ongoing.

See yeye people that their gross incompetence at protecting our borders against petrol smugglers was one of the major reasons they are suffering us with subsidy removal.
Custom benefited from it. Though, theirs is a piece of cake compare to what NNPC move been the sole importer who, import the product, record the quantity brought in & also pay themselves the subsidized amount. Imagine paying yourself for a job done & assessed by you with the community money in your care.
Politics / Re: Tinubu Economic Advisers Propose Customs, NIMASA, FIRS Merger by IMASTEX: 8:58am On Jun 16, 2023
Wawelexy:
This might eventually leads to a power tussles among these organisations just like that of the DSS Vs EFCC, LASTMA and Road Safety etc... Despite knowing each others's duties, one body will still intentionally carryout the duties of the other just because of personal gain and not because of patriotism, and this will always tell on the citizens.... So I think they should just allow them remain a separate body....

You obviously miss the point. First the term merger simply means "The act or process of merging two or more parts into a single unit." Thus it states that there won't be two bodies like, DSS & EFCC in your example. The clear example for a merger is like the Nigeria police where you have a department that are assigned for regular crime & those specifically for traffic violators. In that case, both will be classified as police reporting to the IG yet with different functions. This is why you see black & black & what will popularly call yellow fever. Those on Orange coloured shirt grin grin.
Now going by the proposal, the government would only recognize Custom & attached others mentioned as a department, leading to just one oga who gives order.

What an intimidating resume but will he also ended in the inglorious way as his predecessors? Only time will tell.
He will surely end up even worse of like others. This isn't because he desired it but the weak system will force him into it. Nigeria has always emboldened & strengthened individuals over the system. And absolute power they say corrupt absolutely. Not until there is proper check and balance in the system, nothing will change.

That defines what region means to Him, emphasizing on what to do. Re-echoed in Matt 25:35-46.

Though I am from the South-South, I will personal call out BAT if he doesn't follow the pattern Buhari created in that regard. All head of security, finance, revenue and other sensitive positions should be reserved for his tribe's men. As long as they are the ones he considers most competent & he can rely on.

Wait oh oga. How is okrika a threat to local production?
If we all buy okrika. No one will be a local tailor to make dresses. Hence the job created in that aspect will be closed down. You will see pant, bra, towels, etc among what is called okrika. You will also see many of those clothes best for disposal.

MizMyColi:

Even abroad, there are thrift shops, really big ones where people go to buy gently used (second hand) items. Visit these places and you'll find that people from all walks of life patronize them.

You forgot to mention that those clothes aren't shipped in volume from elsewhere. Meanwhile, kokubo clothes have always been a contraband item for long. In as much as, items should be affordable to all. We shouldn't also forget not to kill local production by allowing too much of what we already have. Though, even the locals are greedy with pricing. If you visit the port and see what comes in, you would call the country a bin. Inferiority complex is an issue here.
