Nigerians aren't over religious for nothing if merit & hard-work was what it takes. The reality is that at this point you're only in the hand of God, connection or the cash you have to offer. This is Nigeria! |
NNPC was the sole importer of petroleum product. They determine the quantity imported, pay themselves subsidy with the approval of the minister of petroleum. Don't ask me who that was. Now another ministry of the govt "financial" says the amount paid for subsidy is fraud because the quantity subsidized & supplied is far lesser in reality. So who pocket the difference?! The govt is the biggest scam! The marketers they are blaming for diverting fuel to neighboring countries is child's play. Meanwhile, it is still the govt agencies that let it pass thr routes. |
Okay |
wahahlawahala:The same way her father supported GEJ to remove the same subsidy for far lesser impact compare to today. Maybe by now, he wouldn't be faced with the removal. |
nairalanda1:How do they move these products passed the security, if they aren't getting their cut. Nigerians have also be smuggling in rice, cars, etc from Benin Republic. The issue is tied to a weak institution. How can Nigeria be said to be consuming 60m litres of PMS daily?! And a reasonable govt won't investigate & probe such huge number. But go ahead to subsidy if not that the same govt is corrupt. Well, Nigeria should also be ready to welcome most of them as they will migrate into the country. |
Okay |
triple996:You can't still compare a developed country with a strong institution & system in place with a country that is yet to even have a proper foundation. Though he is obviously physically unfit yet the country won't suffer basic needs because of the strong system. But for the case of Nigeria, almost everything starts & ends at the presidency because of too much concentration of power at the centre. |
GeneralPula:This is because the government has created a distrust among the people, hence can never be trusted by sane minds. Moreover it's more of a game to distract the people from resisting the subsidy removal. A serious government will start by upgrading the refinery before moving to remove the subsidy after all that was the reason they all including BAT resisted GEJ then. He had the option to make the country consumes her locally refined product or fix power before addressing subsidy. Where will the money come from, of course from the wastage, loot and borrowing as usual. |
The only reasonable palliative is to significantly improve power supply to at least 22 hours per day. Any other form is looting in disguise. Power will significantly reduce household & business expenses for fuel. |

Hisbah:Same way he supported Jonathan for wanting to remove the same subsidy?! With all the support Buhari got at least for his first tenure wasn't he still a capital failure?! It's actually not about seeking support from the people who obviously have been supportive and expecting things to turnaround for good. But the problem is that those in government have no good intentions for the country. |
GeneralPula:My permutation is that, the independent marketers want to cash out from yesterday till end of June. So they can make enough and use the money to buy at a price that will be determined by Dangote as he rolls out his product in July. It's a game plan by those in government. |
KunleAkingbadeh:Seconded, it's his time to enjoy. |
KingOfIsoko1:The northern elites did a perfect job on them using mental & physical poverty & religion as a tool for easy control. |
Well, they have never been directly affected by the state of the nation. So they care about their greed not the citizens. |
Just a good use of A4 paper with the heading "resignation" could have saved you all this nonsense. |
It's all a game plan & politics. |
Yourprick:Buhari absconded for 6 months and was paid in full, plus the huge amount used to keep his jet on standby, etc. No double standard. |
inoki247:Who do you think knows the major fuel stations? Who are the law enforcement agencies that will enforce laws against them?! The country has, is and will continue to be at the mercy of God. Since the nation continue to build individuals stronger than the system. |
Advancedpenis:And the most corrupt & clueless president ever. |
Okay |
He has truly done marvelous well, more than anyone outside his immediate circle can think, image, see, feel or notice. Keep it up Sir, may the great rewarder of good remember you according to your great job for the country & citizens. |
Congratulations to them. Meanwhile, so person wants a citizenship exchange. ![]() On a serious note, these people are already cashing out big time, they just want that document to increase & validate their options. |
Okay |
Uniquetani1:I don't quite agree. I think the awareness level is still low. Secondly, the manufacturers are concealing the actual quantity used. Thanks to the ever docile institutions of government that should vet, setup standards & regulate their activities. |

tell us what Buhari or any other politician haven't said before. Oga! You're already there, whether you went through the window, backdoor or roof is up to you. Going by the general systemic failure of various institutions of government nothing can be done at this point. So just mark your time like Buhari & become the president you vowed to become. Meanwhile, tell your boys to stop spamming my sms box with useless messages seeking for support when none is required. Or is it now that you've decided to start a campaign proper Buhari had massive support & co-operation during the first tenure yet failed 100%. I wonder how yours would be with so much doubts. You can only change that not with any promises but actions. My 2 cents advise, tell your politicians waiting to continuing feasting on the emptied pot by Buhari to stay away at least for the next 1 year and focus on using technocrats to mend things before they can come in to eat as expected. That is if you even truly care.
|
Politics: You write bubu publicly to release him for your political gimmick. And call him privately to consider the letter politically motivated. ![]() |
As usual, when it favours you it is good. But when otherwise, you switch opinion. Truth be told, he had 8 years to say this nonsense but decided to keep mute because he was perhaps hoping he could become a substantive minister. Now that the era is over, he is stylishly saying all this so as to gag the next administration into considering him for a "full minister". Now assuming he becomes one and had a minister for state attached to him. Watch how he would go 360 against his formal view. ![]() |
