Rest!!!!
You don try
We have heard you.
Yesterday, a part of an argument was that Israelis were not Jews, I went ahead to state a part of the history and how they are Jews. The only question you could ask was how it absolved them of war crimes.
Like I said rest, you are at best a 100 level student who thinks he has arrived. You know next to nothing.
Gbadebo you've won...are you happy?

You're the only one here with a deep seated inferiority complex, always trying to measure up

The only problem is you came to the wrong thread, one of the most sophisticated on Nairaland and ended up being a shrimp in an ocean

As usual, back off when the argument will be lost.
Who's backing off? He said it was a war between two religions (Jews and Muslims) in Palestine and the wider Middle East, I corrected him and he shifted goalposts to Muslim persecution of Christians in Northern Nigeria. I correctly pointed out to him that he's diverging from his initial point and made a misplaced and irrelevant point on local affairs in a foreign affairs thread

How is that backing off?

It seems some of you don't know how to process information, you want to be doing primary school level engagements of 'do me I do you back'

hmmmmm...........let talk about christians in Muslim countries or better christians in northern Nigerian

Bro you are correct ooo.......there is no Muslim on this here
Create a thread for that in the local politics section, this is foreign affairs

You made a claim, I answered and now you're shifting goalposts

One of the reasons why israel supporters here reject what's going on in Gaza as genocide, is because many of them see nothing wrong with genociding Palestinians

About four different pro-israeli posters here have called for wiping out Palestinians from existence, killing everyone including women and children, nuking Palestinians, one even said he'll no longer see anything wrong with the mass slaughter of Palestinians, including children. These are clear calls and support for genocide

Some of them have been called out already, the remaining continue unabated

It's clear which side is driven by hate and which side is rational

This photo don't feel right... Saw it earlier and got a weird feeling and couldn't concentrate after seeing it but I get why though but still don't feel right

It's just like me seeing a photo of kids with real weapons like AK 27 wink and other weapons in Northern Nigeria. Even though they're(Palestine) fighting for independence or even any just cause, it still won't feel right seeing such photo

I just think they(Palestine resistance fighters) should change their methodology abi approach to the matter. Like breed kids with good educational background and influential positions in the West and other regions so they(breed kids) can influence decisions in the world stage instead of just breeding foot soldiers that would end up killed.

Because it's obvious they're no match with Israel considering her(Israel) military resources
The kids of Gaza don't need indoctrination

Thousands of them have been rendered lone survivors, with their entire families killed. Many have had most of their families killed

Virtually all the people of Gaza have lost members of their families

It's inevitable that many will grow up with hate for the state of israel, you would to if that happened to you

according to you, not all 'resistance" supporter here are Muslims....yes. Especially when it is war between two religions and one of the religion launch a surprise attack that include killing, rape and taking children as hostages, all because of Jerusalem and you are supporting that with all your ed.........., Because you are obligated to do so.

And I said they are islamists....... Who want a certain group of people gone into extinction because of difference in religion. We have people like that in some part of Nigerian, we also heard it happen in Syria and Iraq.

Do you get it now or you are part of the Muslims that defend others after their m......... adventure
Let's just pretend Palestinian Christians don't exist or aren't being oppressed by israelis

Go watch Tucker Carlson's interview with Reverend Dr. Isaac Munther, a Palestinian pastor at Christmas Lutheran Church in Bethlehem, and Academic Dean of Bethlehem Bible College

They aren't bound does not mean that they cannot use it.
My friend, that is not how to win an argument.
You simply need to bring another United Nations doc or case law that proves another means by which intent in genocide can be proven and that has been accepted by international courts.
If me and you were arguing in court, would you tell the court not to make its decision based on my submission? No, you simply make a better submission or disprove my submission using methods of that particular case being decided per incuriam or other methods.
Simplicita!!!!!!!
Prove yourself to the Council of Legal Education, not me

My advice remains the same, be humble

Gbadebo19:
It is either you are too proud to accept defeat or just simply don't understand English language. The image clearly states that case law has associated intent with the existence of on organizational plan or policy.
Abeg, if case law has done something, does it not become something you can use to make an argument?
Unfortunately, you said it is just "one of the evidences"
No, it is no longer one of the evidences the moment a court of competent jurisdiction has ruled on it. It has become a point of reference in subsequent legal cases of that nature.
You do know International Courts and tribunals aren't bound by Stare decisis right?

I will be waiting for your response on this image. If you cannot provide one, Nairaland foolish black monkeys are already making your career even as a wannabe lawyer to take a nosedive. grin grin

My honest advice to you:
Don't just read statutes, read case laws. They provide better insights at understanding legal provisions.
You literally talk like an aspiring lawyer, you're just spouting what you learnt as a law student

Gbadebo19:
If at this point, you are still adamant, I don't need a prophet any longer to tell me you are NOT a lawyer.
If you are, you are doomed for failure.
Nairaland foolish boys giving you likes and shares will only destroy your career.
Read the part that talks about organizational plan or policy in the image attached. I had to get this for you cos I can't be flipping through endless pages to get it for you from the Rwandan Genocide case. That is a snapshot from the United Nations archives.
This one is just to prove to you that I know my onions whenever I am arguing here.
You said for it to be genocide it must fulfill three conditions, of which you said one is that "it must be pre-planned"

In your image, existence of a State Policy or Organizational policy is just one of the evidences that could be used to show Intent which is one of the the pre-requisites for proving genocide

Existence of a State Policy or plan isn't needed, it's just used sometimes in case law to buttress a claim of existence of an intention to commit a genocide

Gbadebo study well

Gbadebo19:
We know your type. Turn to insults when you are loosing the argument. I will still educate you. An intention coupled with the underlisted act is what qualifies. An ordinary intention does not qualify.
Now, go and study the Rwandan Genocide so as to understand the decision of the court on how I arrived at pre-planning being a requisite factor.
Shalom
You took that as an insult?

There's a rule, if you're going to be full of yourself, make sure you can back it up

It's clear your arrogance is hollow, just empty braggadocio and I gave you sincere advice

It's up to you to ponder on it

There are things that offend me but spelling Muslim as moslem isn't one of them.

You only ever spell it as moslem. I was wondering why, so I did some research and discovered that certain people use Moslem as a derogatory term and insult when referring to Muslims.

You can continue to call it whatever you want. I give very little F about it.

Genocide is AN ACT COMMITTED WITH THE INTENTION TO ACHIEVE SOME OBJECTIVES

NOT

Have you ever attended a court sitting and listen to lawyers argue statutes and judges interpret before?
Answer simple question, are you a lawyer? Keep in mind, impersonation is a crime
Foreign AffairsRe: Russia-Ukraine War: World News, Weapons & Battlefield Discussions - Live by IMEI: 10:17pm On Oct 19, 2024
Gbadebo19:
If you know how to interpret statutes, you would understand that the statute is statimg that a mere intention does not qualify but rather an intention coupled with any of the underlisted occurrences.
Now tell me how an intention coupled with any of the underlisted occurrences will not point at a pre-plan.
Take the locus classicus case of Tutsi's Vs Hutu's in Rwanda to be better guided
See you trying your hardest to validate your submission

You know what, when proving prior preparation (pre-planning) becomes a pre-requisite for proving genocide in a competent Law Court, I'll indulge your efforts

Gbadebo19:
By God, you are not a lawyer!!!!
It says, any of the following act COMMITTED....
That means any of the underlisted act MUST be committed.

A mere intention to commit it does not make a genocide. Go back to school, my friend.

If we go by your logic and I primarily wish that a certain group in X country be killed in large numbers, does that mean I have committed Genocide? Definitely NO. I will only commit genocide if any of the understlisted acts occur or be liable for attempted genocide if I begin to take steps to carry it out.
As long as the underlisted acts do not occur, there is no genocide, the worst that can occur is an attempted genocide.

GO BACK TO SCHOOL
Show me anywhere I said a mere intention constitutes genocide

You stupidly said genocide must be pre-planned, I said no, there must be an intention to commit, for it to qualify

You're a clown

There's no record of Israel killing sinwar's parents. Israel didn't start the 1945 Arab war that made Palestinians refugees.

He became a prisoner because he killed two Jews and four Palestinians he felt where siding with the Jews.

The last two may be true.

Sinwar hates Jews
Okay man

I like that you do concede some points, get well bro
Foreign AffairsRe: Russia-Ukraine War: World News, Weapons & Battlefield Discussions - Live by IMEI: 9:56pm On Oct 19, 2024

Yeah I agree with that they were treated better but were still inferiors
In year 20 of the Muslim era, or the year 641 CE, Muhammad's successor the Caliph Umar decreed that Jews and Christians should be removed from all but the southern and eastern fringes of Arabia—a decree based one saying of Muhammad: "Let there not be two religions in Arabia". The two populations in question were the Jews of the Khaybar oasis in the north and the Christians of Najran
Jews under Islamic rule were given the status of dhimmi, along with certain other pre-Islamic religious groups.

Persecutions happened but not to the scale of Europe.

Bottom line is the Bible doest have a verse where Christians are told to kill and maltreat Jews or people of other religions, the Quran does.
At least you admitted to this

Let's leave this here , I won't argue religious points on this thread. Maybe some other thread, not this one
Foreign AffairsRe: Russia-Ukraine War: World News, Weapons & Battlefield Discussions - Live by IMEI: 9:51pm On Oct 19, 2024
Gbadebo19:
How does that invalidate the fact that they are required to kill Jews. Should we start talking about "Tahqiyyah" that allows Muslims to deceive?
Maybe they are required to marry their corpse and eat their rotten flesh after killing them

That makes sense
Foreign AffairsRe: Russia-Ukraine War: World News, Weapons & Battlefield Discussions - Live by IMEI: 9:50pm On Oct 19, 2024
Gbadebo19:
Don't go into a discourse you know nothing about.
Mere intention is never a crime. It only becomes a crime when you start taking steps to bring it into action. Reason why the word "pre-planned" was used. Legal provisions are not just a bunch of English sentences.
I'm a lawyer, you're a wannabe

Foreign AffairsRe: Russia-Ukraine War: World News, Weapons & Battlefield Discussions - Live by IMEI: 9:45pm On Oct 19, 2024

What he quoted was not a lie. Muslims are obligated to kill Jews and not to even relate with Christians at all.
I am well versed in Islamic law as well as customary law.
Aren't the same Muslims permitted to Marry Jews and Christians and eat their food? And aren't they given a title of "People of the Book" in the Muslim holy book the Qur'an?

How do you reconcile that with your claims above?
Foreign AffairsRe: Russia-Ukraine War: World News, Weapons & Battlefield Discussions - Live by IMEI: 9:42pm On Oct 19, 2024
Gbadebo19:
Was Israel the only country charged with PLAUSIBLE war crimes?
Was Yahya Sinwar not also added to the list by the ICC prosecutor?
There is a reason I wrote Plausible in capital letters above.
By the strict definition of genocide, three conditions must be fulfilled.

1. It must be pre-planned
2. It must be targeted against a particular group of people.
3. It must be designed to significantly wipe out a large number of the targeted group of people.

If anything, Hamas is more likely to be guilty of genocide than Israel because it is clear that the October 7 attack was pre-planned and targeted against the Israelites and at the same time designed to totally eliminate Israel (Let me remind you that the pre-amble of Hamas constitution is a vow to exterminate Israel).
As for Israel on the other hand, it is clear that the retaliation was not pre-planned but rather a retaliation that is spiralling out of control.
There's nothing like it must be pre-planned, there must be intention to commit genocide

Once again, how does this absolve them of war crimes?
Foreign AffairsRe: Russia-Ukraine War: World News, Weapons & Battlefield Discussions - Live by IMEI: 9:37pm On Oct 19, 2024

The bottom line here is that Muslims are obligated to kill Jews.

Hence the Islamic resistance movement of Hamas, The party of Allah wants to kill Jews.
Jews were treated better in Muslim Countries than Christian Europe

So much for Muslims being obligated to kill jews

Betraying OK he didn't become an Israeli agent he became leader of Hamas planned a terrorist attack that killed 1200 Jewish CIVILLIANS and kidnapped hundreds more . Which lead to the death of thousands of Palestinians both Hamas combatants and innocent civilians. Which also lead to his Death.

He didn't betray his people but he killed people who saved his life.

Yes they tried to turn him to an agent. They thought he'll be grateful for saving his life which they had no obligation to. His heart was already stone.

The doctor who saved him is the one u feel pity for he lost was it a nephew or a son to sinwar's OCT 7th attack.
According to International Law, they do have that obligation, but that isn't even why they did it, is it? They saw it as an opportunity to turn him against his people

Now, should he have shown gratitude by betraying his people?

Your posts are usually more intelligent than this, I hope you're holding up well
Foreign AffairsRe: Russia-Ukraine War: World News, Weapons & Battlefield Discussions - Live by IMEI: 9:24pm On Oct 19, 2024
Gbadebo19:
One thing is as clear as crystal, no matter how much you foolish people try to twist history.
The current Israelites were the ones who suffered from the Holocaust, hence the necessity to establish a homeland for them where they can live since they were not wanted in many parts of the world as at that time.
Without any doubt, the people who suffered from the Holocaust were the Jews. If you like, lie to yourself from now till thy kingdom comes.
Whether or not the present Palestinians have a DNA that is closely related to the ancient Jews does not invalidate the fact that the present Israelites are also Jews.
The lack of reading extensively is what has made you think that the Jews were just a separate of people.
Right from time immemorial, the ancient Jews mixed with other tribes and it didn't invalidate their being a jew, even though ancient Judaism scriptures forbade them from doing so.
For instance, the first Christian martyr, Stephen was a Greek jew. There were Roman Jews as well as Ethiopian Jews.
Since the time of the apostles, this was a matter that had caused issues within the Jewish communities. Pure Jews at that time regarded mixed Jews as non-jews.
Matters got worse with the coming of Christianity that embraced and welcomed both Jews and gentiles. That was why Pharisees and Sadducees had problems with some of the teachings of Yashua (Jesus).
How does this absolve them of war crimes?
