Dear NL, I still await your candid response. |
Fellow Nairalander, My car ( A Toyota Corolla 2006 model) Had problem with the Ac Compressor due to bad Gas. I later Change the compressor, but because the compressor was not of the same model with the one that came with the car as the one I bought did not have the switch to the thermostat. The Ac mechanic later connected the compressor with an external hemostat, it works perfectly only that the ac was no more being control by the factory fitted thermostat. After 6 weeks, the entire wires controlling the ac burnt, If not for God it would have burnt down the whole car, as the wires from the alternator down to the fuse box at the engine to the wires under the dash board burnt down. ( See Pix) To cut long story short, after rewiring, I have two problem; 1) the ABS light as seen in the pix do not go off again as usuall after the engine have come on and 2) it is the car ignition that switch on the radiator fan now instead of the hemostat. I then noticed this morning ( its my first day of using the car after the repair) that the car temperature is unusually low as compared to when it was being control by the hemostat. Please my question is: Will this have an effect on my car engine, ( I mean the low temperature.) I am of the opinion of looking for another electrician to return back the control of the radiator fan to hemostat. Please your positive suggestion will be well appreciated. Thanks

Culled from: http://h2.punchng.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art201008085312729 KHUN met Sanni when she was posted to Kaduna for her mandatory one-year National Youth Service, in one of the modern secondary schools in the metropolis to teach mathematics, which she majored in at the University of Jos. She considered herself lucky that the school was in the city and not in some remote part of the state, where some of her friends and colleagues were posted to. She soon settled down to her assigned duty with lots of gusto and passion. She also took up after school teaching appointment with two of the girls she taught mathematics in JSS1. The twins‘ parents had noticed the dramatic improvement in the girls‘ knowledge of figures and mathematical computation and felt it expedient to request that Khun give them extra maths lessons at home, but of course for a fee. She took up the offer, glad that her teaching was yielding favourable results, but most importantly to have an extra income to augment the pittance she was being paid. She became busy and rarely had time to unwind except when she travelled a few kilometres to visit her friends and colleagues in order to spend the weekend with them and then. Once every month, also she endeavoured to touch home to reassure her uncle, whom she lived with in Jos that all was well with her. This was her predictable routine until she met Sanni. Sanni had been living in Kaduna for a little over a year. He also came to Kaduna for his NYSC and during his service year in the multinational he was posted to, he performed exceptionally well that he got retained as soon as his service year ended. Not only that, he was quickly made an assistant manager based on how well he had impressed the management of the company. He lived with one of his elder sisters, Jumai, who had been married for five years, but without a child. As fate would have it, the twins lived in a home that shared a common boundary with Sanni‘s home. On one of the evenings that Khun had gone to give home lessons to the girls, she accidentally bumped into Sanni. No one could tell if it was providence or sheer coincidence that they bumped into each other, but from that day, they gradually became friends and it soon snowballed into an affair and Sanni subsequently proposed to her. She met Sanni‘s sister and his aged parents, who all approved of her and gave their blessings just as Khun‘s uncle, Jedidah, who was her only surviving guardian, equally approved of Sanni. What even made it a bit easier for Sanni was the fact that on probing him, Jedidah found out that he was secondary school mates with Sanni‘s eldest brother. Sanni took Khun to meet with his aged parents and they gave their blessings. Khun was almost rounding off her youth service and they both decided to get married after she was through. Sanni on his own part didn‘t waste time in getting set for marital life as he got a furnished apartment and moved out of his sister‘s house. They were both eagerly looking forward to marital bliss. They soon got married and two years later, there was no sound of the patter of tiny feet in their home as expected. Khun and her uncle were beginning to get agitated, but Sanni and his relatives, especially his sister, tried to reassure Khun and her uncle that all was well. A year after this, nothing happened. Khun became apprehensive and sought medical help. She went through all manner of tests and was certified healthy enough to be a mother. Four years after she became disturbed and urged Sanni to go for medical check-up in case there was a problem with his reproductive organ so they could both resolve the problem or find a way around it. This, of course, infuriated him and he didn‘t mince words in telling Khun off. How dare she think there was something wrong with him? If there was anything wrong with anyone, it had to be Khun, who was a woman and who was wired to get pregnant and have children, he reasoned. So if the kids were not coming, he reasoned that Khun either didn‘t get a comprehensive medical check-up or the doctor who examined her missed out something. He ordered her to go for another check-up and she came back with the result – medically fit. She urged him to also do same so they could put an end to their frustrating situation, but he would not budge. She went to his sister to speak to him and she promised she would, although Khun suspected she did not eventually. Her uncle tried to intervene a second time and Sanni calmly told him not to meddle in their affair as they were both capable of solving their marital problems themselves. He said they were both not in a hurry to have kids. Besides, he added, they would come when they would as it is God who gives children. Jedidah backed off knowing that something was terribly wrong, but didn‘t know how to go about it. He advised that Khun goes spiritual; taking her case to God in prayers with the hope that there would be divine intervention sooner or later. Khun went full swing and urged her husband to do same but he was simply nonchalant about it and this worried Khun to no end. A firm believer in the sanctity of marriage, she shunned advice from friends and colleagues on some line of action to take. They advised her to have another man father her kids and pass them on as Sanni‘s, or dump Sanni and move on with her life since she was perfectly capable of having children. But Khun couldn‘t see herself resorting to such ungodly advice, especially as she did not believe in divorce, having married in the Catholic Church. She also took very strongly the vows, ‘For better for worse‘ which she made at the altar when she was being joined with Sanni as man and wife. She wanted to have children, but didn‘t like that Sanni was unfazed about their childlessness for 10 years, but did not want to leave her husband at the same time. Please send in your responses and advice to Sanni and Khun |

Folks, Please I need advise on what to do, I collected an unsecured loan (overdraft) from UBA for a business last year, I had already explain to my branch that it will take at least 1 year for me to repay back the facility. The initial arrangement was that it will be rollover every 3months until I finish payment, but 4 months after they was the bank reforms by the CBN. To cut this long story short, the loan could not be rescheduled (roll-over) again after the initial duration of three months cause of CBN restriction. So the accounts have been on debit since then till date. My problem is that because of the situation, I have been paying debit intrest on the account, and out of the N200, 000 I pay every month for the past 8months, N170,000 I am told is taken by the bank for the loan intrest. Please I need help on how to stop the intrest on this as they have taken close to N1,000,000 alone on intrest. genuine advise will be appreciated, and not that I do not want to pay intrest, but what they are charging is too much and it will make me a money slavefor a long time if allowed to continue. Thank you for your sincere advise |

James Ibori's relentless run of bad karma continued today as the Dubai police revoked his bail on sight. The police, acting on actionable intelligence that Ibori might flee Dubai, having become desperate following the sentencing of two of his associates to five-year jail terms by the Southwark Crown Court in London, revoked his bail as soon as he arrived their headquarters. ABUJA—President Goodluck Jonathan has directed the Ministry of Power to commence full implementation of the Power Sector Reform Act to create room for private sector participation and efficient service delivery to Nigerians. Minister of State for Power, Mr. Nuhu Wya, who said this in Abuja, weekend, while receiving a group of foreign investors from the United Arab Emirate, UAE, who made presentation on their planned participation in the sector, added that President Jonathan had given mandate to commence the reform process and break all barriers that would prevent private sector players coming to invest in the sector. “I have the clear mandate of Mr. President to break all bottlenecks to private investors’ participation in the power sector. We are ready to encourage you and we will create the enabling environment for you to actively invest in the sector. Our doors are open to all genuine investors,”he said. To this effect, the minister said, “Based on Mr. President directives, we are commencing full reform of the sector to encourage the in-flow of the much-needed investment for the sector.” Specifically, the mandate is to the effect that the Electric Power Sector Reform Act of 2005 be fully implemented. The partial implementation of this Act before had led to the establishment of Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission and unbundling of Power Holding Company of Nigeria into 18 successor companies as follows,Generation-six,Transmission-one and Distribution-11 respectively |
