Moderators aisha2 & kosovo I do not know where to start this thread, please help move it to appropriate section. I decided to share this so that others will be careful while buying petrol from any filling station. I was on my way back from Abakpa (Enugu), I went to drop my generator with the mechanic, I had already made up my mind that I will service my wife's car today since I will not be working today thanks to the public holiday. After dropping the generator and on my way to the car mechanic I decided to buy N2000 worth of Petrol for her at a Filling Station at Fed Housing, Trans Ekulu, one of the filling station there is selling N65/Litre while the one I wanted to buy with was selling N67/Litre. I decided to pay higher because the other Station is notorious for selling (Adultrated Petrol) Petrol mix with Condensate. To cut long story short, immediately I arrived at the filling station, the lady attendant was unusually nice while the guy with the nozzle was attending to a lady buying with gallons, after the lady they sold for an elderly man with 504 salon car, I heared when the man told them he needs N1000 worth of fuel in which the male attendant set the dispenser at N1000 and sold for the man, after which I told them I need N2000 worth of Petrol, before I could turn my eyes, the guy had already started pouring fuel into my tank, I checked the dispenser meter and everything was OK, it was at this point that he apologised and told me that he programmed N1000 for me that he will programme another N1000 for me, all this while the female attendant was with me talking and showing me areas of the car that have been hit by my wife, after dispensing the first N1000 worth of fuel, another male attendant took over and programmed another N1000 and started dispensing, it was at this point that I was duped, as the female attendant drew my attention to an irrelevant thing on the plate number, and before I turn I saw 14.9 Litres and N1000, I was satisfied and I pay them N2000 and drove away, I was somehow apprehensive as the guy was too fast in dispensing the second N1000, so I was just watching the car fuel gauge and noticed that despite the fact that I had fuel before + the N2000 (29.8 Litres) the gauge was not even up to 1/2 tank, I turned back, when I arrived at the station I called their attention to my fuel gauge and wanted to make trouble, they quickly dispense another N1000 worth of petrol to me. Tricks: While I was busy checking the plate number with the female attendant, the guy stop dispensing into my tank and press last sales after which he showed me, I must confess the guy was damn fast. Please watch-out for this new tricks |
usbcable:gbammmmm!!!!! u hit the nail on the spot my bros, truth need to be told this Barca guys regardless of whose ox is gored, before the match against Barca, knowing who Mourinho is I said that with the score line at 3-1 It'll be easier for three camels to simultaneuosly pass through the eye of a needle than for Mourinho to throw away a two-goal cushion.Again, [s]there's no way Inter will not score in Spain[/s] So anyone who thinks Barca will overturn this deficit and qualify ahead of Inter sure deserves a prime spot in the GUINESS BOOK OF DELUSION. I was right here, though Inter did not score cause Mourinho change his game plan at the last minute by removing Pandev for Chivu, He simply showed Barca why we call him the "Special One", |
Workers in the civil service, under the Joint National Public Service Negotiating Council (JNPSNC), on Friday gave the Federal Government unexpected May Day gift on Friday, in Abuja, as they announced the commencement of a nationwide strike action to begin on Monday. Already, the JNPSNC, which comprises all the eight unions in the civil/public service, said that it had been sensitising its members across the federation in the last two months, in readiness for the action and directed them to commence a strike action on Monday. The strike, which is considered as the first phase, will last for one week, as the Chairman of the JNPSNC, Comrade Olakunle Olaitan, announced that it was a warning strike. Comrade Olaitan, who is also the National President of the Association of the Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN), addressed the civil servants on the breakdown of negotiation between the leadership of the JNPSNC and the Federal Government team, at the Labour House, Abuja, on Friday. He directed all the Federal civil servants to go on holiday and stay away from their offices throughout next week. According to him, the government had offered the civil servants a ridiculous 10 per cent wage increase, while workers in other sectors, within the same public service, like those in Customs, radio and television, among others were offered 100 per cent wage increase and above. “So, the leadership met yesterday and concluded that if by the close of work today (Friday), the government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria does not respond to our request of wage adjustment of 75.37 per cent, of course, we will be constrained to embark on five days warning strike, starting from Monday. Monday to Friday, as far as we are concerned; Monday to Friday next week is public holiday,” he said. The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) have declared their support behind the civil servants. Vice President, Nigeria labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Isa Aremu, said that the story of Nigeria as an independent nation in the last 50 years is that of reversal of fortune from grace to grass, saying it had moved from prosperity to poverty. Aremu, speaking in an interview with Saturday Tribune, added that the present situation in the country was due to the inability of the leadership to chart a way forward. “We have realised that whether we want to revive the closed industries and ask for more pay or not, everything boils down to good governance. “Nigeria has moved from development to underdevelopment. Nigeria has moved from wealth generation to direct corruption. The only way to reverse the trend is to come back to good governance,” he said. Aremu added that workers in Nigeria had done very well in terms of fighting for progress and having done their best, the country’s leadership failed to heed their call, due to lots of vested interests, in milking the nation dry. “Series of mass protests have been carried out in this country over fuel price increases, but the more you see, the less you understand. A lot of demonstrations to fix the refineries fell on deaf ears because the forces behind importation are profiting more. This is only possible because there is nobody in government to direct us,” the labour leader said. “The way they are rigging themselves within the party, that is exactly the way they rig elections outside. There cannot be democracy, if there is no internal democracy in the party,” he said, adding that a credible electoral body was also paramount to survival of democracy in any nation. The NLC vice president gave kudos to workers in the country for fighting for the independence of the nation, noting that though there were figures like Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Nnamdi Azikiwe, Ahmadu Bello and Aminu Kano, Nigerian workers were the real motivating factor for independence. “There were visible actors that we eventually know as the founding fathers, but the real forces that were back-up for the agitation for independence through strikes, protests against colonial rule were the Nigerian workers, especially organised labour led, at that time, by late Pa Imoudu,” he said. “You must also have a credible electoral body like INEC. INEC under Iwu was a disaster. He was the worst electoral referee ever produced on the continent, we have the worst electoral umpire in our history,” he concluded. |
Lobbyists whose main task is to ensure that the embattled National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Vincent Ogbulafor, escapes the impending prosecution in the hands of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) laid seige to National Assembly throughout the week. Ogbulafor is due to face the Abuja High Court over charges of alleged corrupt practices when he served as minister of economic matters in the Presidency, during the tenure of former President Olusegun Obasanjo. The ICPC last Monday secured the leave of the court to prosecute Ogbulafor and four others for the alleged crime running into N104 million. The case was adjourned to May 3. Investigations by the Saturday Tribune indicate that Ogbulafor’s men laid siege to offices of the presiding and principal officers of the National Assembly all through the week. It was gathered that while the embattled chairman has restricted himself to moving in the night, his emissaries roamed the offices of key National Assembly members all through the week to persuade them, in the bid to get the man off the hook. But sources had said that the team appeared to have hit a brickwall in the House of Representatives, where, it was gathered, they were told to await the rulings of the court. A source said that Speaker Dimeji Bankole had been non-committal to the lobbyists as he was unsure of the message that would come from the acting President if he ever raised the matter. It was gathered that Acting President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, had insisted, during recent meetings with top members of his party, that he would not intervene in Ogbulafor’s case and that he would not do the same for any other member of the government who runs foul of the law. A source said besides meeting with principal officers of the House of Representatives, including the Deputy Speaker, Honourable Bayero Nafada and the House Leader, Honourable Tuned Akogun, Ogbulafor’s emissaries had also met with the Speaker. |

Hajia Turai, the wife of ailing Nigerian “President,” Umaru Yar’Adua, claims her husband last night made a "surprise" appearance to see and embrace his mother. She told Nigeria's tabloid daily, The SUN, that Yar’Adua later moved to his study at 7:30 PM and remained there till 10: 00 PM. Last week, Turai boasted to her close aides again that she would pull a surprise in the next 10 days, leaving tongues wagging as to what she may be up to this time. To compound the chaos, Dimeji Bankole, the embattled Speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, told everyone he met in London that Yar'Adua would resume duties this week. But SaharaReporters can authoritatively reveal that Yar'Adua can still neither walk around unaided, nor speak audibly. What Turai was trying to sell through the SUN, former Governor Orji Uzor Kalu's paper routine therapy sessions aimed at revamping the ailing Nigeria leader whose medical sojourn out of power would have taken exactly six months on April 23 2010. Yar'Adua was evacuated to a Saudi hospital from Nigeria in November 2009. Since returning via air and ground ambulance almost three months ago, he has not been seen or heard in public. In February, the ambitious Turai audaciously smuggled her husband back into the country, commando-style and with full military support, in the middle of the night, trying to give the impression he had made a miraculous recovery and was ready to return to work. Turai's latest plot is coming on the heels of Acting President Goodluck Jonathan’s return from the US following a four–day working visit described by US officials as lackluster. Turai is believed to be upset that Jonathan’s visit signals US acceptance of Jonathan as Nigeria’s legitimate leader at the moment. President Obama had studiously avoided any interaction with Yar’Adua before he took ill last November. A few weeks before Jonathan's trip to the US, Turai staged elaborate stunts that saw Islamic clerics and Christian clergymen visiting her ailing husband with the aim of scuttling the swearing-in of new ministers that had been nominated by Jonathan. The stunts however backfired as public statements made by the Islamic clerics regarding the visit indicated that they were hired to create disaffection among Nigerians. In particular, a statement credited to Dr. Ahmad Datti said that Yar’Adua’s removal would yield serious consequences betrayed the purpose of their visit. Also, claims made by the Islamic clerics that they shook hands with Yar’Adua were somewhat disputed by Christian clergymen who were permitted to see him thereafter. The Yar’adua they saw, they said, did not appear to be capable of shaking hands with visitors. SaharaReporters has learnt that Turai continues to enjoy the support of core military leaders including the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.Gen Abdulraham Dambazu and the Chief of Military intelligence, a certain Major General AT Umaru, who repeatedly assist her to breach the security of the Presidential Villa where she freely invites visitors without clearance from the office of the National Security Adviser. SaharaReporters has also learnt that efforts by the NSA, Aliyu Mohmmed Gusau, to replace the Chief Security Officer and Yar'adua's Aide the Camp, who have become controversially involved in the national power games, were rebuffed by Dambaza and Umaru. Sources told SaharaReporters that Turai has abused the villa security so much that she uses the Presidential convoy to move medical doctors brought in from Saudi Arabia and Egypt to ferry them around Abuja, something a source in the office of the NSA said has become a source of worry. She is also said to have continued to misuse the presidential jets at will, sometimes using them to pick up family members from airports around the north for routine travel. The most abuse to which Turai has used the military men loyal to her was to harass persons loyal to Acting President, Goodluck Jonathan. One such individual was General Owoye Andrew Azazi, whose house in Abuja was burnt down while he was outside the country recently. The house in Abuja, which was being guarded by at least six soldiers, was razed to the ground while the guards had gone to eat. The blaze was put out only by the efforts of the Fire department at the Presidential Villa. Prior to the suspicious fire, Azazi had been a victim of illegal wire tapping by Turai's people in the military. SaharaReporters has also learned that one Col. Letam Wiwa, who is described as one of the most brilliant intelligence officers in the Nigerian Army, was posted aside to an irrelevant department, a victim of a plot by officers who are loyal to Turai. Gusau, the National Security Adviser appears to be helpless as he is more focused on extorting money from former ministers being investigated for fraud by his office. SaharaReporters learnt that the 71-year old NSA is personally investigating over fifteen Yar'Adua ministers. While the SSS is also handling a few cases, the retired General has refused to let the SSS interrogate any one of them. One of our sources said the NSA must have collected more N20 billion since he assumed office, monies that were found in the bank accounts of former Yar'Adua ministers, including Nigeria's notorious former Attorney General, Micheal Aondoakaa. The EFCC was completely shut out of the investigations. Our source said the NSA is only interested in the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), where he has practically taken over operations, and plans a major shake-up up of the ministry in order to plant his cronies. The name of the NSA featured prominently in Halliburton list of top 80 Nigerians bribed by the US oil services company, and published last week by SaharaReporters last week. General Gasau and Goodluck Jonathan are eyeing the Nigerian presidency in next year’s elections. Gusau is building his war chest, and his ambition to become president is more important than his current job, says a source in the presidency that spoke to SaharaReporters. As for Yar'Adua, his recovery remains very slow and uncertain. Medical sources knowledgeable about his treatment said the question of returning to office is not on the cards now, but that a meeting might be in the offing between Yar'Adua and Jonathan as part of his therapy.

To keep Lionel Messi quiet at the World Cup is possible, as Inter showed yesterday Bravo Jose Mourinho! You have done what many gaffers have failed to do. You have made Lionel Messi look anonymous in a very important game. Who would ever have thought that with his form in the last month, Barcelona’s most potent forward man would seem like he was not on the field in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final against Inter at the San Siro yesterday? Except for some bright sparks in the game where Messi hit a couple of shots on goal, for the most part one could not tell if he was on the pitch or not. He looked like a ghost of the man who took Arsenal to the cleaners at the Camp Nou two weeks ago. Mourinho’s Inter have now shown that a disciplined, hardworking side can beat Barcelona. Perhaps the biggest challenge they have thrown in the way of teams that are already sweating at the thought facing Messi at the World Cup, and here I cue Nigeria being the first opponent, is to cut off the supply of balls to the little man. In the game last night, Xavi was not given enough space to play in the incisive passes that allow Messi to shine. Add to that close marking by a strong backline that kept his every move in check, and Messi actually began to look his size for once. Nigeria will need to take a cue from this. In a Complete Football magazine interview, former Nigeria Olympic silver medal-winning coach Samson Siasia said that Messi will need to be closely marked. However, this talk, coming from a coach who lost two finals, the World Youth Championship (Holland 2005) and the 2008 Beijing Olympics, to Messi’s antics could have been taken with a wave of the hand. From what Mourinho’s men showed last night, perhaps Messi can be outplayed in his game even. June 12 is the D-day when all our troubles should be put to rest. Nigeria coach Lars Lagerback has said he is troubled more by the defence of the Super Eagles than by any other department in the team. His men will have to show that they’re worth wearing the green and white jersey by stepping up their game against Diego Maradona’s talisman at Ellis Park in Johannesburg. Perhaps Lagerback will have to learn some motivational skills from Mourinho as well. Inter have shown it can be done, Nigeria should be able to do it too.

johnterry4:again, ghammmmm!!!! God bless u my guy! bisiaet:God bless you Unlike this honeric01 guy you are a good looser honeric01:Ofcourse I can't be different from the football world, go and check again, before he arrive EPL, the focus of the football world was on Spain and Italy, after his arrival in EPL, the football world attention shifted to Spain and EPL, Italy then shifted to a third position. Mourinho made EPL what it is today, he set the bench mark after which EPL teams started dominating europe, also before now, who use to watch Italian Calcio? but because of Mourinho, the whole world now watch Italian football and its not by mistake that no other Italian team is in Europe now except Morinho's team. Go Jose!!!! Mourinho all the way!!!!! ![]()

honeric01:you suck!!!!, and u r really a bad looser, Rijkaard did not have Messi at his best, did not have Pigue at his best same with Toure, Busquets, etalll, I don't have any problem except you, cause Inter beat Barca Left, right and center and I know you did not sleep last Nite, we have exposed that creekky!!!! baraca defence and I know others saw it. let your PEP go to other League and win something, it is only then we will know he's worth his salt you fu.c.ke.n punk |
honeric01:With the squad this guy (PEP) have, I will win more than 10 trophies, so stop talking about which trophy the guy has won, his biggest undoing is being a racist, how on earth will he prefare Ibrahimovich instead of Eto'e, Busquets instead of Toure, Maxuel instead of Abidal, Pedro instead of Henry, it beats my imagination , and from all indication Barca will be all whites next year as his plans is to sell Henry, Toure snd Abidal. Thank God that Mourinho Zap him-up |

honeric01:lol, bad looser, Inter Rules now, like I told you before, if not for the Referee, last year CL final would have been Man U Vs Chelsea, so stop claiming that Barca are too good, cause Mourinho Beat Chelsea CLEAN home and away without the help of the referee, something that your so call Barca could not do last year |
honeric01:I still don't understand why u shd not get it into your thick skull that Inter did what no team have ever done to Barca (Beating barca 3-1), your biggest problem is under-estimating a team that also beat Chelsea home and away, something that Barcelona at thier best could not do at this stage of the competition last year even with the help of the Referee in both leg. Better agree that a better team beat your Braca, and for all I know Barca time of dominating everything is up, Inter is the way forward Quote: It'll be easier for three camels to simultaneuosly pass through the eye of a needle than for Mourinho to throw away a two-goal cushion.Again, there's no way Inter will not score in Spain So honeric01 who thinks Barca will overturn this deficit and qualify ahead of Inter sure deserves a prime spot in the GUINESS BOOK OF DELUSION Go lick your wound boy, see u in next year CL, Barca will never recover from this deafet, mark my words, they can only recover if Mourinho dies within the next 7days, which will never happened |

Former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, maybe ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo’s joker in his quest to have one of his associates occupy the presidential villa next year or take charge of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Saturday Sun gathered that drafting Ribadu into the presidential race next year is the Plan B of the Obasanjo camp, in case the desire for Acting President Goodluck Jonathan to contest in the election, owing to the zoning arrangement in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) fails. Also, the other option is for him to be INEC chairman. Jonathan had told the Cable News Network (CNN) that he had many option regarding next year’s elections. According to him, he has the option of running as somebody’s vice presidential candidate or, in the alternative, running for president, despite saying that this is not his priority at the moment. However, sources close to Obasanjo said that realising that it could be difficult to sell the Jonathan 2011 presidency to the North, most especially, since the zone wants to also have eight years rule, as the South did between 1999 and 2007, the former President’s camp considered the option of getting somebody, who is popular, from the North, to contest for the number one seat. It was gathered that Ribadu was considered, as the Obasanjo camp reckoned that with his popularity, garnered while he was chairman of the EFCC, he would be accepted by most Nigerians, if presented for the election. Plan to remove his blemish To set the tune for the option, the camp pressed for the withdrawal of charges against the former EFCC chairman before the Code of Conduct Bureau. With this done, it was learnt that the next plan is for Ribadu’s dismissal from the police to be converted to retirement. Also, the group is working to get the court to speed up the case Ribadu filed against the police, challenging his dismissal, where it is expected that the police action would be voided by the court. Sources revealed that contrary to the belief that Jonathan wants to reappoint Ribadu as chairman of the EFCC or presidential adviser on war against corruption, the real plan is to clear whatever encumbrance may hinder the former anti-graft czar from contesting election so that if the group settles for Plan B, he would be drafted into the 2011 race. Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Alhaji Mohammed Adoke, had, during a visit to the EFCC recently, said that government had no plan to reappoint Ribadu as the anti-graft agency chairman. Ribadu himself, while speaking from the United States, had also said something to the effect that he was not aware of any plan for him to return to the EFCC. He had hinted that he would return to the country in May. Ribadu expected back next month Saturday Sun gathered that when Ribadu returns, he would make himself visible, by what he would be saying as well as his daily activities. This is in order for him to return to public consciousness, while he awaits the greenlight for his role in 2011 elections. It was gathered that media teams were being set up for the former EFCC chairman, with a view to managing his image boosting campaign. The INEC option Saturday Sun gathered that with Jonathan’s promise to ensure that the country conducts credible election next year, Ribadu may play a role in the conduct of the election. Specifically, sources close to the presidential villa said that he maybe appointed to replace Prof Maurice Iwu, whose tenure as INEC chairman will end in June. The option to have Ribadu at INEC, it was gathered, is to have an electoral body Nigerians and the international community will have confidence in. His activities at the EFCC, it was learnt, gave the impetus that he would do well as INEC chairman. Jonathan had hinted that there would be a shake-up at INEC during his trip to the US. He had told the CNN that the tenure of Iwu and other commissioners of INEC would end by June, by which time, he revealed, the government would review their cases on individual merit. He had said in the interview with CNN: “On the issue of the people at INEC, I told them that, look, between now and ending of June, most of the officials at the national level – they’re called commissioners – their tenure will end, and we’re going to review them.” He also said: “So, the issue is beyond Iwu because we must set up an electoral system and our regulations and laws that will make sure that anybody who is appointed to that office should be able to conduct acceptable elections. And that is my focus.” Jonathan’s meeting with Ribadu The Jonathan camp is in the know about the plans for Ribadu. This is why charges against the former police officer were withdrawn. This is also why the acting president met with him in the US, during his five-day visit. In the meeting, Jonathan was said to have assured Ribadu of his safety in Nigeria. He also told him that he would get a role in the coming days in the country, without specifically revealing his plan. http://www.sunnewsonline.com/webpages/news/national/2010/apr/17/national-17-04-2010-001.htm |
Former Delta State governor, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, may be handed over to the United Kingdom authorities when he is eventually honours the invitation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The embattled ex-governor, who has a pending money laundering trial in the UK, has in the last few days been having a running battle with the anti-graft agency following his invitation to answer new charges leveled against him bordering on an alleged N44 billion fraud during his tenure. Following the invitation, Ibori had accused the EFCC of a political witch-hunt, claiming that he was declared wanted even before the April 17, 2010 invitation date by the commission. But the anti-graft agency dismissed the allegation, saying instead, the former governor had a case to answer. A source close to the EFCC, however, hinted that plans had been concluded with the UK government to extradite Ibori to continue with his London trial. The case was put on hold following his trial in Nigeria for corruption. Justice Marcel Awokulehin of the Federal High Court in Asaba, Delta State, eventually acquitted Ibori last year, a ruling that has been appealed against by the EFCC. But following a tip-off on the extradition plot, Ibori was said to have gone underground to evade arrest. A source close to him, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, disclosed that Ibori might not honour the EFCC invitation, as he was afraid he could be kidnapped and sedated before being flown to the UK. “Why would he honour the invitation when the EFCC has clearly shown it was embarking on a political trial? What is the guarantee that his life is safe? “They are trying to re-open a case that had been decided by a Nigerian court. After all, a Federal High Court in Asaba had thrown out the 170 charges against him before acquitting him, and the EFCC has appealed against the ruling. Why don’t the EFCC just wait for the appeal rather than start this fresh witch-hunt?” the source queried. According to the source, the EFCC declared Ibori wanted out of desperation and as a way of smoking him out from hiding. It was, however, not aware that the former Delta governor had been tipped-off about the alleged planned extradition. When contacted yesterday EFCC spokesman, Mr. Femi Babafemi, dismissed the extradition issue as a figment of Ibori’s imagination. “The truth is that the man is just afraid of his shadows. We have established strong and serious case against him. We’re ready to prosecute him.” When pressed further on Ibori’s extradition claim, Babafemi insisted: “We don’t know about that, we only need him to answer questions based on allegations we have against him.” However, a source told Daily Sun that that cannot be dismissed completely. Said the source: “The EFCC and Metropolitan Police (MP) relate well on this (Ibori’s) issue. So, it is not impossible the MP may be interested in taking him from EFCC’s custody. That can’t be ruled out.”
