I am single and living in my personally built house (4 bedroom bungalow) somewhere in Ogun State at the moment. As part of my investment drive, I currently have an on-going housing project somewhere in Kware State. The housing project is a-10 self-contained rooms with a big shop and a security post at the front. The plan is to rent out the house/rooms entirely to students as HOSTEL (as it is situated in a relatively densely populated town that is behind a popular tertiary institution), while I intend running a mini-mart with the big shop at the front. I just resigned from my job with the plan of running my own audit firm (I'm a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria) The issue now is that the housing project in Kwara State is about 70% work done, and obviously need more money for completion, which I presently don't have. I am now thinking of selling my house (residential building) in Ogun State and then use the proceed to complete the project in Kwara State (commercial building). Please note the following: - If I sell the house in Ogun State, I have a room at our family house in Lagos State that I am presently staying as well anytime am in Lagos. Also, I can also stay at a room at my mom's personal house somewhere in Ogun State; - Right besides the housing project in Kwara State lies another plot of land that I am yet to develop as well. - believe If am able to sell the house in Ogun State, I would easily complete the commercial housing project in Kwara State and even develop the other plot of land besides it for either another commercial or residential house from it's future rent. - I have the plan of relocating/settling down in that part of Kwara State from my present states of residence - Lagos/Ogun. What's your advice for me please 🙏🏻? |
While I am not trying to justify any of these dehumanizing behavior on a MIL, yet, I wish to emphasize that a lady/woman who genuinely fall in love not only with a man but with his family members and in which her love is equally genuinely reciprocated by the man and his family members will NEVER experience any of these such thing. Many lady that experience any of these Mil harsh treatments are probably reaping the reward of their desperation, and the signals of their MIL hostility may have even been there before their desperately went ahead to have baby for their man. Too sad! |
Last week, I was telling a friend of mine that we dated good girls that are worthy as a wife during our secondary school days. Infact, many of them married (to other men) early while we were still an undergraduate. Now that we are ready for marriage, these our secondary school girlfriends are no more available. Did we regret missing them? NO! Our academic career was more premising than anything else as at then. We believe we'll still meet good girls again when we are ready for marriage. Then, our academic, professional and marital career will equate. We must equally understand that girls have a shorter life span so you should understand life from their perspective ad well. I hope the OP takes a clue from this. Regards |

Either good or bad, for Osimen to have aired his mind like this , only God knows what could be roaming in the minds of other SE players toward George Finidi. This seems to be just a smoke screen; you can never tell. It is well |
Why is Eedris contradicting himself nah? Listen to Eedris's Wakawekie MC song and hear what he said about Blackface, 2Face, Faze and Plantashun Boiz as a group |
Dear NLs, please I need your guidance on this issue. I am on the verge of applying for my first annual leave with my present employer. But the information I have gathered from my colleagues at work have it that the company usually count weekends as part of the annual leave days. Note that in my employment letter, it was only started at I shall be entitled to 28 annual leave days and also that the company usually work Monday - Friday. Is it right for the company to count weekend as part of my annual leave days? And what does the Nigeria Labour Law says about this? Thank you all for your anticipated guidance |
Lagos State Appropriation Bill (Budget) for 2023 is as summarized below: - Capital Expenditure - N1.019 trillion (58%) - Recurrent Expenditure - N748 Billion (42%). This covers personnel cost, overheards and debt servicing Although, corruption should not be encouraged in whatever form. If this allegation is true, yet, as an Auditor that I am and with 16 years of working experience, what is the percentage of N2.3m to the N748 Billion Recurrent Expenditure of the LASG? The 'embezzled' should be TOTALLY IMMATERIAL to every right thinking person and as such, should be totally disregarded. More so, even if the issue Is to be thoroughly investigated, the require expenses, time and other resources would probably outweigh the intended benefits. Case dismissed! |
The only way you can manage your salary in this hard time is to: - Separate your NEEDS from your WANTS - priorities your needs Simple! |
Op, 1. You only told us about the lady's qualification which I'm even tempted to say that you've only guessed because you may not be privy to see her CV. What is your own qualification? 2. Do you know if the lady has other professional qualification like ICAN? And, do you also has? 3. Regarding comparing your 3 years working experience to hers, do you know how many years of working experience the lady has before joining your company? 4. You're only taking her through your accounting processes and not that you're teaching her the job. You need to get this fact right. It is normal for Accountant to struggle with their functions on their new job so stop thinking over-the-board. 5. My advise to you is that you should set your ego aside and learn to have a good working relationship with the lady in question. With time, things will work out for you naturally in the company. Cheers! PS: I am a Chartered Accountant with 16 years working experience in various sector of the economy. |

I have three (3) bank accounts - GTB, UBA and Globus. GTBank - Meant for day-to-day chop chop, paying bills etc. Money in this account is often small 😎 UBA - Meant for savings. The savings is to meet unforseen and pressing needs like family issues, assisting friends on financial needs etc that the money in the GTBank may not be able to meet😎 Globus - Meant for investment savings. Money in this account is often huge and it doesn't last therein because once the money gets there, I spend it on already planned investment like building projects, purchase of land etc. Suffice it to say that my investment change form in this account😎 Whatever the economy situations, with this mentality, I am not losing on both ends. Cheers😎👍 |
This was what happened to me year 2003. In a nutshell, the guy my fiancee committed her to marry ended up leaving her as a single mother with 3 children to God knows where and of course, as an irresponsible man. The lady is now a shadow of herself. I felt pity for the lady the day we met and narrated her ordeal to me. She even narrated how she fought with her mother over her present marital predicament. She specifically accused her mom of misleading her and her mom had to come begging her. This lady is now begging me for financial assistance. Hmmm. Story plenty o. But I thank God for my life. Op, it is well with you |
This is the biggest political scam I have ever read on Nairaland. Op should fear God o. The picture you are showing here is just 20 kilometers to Calabar and I can confirm to you that that is the only motorable part of the Odukpani - Calabar road. Once you cross the ITU (end of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State) bridge enter Cross River State into Odukpani road, which is about 2 hours drive to the bridge you're showing here is the most horrible road I have ever travelling through till this moment. Suffice it to say that you're only showing the bridge which covers the last 20 kilometers road into Calabar. You guys should fear God o |

Is this suppose to be a punishment for S.K? Didn't his legendary late father a regular visitor to various prisons when he was alive? Mtchewww |
I see people commenting here out of sheer ignorance. Op, if you story is true, you have every right to go ahead and arrest the lady for breach of (employment) contract provide: 1. Did the company gave her employment letter when she was employed? 2. If yes, what does the letter (and by extension) the staff handbook say about staff resignation process? 3. If you see that the secretary did not follow the resignation process as stated in (2) above then you can sue her for breach of contract. 4. If you're able to achieve the (3) above, then you can demand for those records/ information that you're seeking for from her as part of condition for accepting her resignation legitly. Everything stated in staff employment letter is not there for reading sake it's law binding. That is why it is called employment contract. But, where there is no employment letter, please the lady in question is gone for good! S'ope Otilo |
Why not provide good health care facilities in the rural areas instead of moving patients to the cities? Better still, what about constructing good roads to facilitate easy movement (beyond the need for medical care) of the people from the rural areas to the town/cities? |
While I understand that times are hard in Nigeria yet I really don't understand the obsession with traveling abroad as the only way of solving problems in this country. I wonder if some people think abroad is also a bed of roses. By the way, Op you're yet to tell us 1. Your educational background, 2. what presently do for a living 3. How sure are you that your travelling plan will be scam free You better think well |
The problem with our society is that we believe people with a failed marriage is are failure. This is one fu*king mentality in our society that is fu*king annoying. Op, your only mistake is resigning from your job. Instead, you should have kept your job, take a break from your marriage and live your live with your only daughter in a rented apartment of your own! You should only come back to your 'permanent' home when your sister-in-law's brain is back to her factory settings. Well, nothing spoil as things be now, after all, your sister-in-law too go soon marry, what goes around, will surely comes around. It is well |
What I like about you Op is the fact that you put your family into your plans. Heaven will soon smile on your bro. It is well |
Op, on your behalf I say to your boss: God will punish you and your yeye job |
