Politics / Re: Bus Drivers In Anambra Lament Extortions By Touts Despite Paying Tax To Gov’t by ImperialYoruba: 1:11am On Aug 09, 2023
LegendHero:
Shuttle bus drivers in Anambra State have lamented that they are daily extorted and harassed by touts, popularly known as Agberos.

The touts operate in cities across the state despite claims by Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration that their operation had been banned. The government had also promised to rid the state of illegal tax collectors.

The drivers said that they are being harassed and extorted on a daily basis by illegal tax collectors.

Meanwhile, in addition to the illegal collections by touts, tricycle riders and bus drivers in the state are made to pay between N15,000 to N25,000 monthly to the state government.

They, therefore, appealed to Governor Soludo to protect them from louts, who terrorise them.

The Secretary of Anambra State Shuttle Bus Drivers Forum (ASRBDF), Mr Akubilo Ifeanyi, told journalists in Awka, the state capital, that despite the ban on illegal tax collection in the state, touts still extort money from them everywhere in the state.

Ifeanyi alleged that the people engaging in the illegal tax collection operations and their sponsors in the state are well-known to the authorities.

He said, "We are suffering from multiple taxations as a result of the operations of touts in the state.

“In Onitsha, the Agberos (touts) collect N700, N3,000 in Ifite Awka and the same amount at Unizik and Eke Awka axis on a daily basis."

Ifeanyi expressed sadness about how they pay the state government stipulated levies, adding the payments do not reflect as “most of those who have paid the stipulated levies into government accounts are detained by the government task force teams allegedly made up of touts”.

He said drivers are detained and their vehicles are impounded for days and when they are released, they are forced to pay for the days they and their vehicles were “illegally” detained.

Ifeanyi said, “We are not happy that when our shuttle buses are with mechanics for three months, we will still pay. We are not happy that when a driver goes for an examination, he will still pay.

“We are not happy that when our buses are detained by the Agberos or enforcement team, we will be forced to pay again.”

“We are ready to support and cooperate with the government but the government must help us with these challenges of Agbero harassing us, paying when our vehicles did not work and other challenges.

“We are confused about the enforcement teams; there are lots of them. Some wear green uniforms, others wear red. We don't know the one to follow. Anambra State Internal Revenue Service (AIRS) should help us with the right enforcement team and account to pay into," he added.

The ASRBDF Secretary further noted that the shuttle bus drivers have appealed to Governor Soludo to build public parks for them to carry passengers and that the governor promised to provide parks for them.

According to him, anytime they carry passengers from existing parks, they are forced to pay huge amounts of money as the operators of the parks usually claim that the parks are not public parks.

He, therefore, appealed to the governor to provide public parks for them and ensure the total eradication of touts in the state.

Nonsense!

This tactic (presenting the man as some Mensa accredited grandmaster, several steps ahead of real and imagined opponents and 'enemies') worked for a while as long as his media handlers controlled the narrative. Unfortunately for him, it all fell apart during the 2023 election. Media exposure to a critical audience proved that he is a fragile, infirm man whose massively overrated cognitive abilities have deteriorated significantly.

The evidence is there. The word salads. The 24/7 business of clarification, denial and retraction by his aides. undecided We could go and on. You can't spin these unforced, sometimes comical errors as deliberate, pre-planned action by a genius, controlling his pawns at will. That is utter nonsense.

Propaganda has its limits. That's a lesson you are about to learn.

The narrative started with Buhari and North used Tinubu and dumped him. That was followed by cabal is working against Tinubu. Then we heard Northern Elders disowned Tinubu. APC rejected Tinubu. CBN changed currency, Tinubu is defeated.

Where are all these your yeye narratives today, where do you stand on them?

If a person as stained as you all portray Tinubu could defeat two non-stained candidates, defeat APC cabal, defeat Buhari opposition....who is Atiku, or far much less a Obi in the scheme of things?

Oh by the way, is Tinubu able to stand on his own now, no longer needing support to prop him up? Is Tinubu still making gaffes on the microphone? Is Baba shaky shaky now steady and healthy? grin.

Not just Atiku, Obi and his obidients are nothing but tools and puppets to be maneuvered and tricked. You go where Tinubu directs the wind, you have no self-will to not do so.

Like I said earlier, you have been programmed and you don't even know your acts are in synch with the tunes.

*BREAKING:*
*Senator Dr Tony Nwoye moves Motion over Marginalisation Of Southeast In Ministerial List.*

*… As Senator Dr Tony Nwoye and South East Senators demands for balance in ministerial Nomination by President Bola Tinubu.*

*…Demands for additional Two Ministers on the basis of Federal Character Act.*

*…. as Senate President Senator Akpabio promises to speak with President Tinubu over the matter.*

7th July, 2023.

Abuja- It will be recalled that out of the 48 ministerial nominees presented to the Senate, the Southeast contributed five representing 10% as against the 18% average for the five other zones in the country. The ugly situation of Ministerial nomination from the Southeast was formally brought to light in a motion tabled by Senator Dr Tony Nwoye, Anambra North Senatorial District who alleged that whereas all other zones in the country had extra nominations but that the Southeast became the exception.

Senator Dr Tony Nwoye at Senate Plenary with 14 Other Senators from South East sponsored a Motion on Matter of urgent national importance on the basis of violation of section 14(3) of 1999 constitution as amended and section 5 (a) & (b) under part 3 of Federal Character Commission Act Laws of Federation 2004 in ministerial appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Senator Dr Tony Nwoye drew the attention of Senate on Section 14 (3) of 1999 constitution as amended which provides that ‘the Composition of the government of the federation or any of its agencies and the conduct of its affairs shall be carried out in such a manner as to reflect the Federal Character of Nigeria and the need to promote national unity, and also to command national loyalty, thereby ensuring that there shall be no predominance of persons from a few state or from a few ethnic or other sectional groups in that government or in any of its agencies.

He went Further to state that Section 5 (a) & (b) under part 3 of Federal Character Commission Act laws of Federation 2004 which also provides that “As far as practicable, the appointment to the various categories of political offices shall be done on the basis of equitable representation of the states of the federation, FCT or Zones as appropriate using the relevant formula. The political offices concerned include (a) Minister of cabinet rank (b) Ministers of State..”

In his motion on notice, Senator Dr Tony Nwoye cited Section 4 (b) part 1 of Federal Character Commission Act 2004 which Provides for proportional sharing of all bureaucratic, economic, Media and political posts at all levels.

Senator Dr Tony Nwoye gave a graphic analysis of The Ministers appointed so far by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which is as follows: North West Geopolitical Zone-10 Ministers (3 extra Ministers), North East Geopolitical Zone -8 Ministers (2 extra Ministers), North Central Geopolitical Zone -8 Ministers (2 extra Ministers), South West Geopolitical Zone -9 Ministers (3 extra Ministers), South South Geopolitical Zone-7 Ministers (1 extra Minister) South East got 5 Ministers without any zonal ministers.

In his final submission, Senator Dr Tony Nwoye opined that the appointment of ministers by President Bola Tinubu is not equitable and also not proportionate to have nomination of ministers at least 1 extra from each geopolitical zone with some geopolitical zones having extra three (3) Ministers while South East Geopolitical Zone has none on the basis of geopolitical zone.

Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe in supporting the motion prayer Mr President to do the needful.

In His remark, Th Senate President Senator Godswill Akpabio promised to meet with Mr President and speak with him over the matter.

People with very high EQ (Emotional Quotient) are known for controlling people and without their subjects knowing they are being controlled. Only very few of them exist, Tinubu is one of the few.

I'm at Iga Idungaran right now. I took a picture of an ark with Iga Oshodi Buku of Lagos written on it. Iga is an edo( benin) word meaning compound. Ibadan of lagos sef confirmed that binis were the first settlers in Lagos. Look at their chief's regalia in lagos. It's similar to that of edo/bini. All the Eko( Lagos) obas used to be taken to benin for burial in the olden days

Just mixing apples and oranges to brew a pitcher of koolaid and intoxicate your fellow Edos.

Foreign Affairs / Re: Niger’s Armed Forces Bring In Hundreds Of Troops To Protect Capital by ImperialYoruba: 12:39pm On Aug 07, 2023
Niger coupists are raising false alarms and taking wrong steps. This reveals their incompetence to manage that country.

A conflict is not necessarily a war. It is just the adoption of ideas and proposals in disagreements. Conflicts can be resolved. It is only when conflicts are not resolved that things escalate.

Niger is at odds with ECOWAS ideology. Essentially an ideological conflict. This ideological difference is still being negotiated by diplomats on ground.

Instead of the coupists to share with their citizens efforts spent making headway in negotiations with stakeholders, they spill out fear of war to cower their citizens and make them further vulnerable for exploit.

ECOWAS stated from day one - diplomacy, but if using force to regain democracy is needed they will use the option.

E be like say war is still far far ahead sef if other means fail.

So why all the theatrical displays? These army leaders are incompetent, more reason they should be removed and democracy restored.

All northern legislators should take note.
If this president orders a strike on Niger , impeach him.

The opposition will join you and get the required 2/3 majority

1. You tried to push US President to reject BAT, failed.
2. Una try parallel govt, failed.
3. Tried street protest, e no work
4. Considered coup, backed out
5 Now na impeachment be your next option.

Atiku doesn’t want to give up because he has inside information that the Adebola Tinubu that graduated from Chicago state university is a female.. .Common sense If Tinubu does not have any skeleton in his cupboard he wouldn’t be paying for millions to block Atiku access after all if anybody today brings a lawsuit to access Peter Obi’s qualifications, Obi will not only be happy at the effort but encourage the person

One thing is clear here. It is expensive to sue in America. Also, their courts judge strictly on proof beyond reasonable doubt. The burden of proof will be on Atiku to convince court that the certificate issued to Ahmed Bola Tinubu was for a female student, as you hinted above.

If you look at the class year picture, his name was written Bola A. Tinubu, consistent with the certificate issued to him. American schools enter full name in register but may shorten or use initials on diplomas. Bola A. Tinubu is consistent with Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Atiku will now need to prove that the Bola A. Tinubu in the class picture is a female.

Atiku just dey throwwey money because as people dey buy generator the money dey replace hinself. grin. But in all honesty Baba no get case.

Politics / Re: Rerun: We’ve Done Our Calculation Well, Tinubu Won’t Be On Ballot, LP Claims by ImperialYoruba: 9:26pm On Aug 06, 2023
It is unintelligent for LP to claim Tinubu will not be on ballot. Let me ask this simple question. Has any candidate ever been on ballot?

This is the reality. APC is not disqualified, it remains eligible to run elections. APC will be on ballot. Now, question might be raised on who APC will field as candidate. All electoral Acts agree it is prerogative of party to field candidate of its choice. Only INEC has power and authority to disqualify candidate.

So APC will be on ballot, and if APC wants to submit Tinubu/Shettima as candidate to INEC, and INEC accepts it, then no one in Nigeria can remove him.

LP is naive.

YOU WANT TO SURVIVE IN LAGOS: 17 Things you must not do.

1. On a bus, When you sit by the window. Never operate your phone, It will be snatched from your hand. This is a quintessential occurence in some surbuban parts of Lagos such as Agege and Mushin. In fact, anywhere in Lagos.

2. Whenever someone greets you on the road, Do not answer him or her especially when he approaches you from behind.

3. If you see people fighting, Mind your business!!. I repeat MIND YOUR BUSINESS!!

4. You must learn how to argue with a bus conductor, when he tries cheating you.
And please whenever you do. Please don't use Standard English. You must have had a good knowledge of Pidgin before you come to Lagos. If not I can teach you. 🤣

5. Walk with a known Nigerian, on the first weeks of your stay in Lagos. He'll show you the ropes or else you go suffer.

6. Whenever you're walking in a deserted area in Lagos. Walk like a gangster, not like a responsible person. If you do, Miscreants will feel you're defensive and wouldn't come close to you. Street sense ✌🤣

7. Anything you did not find on your head, Please don't pick it. (You understand what I mean).

8. When you're crossing the road. Turn into a Ronaldo. Cars come in massive droves. They won't hit you but you must learn how to dribble them. 🤣

9. When you want to buy soft drinks, Buy soft drinks from people hawking in the traffic. It is believed that the drinks taste sweeter than the ones bought from people in shops😅. Just a belief!!

10. When you see a large number of people running, don't wait or ask questions. Just run with them. RUN RUN RUN!!! Ask when it is safe!! Run o🤣

11. Never leave Lagos without taking a ride on Third Mainland Bridge. It is a sin😅

12. Don't dance to any music you hear, never stare or laugh at people. Don't speak to anyone in the bus until they speak to you first.

13. Whenever you walk in a crowded area, hold your phone firmly in your hand, not in your bag or pocket or else Sope oti lo.

14. Whenever you want to ask for Directions, say this. "Sorry, Please, Excuse me...then ask your question". It is compulsory to say all of them. Don't omit any. Everybody is angry in Nigeria.😂

15. It's often said that the number of people who are mentally normal in Lagos aren't up to 5. In essence, If a Lagosian teases you, don't take him serious. Just be cool to prevent issues. We're mád in this Lagos!!. I am the only nórmal person in my area.

16. There's one popular "Den of scámmers" in Lagos called Computer Village. It is the most popular place for buying and repairing electronic devices. But please and please open your eyes very well before you buy fufu package in a phone case of buy a swapped electronics.😁

17. And lastly LAGOS is a comedy centre, you will love the drama you will be seeing around.

Lagos, Its mix of tradition and modernity, combined with its rich culture and entrepreneurial spirit, makes it an exciting and attractive destination for people from all over the world. Lagos is very very fun and sweet once you understand the system. It's not a bad place to be, it's just a place to be SMART and WISE!!

A person that works with facts and figures. That lives or dies by the numbers. Who's performances and productivity are based purely on metrics, i.e it can be measured and assessed over a set period of time.

As opposed to a politician who can sell sand to Arabs, snow to Eskimos and bullcrap to the hapless citizens of this country as to why IT DIDN'T HAPPEN.

These are the people needed in this dire period in Nigeria's history and the only guarantee that Mr. Tinubu has of a successful tenure.
