So if you happen to be one of the kids affected by the irresponsibilities of two bad parents, you would kiss and say good bye to a father like Femi as he drops you like a tumor with an irresponsible mother... You just like to talk any how all the time. IYANGBALI: |
Obviously you are in the so-called "Men's Club" where the enormity of a man's failings can never be as important as when it is done by a woman. You are so quick to talk about deceit yet you struggle to relate the man's irresponsible knack for hopping from one woman to another, probably even while still a married man. To even show how deeply twisted the man is, he did not even put the feelings and troubles of the children affected by such revelation. He is in no way as hurt as those two children whose lives he was so willing to drop like a bad habit once he discovered they were not biologically his. The fool did not even waste time to demean them and send them packing to live with their equally repugnant mother. I stand by my first comment, Femi is just as equally guilty of irresponsibility as the Ashawo wey him marry. The man is an attention LovePeddler, damning the difficulties and psychological trauma those two children will go through upon this announcement to the public. What exactly does he want from the public, sympathy or the truth? IDEApro: |
The point here is majority wins the vote. As long as she can get the support of other family members, go ahead and marry. What I will not support is somebody going into a marriage everyone in the family does not support, I wont advise anyone to go into such marriage cos definitely it will be a lonely marriage full of a rage for your family that will eventually affect the family you are going to start with enwe man or woman wey carry you run and possibly affect your own relationship with the man's or woman's family cos nobody respects a loner, they can show you love but no respect. Whobedatte: |
Femi Kuti himself does not look like he has been responsible himself, he has children from three different women and expects that he wont likely meet a gold digger from one the three children....scheeew!!! Some men need to start taking responsibility for situations that are a direct result of their past reckless life. Don't remove yourself from the situation and act like every woman is a bitch of some sort. If when you were young all you want was a b!cht you will get a B!ch. The only people that should be vexed here are the unfortunate children that are involved with stoopid parents. |
It is very necessary if you want to enjoy your marriage, at the end of the day, marriage is about family. The strongest marriages are the ones that are closely knitted. The fact is that you do not necessarily need to fulfill all the whims and caprices of your parents but make sure you have family support at least, mama and papa are not the only members of the family. I am going to speak as an Igbo man, I know of relatives who married non-Igbos against one of their parents' wish, they made sure they got the support of the family members especially their brothers and sisters. The disagreeing parent eventually came around after a while and even came to love their children's spouse they initially did not agree for their children to marry. The point is, don't form one man soldier with your spouse and make them see your family as being irrelevant, na when you begin get children you go know the implication of such a decision or when that marriage starts getting the normal issues associated with marriage. Family is a beautiful thing, I know because they have got my bag. I lost both of my parents while I was still in the University yet my lifestyle or standard of leaving did not change, family members rallied around us and made sure we did not feel the impact of their demise. festusfeezy: |
I wont go on with a relationship that does not have family support, especially from mother and father. This is very necessary for me. I am not in the league of those that deceive themselves that it does not matter, it very much does for me. What is the essence of marriage if it starts with the notion that family does not matter? |
I have never come to agreement on what this very deep and intelligently well arranged song is about, hearing "Hallelujah" in the song would make you think it is a christian song but on closer attention to the lyrics of the song, it becomes confusing as to whether it is about a man's deep love for a woman or a christian song with indescribable metaphors about Love. By the way, I prefer the Alexandra Burke Version of the song to the much touted Jeff Buckley version, Alexander sang it with some soul rather than the heavily melancholic version of Jeff Buckley. She made like the song and listened closely..."Hallelujah" to her..lol "Hallelujah" I've heard there was a secret chord That David played, and it pleased the Lord But you don't really care for music, do you? It goes like this The fourth, the fifth The minor fall, the major lift The baffled king composing Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Your faith was strong but you needed proof You saw her bathing on the roof Her beauty in the moonlight overthrew you She tied you to a kitchen chair She broke your throne, and she cut your hair And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Baby I have been here before I know this room, I've walked this floor I used to live alone before I knew you. I've seen your flag on the marble arch Love is not a victory march It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah There was a time when you let me know What's really going on below But now you never show it to me, do you? And remember when I moved in you The holy dove was moving too And every breath we drew was Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Maybe there’s a God above But all I’ve ever learned from love Was how to shoot at someone who outdrew you It’s not a cry you can hear at night It’s not somebody who has seen the light It’s a cold and it’s a broken Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah You say I took the name in vain I don't even know the name But if I did, well, really, what's it to you? There's a blaze of light in every word It doesn't matter which you heard The holy or the broken Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah I did my best, it wasn't much I couldn't feel, so I tried to touch I've told the truth, I didn't come to fool you And even though it all went wrong I'll stand before the Lord of Song With nothing on my tongue but Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah |
Buzzonix: You got mail Sir.I have replied to it but I keep getting that you have a mail message |
yishawu Azeezat: Earth is a test ground, hence the challenges, while paradise(not heaven) is the place for those who believe in God(I'm trying to be neutral. I.e xtain jewisn nd islam. All have diff veiws but have a focal point which is believe in One God).quite a refreshing response from a Muslim, but your response raises some questions; If earth is a test ground for God's creation and God is said to be an all knowing omnipotent and omniscient being, then what exactly is the essence of a test when he already knows what the outcome of such test will be? Don't you see that it flaws and contradicts the omniscient nature of God? yishawu Azeezat: As a muslim I believe that man will be rewarded according to belief and morals. Anyone who believes in God yet commits sin will be punished in this world, if its not enough then in the grave and if not yet pure, then on judgement day and if not yet pure of his immorality then in hell for final cleanings b4 being admitted to Paradise.who determines what is a sin to God, you know that is clearly relative and subjective. Would you blame the unbelief of people towards the Koran or the old testament portion of the Bible where God is clearly depicted as a violent intolerant being that sanctions slavery, wars, earthnic cleansing and the suppression of women? Do you know the violent depictions in these holy books clearly conflicts with the moral values of many unbelievers hence their unbelief in God which can be termed a sin to God, of which the consequence is lack of reward in heaven and damnation in hell. Will it be fair to cast people in hell and deny them paradise on the ground that they sinned for having a moral value that does not support God's violence or sanctions of violence? yishawu Azeezat: Paradise is another existence with its own requirement just has the earth or world is a existence it own requirement. As theist, we know we didn't creat this world so we don't own the rules and regulation.Sir, it would be greatly appreciated if you could elaborate more on your postulation earthly and paradise requirements cos I am not aware of such requirements. yishawu Azeezat: Theist are just ppl who read the manual of a new appliances to know how to use instead of just using becos you bought it or U̶̲̥̅̊ believe U̶̲̥̅̊ are smarter. As a muslim, you will only be judged according to what you have. If U̶̲̥̅̊ are living in the jungle and have neva heard of God nd monotheism, then you shall judged according to your deeds(conscience). Remember Allah will only judge you according to what he gives you!in essence you are saying Alah has different manuals with different rule and requirements for thesame creations to live on earth? Does that not depict God as a confusionist want to confuse his creations about the real requirement for making it to heaven yet he threatens to cast them in hell if they don't get it right? My brother, you have only succeeded in confirming the view that the notion of heaven has a serious moral burden that renders its existence null and void. I |

I am a little busy now, I shall come back to give summaries of this very thought provoking piece. I need my christian brothers to please respond to some of the issues raised by the writer. |
For easier understanding and not to bore anyone with a lengthy post, I have decided to rather post a summarized version of the piece I had posted earlier on. The piece discusses and raises some questions about the notion of heaven as believed especially by the christian faithfuls. Basically, according to the christian religious belief heaven is a place where a good Christians go to after death to live in eternal bliss with "God Almighty". However, this very basic understanding of heaven when logically scrutinized is greatly flawed and almost very superficial and even seem to portray God as some wicked tyrant playing a sickening chess game with the helpless and hapless beings he created. While there are so many arguments that flaw the notion of an existing after this life, where God lives, the most potent question that has continued to put a lie to the religious claims of heaven is the moral question of the presence FREEWILL and its consequent results in heaven. For instance, every Christian will tell you that free will is God’s greatest gift to man and yet it is also the root of all evil. If it were not for God giving man free will, man would not have eaten from the tree of knowledge and subsequently would not have unleashed evil upon the world. Let us not forget how such postulation contradicts the omnipotent and omniscient nature of God, anyway, that is a debate for another thread. Now let’s examine what heaven means to a free-willed creation of God. First, does God allow free will in heaven? If the answer is yes, does that mean that one can choose to leave heaven? Can any thought, action, or argument against God cause a supposedly saved soul to be cast from heaven right down to hell? Can't a person choose to assault another soul in heaven, or even blaspheme against God? If not, can a soul truly have free will? ![]() If the answer is “Of course they have free will to do these things, but no one will want to when they get to heaven,” then that raises another question: “Why, then didn’t God go one step further and create an Earth where people have free will, but don’t want to commit crimes. If God is truly Good, shouldn’t he want to reduce as much as possible the sufferings of his creation if he is able?” What kind of a good and loving God would choose the earth model when presented alongside with the heaven model? ![]() If the answer is "No, there is no free will in Heaven", then why call it heaven? ![]() Why will anyone want to live eternally in a place with a God who does not grant his creation free-will? It therefor leads to the conclusion that heaven the site of the almighty, all perfect God is not perfect after all which by extension means the creator is as well not perfect as erroneously believed. If the answer goes thus, “Yes, there is free will and yes, one can be cast from heaven,” then it raises another question, why call it heaven or paradise if it is the same as Earth? Why even call it by a different name?” ![]() Finally, another question that comes up often in arguments with theists regarding the nature of God and Heaven is how a benevolent God could possibly be so angry over minor infractions as to banish his creation, which he supposedly loves, into fire and torture for eternity. If you knew that you were going to heaven for an eternity, but knew that your "unsaved loved ones"-be they parents, siblings, children or even just your friends-were going to spend eternity in misery and insufferable pain, how could you possibly be truly happy in heaven? How could you call it heaven? Feel free to answer the best you can, theist or not. I have a feeling that theists will have a hard time looking at these questions and not wondering themselves about the religion they’ve bought into without contradicting some doctrine or dogma in their Bible or falling back on the “God works in mysterious ways, we are not meant to know them all” argument. |
Ishilove: Lol. The bolded is the reason why I will NEVER date or marry an atheist.only a slow person will quote or even view Obadiah as a Christian role model, that dude is dense and is in the habit of making things up. I laughed my boxers to shitts in an argument he had with a poster in which he claimed isreal was the first man on earth, bad enough for him, the guy he was arguing with was obviously smarter and more knowledgeable than him, he made minced meat out of him. Next time quote better Christians like Pastor Play or Frosbel with a better understanding of what they are arguing, not that I agree with their arguments though but the premise of their arguments are usually informed...... by the way, is the Obadiah guy late? as in dead? |
@ incrediblestev: Sad but true. This reminds me of an ex-Roman Catholic priest who after ditching his faith and vocation decided to go down the route of lecturing in the university. This guy, who received his MPhil from Cambridge and DPhil from Oxford, couldn't get lecturing jobs in Nigerian religious studies departments because he was considered an apostate. When he finally got a job offer in one university where he wasn't previously known, he had to throw in the towel in the end because he simply couldn't tow their crooked, uncultured, intellectually impotent paths. He left Nigeria in the end and is now an Assistant Professor of Religious Studies in the US. What an absolute SHAME! Nigeria is irredeemably lost.
imagine what the man had to face just for being a non-believer, religion is very dangerous, especially when dealing with the very organized ones like the Catholics and Islam with very powerful institutions and political power. They can choose to make things difficult for you in places that matter, from seeking a job, having a career or even having a relationship. It goes beyond believing in a God that needs to serviced through organized worship and gathering, it seeks to control or regulate people and their thought process, its major aim is power not neccessarily a God. That is why it is very dangerous to argue openly against it especially as a young person with very and promising future looking ahead. I respect people's choice of religion even when I don't agree with their beliefs. I only argue or debate with ignorant notions they sometimes put up about their religion being the only way to a fulfilled life and eternal life..... I once told a Christian friend who kept disturbing me about eternal life, I asked, "what is the use of an eternal life that according to your bible is synonymous with slavery in heaven, as I won't be entitled to free will, thought process or even allowed to make a mistake and learn from it, who wants to live the boring life of perfection, definitely not me. |
On a more serious note, I believe people will get into trouble less if they choose not to make a show of their non-belief and just act like everyone else. In my house I don't go to church but when my family members are around and may be there is something like a thanksgiving or something similar they need me to attend with them, I willingly oblige them. It is pointless trying to convince a believer or make them see reasons, you will only be risking your relationship with them and coming across as some demon possessed person..... religion is a very strong and sensitive issue for one to be debating openly with people who have largely been indoctrinated and brainwashed right from time immemorial. |
Like okija Juju I stopped believing in religion without neccessarily being influenced, I just couldn't come to terms with many of the incongruous and incredulous submissions of the "good book"......the more I tried to believe the more silly my attempts .... then I turned to history and religious philosophy, I think that even worsened it for me and I just gave up the whole religious charade and just decided to live my life as a person in control of it. To tell you the truth, I have become a better person since I decided to stop believing religious nonsense, I can better relate with religious folks of different faith without neccessarily having that "you need to be saved chip on my shoulder "...you gain better understanding of life and the human behaviour when you drop those religious inhibitions. One thing however that I don't do is to flaunt my non-belief indiscriminately to the point where I begin to alienate people or make them feel uncomfortable around me. Like Robert Green postulates in 48 Laws of power; "think as you like but behave like everyone else". Your Mum is probably hurt because you flaunt your non-beliefs in her presence and it offends her. Trust me brother, you don't need all that guilt and stress, if you continue that way you might end up incurring some serious loss that is avoidable cos believers are in the majority. I only share my religious thoughts and ideals with like minds and people that understand deeply the historicity of religion. But when in company of belivers who most of the time are people I deal with, I just get along with their beliefs and share it with them, life is much easier without complications if we are more discreet and respect people's rights to believe or not to believe even when in their own beliefs they don't reciprocate thesame gesture. All you can do for your mum is act normal and go to church or whatever religious rituals they want you to do with them, don't debate or openly show how ridiculous their beliefs are, you will only be drawing trouble to yourself. Funny enough, in company of friends, I spent the last 30mins of 2013 in a Catholic Church believing and singing of course to "God" with them, what can be more fulfilling and rejuvenating than showing I have beliefs too..... of course the one I share with them. |
precious00: Thats sentimental, its just lyk telling me to say that ahaba(asaba) is more developed than lagos, even when i know its not true...haba, y shud i lie abt my rootsyou are obviously not from Delta state...... from the way you keep trying to validate yourself, OT shows that you are a phoney confusionist. abeg let real deltans talk Boko. |
mapet: 1. there was a verifiable census activity that was embarked upon by Lagos State government. It ran parallel to the Federal government recent cesus exercise with equal staffing and arrangements. That was where the over 4million housing figures came from. Please supply us the basis of over 2million buildings in Anambra with veritable facts. Else I'm tempted to belive as many do here you just went intellectually berserck just in desperation to argue. You are yet to furnish us with a verifiable source to your own 20million claims of Lagos state population yet you question my random use of 2million houses in Anambra state, don't you see how hypocritical you sound? And please get my argument right before bandying global demographics standards of population statistics, my argument is that an increasing population will be felt more in a small land space when compared to a larger one. It is common sense that is even espoused in gas laws, when you take thesame figure and spread it in a much larger area like Calabar or Kano, you might come off with a different impression of thesame population, that is the reason why I was not too surprised when it was claimed in the last federal government census that Kano has a higher population than Lagos , though heavily flawed but it is an indicator as well. Kano is heavily populated as well, probably more than Lagos but because most part of Lagos is dense as a result of its small landmass, one can make the mistake of thinking Lagos has a higher population than Kano..... Being heavily populated is very different from having a higher population. |
If we were to go by number of residential buildings, we can say thesame for places like Anambra states with over 2 million residential 4 storeys not to talk of the other varients, should we now conclude and say Anambra has a population of 10-15million people? You argue as if every house in Lagos is for residential purpose, abeg, you guys should calm down with the ridiculous claims of Lagos having a population of 20 million. People should not forget that because the landmass of Lagos is very small compared to the population it has, every part of Lagos will densely populated giving a somewhat exaggerated impression of figures. Spread thesame population in a state like cross river or Niger state or Kano, you will get a different impression. Apart from wild and unfounded guesses, there is hardly any respectable authority that makes such preposterous claims, let's be moderate with our assumptions and guesses so we can be taken seriously, I live and work in Lagos too |
Anyone that takes the very sentimental and exaggerated figures being bandied by shymex is not smart at all. From the way he keeps making ignorant claims in his posts, it is obvious the guy does not even live in the said Lagos. Lagos population is not anywhere close to 20million people, no intelligent person will make such a preposterous claim just prove his point. And it can not be denied that there is large scale corruption going on in LSG, fashola is trying but he is no saint or extraordinary. |
It is a welcome development that there is now a formidable opposition(even though equally corrupt and perhaps might even be worse than PDP) that can make the PDP sit up and tilt towards people friendly moves. By the way, Tinubu needs to shut up and stop yapping about fighting corruption he sounds like a broken record, we all know he is corruption personified, the selection process of his party is not subject to a free and fair selection process, neither is any member of the APC saints, they are all just as corrupt as their counter parts in the PDP. |
Bodmas06: For me is better than packing all the money and put it in his pocket, or what do u think? He should embezzle the money meant for the project? Abeg jare let him do somethingand you don't think this white elephant gift is a diversionary antics to deflect attention while siphoning the money in the name of building a cargo airport? we deserve the leaders we get walahi! |
There is too much sentimentality in the way those in support of this misplaced project are putting forth their arguments. Whether you lots like to believe it or not, there is no economic viability in such a nonsensical project to begin with, even Oyo state with its size and volume of commerce does not get enough activities to sustain the airport not to talk of the other neighbouring states with thesame ambitious but misplaced projects. Unless the whole essence of building such an airport is for egoboosting rights, there is no way a rural state like Osun whose population is largely agrarian and peasants will be able to sustain such a project. Who is going to use the cargo airport, the peasant farmers? one joker even suggested that the cargo airport will be used to transport agricultural produce from these peasants, what a joke, on whose Bill will such expense rest? The peasants or the thoughtless state government. Ogbeni is blinded by stewpid ego-riding contest with states that are way above his state's league, Akwa Ibom no be osun mate both in infrastructural development and money flow, so make him no bother. I suspect he is just creating a distraction to siphon funds with worthless projects that will be done shabbily while the gullible lots in the SW will be screaming APC development blablabla... . |
Another thoughtless and miscalculated ego-riding project with little or no viability..... cargo airport in a state that is largely rural with little or no serious economic activities going on there.... Lagos and may be Oyo states are the only SWest states that can be talking of such project not rural osun state. what is the essence of building an international cargo airport in a state whose economy does not rely on shipment of goods or buying and selling..... how many big businesses are in Osun state to warrant a white elephant project.... na wa for all these our leaders sef.... Dem can sabi do rubbish just to look busy |

there is something off about the report...... why will an old white woman take a homeless black boy to her home just to help him..... there is more to this story than meet the eyes..... I suspect that the woman probably wanted to forcefully have sex with the boy and in the process it went awry |
