That Pdp results have just figures scored by Atiku and Buhari. If presiding officers want to transmit results from polling unit to server isn't it supposed to include results obtained by other contestants?

@SOUNDAZA

Bayelsa House of Assembly on Wednesday approved monthly pensions to speakers, deputy speakers and other members of assembly.

The bill sponsored by the leader of the House, Peter Akpe, which was passed on the floor of the House, approved N500,000 post service monthly pension to the speakers of the assembly. The deputy speakers are to earn monthly pension of N200, 000 while other rest 24-member capacity assembly will earn N100,000 each.

The bill specifically provided that former lawmakers including persons of Bayelsa origin, who served in the old Rivers State, would enjoy life pensions for their services in the state as applicable to former presidents, vice-presidents, governors and deputy governors across the country.

To qualify for the speakership pension of N500, 000 monthly, the lawmaker the person must have served for two years and above. Most stakeholders in Bayelsa State took to different social media platforms to criticise the bill, deriding the lawmakers for being selfish and insensitive.

A resident, Fidel Boboye, described the move as greed in the highest places and wondered why such political office holders with the wealth and money they had amassed still awarded life pensions to themselves.

Another resident Preye Alegbe, said: “Is this not too much for these persons even as there are many graduates out there without good jobs? Why can’t the legislature channel these legislations to areas where the younger generations can benefit more”.

Like I always say, Nigeria's problem is not Apc or Pdp. It's Nigerians that is Nigeria's problem.
This is Pdp dominated house for instance, just the same way Apc is misbehaving.
The people that make up the various parties will always display that wickedness in them irrespective of party.
The average Nigerian politician is selfish regardless of party affiliation.

Oshomole isn't that stupid, it is very easy to know he moves because he hits hard.

If he wanted to stop obaseki at primary by now you would have seen his supposed candidate a year to.

Oshomole as recent as last month canvassed for support for obaseki.

Obaseki has the palace blessing (oshomole would not want to offend the palace support he has been enjoying because he always would fall back to it politically).
Just last week, one of oshiomhole 's political machines that was used to give victory to Obaseki in the last primary election has endorsed Obaseki/shaibu for a second term. I mean the Edo in safe hands group, that's oshiomhole 's political machine headed by osarodion ogie, Philip shaibu and many core oshiomhole boys.it was this group that was used to defeat odubu at the primaries the last time. They control more than 75% of Apc delegates in the state.

In the end it was just a little above 7,000 votes. Now you've started with your naive analysis again, this time on Edo 2020 election. Obaseki's re-election will be the easiest election in the history of Edo politics. You can take that to the bank.

That guy no even know anything, i doubt if he's from Edo. Obaseki is a star! Even pdp leaders in the state are impressed with his style and achievements so far.I also will give kudos to oshiomhole for spotting Obaseki, nobody gave him a chance. I remember how he fought many party leaders just to push through the Obaseki project then. Obaseki is an astute manager of resources. Come next year,he'll receive a pan- Edo endorsement for a second term.

There's no contest in Edo state come next year.
What is going to happen is just a referendum on Obaseki and he's going to win in all the wards and local govt in Edo state.
Stop day-dreaming about a conflict that only exist in your head. There's no problem between oshiomhole and Obaseki,he has publicly eulogised him and called for more support for him in various fora.Obaseki enjoys a cross party endorsement in Edo state. Obaseki has no contestant right now,his re-election is one way.18 over 18.

Politics › Re: House Speakership Dogara Rallies PDP, APC Reps To Stage Surprise by Indispensable85(m): 11:05am On Apr 07, 2019
actiondrilling:
Ahead of the June 6 inauguration of the 9th National Assembly (NASS), the race for the Speaker of the House of Representatives is getting interesting as incumbent Speaker, Yakubu Dogara is strategising to cash in on the self-inflicted discord ravaging the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), to retain his seat.

Reliable sources told The Guardian that the Speaker, who may be in possession of a trump card, is quietly reaching out to the 123 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members-elect and a section of APC members, who are occupying key committee positions in a bid to curry their support. Dogara, who has maintained studied silence on his ambition, had through his aide on media and public affairs, Malam Hassan Adamu Turaki, said he won’t be dragged into talks on the speakership, but would rather occupy himself with the task of serving out his tenure successfully.

However, moves by members-elect from the North Central and South East geo-political zones to take a shot at the speakership may sound the death knell for the ruling party’s zoning of the seat to the South West geo-political zone. With unfolding developments, there is the likelihood that contest could get unmanageable when the 9th NASS is inaugurated in less than 60 days, because lawmakers from both zones insist that APC’s decision smacks of insensitivity to the need to adhere to the principles of federal character aimed at ensuring equitable distribution of positions of power in the country.

The North Central Caucus Stakeholders led by Mr. John Dyegh (APC, Benue) faulted the APC’s stance, wondering why the speakership should be zoned to the South West even when the number two citizen, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, comes from there. They anchored their position on the provisions of Section 14(3) of the 1999 Constitution as amended, which says: “The composition of the Government of the Federation or any of its agencies shall be carried out in a manner as to reflect the Federal Character of Nigeria, thereby ensuring that there shall be no predominance of persons from a few ethnic or sectional groups in that government or any of its agencies, in order to command loyalty and peaceful coexistence.”

Lawmakers that have so far delared interest in Dogara’s job include; Ahmed Idris Wase (APC, Plateau), Muhammed Umar Bago (APC, Niger), and Nkeiruka Onyejeocha (APC, Abia). They said they are better placed to take the seat than Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila, who is the preferred choice of APC. Wase’s candidacy is already gaining grounds among lawmakers from the zone, who argue that he stands out in view of his years of experience, commitment to the party, sense of organisation and leadership qualities.

Moreover, Wase known with the sobriquet “Maje,” remains one of the strong pillars of the APC in Plateau State, with his constituency consistently voting for President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC in all elections.Beyond his native Plateau State, other lawmakers say record of service in his three terms (from 2007 to date) speaks loud for him.

As a member of different standing committees in the 6th, 7th and the current 8th House, such as Emergency & Disasters, Environment, Capital Market, as well as the Federal Character, which he chaired twice, Wase’s contributions accelerated the passage of numerous executive bills such as the Companies & Allied Matters Act (Amendment) Bill 2018, and the Deep Offshore and Inland Basins Production Sharing Contract (Amendment) Bill 2018.

These contributions seem to endear him to his colleagues, resulting in his elevation to the position of Deputy Leader of the House after the demise of Umar Buba Jibril, early last year.Bago, a second termer at a cocktail he hosted for new and returning House members in Abuja noted: “I won’t be in this race in the first place if this position was zoned to the South East because I will see equity in it, but for it to be zoned to South West there is no equity at all.

Feelers, however, reveal that APC may fall back on Wase to ensure that Dogara does not spring a surprise by cashing on the determined efforts by lawmakers from North Central. A former House member, Mr. Lumumba Dah-Adeh, who is more predisposed to Wase’s emergence, explained that the current configuration of the country’s political structure favours the North Central to produce the speaker.

Adeh, who represented Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency from 1999 to 2003, said Wase possesses the quality of a high-class lawmaker with the capacity to effectively preside over the House.Nevertheless, Gbajabiamila, who remains the candidate to beat is being endorsed by most members of the North West and North East geo-political zones who occupy over one third of seats in the 360-member lower legislative chamber.

He was in the Federal House in 1992. I am sure you don't know as you never bothered to check. Now, you know.
There's a difference between being a lawmaker and being a senator. A state house of assembly member is a lawmaker. A member of the legislative arm of a local govt is a lawmaker.
The Senate rule is clear,a first time senator can not be the Senate president.
