CrimePhoto: Housewife Dumps Day Old Baby Into Toilet by information1(op): 12:20am On Jun 28, 2015
People in Okpoko of Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State were, on Thursday, stunned when the news broke that a housewife in the area, names withheld, had dumped her new born baby into the latrine.

She was said to have a distended stomach, an unconventional nature that made numerous individuals in the region, not to be mindful that she was pregnant. She decided to dump the newborn baby into the toilet, to save her the agony of nursing a baby, which, she said, could disturb her business.
Nigerian Tribune gathered that when a member of the family, her brother-in-law, wanted to use the toilet, he discovered that water could not flush the waste, as his faeces remained floating.

Her brother-in-law, a source revealed, therefore, decided to deep his hand into the toilet, and discovered, to his surprise, that a placenta had been dumped into the toilet, a situation which made him to scream, attracting other residents to the scene, who in utter disbelief, removed the lifeless baby from the toilet.

When the whole family met shortly after the incident and summoned other family members, some of them saw traces of blood stain on the woman’s clothes, the wife of their elder brother, but she refused to give details of the bizarre act, and even denied knowledge of what happened.

She was thereafter taken to a maternity home where it was confirmed that she had given birth to a baby, but when the husband was contacted, he said his wife was in police custody and declined further comments.

CrimeMy Arrest Politically Motivated -screams Adoke's Cousin Arrested For Robbery by information1(op): 7:37am On Jun 27, 2015
72year old veteran journalist and a self-acclaimed human rights activist, Pa Ahmed Adoke, said he had yet to fully understand why he was in custody, when he was paraded alongside 45 others on charges of armed robbery, kidnapping and cattle rustling.Adoke, who is related to a former Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Mr. Mohammed Adoke, was paraded with the others by the police in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital on Monday. But he continues to maintain his innocence as his family said he was on his own.

Even though the police did not allow journalists to interview the suspect, the septuagenarian kept shouting that he was not guilty of the allegations preferred against him by the police.
He kept shouting on top of his voice that his arrest was politically motivated. According to him, the police only invited him to come and clarify some petitions written against him. He added that it was surprising that he was being detained and paraded as a criminal.

“I am not guilty of the offences the police alleged that I committed. The police only came to search my house following a petition and found nothing. I am surprised that I am being paraded this way. I am innocent, I am innocent. I did not commit any crime,” he shouted.

Alhaji Bello Adoke, who is the father of the former Minister of Justice, confirmed to journalists later in a media briefing that the suspect was a member of the Adoke family.
He explained that the man in custody is a cousin of his son (former Minister of Justice, Mohammed Adoke), but added that his arrest had nothing to do with the family.

He said that the suspect acted on his own and that whatever happened to him should not be linked to the family.

While parading the 45 suspects, the Force Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Emmanuel Ojukwu, in company with top police officers from the state, said the police arrested Adoke aka Buruja, John Sule (40), Adoke Jimoh (25) and Suberu Amina aka Devil (53) and other suspects for suspected armed robbery and kidnapping.

He claimed that the suspects had made useful statements and confessed to their involvement in several robberies and kidnapping, adding that investigation was still in progress.

Ojukwu said,

“Intelligence reports and useful information from good citizens led to the arrest of the suspects known to have been fingered severally in armed robbery and kidnapping cases. Indeed all the suspects are on police wanted list.”

Nairaland GeneralPhoto: Our Pastor Is Not Dead; He Will Resurrect by information1(op): 7:19am On Jun 27, 2015
•Late Pastor Chukwuemeka OkpokpoCommercial activities were, Monday, disrupted for the better part of the day along Oba Kayode Way, in Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Area of Lagos State, following sporadic gunshots from three heavily-armed men operating on a motorcycle. The gunshots sent fear-stricken motorists and passers-by scampering for safety.

In their desperate bid to leave the scene, motorists increased their speed limit while companies, including transport operators around the axis, hurriedly shut their entrance gates, depriving those who attempted to take cover in their premises, from entering.

By the time the dust settled, some vehicles were reportedly discovered to have sunk into the numerous potholes covered by flood, with the drivers abandoning them at the mercy of the gunmen.

Death at noon

Shockingly, the driver of one of the vehicles was seen lying helplessly inside his bus in a pool of his blood. He was the victim of volleys of bullets released by the gunmen. By the time curious on-lookers checked, the man was found stone dead while reclining on his seat with head facing downwards.

On closer observation, he was discovered to be wearing a lemon-coloured reflective jacket of the Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries, whose headquarters is located in Ijesha, not too far away from the scene of the tragedy. The bus he drove was also discovered to be owned by the church.

Visit to bank

The victim was later identified as Pastor Chukwuemeka Augustine Okpokpo, the Lagos State Coordinator of the church. Information at Crime Guard’s disposal has it that he left the church that fateful day, informing some of his members that were with him that he was going to the bank to withdraw some money. But shortly after he left the bank his assailants came calling.

Eyewitness accounts

Eyewitnesses told Crime Guard that it was obvious that Okpokpo was the target of the gunmen. This is because they focused their attention on him while shooting. They were said to have apparently trailed him right from the bank before releasing some shots.

An eyewitness who simply gave his name as Ndubuisi said: “I had gone to the bank to deposit some money and was on my way back to Okota when the bandits started shooting. I hurriedly parked my vehicle on reaching the bad spot and ran into the bush by the median, where I laid flat, praying to God to spare my life.

“From there, I saw a Lord’s Chosen bus slow down on reaching the bad spot and immediately the robbers got to the bus, they shot at the tyres. A man on the steering was about to come out and escape, only for one of the robbers to move close to him and shot him at close range.

Thereafter, he (the gunman) opened the door and brought out a nylon containing some money. He came back to where his victim was, looked at him for some seconds and nodded his head before joining his two other colleagues on the motorbike. They made a U-turn and disappeared the same way the came.”

Controversy trails killing

However, controversy has begun to trail the death of late Okpokpo, as many are of the view that the gunmen were assassins. Those close to him, however, did not rule out the fact that his killers could be close associates from the same vineyard whom they alleged may be envious of him.

Pastor Okpokpo, as gathered, reportedly incurred the envy of some of his church members, owing to his uprightness in executing projects entrusted to him. His killing, as gathered, might not be unconnected with his position as the Ministry’s Lagos State Coordinator and one of the right-hand men of the General Overseer of the church, Pastor Lazarus Mouka.

A member of the church in the ministerial cycle who did not want his name in print told Crime Guard that there was more to Okpokpo’s death than mere armed robbery operation, hinting that the deceased attained the position of the church’s state coordinator, owing to his stand against corruption and unnecessary inflation of projects.

According to him: “Pastor Chukwuemeka,” as they all called him, “was one of the trusted hands in the church. In fact, he wormed his way into the G.O.’s heart through honesty, hard work, dedication and commitment to the well being of the church. The first time he was given a building project of N1.2 billion to execute, he rendered account accurately and even brought the balance of money, an act that had never been done by those who handled such projects in the past.

Others would not render account and would, rather, demand for more money. Since then, our G.O. entrusted key projects to him. This created an open rivalry as most people saw him as a stumbling block to their financial uplift. He usually queried inflated projects which put those involved in a bad light.”

Another area which generated controversy was the fact that the bus with plate number EPE 101 BE that was driven by him, reportedly had no stain on it. Relatives of the deceased who saw the bus told Crime Guard that there was no sign that someone who was shot in the stomach was brought out of the bus.

Premonition

Crime Guard gathered that Pastor Okpokpo could have had premonition of the tragedy that befell him, as he reportedly complained of tiredness and boredom before leaving his 41 Adisa Cooker abode in Iju area of the state, where he lived in a one room sublet of a three-bedroom flat.

The deceased, as gathered, only returned from a crusade from one of the South-Western states last Saturday, and was actively involved in the preparation of a forthcoming crusade billed for July 4 and 5, 2015 at the church’s headquarters in Ijesha, Lagos, with the theme ‘It is God’s time’.

He was said to have coordinated the posting of bills and tying of banners for the crusade in every nook and cranny of Iju as well as other areas and complained of exhaustion. But little did he understand the message being passed through his instincts. With a declaration of faith, he stepped out of his house and drove the missionary bus assigned to him, without the slightest inclination that he would never live to witness the success of the crusade he had put so much energy.

Journey to Europe

Crime Guard gathered that before branching into ministry, the late Okpokpo who was from a humble background, had like others, travelled to Europe in search of greener pastures. He reportedly lived in Greece and Italy for several years, before returning to Nigeria in 2003, to attend one of his cousin’s wedding but could not return to Europe since then. It was in the process that he was introduced to the church by his eldest sister who passed on six months ago.

Pastor Chukwuemeka is not dead

Efforts to speak with the church’s spokesperson, Mr Chidi Louis, failed as he was said to be in the church when this reporter visited, Thursday. He affirmed that in a text sent to his mobile line with a reply saying: “In the service, please.” Attempt to get the reactions of some members of the church was greeted by expression of surprise on their faces as they claimed that their Pastor was alive.

In fact, one of them, a woman with the lemon-coloured reflective jacket gazed at this reporter, saying: “Who told you he is dead? That is how you journalists will be talking anyhow. Pastor Chukwuemeka is not dead. He has performed miracles that were beyond human comprehension through the power of God and such a person cannot go down the grave like that. God’s power is still at work and will do the miraculous in his life.”

It was gathered that after he was shot dead, the body of Pastor Okpokpo was taken to the church clinic where it was discovered that he was shot in the stomach and the bullet pierced out from the back. Undaunted by the bodily damage, as they put it, members of the church prayer warriors reportedly went into warfare prayer from 12.30pm to 8pm, believing firmly that he would resurrect.

Although the body has been taken to the home town of the deceased in Amizi, Ikwuano Local Government Area, Umuahia, Abia State, where it was deposited in a morgue, church members are still hopeful that he would resurrect from the morgue. When his twin sister, Evangelist Augustina Chibueze was contacted, she asserted authoritatively that her twin brother was not dead. According to her: “He cannot die because it is not yet time for him to die.

Our Pastor (Pastor Mouka) has said that nobody is permitted to die a day before God’s pre-destined time. The God of Chosen whom I serve will resurrect Chukwuemeka. That grave that rejected Jesus will also reject Chukwuemeka. He is not dead. We are still praying. No matter how long he stays in the morgue, he will resurrect and come to testify because God of Chosen will bring him back to life,” she stated with all sense of conviction.

Mouka rains curses on killers

On his part, Pastor Mouka was said to be too devastated to speak when he met with some family members of the deceased in the church . Trying hard not to betray his emotion, Mouka was quoted as saying that he was overwhelmed by the tragedy because the deceased was close to him.

Crime Guard gathered that he later held a meeting with all Pastors where news of the death of Pastor Okpokpo was officially announced. A visibly angry Mouka was said to have placed curses on whoever had a hand in the death of Okpokpo. He was quoted as saying: “Anyone who has a hand in Pastor Chukwuemeka’s death will never see good.”

Ghanaian declared missing in Lagos was arrested by the Police21-year-old Ghanaian, Etroo Mensah, who was declared missing after the police raided the Ikota, Ajah area of Lagos three months ago, has been found.Ereoo who came back home at 2pm last Wednesday, had been arraigned in court by the police, and was remanded at the Ikoyi Prison a week after the raid.
PUNCH Metro had exclusively reported on June 10, that the family members of the Ghanaian were anxious about his whereabouts, after he was arrested during a police raid in the Ikota area on March 14.It was reported that Etroo’s mother, Elizabeth, and elder brother, Napoleon, had gone round all police divisions in Ajah to look for him, but it was a fruitless search.
Speaking with PUNCH Metro on Saturday, the Ghanaian said he and 35 persons were arrested and taken to the Ajah Police Division after the raid.

He added that while others were bailed by their family members, he and three others were tried in a court the following Monday and remanded at the Ikoyi Prison.
He said,

“On that morning, at about 6am, I was at a shop to buy a tube of toothpaste. I saw everyone running. I did not run because I had not committed any offence. Suddenly, a man grabbed me from behind, handcuffed me and threatened to shoot me if I ran.
“They arrested about 40 persons from the street. They had a big bus. They took all of us to the Ajah division and lined us at the station. Four women were among us. They took some of us to the Elemoro Police Station. We were in Elemoro for four days.

“That was where I called my brother. While we spoke, I told him we were arrested by policemen from the Ajah station, I was about telling him I had been taken to Elemoro when a police woman, Juliana Adeniyi, snatched the mobile phone from me.

“By the following Tuesday, family members had come to bail most of us. It remained about six of us inside the cell. I could not reach my family because the police woman did not return my mobile phone. I did not have their contacts off hand.
“On that day, we were arraigned at the Tinubu Magistrates’ Court and four of us were taken to Ikoyi Prison from there.

“That was where I had been for three months. The three others were Olaosebikan Temitope, Stephen Adjei, and one Rasak. I am the only Ghanaian. The three others also said they were innocent on the matter.”

Etroo added that the four of them kept appearing in court with no complainant and prosecutor till the magistrate struck out the case on Tuesday, June 16.
He said,

“In my cell, there were many bedbugs. We were sleeping on a rug. The rug was the home of bugs and they sucked life out of me. I was in cell 06 with four other persons. I met one man inside the prison, named Awolowo, who was nice to me and gave me money sometimes to meet my needs.
“The meals were not regular, but they were not bad. The four of us kept appearing in the court until June 16, when the magistrate declared us acquitted and discharged. I begged for money to pay for my transport fares back to Ajah. I thank God that I am back home at last.”

Our correspondent gathered that Etroo was taken to a hospital for treatment from Wednesday till Friday after developing malaria.
The elder brother, Napoleon, told PUNCH Metro that the family was happy for the publication, adding that they were glad to have Etroo back home.

CelebritiesPhotos: After Begging For Help..britain's Fattest Man Dies At 33 by information1(op): 12:40am On Jun 22, 2015
Britain's fattest man, who weighed 65 stone, has tragically died at his home in Kent.Carl Thompson, 33, had been confined to his home for a year, relying on NHS carers to wash and feed him.

After speaking out about his plight last month, the 33-year-old vowed to shed weight in order to stay alive, adding that he had been 'touched' by the outpouring of sympathy and offers of help he'd received in the wake of several media interviews.

Mr Thompson said that he was desperate to change his lifestyle after being warned by doctors that his ill health would kill him.

'Any professional opinion or other knowledge would be great,' he said.

Unable to leave the house to go food shopping, the 33-year-old lived on Chinese takeaways and pizzas that he had delivered to his door.
He also claimed to have spent £10 a day on chocolate, relying on state handouts for money

While Mr Thompson attributed most of his weight gain to the death of his mother, he admitted that he had always 'loved' food.

'I waz only about three or four and no one knew why I did it. I would just eat anything out of the cupboards,' he said.

When his mother died of a brain tumour in 2012, he turned to unhealthy food as a means of coping with his grief.

His weight soon doubled from 30stone to 65, leaving him unable to work.

CrimePhoto: We Deceived Victims By Roaring Like Lions - Robbery Kingpin by information1(op): 12:01am On Jun 21, 2015
A cursory glance at the three able-bodied youths whose ages range between 18 and 26, will easily pass them for malnourished and ailing individuals, judging by their fragile and seeming innocent and harmless looks. But how wrong that can be. The police in Lagos alleged that they are rather suspected members of a notorious seven-man robbery gang that had been terrorizing Iyana-Ipaja, Dopemu and other areas of the state, including neighboring Sango-Ota in Ogun state.

The suspects Taiwo-Amzat-and-Aremu

They were arrested by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) last Monday, in Iyana-Ipaja area of Lagos. Detectives also alleged that the gang had been unleashing mayhem on residents of these areas.

Their method of operation, according to police sources, included, carrying out a house-to-house raid and subjecting their victims to severe beatings at the end of which they were dispossessed of cash and other valuables.

The suspects in an interview with Crime Guard disclosed that their victims’ financial status were usually judged by the interior decor of their apartments, adding that any of them who out of sheer stubbornness refused to release cash befitting of the gang’s estimation of them, risked being killed.

Mild drama

A mild drama, however, played out when this reporter wanted to interview the leader of their gang. The trio resorted to theatrics as they pointed fingers at one another. This degenerated into a verbal confrontation which was immediately brought to an abrupt halt by a more menacing member of the gang identified as Taiwo Amosu (19).

Responding to the question, Taiwo said: “The fact is that we are all robbers. Nobody wants to own up as the leader because we have been arrested. Then keep quite if you are not the leader. Well, if you address me as leader of the gang , I accept. I am your leader.”

Background

Turning to this reporter, the Abeokuta, Ogun State-born youth continued in a low tone: “ I am an orphan and I have a younger brother to take care of. I learnt aluminum work in order to fend for myself and my younger brother but due to power failure, I do not have work to do.

My workshop is at Sango-Otta. It was in my search for greener pasture that I joined this robbery. I had gone to Agege that fateful day to play game with my friends – Owolabi, Akeem, Yaro, Damilola, Sanjo and Sunday – unknown to me, they were planning a robbery operation that night.

Reluctant operator

I reluctantly followed them to a building at Agege where they carried out a room-to-room operation. At the end, we went back to Sango-Otta to share the loot. I was made the leader of the gang when our leader, Damilola, left the gang, but he was still controlling us from where he was and we sent him returns. We usually tortured victims who claim not to have money in their houses.

Such comments provoked us. We knew the financial status of our victims because we usually carried out an assessment of them before striking. So, we did not condone lie or pretense from them because robbery is a serious business. In one of the operations at New Garage, we disarmed security men of their arms. When we accost any security man during operation, we normally use him as a bait to gain entry into the apartments and at the end, we would lock our victims from outside.

Our target

“We only covered our faces in areas where we feel we could be recognized. But we hardly operate around our places of abode. Our targets during operation are phones, laptops and cash. We do not shoot our victims; we only beat them and threatened to shoot if they misbehaved. We usually share our loot at Agege Motor Park.

I get between N10,000 to N30,000 at the end of each operation depending on how much was realized,” stated Taiwo who was also said to have been detained last year at the dreaded SARS over a case of cultism. He was reportedly the first to be apprehended by SARS operatives. His confessional statement led to the arrest of two other suspected members of the gang: Jamic Amsat (28) and Owolabi Aremu (22).

Gang’s armourer speaks

The suspect who was identified as the amourer for the gang, and who is simply called Amsat, claimed he had never gone to any operation with the gang. He only admitted to being the gang’s armourer.

According to him, “I have never gone to rob with them. I only keep their weapons at the end of which I got between N15,000 and N20,000. Several times, they tried to convince me to join them but I could not because I do not have the emotional stability to stand it and I do not want to kill anyone till I die.”

Roaring like lion

However, the third suspect, Owolabi Aremu, boldly described himself as the gang’s ‘bad man’, disclosing that during operation, he usually intimidated their victims with his deep voice that sounds like a roaring lion. Aremu who resides at Atubaje Street in Agege opened up: “Whenever we approached our victims and they refused to part with money befitting our assessment of them, I would shout in my baritone voice which usually put fear into them.

If, for instance, we assessed a victim for N500,00 and they brought N100,000, I would hit them hard in the face and shout, thereby forcing them to bring out the required amount. We usually take Indian hemp and alcholic drink before going for operation. That way, we would be able to do and undo.”

CrimePhotos: Charleston Church Killer Says He Almost Didn't Do It Because by information1(op): 8:08am On Jun 20, 2015
Gunman who shot dead nine black worshipers in a bible class admits the massacre but said he nearly backed out because everyone was so nice…Relatives of his victims forgave him for the killings.
Race-hate Dylann Roof, who already faces calls for the death penalty, sat for an hour with members of the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church before opening fire and killing six women and three men.
He told police:

“I wanted to start a race war, but almost didn’t go through with it because everyone was so nice.”

After the confession, Roof’s own uncle has said he would act as executioner. But as a judge asked a relative of each of those killed whether they wanted to address a bond hearing, they offered forgiveness and prayers for his soul.

Looking at the killer, the daughter of grandmother Ethel Lance, 70, said:

“I forgive you. Lord have mercy on your soul.“I will never talk to her ever again, but I forgive you. You hurt me. You hurt a lot of people but I forgive you.”

Felicia Sanders, the mother of victim Tywanza Sanders, said:

“We welcomed you in our Bible study with open arms. Every fibre in my body hurts, and I will never be the same. We enjoyed you.“Tywanza Sanders was my son. Tywanza Sanders was my hero. Tywanza was my all. May God have mercy on you.”

A representative of Myra Thompson, 59, one of those killed added:

“I forgive you and my family forgives you. Repent and confess and give your life to Christ and change your ways. You’ll be better off than you are now.”

Roof remained impassive as each relative spoke. Judge Gosnell explained he could not set bond for the murder charges.
The racist attended the bible study group at 8pm on Wednesday. At 9pm his mood changed as he stood and began ranting.

As Roof pulled a gun, Tywanza Sanders, 26, stood in front of him to save his aunt, Susie Jackson, 87. The hero tried talking him down, but the killer said:

“I have to do this “You rape our women and you’re taking over our country. And you have to go.”

Mr Sanders begged him to point the gun at him, instead of anyone else but was told:

“It don’t matter. I’m going to shoot you all.” bB

He then opened fire killing Mr Sanders, his aunt and seven others.Mr Sanders had posted video of the bible class, minutes before the killings, featuring Roof, who spared one parishioner ordering her to “tell the world” what she had seen.
The mass killer reloaded five times picking off victims including the Reverend Clementa Pinckney, a South Carolina state senator. State Governor Nikki Haley is seeking the death penalty over the killings, described by President Obama as “senseless murders”.

Roof’s uncle, Carson Cowles, said he could never forgive his nephew.
He added:

“I’ll be the one to push the button myself. If he’s found guilty. If what I am hearing is true, he needs to pay. Nobody in my family saw anything like this coming.”

4 Nigerian and a New Zealander have received long jail terms for their roles in an international drug smuggling ring, the New Zealand Police said on Friday.

Operation Gatsby was launched after Customs officers discovered methamphetamine with a street value of 1.04 million dollars in the luggage of an Auckland man who had just returned from Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea.

Detective Senior Sgt. Lloyd Schmid said officers determined that the man had been duped and used as a drug mule by an international syndicate and launched an operation to track the destination of the methamphetamine.

“During the five-week investigation, they identified two further importations containing over 1.2 kilogrammes of methamphetamine.

“Both had been sent to New Zealand through the international mail system from the Philippines and Cameroon.

“Operation Gatsby demonstrates that the New Zealand drug market is being targeted by organised crime syndicates from every corner of the globe,’’ Schmid said in the statement.
Two other members of the drug syndicate had been sentenced previously for their roles in the operation.
In August 2014, a 39-year-old woman was jailed for four years for possession of methamphetamine for supply, and in January, a 40-year-old man pleaded guilty to a similar charge and was jailed for five years and eight months.

PoliticsSenator Kashamu Confirms Plot To Poison Obasanjo by information1(op): 11:34pm On Jun 18, 2015
THE TRUE STORY
https://informationengine./2015/06/19/photo-senator-kashamu-confirms-plot-to-poison-obasanjo/
Our attention has been drawn to some insinuations and misconceptions about the arrest and prosecution of some suspected impersonators who approached Senator Buruji Kashamu with a proposal to harm former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
First, it should be noted that the suspects in their statements never denied approaching Senator Kashamu with such a proposal. Even the Police, according to a Police Report, also confirmed that they committed the alleged offences against them. There were also an associate and relation of the former President who witnessed the whole scenario.
All these facts are contained in public documents before the Chief Magistrate Court 1, Igbosere, Lagos.

The suspects actually meant business. All they wanted was for them to be given money to carry out their evil plot and then be handsomely rewarded thereafter.
It should be stated that in all his life and politics, Senator Kashamu has never plotted with anyone to harm a soul. It was when he could not stomach all that the point man, Peter Nwalaka, was telling him on the phone each time he calls him that he agreed to meet him in the presence of one of the relations of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Princess Folashade Omotade, who had been trying to make peace between him and Chief Obasanjo.
The said Princess Omotade attended the meeting with another aide of Chief Obasanjo whom Senator Kashamu introduced as his sister and brother.
Senator Kashamu also told them that they were free to say anything before them because he trusted them.
So, it was before their very own eyes that they began to say all manner of things about the former President and said they could poison him since they were close to him. For instance, while Peter showed various pictures of his close engagements with Chief Obasanjo, Victoria who was introduced as Yetunde Obasanjo, said she had an unfettered access to the former President and could easily harm him. Peter also spoke of how Chief Obasanjo leaves his drinks while playing the Ayo game, adding that the drinks could be easily used to harm him.
It was after they unveiled their evil plot before Princess Folashade Omotade and the man that came with her that Senator Kashamu invited the Police and they were arrested.
The Police investigation team was led by an Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mr. Sola Akinyede of the Zone 2 Police Command, Onikan, Lagos.
During the investigation, the suspects were taken to the Abeokuta residence of the former President who, upon seeing Victoria, screamed and wondered why she would go to his enemy with the intent to harm him. He then hit her in the head and told the Police to go jail her for five years because if they do not only God knows how many top Nigerians that will be wasted by them.
It was then that the former President said he could not believe that Senator Kashamu would be so magnanimous. He then told Princess Omotade that he had forgiven Senator Kashamu of any grudge he had against him. She, in turn, prevailed on Senator Kashamu to withdraw the N20 billion libel suit that he had instituted against Chief Obasanjo.
As an honourable man, Senator Kashamu did and the rest, as they say, is history. We thank the almighty God who has been Senator Kashamu’s refuge and fortress. He has dedicated his life to doing good to all manner of people, at all times, without fear or favour. He is not about to change irrespective of whatever anybody says or does to him because, according to him, God has been good to him. He believes that the almighty God will surely reward every man according to his deeds.

CrimePhoto:albino Girl Rescued After Uncle Tried To Sell Her To Witchdoctor by information1(op): 11:24pm On Jun 18, 2015
This little albino girl own uncle tried to sell her to a witch doctor for thousands of dollars so she could be hacked to death and her body parts used to make a potion to bring the rich and powerful luck.
Margareth Khamis was snatched from the home she shares with her mother and three siblings in northern Tanzania by a masked gang in the middle of the night last week.Mailonline reports that ,the kidnapping sparked a frantic search by the villagers, who tried to follow the gang through the bush without luck.
An entire albino body has been known to fetch £50,000 ($75,000) on the black market.

But unlike many other children with ablinism, luck was on the six-year-old’s side: local police heard a man was looking to sell a little girl for an undisclosed sum which could have run into the tens of thousands. Had he been successful, it is likely Margareth would not have been seen again.

Instead, the police set up a sting, and pretended to be a potential customer.

PoliticsWike Set To Sack Over 13,000workers Employed By Amaechi by information1(op): 8:49am On Jun 17, 2015
Governor Nyesom Wike is set to sack 13,000 workers employed by his predecessor, Rotimi Amaechi. This comes as Rivers House of Assembly passed a resolution empowering the Governor to sack the board of the State Civil Service Commission accusing them of breaching the rules and illegally employing workers into the state Service. The Rivers lawmakers passed the resolution on Tuesday after grilling the Chairman of the Service Commission, Mr Ngo Martins Yellowe on the floor of the House based on petitions accusing the Commission of not passing through due process before employing workers in past three years.

Yellowe, however, told lawmakers that the Commission under his leadership obeyed the constitution and laws guiding employment into the service.

Observers of Rivers politics however see the invitation and quizzing of Ngo Martins Yellowe by the lawmakers as a prelude to the sacking of the Commission appointed by the immediate past administration of Governor Chibuike Amaechi and also the sacking the civil servants employed three years to date, especially over 13,200 teachers and others engaged by the immediate past administration of Governor Chibuike Amaechi.

The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, RSIEC, Chairman Prof Augustine Ahiazu was invited to answer questions about how local government election was conducted. Thereafter a resolution was passed mandating Governor Wike to sack the Commission.Wike sacked RSIEC the next day.
Similarly, the Rivers State Judiciary Service Commission suffered same fate after its members were invited to the floor of the House.
The fears of over 13,200 teachers in the state, over 400 doctors and nurses employed by the former Governor Amaechi is palpable if they fall into the category of workers adjudged to have been wrongly employed into the state civil service

A Managing Director in the Lekki area of Lagos, Mr. Abiye Karibi-Whyte, has petitioned the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 2 Police Command, Onikan, Lagos, to investigate his alleged abduction by the police and the N500,000 that was paid for his bail.
PUNCH Metro learnt that Karibi-Whyte, who alleged that he was apprehended by the police in the Lekki area for no justifiable reason, said he was taken to Awka, Anambra State, and detained for three days.He added that he was made to pay N500,000 before he could secure his bail.
Our correspondent gathered that on Tuesday, April 28, Karibi-Whyte was called on the telephone to pick up a parcel in the Lekki area. However, it was learnt that when he got to the location, some policemen whisked him away after allegedly torturing him.
In the petition, dated May 6, Karibi-Whyte described the treatment he received from the policemen as harsh, adding that it made him felt that they were kidnappers.
He said,

“At about 5.30pm, I was called to pick up a DHL parcel by a caller whose phone number was 08178115226. However, when I got to the place, I was met by a man known as Jagaban, who introduced himself as a policeman. He slapped me and accused me of being a ritual killer.
“Two other armed men joined him and they beat me up. They handcuffed me and threw me in the back of my car with my driver. I kept asking them what I had done, but they told me to shut up. At a point, I was terrified as I was no longer sure they were policemen.

“They said they were heading for Ikeja. Later, I was told that I was not actually the one they were looking for and that they would let me go if I took them to a certain individual called Dapo Balogun, who was a man I knew.
“After passing the night in a cell, the policemen took me round Lagos the following day to find Balogun. I was given no access to my friends or family to know my whereabouts. Later that day they used my phone to call one of my friends, Yemi, who was picked up in the same manner.”

Our correspondent learnt that Balogun was later arrested by the operatives on that day, after raiding his residence.
Karibi-Whyte said after the police had apprehended the suspect, they still detained him and transferred him to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Awka, Anambra State.
He said,

“At about 3am on the third day, Dapo Balogun, six of his friends, Yemi, my driver and I were put into vehicles and taken to Awka, Anambra State.
“On April 30, we arrived in Awka, and thereafter, I was asked by the police team leader how much I was willing to pay to be released. I told him I had no money. He said if I could pay N500,000, he would let me go. He allowed me to reach my family on the telephone and they sent the money to the police.”

Our correspondent learnt that the family paid into an Ecobank account number 0672010144.

“The account number belonged to one Okafor Ikechukwu. I was asked to sign a bail bond after the payment and I was released. My car, however, remained detained at the police command.
“My three-day abduction has caused severe shock and distress to my family and friends. The policemen subjected me to torture. Please, kindly investigate this matter and bring the culprits to book,” Karibi-Whyte added.

The Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Uche Eze, said Karibi-Whyte should make a formal report to the state Commissioner of Police.
He said,

“I have not heard of any report of such. If the complainant is very sure of what he is saying, let him write a petition to the Commissioner of Police or to the Police Public Relations’ office. I promise you that we will look into it.”
