Toni Payne lately took to social media to show love to her ex-husband 9ice, the singer has finally addressed those cheating rumours in a statement posted on his social media accounts and website. This comes 6 years after she was dragged, insulted for allegedly cheating on him.He has even acknowledged the song "Once beaten twice shy" wasn't about her..He wrote It has come to my attention that sometime this week some people were up to some mischief harassing Toni Payne regarding an evil FALSE rumor that was spread years ago. I would like to use this opportunity to state categorically that the song Once Bitten Twice shy was not and can never be about Toni Payne. I have NEVER accused her or told anybody that she cheated on me because she DID NOT. It did not happen and it was never an issue. Let me be very clear. Toni Payne NEVER cheated on me. Some marriages do not work for different reasons. Unfortunately I released my album at a very delicate time in our relationship and a song from the album was taken the wrong way and things were blown out of proportion due to my silence. I have apologized to her in person and she has accepted my apology. I have moved on to a fresh start and she has moved on too. I would appreciate if the general public do the same. “I would appreciate if people refrain from insulting or harassing her for something she is not guilty of” Once again, the song Once Bitten Twice Shy was NEVER about TONI PAYNE. It was just a song. I wish I had come out sooner but I cannot change the past, I can only try and make amends for the future. It is a new dawn for us all and I hope this closes the topic permanently. If it does not, maybe it is best I release a song clarifying this issue for the 100th time because what started all this was a song and all my effort to clear that air via press interviews have been futile. This is why I am coming here to say it personally. I assure you, I will stop at nothing to make sure this evil rumor is put to sleep once and for all. Again It was never my intention to cause her pain. My apologies to everyone who was affected. God Bless! www.sholido.com/2016/01/22/must-read-9ice-finally-admits-toni-payne-never-cheated-on-me/

Following the Federal government's judgment to probe Aero Contractors Nigeria Ltd for making passengers disembark from a trip using a ladder, the airline on Monday, shedmore light on the occurrence at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport, Bauchi State, on Saturday. Talking to newsmen in Lagos, Captain Russell Foon, acting Managing Director, Aero Contractors, described that, the plane was chartered by a couple of young people, together with a groom from Abuja, to attend a marriage ceremony in Bauchi on December 19.He claimed that, the airline contacted the airport manager, who verified availability of the airstairs along with the cost of the services. Upon landing and also after awaiting over 10 minutes, the airport management informed the Captain that the airstairs had just broken down and the fire services were trying to sort it out. Foon stated: "After waiting for another five to seven minutes, the passengers became furious as they were getting very late for the wedding ceremony. "The captain went to the cabin and explained to them that he might have to take them back to Abuja as they cannot disembark due to lack of stairs. "The people insisted that he cannot keep them on board the aircraft and he considered that their anger was becoming potentially threatening for the five-man crew to take them back to Abuja." Foon state the captain, against his wish, thereafter permitted them to disembark, using the ladder provided by the fire service in order to reduce what he thought was a volatile situation. He noted that the airstairs was later repaired and was used to board the 104 passengers of the said aircraft on the return journey to Abuja. "Consequently, an investigation into the event has been called, the results of which could lead to changes in our operational procedures. "Following the findings of this investigation, it will become a part of our training and Crew Resource Management (CRM) re-currency training exercises. "The decision to perform any further charters into Bauchi is suspended on B737 equipment but we can consider charters into Bauchi on Q400 or Dash 8-300 aircraft. "Any future charters to destinations that are areas of scheduled commercial flight operations must have at least one permanent Ground Handling company on ground before we will consider," he said. http://sholido.com/2015/12/21/exactly-passengers-disembarked-wih-ladder-bauchi-airport-aero-contractors/

Many traders who spoke with Vanguard pleaded with Governor Abiola Ajimobi to come to their aid as they had lost their hard-earned livelihood to the fire incident. The Caretaker Chairman of Ibadan North West Local Government Area, Mr. Wasiu Olatunbosun, said over N500 million worth of property was lost in the incident. Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, has revealed on supporting President Muhammadu Buhari during the electioneering, adding that Nigeria would not have survived 4 more years of former President Goodluck Jonathan’s rule. The Nobel laureate derived his view known in a programme titled, ‘Channels Book Club’ on Channels Television on Tuesday. He statedook Club’ on Channels Television on Tuesday. He said “We were left with two credible contestants in terms of catchment area for the nation. We had reached, in my view, the bottom. I became convinced that if this country underwent four more years under President Jonathan, the country would run aground completely. I looked at the record and said this cannot go on, this has to stop. “Then I looked at this man who had contested elections three times before and said he would not contest anymore and then decided to throw his hat in the ring. I talked to people and I said do you know what you’re doing? “And after weighing all the options, I said let’s try a new one. And since in electoral terms, he was the one, I guardedly, with reservations, announced that no, not a continuation under Jonathan. “And so very reluctantly, I want this on record, because I made it quite clear, I weighed the two of them and I said this nation stands a better chance under Buhari. And what has been coming out now? Look at all that has been coming out? Look at the figures (loot) which virtually hammer one into the ground just the sheer enormity of the robbery of this nation that is getting exposed progressively. It shows that we did not make a bad choice.” When asked if he was completely satisfied with Buhari’s six months in office, Soyinka said, “Not totally but Buhari has proven that there is such a thing as a born again democrat.” Asked his opinion of the recent pro-Biafran agitations, Soyinka said t “So, let us sit down, let us talk once again about restructuring the nation in a way that no one will want to leave. The agitations, for me, are not surprising. It was expected that it would happen sooner or later. “So, I am referring to a genuine and authentic National Conference. Not like the one that former President Olusegun Obasanjo called which was meant to try to perpetuate himself in office. “The one under Jonathan was extensive; it covered lots and lots of ground. It proposed some far-reaching changes, not far-reaching for me, but far-reaching. It is about time we went back to efforts like that; genuine ones like that.” http://sholido.com/2015/12/09/nigeria-wouldnt-have-survived-4-more-years-under-jonathan-soyinka/ |
The Lagos state official was speaking against the backdrop of the suspension of Russia from world athletics following the indictment of Russian athletes over doping. The Lagos State Director of Sports, Deji Tinubu, says the state government is planning to equip a medical department that will engage in detecting athletes involved with performance-enhancing drugs. Tinubu told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Tuesday that it was important to reduce to the barest minimum, the use of such drugs by athletes. The Lagos state official was speaking against the backdrop of the suspension of Russia from world athletics by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) following the indictment of Russian officials and athletes over doping allegations. “We have a medical department, which we hope in time, will graduate to some form of establishment that can detect athletes involved in the use of illegal drugs. “I cannot put a date to it, but in time, (we will have that.) “But in between, what they will do is to continue to monitor and continue to educate (the athletes). “The athletes may get caught in the end and everything they have done all their lives just goes to rubbish. “If they want to do that, then it is all up to them. “So, obviously we have athletes that the relevant departments have continued to counsel. “It is not a secret that it is wrong, that it is illegal and it is also not a secret that at one point in time athletes will be caught. “It is either they harm yourself or they will be caught by the authorities – one of the two. Say `NO’ to drugs, and they can live without drugs.” Tinubu also said that the state government would roll out its sports programme for 2016 in the first week of January. “Hopefully, the first week of January in 2016, we are going to roll out our programmes; we are still working on that. “As we are rolling out programmes, we are also rolling out dates because what the state is trying to do is to create a sport calendar whereby you will know, in advance, what competition is coming up and where it will take place.’’ http://sholido.com/2015/12/08/in-lagos-govt-plans-medical-lab-for-testing-of-athletes/ |

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP, has rejected the accusation of political agenda by the immediate-past Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, saying that “the issue of how over $5 billion recovered Abacha funds were spent under her watch deserves serious attention”. In a statement on Sunday by SERAP executive director, Adetokunbo Mumuni, the organisation said that, “By making unfounded allegations against SERAP,Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala has provided little more than an unhelpful distraction, which can only serve to undermine genuine efforts to promote transparency and accountability in Nigeria, the country that she claims to love so dearly”. Last week, Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala described the call by SERAP for her probe over the spending of the Abacha loot as a politically-sponsored action; that SERAP is compromised; that SERAP is a tool for reprehensible, corrupt vested interests; and that the returned Abacha loot was properly appropriated and channelled into roads, electricity, education, water and health across all six geo-political zones of Nigeria. The response by the organisation reads in part: “As a public trust, SERAP has an important role to play in revealing the discrepancies between the World Bank documents and the clear lack of access of millions of Nigerians to quality education, adequate healthcare, clean water, safe roads and regular electricity supply during the period covered by the documents”. “If she truly loves Nigeria, Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala should have come out to say exactly how the over $5 billion of Abacha loot was spent under her watch. Trying to dodge responsibility for the spending of our commonwealth or attacking SERAP that is trying to get to the bottom of what happened to the funds is a betrayal of that love. Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala should not be immune from accountability for what happened to Abacha recovered loot just because she is no longer in government”. “If the aim of these allegations is to bully us into stopping our work to seek accountability on the spending of over $5 billion recovered Abacha loot, then it has failed, as SERAP will never back down in its pursuit of justice in the face of such attack”. “These new allegations echo those that Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala made against us in March to divert attention from SERAP freedom of information suit on the spending of N30 trillion by the former government of President Goodluck Jonathan. SERAP has fully responded to these allegations. SERAP’s credibility is exemplified by the fact of several awards it has received nationally and internationally including nomination for the UN civil society award in 2008; nomination for the Ford Foundation Jubilee Transparency Award for 2011, and the Wole Soyinka Anti-Corruption Defender Award SERAP received in 2014”. “As we continue to study the documents received from the World Bank, we have identified 11 questions that Nigerians would like Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala to answer as a matter of priority”. “First, the World Bank confirmed that of the 51 projects reviewed, 23 were described as “completed”, 26 were at various stages of completion, and 2 were described as “abandoned”. Nigerians would like Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala to show us evidence of the 23 projects allegedly completed, and whether the 26 projects where actually completed; and what became of the 2 abandoned projects”. “Second, the World Bank confirmed that 6 out of 8 health centres reviewed pertained to physical infrastructure but were not completed. Nigerians would like Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala to explain why these projects were not completed on time, and whether in fact they were completed at all; as well as location of completed projects”. “Nigerians would also like Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala to explain the letter she wrote to the Ambassador of Switzerland to Nigeria January 9, 2005 that of the 174 health centres built with Abacha funds, 138 were fully functional and that remaining 36 were expected to be commissioned in January 2005. Nigerians would appreciate it if Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala could identify and name all the health centres mentioned in her letter”. “Third, as regards power projects, the World Bank confirmed that payments by government to contractors could not be verified “because in most cases contact information for contractors was not available,” and that 10 of the 18 power projects pertained to physical electrical installations. Nigerians would like Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala to identify and name the 10 installations, and to provide contact details of the contractors that executed the projects”. “Fourth, the World Bank confirmed that most of the recovered funds were used to repay domestic borrowing. Nigerians would like Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala to explain how much exactly was involved as a part of 2004 annual budget execution in anticipation of the repatriation of the looted funds in 2004, as well as repayment terms of the funds and from which banks”. “Fifth, the World Bank confirmed that the government opened a special US dollar account for recovered funds with the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, to which various transfers of Abacha loot were made. The World Bank also confirmed that some $50 million was received before 2005 which was kept in the special account. Nigerians would like Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala to explain how much was left in the account by the time she left office in May”. “Sixth, the World Bank confirmed that the data on inflows of recovered funds are broadly identical but that there was one material discrepancy, which was unexplained. The Bank also said the information it received from the government ‘does not contain a reference to the transfer of $5.2 mn in August of 2006.’ Nigerians would like Mrs Okonjo-Iweala to explain the material discrepancy, and why the transfer of $5.2 mn was not disclosed to the Bank”. “Seventh, the World Bank confirmed that Abacha returned loot was used as source of 2005 budget deficit financing, and that the funds were directed to co-financing of capital expenditure and balancing the 2005 budget. Nigerians would like Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala to explain exactly the capital expenditure involved”. “Eighth, the World Bank confirmed that the Abacha funds were used to provide additional financing for the Universal Basic Education (UBE) program in the amount of NGN24.25 bn to support basic education throughout the country. This amount was fully disbursed and fully utilized. Nigerians would like Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala to identify the number and location of schools which benefited from these funds at the time”. “Ninth, the World Bank confirmed that there were problems with collecting project-related information because of under-developed reporting and accounting standards, and absence of properly set-up databases for sectoral project portfolios; and weak administrative capacity in the ministry of finance. Nigerians would like Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala to explain why this was the case under her watch”. “Tenth, the World Bank confirmed that 13 road projects were completed including 3 of the largest road and bridge projects in each geo-political zone. Also, the Bank regretted that it was not possible to interview many contractors in order to obtain independent confirmation of amounts spent on individual projects, and record their comments on project status. Nigerians would like Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala to explain exactly happened, and to identify unconfirmed individual projects, including the largest roads and bridges completed”. “Eleventh, the World Bank confirmed that no special arrangements were made for project selection and monitoring. According to the Bank, ‘Given the weakness of general budget reporting systems at the moment, this decision greatly undermined the opportunity for tracking the returned Abacha funds and analysis of their utilization’. Nigerians would like Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala to explain why this was the case under her watch”. http://sholido.com/2015/12/06/11-questions-okonjo-iweala-must-answer-on-5bn-abacha-loot-serap/ |

My prospective victims will have the mind of buying handset from me but unknowingly to them I would have changed the real handset to soap wrapped with cut to size carton put inside an envelope. Ghana has been ranked as the second most corrupt African nation behind South Africa which is the most corrupt of the entire continent. Nigeria follows closely behind Ghana making up the top three worst performing nations in the corruption index. For the first time, people reported business executives as highly corrupt. Business ranked as having the second highest levels of corruption in the region, just below the police. According to a report by Transparency International, about 71 percent of people living in Ghana say corruption has increased over the last twelve months. A new opinion poll showed that most governments across Africa are failing in their duty to stop the abuse of power, bribery and secret deals. According to a report put together by Transparency International and Afrobarometer, majority of the African governments are doing really badly in the fight against corruption. In the Africa Survey 2015 which forms part of the global corruption barometer, 43,143 respondents were spoken to across 28 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa between March 2014 and September 2015. They were asked their experiences and perceptions of corruption in their country. About 58 percent of Africans in the surveyed countries, say corruption has increased over the past 12 months. In 18 out of 28 countries surveyed a large majority of people said their government is doing badly at fighting the menace. Bribery was a key point in the survey, the debt to which bribery has eaten deep into the fabrics of the continent calls for concern. Of the six key public services that was asked about, people who come into contact with the courts and police are the most likely to have paid a bribe. According to the report, poor people across the continent, who use public services are twice as likely as rich people to have paid a bribe, and in urban areas they are even more likely to pay bribes. The survey showed that 22 percent of people that have come into contact with a public service in the past 12 months said they paid a bribe. Police regularly rate as highly corrupt, however, there was a strongly negative assessment of business executives. Business was followed by government officials, tax officials, judges and magistrates, members of parliament, local government councilors, office of the presidency, traditional leaders and religious leaders. These facts gave a new dimension to the issue of corruption in the continent, compared to previous surveys. Transparency International Chairman, José Ugaz, said: “Corruption creates and increases poverty and exclusion. While corrupt individuals with political power enjoy a lavish life, millions of Africans are deprived of their basic needs like food, health, education, housing, access to clean water and sanitation.” Ugaz urged governments and judges to stop corruption, eradicate impunity and implement Goal 16 of the Sustainable Development Goals to curb corruption. “We also call on the people to demand honesty and transparency, and mobilize against corruption. It is time to say enough and unmask the corrupt,” chairman added. Despite all disappointing findings, there were still bright spots across the continent and those were in Botswana, Burkina Faso, Lesotho and Senegal. The survey disclosed that citizens in these countries were some of the most positive in the region regarding the issues of corrupt practices in their various nations. http://sholido.com/2015/12/02/the-most-corrupt-country-in-africa/
