A couple who met in secondary school got married over the weekend, more than a decade after they first met, and theirs seem to be an interesting and unique love story.

The groom, Udeh Vincent Chukwunonso, revealed that he met his bride in secondary school when her elder sister handed her over to him, asking him to be her school father and watch over her. He fulfilled the promise he made to watch over his school daughter until he graduated.

Nigerian superstar singer, Davido in an interview with The Breakfast Club revealed how his dad sent 50 police officers to arrest him at his first show.

According to the singer, his father was extremely angry with him for leaving school to do music, which prompted the arrest of his girlfriend, manager and also his promoter at the show.

He evaded the arrest by scaling the fence. His father threatened to send all of them to jail if he doesn’t show up at the police station. They were eventually released when he went to the police station as his father had instructed him to do.

Edo State Govt evacuate 15 children from the Orphanage where Elo Ogidi was taken (Photos)

The Edo State government has evacuated 15 children from the God’s Own Orphanage, in Benin, pending the conclusion of an on-going investigation into the case of an Elo Ogidi, who was allegedly stolen from the Christ Embassy Church, Oregun, Lagos and found at the orphanage in Benin.

Four-year-old Ogidi was stolen during a church service in July and found last Friday, at the God’s Own Orphanage, when policemen raided the facility after a tip-off.
The police have arrested the Proprietress of the Orphanage Home, Kehinde Blessing Imarhiagbe, for complicity in the alleged theft of Elo Ogidi.

Speaking with journalists on Friday, after sealing off the home, located at 25 Davies Street, off 2nd Dr. Garrick Layout, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Magdalene Ohenhen, said the management of the home did not follow due process in admitting Elo into the facility.
She said during the operation, the police also discovered that the orphanage had three other children who were not documented with the ministry as required by law.

Ohenhen maintained that there were rules and regulations guiding the operations of orphanages in the state, but that the management did not abide by them.
“The procedure is that before you accept a child into an orphanage in the state, the operator of the home must inform the state government through the state’s Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.

Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, the General Overseer, Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, has declared that he is not ready to die anytime soon, not even in the next five years.

He made this interesting revelation a few days ago during the church’s ministers’ conference held at the Redemption Camp, Mowe, Ogun State.

Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State has opened up on his hustle while outside of the country studying as a young man and according to him, he washed dead bodies to pay his tuition fees.

Ajimobi said this yesterday at a South-West Youths Regional Summit in Osogbo, Daily Post reports.

Daddy Showkey Beats Man For Disrespecting Him And Late Ras Kimono’s cousin (Video)

Late Ras Kimono was laid to rest over the weekend at his hometown in Asaba. Many veteran artists attended the event to pay their last respect to the Reggae King.

At one of the events organized, where artistes were requested to perform, Daddy Showkey was requested to manage the stage. However, a video emerged showing a braw between him and a man later identified to be an artiste associate.

In the video, Daddy Showkey was really upset as he threw the man off the stage. GoldMyneTv spoke with Daddy Showkey and he gave his account of what transpired.

Daddy Showkey said he was pleaded with to manage the stage and ensure those not needed don’t crowd the stage but the particular man in question came on the stage with an artiste. The stage was heavily occupied and so he politely requested that the man leaves the stage but he grew aggressive and locked his shirt.

In the process, the man pushed Late Ras Kimono’s cousin who fell. Daddy Showkey said at that moment, he couldn’t accept that disgrace and threw the man off the stage. His decision to lock his shirt means he was ready to fight him and so he approached him to defend himself.

Daddy Showkey said most times, people forget that celebrities are human as well with feelings and emotions. He further said those that know him know he rarely gets upset as he loves to play a lot unless when pushed to the wall

Some people gathered and appealed to him for peace so he left the scene immediately. Daddy Showkey revealed that the man later came to apologize in the evening.

I like travelling but I never get to travel frequently because I tend to procrastinate a lot.

Where did you visit recently?

I visited UAE, a country in the Middle East in February this year.

What are some of the things you can remember about UAE?

I can remember everything because it was memorable. The country is quite unique because there are skyscrapers everywhere. Seeing the number of skyscrapers is everything because the beauty of a place is just what makes the country unique. I also learnt a few things about the country. I went to Abu Dhabi and Deira but and I spent a lot of time in Dubai. The tour guide took us around and told us historic things about the country and how it came about its wealth.

I got to know that tourism is one of the biggest sources of income in Dubai while in Abu Dhabi, it is crude oil. There was a beach we went to that we were told is artificial because it was once a deserted island.   It was exciting for me to see so many beautiful things in the UAE. I was shocked to see a barber’s in a skyscraper because, in Nigeria, they are usually located on the ground floor. They also have very strict rules in the country like you should not litter the road and visitors cannot become citizens of the country. Also, nobody is allowed to own a property for life because, after 100 years, the government would take it from you; foreigners cannot live in the country if they are above 65 years old. Education is free at all levels except for foreigners.

Would you like to go back there?

Yes. With all the beautiful memories and fun that I had, who wouldn’t want to go back? What really impressed me about the country is that it took just a few years to become what it is now.

Did you enjoy their food?

For the first few days, I suffered because I had not discovered where African food was being sold. I tried some of their food but I didn’t like them because I am very selective when it comes to food. Even with our Nigerian foods, I just have a few favourite dishes so imagine me having to eat their food. It was a terrible experience. Some of their food smells funny and I don’t know what they put in it. A friend of mine who had visited the country before then told me where I could get African food.

“I Pay My Wife Upfront Before She Allows Me To Have Sex With Her” – Husband Tells Court

A 35-year-old man, Mr. Yinka Alabi, has pleaded before an Idi-Ogungun Customary Court, Agodi, Ibadan, Oyo State, not to dissolve his marriage despite his wife admitting to being raped by another man.

Responding to a divorce suit filed by his wife, Funmilola, Alabi told the court that the woman claimed to have been raped in her office, but that he still loved her.

Yinka said, “My wife’s adulterous ways are terrible. She was in the habit of receiving her boyfriends’ calls in my presence, but my ill-health condition makes me accept all her shortcomings.



”My lord, I urinate through the use of a catheter and my wife knows what am passing through. I paid her upfront before allowing me to have sex with her, but I am not bothered because I love her and do not agree with the dissolution of our 10-year-old marriage.”

The Ondo State High Court in Akure on Thursday sentenced seven members of an armed robbery gang to death by hanging for killing a US-based businessman, Banji Adafin.
The seven robbers are to die by hanging after the court found them culpable for Adafin’s death.
Adafin was killed by the seven men on July 4, 2017, shortly after returning to Nigeria from the United States for vacation.
He was murdered at his Number 15 Temidire Street, Muyiwa Oni Avenue on Akure/Owo Road residence in cold blood in the presence of his wife, Abimbola.
The seven convicted persons are Blessing Ogunlade, John Omoniyi, Sodiq Babatunde, Akeem Adedayo, Oso John Omoniyi, Yomi Balogun, and Sodiq Babatunde.
These culprits were found guilty of armed robbery, conspiracy to commit murder and illegal possession of firearms.
The court held that the offence of the seven culprits ran contrary to the robbery and Firearms Act, laws of the Federation (2004) and the Criminal Code, laws of Ondo state (2006).
The court also sentenced Damilola Samuel, best known as ‘Mama’, to one year in prison for aiding in her house incriminating materials.
Miss Damilola, the girlfriend of one of the culprits, Blessing Ogunlade, was convicted for keeping two Samsung Plasma Television sets, a Samsung Phone, a Techno Phone and electric pressing iron, which were all stolen from Adafin’s residence.
Olajiri Fadipe, a prosecutor and Department of State Services (DSS) official in charge of the murder case, said six of the culprits were actively involved in the robbery operation.

Fadipe noted that the seventh culprit only supplied firearms with no registered licence to do such.
Justice Samuel Bola, the trial Judge, held that the prosecuting counsel and DSS officials had proven the case beyond all reasonable doubt.

Bola, who read the Judgement for over four hours, concluded that the seven-man gang used a gun to kill the deceased after robbing him of his valuables.

Grace Olowoporokun, a prosecuting counsel who stood in for the State Attorney-General, Mr Adekola Olawoye, added that the murder case shows that the Judiciary is open to real justice.

In their reactions, defence counsel to the convicts, Abdulrahman Yusuf and Samuel Aiyesa, said they would appeal the judgement after a deep review.
Earlier in the court, Abimbola Adafin, wife of the deceased, had explained how the seven robbers invaded their residence in the dead of the night.

An Igbosere Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos Thursday, sentenced a self-proclaimed pastor, Abel Adewale Olukayode, to four years and six months imprisonment for stealing N984,450 from Wema Bank Plc, according to The Nation.

Chief Magistrate A. T. Omoyele convicted Olukayode, 58, on a three-count charge of stealing. According to the report, the magistrate found that he transferred the sum in tranches of N22,550, N701,900 and N260,000 through WEMA Bank’s mobile application to his First Bank and Guarantee Trust Bank (GTB) accounts.

She sentenced him to six months imprisonment on count one and two years each on counts two and three without an option of fine.
All sentences will run concurrently, meaning Olukayode, who claimed to be a clergyman with the Apostolic Church, will spend only two years in jail.

In the course of the trial, prosecuting Sergeant Cyriacus Osuji said the convict, of 26, Sadiku Ayinla Street, Odo-Kekere in Ikorodu, committed the offence between March 5 at about 4 pm and March 6, at about 7 am, in 2012, with the aid of his mobile phone.

He said: “The defendant, with the aid of his mobile phone with sim number 08034456771, stole N22, 550 through his Wema Bank account, a property of WEMA Bank Plc.

“At the same time and place with the aid of his mobile banking application, he transferred N701,900 from WEMA Bank to his GTB Bank account and N260,000 to his First Bank account, a property of WEMA Bank Plc”.

The gorgeous Yoruba bride said she and her husband spoke to the coordinators (Alagas) ahead of the wedding and asked that they do not ask her to kneel for her husband. The wedding day came and it was the way the bride and groom wanted it. There was no mention of submission and she didn’t have to kneel.

She said her sister also took a stand at her own wedding which took place earlier this week.

She wrote;
“Speaking of submission, during my Yoruba engagement, my husband and I told the Alagas to not use that word or ask me to kneel for him. Everyone told me it wouldn’t be possible because of culture. But guess whose knees didn’t touch the ground?”

Barely a month after a popular trader in Sapele, Delta State, was said to have collapsed in a Pentecostal church and died, another woman, Mrs Roona Ayomanor, the wife of former Community Liaison Officer an oil company, Mr. Churchill Ayomanor, yesterday, gave up the ghost after she slumped in the same Church.

According to a source, who claimed to be in the church when the accident happened, “Mrs Ayomanor was one of the early arrivals in church and she was full of life and had a smile for everyone. The service was on when she suddenly slumped.”

Mrs Ayomanor was said to have been rushed to a private clinic in town, where she gave up the ghost before medical attention could reach her.

Shocked at the news of his wife’s death, the husband was said to have slumped too “and has been admitted at a private clinic in the Gana axis of the town” another source at the church, who also begged not to be named, told our source.

The wife of the Seventh Day Adventist District pastor, mother-in-law and three children were Sunday, burnt to death in a fire outbreak at their residence at Dansoman, Accra, Ghana.

The incident happened between 5 and 6 am. Pastor Ato Kessie was not in the house at the time the incident occurred.


The tragic incident happened at Dansoman, a suburb of Accra, Ghana on Sunday morning.



The deceased including a pastor’s wife, three children and mother-in-law were burnt to ashes when fire gutted their storey building. Pastor Ato Kessie, the Dansoman District pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) church was not in the house at the time the incident happened.

An eyewitness who spoke to Adom TV’s Rita Abrefi said, the fire broke out around 5 am in the six-bedroom storey building near the Wesley Grammar school in Dansoman.



According to him, the victims were trapped by the security burglar proof at the entrance of the room and could not run out of the house.

The eyewitness said efforts to mobilise some residents to help free the deceased were unsuccessful.
