Music/Radio / Would A Rock Concert Pull A Crowd In Nigeria? by initiator(m): 12:04pm On Jul 16, 2007
What's a rock concert without a vibing crow responding to guitars, whether hard or soft?

Was wondering if rock artistes coming to naija would be a profitable venture. Which kinda artists d'y'all think would attract that crowd?

Music/Radio / Re: Rock Music Is Satanic? by initiator(m): 11:42am On Jul 16, 2007
On spot.

Music is a neutral medium that can be converted to any end. You can as well label rap music demonic cos it potrays nudees, vanity (bling bling), violence, drugs and crime.

Rock is intimate wen soft, expressive wen hard, but always always sincere in its assesment of reality.

But always remember, coldplay's the best band eva! Even timberland agrees.
Music/Radio / Re: Is It Being Fake To Listen To Rock? by initiator(m): 11:30am On Jul 16, 2007
@ familyman, u talking bullcrap. So jay-z's collabo with linkin park & kanye west's collabo with chris martin are all part of the red neck agenda abi?

Rubbish!!

Life's too short to be stuck to a single genre of music. If u love rock then u love rock. No apologies. And i think the best rock band is coldplay. Love dat band to death.

Culture / Re: Why Do Nigerian Dudes Walk Around Holding Hands? by initiator(m): 1:32am On Jul 14, 2007
Well chiogo ive actually seen some men in nig holding hands (some young dudes) but those instances are so rare and insignificant that its passd unnoticed. It was the same hero who said a nig girl called em akata (which i doubt 100%) and he used that singular instance to say nigs xpressed discrimination 2ward him.

To most nigs gay is unknown. I got 2 know about it in da american media so the poster only interpreted innocent gestures according to his warped cultural environment. Quite understandable.

While growing up in nig ive shared the same bed with a lot of guys without the least gay xperience so heck!
Culture / Re: Disconnected From The Mother Land by initiator(m): 1:13am On Jul 14, 2007
Wow its night here and i feel like going to bed but this article jolts me into a response.

Am really really happy u saw through the media-created stereotype of africans as brutes and animal hunters.

Pity most caucasians even understand the continent more than afro-americans.
Culture / Re: Why Do Nigerian Dudes Walk Around Holding Hands? by initiator(m): 11:33pm On Jul 13, 2007
This thread is very very very annoying *takes a deep breadth*

Hero would've asked explanation b4 branding unsuspecting gestures as gay. I didnt think jews were gay when i saw michael douglas kissing his dad on the lips. I didnt think arabs were gay when i saw them pecking themselves.

Yes i seen some naija guys holding themselves or dancing together especially outside the urban centres. Would i do so? Perhaps not, but i'v been infected by the american media doctrine of gay mannerism.

But seriously we gotto protect the simple folk from a dangerous gay consciousnes that would awaken such thoughts the more than supress it.

Politics / Re: Moore Lashes Out At CNN by initiator(m): 12:00am On Jul 11, 2007
I think cnn is biased in her reporting about africa but moore is not the least credible. He's a left-wing brigand - not after his fahrenhite 9/11 spin.
Music/Radio / Re: South Africans Rap Better by initiator(m): 11:25pm On Jul 10, 2007
This is no misplaced nationalism but naija has more rappers (wack and authentic) than SA and so more dope rappers. That proverb is good but dont think he's got a detailed album like mode9's pentium x. Zola is more like a flash in the pan 4 now, only time would confirm.
Programming / A Program To Monitor And Restrict Network Printing? by initiator(m): 10:04pm On Jul 10, 2007
I have this project i want to implement for this coy and am stuck.

I need a software/application that does the following:
1. Record any material printed on the network, a sort of archiving thing so that staff members cannot use the company's ink for private practice and every day the administrator can view the printed files from who's system.

2. Possibly restrict the amount of prints on a network.

If there's someone who can build such an application, or tell me where to buy it or how it can be done, plz contact asap. thanx
Politics / Re: Two Lies As Biafra Turns 40 9/7/2007 by initiator(m): 8:55pm On Jul 10, 2007
@ Afam, good one. For once i agree with u. However, the war was avoidable, but we can only say that in retrospect.

@ seun the source was in the article - The Nation. C'mon u get too harsh for an administrator. Sure if u had ur way u'd be flogging members.
Politics / Re: Two Lies As Biafra Turns 40 9/7/2007 by initiator(m): 6:16pm On Jul 10, 2007
The story of the war is more complex than the writer presented. Anybody that would tie the biafran war to ojukwu's ego is guilty of reductionism, and anybody who rules out ojukwu's ambition from the war is a tad too naive. The igbos needed an ojukwu as much as ojukwu needed the igbos. But ojukwu's quest was bound to fail. It's the nature of such stories. As scot fitzgerald said, "show me a hero and i would write you a tragedy."
Politics / Re: Do You Know? by initiator(m): 5:26pm On Jul 10, 2007
Do you know that for any reply you post on the internet, $1 goes to obj because obj owns the internet.
Politics / Re: 42days After, Who Is Responsible? by initiator(m): 5:19pm On Jul 10, 2007
A system would remain a system if no human will moves it to action. There are multiple theories on why yaradua's been lethargic.

1. He wants to give the country a fresh break from obj's rash past.

2. He wants to catch them (old govs) slowly.

3. A set of legal hurdles put by the past govs like the recent court pronouncement in favour of fayose.

4. Yaradua just lacks the balls to deal with the corrupt lots including IBB.

Well SMC its a pity threads like this dont generate much interest on tribalist-infested nairaland.

You'd have titled the thread 'i hate all igbos/yorubas' and boy would this place be flooded?

Pity

And rather than african leaders discussing how to flush out old cargoes like mugabe, they spent precious time discussing a United States of Africa.
Although am all 4 the united idea at the right time, we cant be united with bozos like the one in zimgabe.

Thanks there's a real ababoy that behaves like a human being, not the A.B.A version who is a chronic slowpoke.
