There's something I find annoying about the way some Nigerians go about supporting their reps on the strap line, the BB site and Facebook. They tend to insinuate - somewhat brazenly - that the money should go to Vina and Karen. This is simply taking it too far. How would anybody believe that $400k should go to one country even if our reps deserve it. This confirms my recent theory that we nurse a superiority complex over other African countries hence they hatred we bear. We need to support other housemates so that their countries would support us in return! |
Karen turns the show on its head. Watching the eviction show yesterday was really gripping, great television moment there. However I feel Sharon O should go though I hate to see her pretty face leave. If Weza or Alex goes the situation would play all too well into Luclay's hand as he would feel the viewers are right behind him and against his contrived enemies. There is need for the constant tension between Luclay, Weza and now Alex - though the drama by Miss P and Alex is now looking lame. Of all the nominated housemates, the depature of Sharon O is less likely to affect any equation. |
Now I have to speak, Y'all should do what you can to protect my girl Karen. I just cannot get enough of her as she puts me in stitches even by just merely looking at her face. The show is insanely boring save for her explosive antics. |
If Boko Haram decries education or westernisation then why should they be using bombs made from western/educational knowledge? They should be fighting with sticks and straws. This group is the most brainless sect ever. Absolute rubbish. |
I guess if Fashola's mother begs him for money on the street and he gives her, he would go to jail for 2 years? This is the most wrong-headed policy I can ever imagine. Every citizen has a freedom of expression as enshrined in the Nigerian constitution. A policy against street trading should not be extended to the right of any citizen to express sympathy. But Fashola (a SAN) should know better. |
Karen is such a bombshell, but truth be told, I watch the show because of her. |
I am willing to sell my Shawarma/burger/hotdog outlet resident in Ajah area of Lagos due to relocation plans. It is mobile and on wheels with roaster, four-burner machine, tables and sizeable stock. Interested buyers can contact me on chidido@yahoo.com or 08083824629 |
Good day, I have a shawarma/hot-dog/burger outlet in ajah part of Lagos and due to my relocation plans, i intend to sell it. The outlet is glassed on both sides with a dedicated caterer as staff. There is an electric and gas-powered roaster as well as a four-burner shawarmer machine, cylinder, stainless table, extension boxes and others including bread stock. It is located in a car-wash/restaurant and bar on one of the double-carriage lanes in ajah and there is a support kitchen where stock can be stored. The asking price for the outlet is N700,000. Interested buyers can reach me on chidido@yahoo.com or 08083824629 |

One thing i know for sure is that the Catholic church has survived worse scandals, even attacks from more "ebullient" atheists. I may not pride myself as an exemplary catholic these days but during the last holy week, I was amazed at the outpouring of the faithful who trooped to seek God during the holy week. I thought to myself, that irrespective of the media-hyped scandal, the church continues to be an imperfect body of 1 billion faithfuls seeking perfection in the body of Christ. There may be holy popes, there may be political popes, there are different kinds, but the work of the holy spirit remains with the church as it has for over a thousand years. If you read the history of the catholic faith, trust me, you will find worse scandals and if God is not with the church, the church would have crumbled ever since. On this particular scandal, the pope is in no way culpable as they were not his personal offenses. He has urged the priests to "submit to justice but never despair". The secular media would hardly understand the pastoral nature of the papacy. Child molestation did not start in the church. It's in all aspects of society so condemning that bestiality should not be mixed with attacking the church. |
Nice attempt but its pretty not-believable to me. Would like to watch the whole thing though. |
Does this look like another Chimamanda? Who has read the book? http://ipledge2nigeria.com/blogs/31/192 |
They want the incapacitated president to stay on while the vibrant minister resigns. It is not yet time for objective politics in Nigeria. If I were her, i'd leave. The fight ain't worth it. Maybe in 20years time would principled politics be enthroned in Nigeria - that is if we are still one country then sef. |
Advocates of such thinking only bring new meaning to the word, RETARDATION. |
There have been too many carnivals in the country, I must say. It is becoming a fad. Calabar has set the pace for street carnivals. Lagos should just carve a niche - beach carnivals for instance. |
WHAT RUBBISH |
How can you run an automobile plant on solar? This project seems like one of them elephants. |
Those charges are just sensless, it's a no-brainer even arguing. |
Am waiting for a date and location o |
Wow! Guess am the last. To Texmex prayer, AMEN To LC's poetry, fine lines bruv To the accident news, hopegully the memory of $200k would blurt out the wounds Let's just forget the SADC beef and Nkennarism abeg and goodness see as girls on NL are now fighting over Gtay, lol, next year i'd turn into full-time BB reporter walahi Well it's a wrap peope! |
I must give it to members of this thread - this has been the most civil thread i've visited on NL. Gtay, naijagal, soloqy, lindabon have been the kind of people you'd like to hang around, humour and stuff. and even though i watched like 40% of the show, i followed every line here. una try |
Itai crying? the dude must be hanging around Nkenna too much these days. Drama is infectious. |
I must admit, lindabon is a natural - a natural comedian at that. Her posts just gets me reeling. Y'all keep it coming. lol |
I didn't watch the match because i'm tired of Nigeria's myopic short-term gains in U-17 championships. After we cheat in U 17, we just evaporate in U 20 and become useless at the senior level. It doesn't make any sense at all. |
@soloqy, Really i think your position on Kevin is getting consistently hard. I have been following this thread more than i watch the show (i watch more on weekends) and i always notice this dissonance between what i read here (on kevin) and what i watch. On the other hand, i see an unmistakable correlation between the nausea about nkenna and what i actually watch. I know some peeps here are making a point about patriotism and nationalism but if i was in Kevin's shoes i would do the same. There is need for one Nigerian to leave the show and as long as they stay there, they (Nig HMs) would continue to feel the pressure. Also i see nothing wrong with Kevin's relationship with Eliz from a strategic and romantic position. Their back-and-forth provides drama is a rapidly boring show while keeping the chic from another country gives him one country's vote as well! The only wahala is that the chap (kevin) could be too proud and excessive. But which of the HMs dey pure sef? |
I must give it to Nkenna - for all the disdain i have for that girl and how obnoxious she is, i must admit she has charisma and is able to navigate the Nigerians away from murky waters. See how she engineered the whole nominations. But as Gtay said, i'm in support of Kevin as a Nigerian but as a neutral viewer i would go for Itai (for his calculations and maturity) and Eddie (for his free spirit). |
I actually don't watch the show on a day-to-day basis but try to watch the eviction shows and vote but i must admit that following the comments on this thread is far more interesting than the actual show. You guys bring humour in trailer loads. That notwithstanding, Soloqy, i wonder wetin Kevin do you, it feels like you want to play the game for him. I must admit that in the few times i watched him he seemed really conscious of the camera but that said, the chap is entertaining sha. Well this week i sense it would be hard for him because of the anti-Nigerian/SADC sentiment. Hope the chap survives but, heck, it'll be hard. |
