natedensel:
I dated this girl one time, we broke up few months ago, and I was the one that called off the relationship, my reasons are we're only sexually compatible but not compatible in other ways and relationships isn't only about sex, aside the sex it's empty, it's like she's a total stranger because we don't communicate much, she doesn't have my kind of intellect, she's not dumb, she's intelligent in a different way, I love philosophy, science, space, aliens, tech, video games and the likes, and I can debate about it non stop, but this girl has no interest in such stuff, she's only interested in fashion, looking cool, making money and the likes, so whenever she visits we have nothing to talk about, we just stay in silence, I tried spicing it up with movies but she doesn't like my kind of movies either, I'd want us to watch marvel avengers and she would want us to watch one stupid Nigerian film and when I object she would pick offense that I am forcing my lifestyle on her. I don't talk much but she loves gossiping about her friends even though she's too insecure to let me meet her friends, for some reason she thought I'd fall for her friends or worse, cheat on her with them, but I find the whole cheating stuff exhausting, since we have nothing to talk about or enjoy together we always have sex whenever she comes around, we would just greet and it's straight to intimacy, I was enjoying it at first until it became generic, now here's my problem, I am addicted to the feeling of having sex with her, like we're sexually compatible but that's just it, aside the sex nothing, she will come around and we won't chill or have any conversation, just sex, and when we're done we sit in silence until she leaves, it's so boring and there's nothing to remedy that, am I the problem? Have you been in such relationship, what did you do?

You are the problem o. Cuz you fit no see any babe settle with as most loves what she loves.

All these while, I try not to comment on this issue because I am not Yoruba. To my Yoruba brothers, I am curious to know please.

Does your culture permit Obas to not respect a sitting governor or a president when on an official function organized by the state?

At first I thought that OBJ was doing it out of old age loss of sense. However, his recent interview gave context to the issue. He reiterated that the Obas are not respecting the governor which seems odd to me. Hence, he did what he did as a respect to the Governor and not necessarily himself.

So I ask again. Is the culture in a way that the Obas do not respect other forms of dignitaries such as a governor or a president or former president.

Hehehe

We respect our culture.

Omoluabis don't wake up their elders with sidekicks like they do in one region so that OSU's attitude is not acceptable by us.

A 20 years old boy who is an Oba is older than a 90 years old man. The 90yr old man has to respect that crown. It is the crown he is respecting and not the boy.

Does your culture permit Obas not to respect a sitting governor? I just need clarity on this.

The Refinery Engineers are in the best place to say the time and offer expert authoritative advice. I agree with the Presidential aide.

Only LP mob and their political leaders will see an expert on a subject, ignore the expert and ignore the expert advice then enter their car and drive to a mad person's place to seek advice, accept the advice and go ahead to implement the idea. A case in point was when Mr Peter Obi drove to meet a mad man and asked the mad man for advice on insecurity and he implemented the idea instead of asking security experts, till today, Anambra state is still plagued by serious insecurity.

Another case was where LP and same Mr Obi filed frivolous and obscenely nauseating, time-wasting baseless pleas that the PEPT threw out and fined them heavily yesterday. Check my signature for free stuffs!

You don't date your guy's sister without notifying your guy. Why is he your guy if he doesn't even know that you are screwing his sister. That's unethical.

Happy sunday y'all, so i have this issue bothering me that i need advice on.

So me and this my guy have known for some years now and i know him as someone who has a flaw for anything under skirts.

It didnt bother me all these while cause i am nt one to judge until recently when i found out from my girlfriend that he was codedly wooing my junior sister and they just started dating.

Now the problem is i dnt knw if i should warn my sister about him and try and put a stop to the relationship or just try and give him and her a chance.

Please advice

He went against the bro code by dating your sister. Confront him about it and tell him to back off. If he doesn't, I see no reason he should be called your friend. True friends don't run shits with family.

If he choose not to back off, confront your sister and let her know that you don't approve their relationship.

You are doing this to save your head. What if he impregnates her and denies the pregnancy? They will now say is he not your friend? Call it out now so it won't come back in future to haunt you.

Samfigo1:
Good day everyone!!!

This is very urgent everyone and I will try to be brief.
My marriage is in few weeks time and there have been troubles here and there. Pls, I will like to know what I am supposed to do. This my babe is from Kogi and we have decided to marry eachother, before we got the relationship got deep we were having marriage talks she gave me the impression that we will not be flamboyant which I was happy about, she even told me her father may not want reception and all.

Everything changed at some point, we started planning for registry, engagement and reception.
This is where the problem began, our plan is to have the court on Thursday, engagement and reception on Saturday.

My family and I are going to cater for court expenses, and also 70% expenses on clothings and shoes for my would be wife is from me. Now they are saying the groom's family will cater for everything during reception, we told them to do the estimate of the feeding alone and it is close to 300k, where the problem started was when we asked how much they are going to contribute inside, they do not plan to contribute inside. They said they will cater for engagement. There is no much thing in the engagement because we are going to use the same facilities for the reception for the engagement, the hall, the chairs, tables and so on.

I told them why do they want us alone to cater for reception? There is no much in the engagement to do. Note, we will be coming from Ondo state to Kaduna state, we do not have much people that will travel that much from our side to Kaduna, we only asked how much they are going to contribute inside that is where the problem started.

I told them if you want it that way, if you want us to cater only for the reception, the hall chairs and tables I have paid 50% of should be completed by them since we are going to use the same hall for the two events. The engagement list, I have not even bought 50% of the whole thing.

Pls, am I acting strange? Is it too much to demand? My union is at stake, pls I need pieces of advice on this

You are not acting strange. What you are doing is ideal. They can't have a dream on somebody else sweat

Obi did not threaten the country with anarchy if the PEPT does not support him. Obi did not choose to go to war with a country sorting out its own internal issues to avoid being kicked out of office. Obi did not restrict access to his academic records because he has something to hide. Obi did not imprison the CBN and EFCC heads for reasons best known to him.. I could go on and on!

Obi has done NONE of this. All he did was provide substantial evidence to plead his case in court just as he was advised. He even called on his supporters to shun anything like protests and allow him focus on litigation, yet this is the man you call desperate?

Jewessgratitud3:
Guys, marriage is not chere wereh. Be financially prepared when planning a wedding and stop making the woman feel bad at the end of the day like she caused your downfall.

You are the one who went for her hand in marriage so you should be very ready on all levels to go through with it and provide all that is required in the list and for the ceremony. This why I said some time ago that a guy earning 100k can not get married and many came for me. You will end up borrowing at one point or the other.

Why he's ignoring the lady in the new marriage now is what I don't get. Dem force am? Biko kwa. Make una dey hold enough before talking about marriage and wedding ceremony.

A lot of things in wedding preparation are overated and not worth it. Why buy a cow and rent a big hall? When someone else can have a wedding of 50 guest and it's awesome.

The guy is entitled to his reaction as we all react differently.

First of all, family have little or no say in white wedding because they won't be responsible for most things on that day. What he owes the family is her traditional wedding and traditional rites. If it is a traditional rite for him to buy a cow, then that's fine by me. But if the cow was to make the occasion blossom, why impose it on the poor guy? Women prepare for wedding and ignore the marriage. Her papa no send them now if they no de see food chop because of huge loan repayment. Women will never learn. It's not generic though. Some women are different. Even though they are few.

She should be patient with him. He will heal and be fine afterwards. That's his own may of reacting to all what he has been made.to undergo.

I kuku de ask questions before I shook head. Before I shook head now they come tell me to bring trailer load of yam.
Family / Re: Six Effective Ways You Can Cut Cost In These Hard Times by intruder15(m): 2:37pm On Aug 12, 2023
GideonOludayomi:

There is no gainsaying that the current economic situation in Nigeria has forced many individuals and families to think of ways to cut costs, save money and what to do to earn more. As we all know, inflation is on the rise but income is in coma. However, saving money doesn’t have to be a difficult task. Here are six effective ways you can adapt in these hard times.

1. Cook and Eat at Home
This is very essential because it is most certainly one of the compulsory daily engagements you must have. Eating out can be tempting and convenient, but it can also be very costly. Cooking and eating at home not only saves money but also provides an opportunity to eat healthier. Cooking at home allows you to control the ingredients and portions you consume.

2. Use Public Transportation and Plan your Movements
Sentiments set aside, owning and maintaining a car particularly at a time like this, can be very expensive, but using public transportation can save a lot of money. Public transportation, though it comes with so much hassles, is not only cost-effective but also good for the environment. Carpooling or cycling can also save money while providing a good exercise routine.
Another important thing you should do is to plan your movements. Basically, this is not about avoiding to go to some places but more about synergising your movements. You don't want to find yourself in a situation where instead of stopping at the market on your way from office, you had to get home and then return again to the market. That is not smart. This is the time to have a plan book where you can itemize your to-do list.

3. Buy Smartly
Purchasing groceries in bulk, comparing prices, and taking advantage of sales and discounts can result in significant savings.
Shopping at local markets instead of supermarkets can also save money on groceries. Make a grocery list and stick to it to prevent impulsive buying.
For instance, do you know that there are very cheap and more voluminous data subscriptions that can save you money? Data is life and no doubt, many of us now spend a chunk of our income on data subscriptions. A smart buy would be to go for the more voluminous data plans at cheaper rates.

4. Cancel Unnecessary Subscriptions
Subscriptions for streaming services, magazines or other monthly services can add up quickly and become a significant expense. Take a closer look at your subscriptions and cancel any that you don't use or need. You should consider sharing subscriptions with friends or family to split the cost.

5. Repair Instead of Replacing
When something breaks, it's often tempting to replace it with something new. However, repairing items instead of replacing them can save a lot of money in the long run. Learn basic repair skills or take broken items to a repair shop instead of immediately buying new ones.
Recently, I was able to overhaul all my old shoes simply by taking them to a competent shoemaker to remake them with new leathers. Guess what, it only cost to fix three shoes the same amount it would cost me to buy just a single shoe. This is a time to get creative.

6. Negotiate Bills and Contracts
Negotiating bills and contracts can result in significant savings. I know some of us could be so tender-hearted when it comes to haggling but hey, this is not a time to turn father Christmas. Always do an on-the-spot analysis of value derived from any product or service you are billed for and negotiate accordingly.
Don't be surprised, many traders and service providers just indiscriminately adjust prices on hearsays. And without any thorough analysis, they wrongly inflate prices against the actual value being given. The truth is this, they are business men whose goal is to make profit. You are the one that needs to be smart by negotiating every bill in fairness to the value you are getting.

By implementing these six ways to cut costs in hard times in Nigeria, individuals and families can further reduce expenses and improve their financial situation. It takes some effort and discipline but cutting costs is an effective way to save money during tough economic times.

Number 1 is wrong in most part of Lagos. It's cheaper to eat outside than cook at home. Even with the inflation, with 1k, you go chop belle full. With 3k you may not have cooked anything meaningful.

Cooking at home is only profitable to a large family e.g family of 3 upwards.

This life can be up and down, that is why nobody can tell what comes tomorrow.

I am an undergraduate. I am self-sponsored and run a small business in the school campus which generate revenue for myself.

The school authority issued a notice for us doing business in that location to vacate the place and on the 3rd of July, the place was taken over by the school.

This rendered me jobless and unproductive, bringing untold hardship to me as i am yet to find another location.

The hardship has make me to sometimes do things i wasnt doing when I was making my daily bread.

Earlier on, in order to save cost as I couldn't renew my rent, I asked a close friend to let me join him so we can split the rent. He accepted and i paid him my own part of the bargain.

When things was going well with me, most times i prepare meal with my own money without him contributing a kobo and he'll eat and I won't complain in any way. I buy most of the basic things we use like soap and detergent, pay electricity bill, water etc. This guy even share up to my shirts sometimes. On Tuesday, I had practical in school and I came back sweated and I used his detergent to wash my cloth, my roommate almost tore me apart for touching his detergent.

The salt we are using now, just because I didnt buy it and he bought it, I used few days ago to add to the yam I was cooking, he wanted to empty the whole pot on me. I used the gas he bought to prepare noodles, half way he came and off the gas, and asked me if i don't know how much is a kg of gas now.

This afternoon, I came back from school and was very empty. I mean very very hungry and no money to organize something for myself, neither anything else in the house. So because I was very hungry, I cut a small portion of the yellow rice he cooked to eat, unluckily for me, he came back and met me eating it. Could you believe the guy snatched the food from me and poured it back to the pot. He said he told me to stay aware from his things, except he gives me.

This is a guy i have been helpful to times without number.

This is the same guy that has been borrowing money from me and some without refunding.

The other time when his mother was under medical emergency and they needed money so urgently, I lent them my school fees and that money was never refunded complete.

I don't smoke but he smokes including Indian hemp. He was caught with it and taken by NDLEA but I contributed money to bail him without the parents knowing.

In all of these and more that the guy has benefitted from me, see the unkind treatment I'm getting from him just because the challenge I am facing today.

I'm now afraid to live in the same house with him, because he's totally behaving like an enemy, not a friend or roommate.

I'm still looking for a new spot but I feel unsafe staying in the same house with someone that behaves like this.

I'm afraid and helpless right now. I don't have money to buy food and gas right now and who is supposed to assist me at a time like this is helping.

Sorry for the long post and any mistakes spotted. I'm not with the right mental state.

This post made me remember a famous song which says 'when money de friends go de, when money no de friends go run'.

He is showing you his true nature. You just didn't see it all these while because you never lacked which didn't create an atmosphere to witness it.

This is part of life bro. Learn your lessons. Don't let experience like this to change you from being who you are.

Adjust your life outside the guy. Nobody owes you Anything. Including this roomie.

I have a girl that understands the kind of person I am and she introduce girls to me to fvck and we indulge in threesomes and orgies, would I ever change, it's very unlikely but I worry for my comrades out there that blindly padlock their cage and call it commitment and relationships. I could care less but it's overwhelming me due to the fact that many of the girls I sleep with are in serious relationships or "engaged".

You are the one with a problem. Hence don't get why you are shading the guys that stick to one babe. Will you be proud if your supposed fiancee tells you that her favorite sex style is party with 2 guys? Both pounding her at the same time?

Most people don't reveal their true sexual nature because of moral upbringing. Not necessarily because you fvck pass or your own high pass.

Responsibility reduces sexual drive. Be responsible for someone's upbringing and see the sex drive disappear in this Tinubu regime. How the prick wan stand when you remember say school fees go increase for September by at least times 2 the price?

I think this is a bad idea.

Government can increase the cost of tertiary education as they wish but primary and secondary school education must be as free and accessible as possible.

In this digital age, you can learn and become anything you want as long as you have a solid primary and secondary education.

In fact, one of the problems we have in this country is the overload we have in our tertiary institutions. Too many unworthy institutions, admissions and graduation just because everyone wants a certificate.

Many of our youths start their life afresh (or at least almost afresh) after wasting half a decade in a tertiary institution studying something they neither love nor value. Whereas, they could have pursued their passion in carpentry, metal works, mechanical repair, bricklaying etc.

Waste of people's time, efforts and resources. That's why we have many frustrated and clueless youths in our society.

Gbam. The same point I thought of.

I wish to ask this question to know if I am on the right path. I am a kind that believe parents should start teaching their children at age of 14 and above about the danger of having sex at a tender age.

Sometimes ago, I received the most brutal disgrace of my life. I have this neighbor that has two daughters. The eldest is 15 years old while the other one is just 12 years old.

So there was a day I was teaching them about the danger of having sex at all and of course at such tender age.

In the course of our conversation, their mother walked bye and she started yelling at me and raining all sort of insults on me. She was like, what sort of nonsense am I teaching her children, what kind of rubbish is that, my children are young and yet you are teaching them rubbish, for your info my children are young and they don't know anything about all the rubbish you have been saying, never and never in your life talked to my daughters in your life.

I was disgraced but was later rescued by my brother who instructed me to apologise to the woman.

Now, the question is, does enlightening our children who has attained the age of 13 and above about the danger of sex portends any danger. And when is the right age can one start teaching his/her children about the calamity of sex ?

Please, Matured responses.

Thank you in anticipation

Your question stated our children. Not other people's children. You are in no position to educate a child that is not urs on sex education. That's why you were rightly insulted.

Back to your question. I believe it's at your discretion and the pace at which your child is growing mentally. Some kids at 6 are brighter and asking sensitive questions than some at 12.
