I think this is a bad idea.

Government can increase the cost of tertiary education as they wish but primary and secondary school education must be as free and accessible as possible.

In this digital age, you can learn and become anything you want as long as you have a solid primary and secondary education.

In fact, one of the problems we have in this country is the overload we have in our tertiary institutions. Too many unworthy institutions, admissions and graduation just because everyone wants a certificate.

Many of our youths start their life afresh (or at least almost afresh) after wasting half a decade in a tertiary institution studying something they neither love nor value. Whereas, they could have pursued their passion in carpentry, metal works, mechanical repair, bricklaying etc.

Waste of people's time, efforts and resources. That's why we have many frustrated and clueless youths in our society.

Gbam. The same point I thought of.
Family / Re: When Is The Best Age To Give Sex Education To Your Child by intruder15(m): 9:45pm On Jul 15, 2023
DaBogu:
I wish to ask this question to know if I am on the right path. I am a kind that believe parents should start teaching their children at age of 14 and above about the danger of having sex at a tender age.

Sometimes ago, I received the most brutal disgrace of my life. I have this neighbor that has two daughters. The eldest is 15 years old while the other one is just 12 years old.

So there was a day I was teaching them about the danger of having sex at all and of course at such tender age.

In the course of our conversation, their mother walked bye and she started yelling at me and raining all sort of insults on me. She was like, what sort of nonsense am I teaching her children, what kind of rubbish is that, my children are young and yet you are teaching them rubbish, for your info my children are young and they don't know anything about all the rubbish you have been saying, never and never in your life talked to my daughters in your life.

I was disgraced but was later rescued by my brother who instructed me to apologise to the woman.

Now, the question is, does enlightening our children who has attained the age of 13 and above about the danger of sex portends any danger. And when is the right age can one start teaching his/her children about the calamity of sex ?

Please, Matured responses.

Thank you in anticipation

Your question stated our children. Not other people's children. You are in no position to educate a child that is not urs on sex education. That's why you were rightly insulted.

Back to your question. I believe it's at your discretion and the pace at which your child is growing mentally. Some kids at 6 are brighter and asking sensitive questions than some at 12.

Hello guys. Something bothers me. I need to ask

I started going to gym recently. Becaus I want to get bigger. Usually I think about having sex all the time and this has made me an object of extortion from jezebells who don’t genuinely want me, but for my money.

However, since I started lifting,my sex drive decrease rapidly. It’s insane. One of the girls just left 3hrs ago ,and to her surprise I wasn’t begging her for romance like I used to . While she was here my mind didn’t even think about sex whatsoever. I didn’t move close to her even. She messaged me on WhatsApp just now asking me if she offended me and my behavior is unusual. I know it’s becaus I didn’t beg her.

Note: she was also angry that she came all the way from Ojota to my place and I didn’t even act like I want her in my place. We both live in Lagos.

Is it normal for sex drive to wane like this?

Your sex drive did not reduce. Your attention was focused to something else other than sex. Which is your physic. You know that saying that one should get busy to prevent the mind from wallowing in sexual thoughts. That's what happened which is a good thing. Cuz now when that girl show again. Na she go rush you.

Good day everyone, your professional advice is highly needed.

I opened my company for about 7 months ago and I can save 1m-1.3m monthly after the cost of running business including payment of salaries. I currently have 11 well paid staff.

However: Japa syndrome has kept me in a state of dilemma to close down the company and Japa or stay back and keep thriving.

Another factor is the continues poor government policies which affect the cost of running the business.

NOTE: I'm a health care provider who can thrive in any English speaking country. Thanks as I await for your commitments.

Really ask yourself why you want to Jakpa. Be intentional about it. Because everybody is leaving is not an ideal reason. Are you married? Do you have kids? Are you dating someone you intend to marry? All these should be considered. Make the decision for yourself. Not because the crowd is doing it.

Since you can save 1m monthly, save enough to relocate completely. Not all these Masters program Jakpa approach. Better relocation to Canada.
Never you close down a source of income. It's not a smart decision. Rather, look for means to make the business still boom.

Let me dissect the issue to the best of my knowledge.

Mbaise pegs an outrageous figure to their marital rites. Then most times, refuse to marry each other. Do you know what that means?

They peg an outrageous rites for other tribes (other Igbos inclusive) to come and pay for. Who does that?

The list I am talking about will cost you millions at least and most are annoying. For instance 100 tubers of yam. No jokes.
Does the above make any sense to you? In the name of marital rights?

There is also a misconception of what I ordered vs what I got. Sometimes e no de tally. Their girls are mostly fair and fine.
But being loyal when their closest university (IMSU AKA Oringo spot) is a den of immoralities becomes questionable.

These are some points I have heard and witnessed over time. You can add yours.

Crime / Re: Kabir Bala 'OKWO' Shot Dead Hours After Kogi Govt Revoked His Pardon by intruder15(m): 11:15pm On Jun 22, 2023
Abiodunstephen:

Security forces gun down Kabir Bala hours after Kogi govt revoked his pardon
Suspected notorious gang leader, Kabir Bala alias (OKWO), has been killed by security forces hours after Kogi government revoked the pardon earlier granted to him.

Kogi Commissioner of Police, Akeem Yusuf, made this known while briefing newsmen in Lokoja on Thursday.

He said : “It would be recalled that the Kogi State Government in October, 2018 granted pardon in prerogative of mercy as part of rehabilitation to one notorious gang leader named KABIR BALA alias (OKWO) in Ejule, Ofu LGA.

However, the said Kabir Bala (allegedly) remained an unrepentant criminal with lots of atrocities traced to him which includes; dealing in illegal arms, Kidnappings and killings in the State.”

Several cases had been traced to him such as:
” 1. Burning alive of Mrs Salome Abu, a PDP woman Leader in Ofu LGA in her residence on 18th November, 2019 at Ochadamu

2. Killing of two (2) Igala youths; UMORU AREH and UNEKWU SULE on 20th April, 2022 at Ejule.

3. Killing of Five (5) Fulani Herders namely; Ibrahim, Haruna and Shuaibu along Alloma Road, Ofu LGA in April, 2022 and Muhammed and Dauda at Imoko in Ofu LGA on 3rd March, 2023
Other crimes committed by Kabir Bala and his gang are:
-.
i. Attack on troops of Nigerian Navy and dispossessed them of four (4) Rifles at Alloma village on 4 March, 2022. Though, the Firearms were later returned to the Navy following high-powered intervention.

ii.
Attack on Elisha Aya, Pastor and founder of Kingdom Faith Assembly Ejule on 18 March, 2022 who later paid N1 million naira to Bala as levy for establishing a Church.

iii.
Invasion of Egane Fulani settlement, burning of 213 huts, rustled 122 cows on 25 December, 2022.

IV.
Assault on the Lord’s Chosen Church, Ejule on 29 January 2023 for disturbing his Hotel with their Service, during which Joy Abuh, a worshipper sustained gunshot injury on her left hand.

V.
He was also responsible for seven (7) Kidnappings along Itobe-Anyigba highway from 5th to 28th May 2023.

Based on the above facts, the decision reached at the ‘State Security Council meeting held on 20th June 2023, that;

a. The state pardon granted to Kabir Bala in 2018 be revoked immediately.

b. Security agencies must go after Kabir Bala and arrest him immediately for prosecution.

c. All known agents of Kabir Bala in criminal activities must be apprehended to face the law.

d. All illegal arms in the possession of criminals in that area should be recovered for peace of the State.

e. Joint Operations should be set up comprising the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, Nigeria Police, DSS, Civil Defence to go after Kabir Bala and his gang to arrest them and recover the arms in their possession.

Today, 22nd June 2023, at about 0430hrs in pursuit of the above, the Kabir Bala and his gang members on sighting the Joint Security team opened fire on them and started shooting sporadically. The team engaged the hoodlums; the said Kabir Bala was neutralized in the process while other members of his gang escaped with varying degrees of injuries,
Items recovered from his premises include;
i.
One (1) AK 47 Rifle with three(3) fully loaded magazines
Six (6) locally fabricated weapons
ill.
Two (2) Phones and Charms

Finally, I wish to reiterate that, the ongoing onslaught against criminal activities will be sustained to ensure the safety of lives and properties in the States.

Education / Re: The Key Differences Between Colleges And Universities In Ontario by intruder15(m): 11:13pm On Jun 22, 2023
factsghcom:
The Key Differences Between Colleges and Universities in Ontario — In the Canadian province of Ontario, there are two primary options for higher education: colleges and universities. While both institutions offer valuable educational opportunities, they have distinct differences in terms of programs, credentials, learning environments, and career prospects. Understanding these differences is crucial for prospective students as they navigate their educational paths and make informed decisions about their future.

In this comprehensive guide, we will explore and discuss ten key differences between colleges and universities in Ontario. By examining these distinctions, students can gain a deeper understanding of each institution type and make well-informed choices that align with their goals and aspirations.

1. Academic Programs and Credentials: Applied Skills vs. Theoretical Knowledge

One of the fundamental differences between colleges and universities in Ontario lies in the nature of their academic programs. Colleges predominantly offer applied programs that focus on practical skills development and hands-on training. These programs are designed to prepare students for specific careers or industries, such as business, healthcare, technology, or trades. In contrast, universities provide a broader range of programs that emphasize theoretical knowledge and research.

Universities offer undergraduate and graduate degrees in various disciplines, allowing students to delve deep into a specific field of study and pursue advanced research opportunities.

2. Degree Offerings: Diplomas and Certificates vs. Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral Degrees

Colleges in Ontario primarily offer diplomas and certificates upon completion of their programs. These credentials signify a level of proficiency in a specific field and are recognized by employers in relevant industries.

On the other hand, universities confer bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees. These degrees are more comprehensive and academic in nature, providing students with a broad education and specialized knowledge in their chosen discipline. University degrees are widely recognized and may be required for certain professions or advanced academic pursuits.

3. Learning Environment and Class Sizes: Small Cohorts vs. Large Lecture Halls

The learning environment and class sizes at colleges and universities in Ontario differ significantly. Colleges often cultivate a more intimate and hands-on learning experience, with smaller class sizes and a focus on student engagement. Students may benefit from more personalized attention from instructors, collaboration with peers, and practical learning opportunities.

Universities, due to their larger student populations, may have larger lecture-style classes, especially in the early years of undergraduate studies. However, as students progress through their programs and select specialized courses, class sizes tend to become smaller, allowing for more interaction with professors and fellow students.

There is nothing like right or wrong in marriage. It's about what works for both of you irrespective of what people think.
The irony of life is that the poor stay far away from home when married while the rich can stay with their parents after marriage.

Why won't they when the poor man's house is likely a 2 bedroom apartment while the reach man's house may be a mansion.

What matters is the comfort. Are you comfortable there? Or are you two treated like strangers ?

That will determine what is right or not okay.

Very welcome development. Lagos permits too much nonsense that other states won't even tolerate. Yoruba people are saying enough is enough. Anyone that feels one kind about it is free to move to another state.

No be to de rant haaa haaaa haaaaa.
The irony of this movement is that you guys made an actual lagosian look less lagosian to a non lagosian.
No be to de should enough is enough for mouth. Can you actually live by your words?

In some part of the south east, lands are not sold to the highest bidder. Read that line again. There are processes to sell a land which requires a sequence of audience i.e
notification to direct family, kindred, community, town, local govt and outsiders in that order if none of the earlier people stated were able to pay. Most times, the lands are sold before it gets to outsiders.

The irony of life is that an Enugu man is regarded as an outsider in that context to an Anambra man. Not necessarily about Yoruba or Hausa.
There are some lands family will not even allow you to sell. If they realize you sold it, they can refund the person that paid for the land. e.g lands that have cultural significance. It's not about tribe in this context.

So, tribalism is not the motive. Who won't want to sell to the highest bidder? Every seller wants to make money right? Just that the system won't allow it.

Now let's come back to Lagos. In Lagos, kids sell their father's property to the extent of selling their father's resident home. Most of these people are not actual lagosians because they end up relocating to their village. So, how do you tell Taiwo not to sell his father's land bestowed on him to the highest bidder when there is no process in place to checkmate his activity?
