Every village in Imo State has an igwe thanks to the autonomous community arrangement. All they do is cause trouble and kiss up to the state government. What kind of igwe has been abroad since and abandoned his community? Who has been managing the affairs of the community? Of course such persons wouldn't want the igwe back alive because of fringe benefits that comes with such communal power. Not that I condone what happened to him, but they need to get rid of Imo State style of igweship. Every political charlatan must not be an igwe.

Does it matter? Black are reduced to slaves whether abroad or in Nigeria. The difference is that at least they get appreciated and paid for services rendered abroad. Social contracts with government cover them too. Thus they drive on good roads, have steady electricity and good healthcare system. In Nigeria, the slaves (aka citizens) are dared to complain or worse, criticize the government. The difference is clear but slavery nonetheless.

The plausible deniability in Nigeria is appalling. One would think that nobody associated with Abacha while the majority of the politicians and yeyebrities worshipped him. 500 gallons of water go for N20k. Multiply by 4 in a month, that's N80k. By extrapolation, that's N960k in a year on water alone. Why? None of the so-termed ills of military rule have been fixed---bad roads, no electricity, no freedom of speech, dilapidated hospitals, dead refineries, high inflation, high unemployment, etc. So do tell...what difference has "Democracy" made since 1999?
