Bro, you do know that there are a lot of factors that are considered before shooting a movie. Cost of production is one of them... Casting, Location, Extras, etc are always the top of the list.

Most Nigerian Producers don't have the cash to make good movies, so they make budget movies with bad CGI and the rest... You can't really blame them entirely anyway shaa...Film making is expensive!

then they should borrow money if need be.dont they see how Hollywood get big loans from multinationals to make movies and when it comes out it becomes madddd.if it's money that is the hindering factor from making good movies,get a loan because it appears that the more mediocrity and foolishness you can display,the more you will be celebrated in this part of the world and the next thing is that you're back already labelled a celebrity.

There is no how multinational companies will not support you with big loans if you can do something that will wow them.you cannot be doing the same thrash and expect support from big names.if na you nko? Will you financially support a child that you know will not yield good fruits or dividends for you?

The first thing is forget about pirates.position yourself in such a way that multinationals will be fighting among themselves to pump money into your project then when you produce a movie that will blow their mind,if Tomorrow you say you want to do another movie you think they will think twice before pumping money into you?

If they can do that , they'll be the ones protecting your interest because your interest is already their interest and they have a stake in it so they'll use all their resources to kill every pirate.

I heard this light skinned short man who was a brand ambassador for Etisalat, he's also a comic actor.(hafiz or something like that) I heard he's a lecturer and I get very appalled when he shoots movies with semi illiterates and you who is a lecturer in theatre arts cannot bring a level of sanity and depth into movie making.it surprises me a lot

However, you can still be one of the new Film makers to usher Nollywood into a new era...if you are into Film Making or if you will go into Film Making.
You have good knowledge of how things should be done, so it's going to be a welcome development.

film making is not my area of specialization.however anyone with basic common sense who has seen better quality movies and how things operate in saner climes will see these things

Nonetheless my recommendation is that nigeria needs to have a professional organization (nollywood objective film critic if you will call it) who are technocrats in film making and production.they should be made up of people with sound expertise such as professors, PhDs and researchers who will do a thorough screening and assessment, remove irrelevant storylines,guide the producers on angles to take in producing better quality assurance movies,the cast need a thorough reorientation on how to interpret movies.if they need to register in Hollywood movie academy they should do so.anything that will bring a professional touch to movie making not all these shallowness we see around.these training might take 5 to 10 years with lots of rigorousness ,stress, financial commitment and meticulousness put into it and by the time they come out with their knowledge and training,my o my... even Hollywood will begin to see them as a threat.they need to stop using 1 week to shoot crappy movies.thats just the basics

Horrific.when they now want to make matters worse they'll be playing some annoying songs from the background telling the audience subtly about what will happen next.when they now want to impress with grammar, they'll flop.the thing I noticed is that these guys are not just ready to improve their craft and evolve.imagine repeating the same story line for 10 years plus even when other serious life events has taken over that plot and when you tell them,they won't take it as correction but as criticism.

Too local and razz, mediocre production.unintelligent storylines with abrupt ending

Hollywood is where it is today because it is not afraid to make challenging and difficult movies with well told storylines and the right VFX...
This things take time to learn and perfect... Even if you have $500m as movie budget, if it doesn't tell a good story, the movie will flop full time.

exactly.thats where nollywood gets it wrong.they think it's by investing money without paying attention to the technicalities and almost perfect storylines.especially the Yoruba nollywood.theyll be repeating and recycling boring and predictable storylines that have become nauseating.they are also too sexist and sterotypical in their movies with tacky and lousy Yoruba fat actresses with razz makeup and costumes
