at least quote the real author of this piece....Ugo Egbujo

Futuragetty:
Boko haram dont trouble Chad and Niger.
And dont really trouble Cameroun.
The demography , topography and geology of the territory they seek in Nigeria exist in abundance in all those countries.
And those countries are much more feeble and therefore more vulnerable.
So why Nigeria?
It is abundantly clear that our neighbours are not committed to the fight against the insurgency.
The insurgency uses their territories to plan and launch attacks on us.
We have tried conventional diplomacy .
It hasnt worked. We may have to try something asymmetric. We have to needle those countries.
We have been begging and pampering.
We have to pinch them. We have to use our resources and affect the internal affairs of
those countries. We can do it. They are small.
We have to upset the politics in those countries. We have to throw our weight behind leaders , even if they be in opposition
, who will pledge to fight boko haram with their hearts. We have proximity. It's self-interest first. France cant stop us. Siddon look won't work. Paddy paddy hasn't worked. We need to disrupt things.

And about inhuman treatment melted out even to an alleged Terrorist, is frowned upon by this Constitution. So the army is right in investigating his death.

Culture / Re: Part Of Igbo Land Where You Mustn’t Kill A Python by Iruosonobrugwhe: 9:11am On Sep 16, 2019
Pythons get venom?

It is also revered among the Nembe people of bayelsa, it is permitted to crawl into homes.

AngryNijerian:
I know one woman that python mistakenly bit in her farm. She said to the python; why will you bite me, don't you know that i'm daughter of the soil and besides i didn't intentionally march you. Immediately the python's venom started dripping off her leg. You will think its a story but it actually happened.

You don't kill python here, some see python entering their room at night but won't bat an eyelid and will probably sleep in that same room with the python. If you don't like its presence take a stick and take it out of your house while you throw the stick away because if you don't it will trace that stick back to your house.

Politics / Re: Supreme Court Strikes Out Suit Challenging Gov Wike's Eligibility by Iruosonobrugwhe: 2:48pm On Jul 15, 2019
technicalities rather than merit of the case....same with osun

Mophasa:
The Supreme Court on Monday struck out a suit challenging the eligibility of Governor Nyesom Wike for the 2019 gubernatorial election in Rivers State.

A five-man panel of the Apex Court In two unanimous judgments upheld two appeals by Wike, with which he challenged the leave granted to Elvis Chinda by the Court of Appeal.

Chinda had sued at the Federal High Court, querying, among others, the authenticity of birth certificate allegedly submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by Wike and prayed the court to disqualify him from contesting the last governorship election.

Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt in a judgement, earlier this year, dismissed the suit, a decision Chinda appealed at the Court of Appeal, Abuja.

Chinda later discovered that his notice of appeal was wrongly addressed to the Federal High Court as against the Court of Appeal, and applied for leave to amend.

Wike objected to the amendment sought by Chinda, on the grounds that he applied to amend outside the time allowed by law for him to appeal the judgment of the Federal High Court.

The Court of Appeal disregarded Wike’s objection and granted the amendment sought by Chinda, a decision wike appealed to the Supreme Court in two appeals marked: SC/606/2019 and SC/607/2019.

In its lead judgment, authored by Justice Olukayode Ariwoola and read by Justice Paul Galumje, the Apex Court set aside the leave granted Chinda by the Appeal Court to amend his notice of appeal.

The Supreme court held that the amendment, granted outside the time allowed for the appellant to file his appeal, violated Paragraph 14(4) of the First Schedule to the Electoral Act.

The Supreme Court proceeded to allow both appeals filed by Wike and struck out the notice of appeal filed by Chinda, which it said was defective.

So i havent been able to log in for sometime. My little habitat is partly completed. But i want to start by appreciating sir Gbadexy, the paintmaster. Saw his works here, sent him a whatsapp message and he replied. To cut a long story short, paint was delivered to my site in warri from lagos. excellent logistics...my builder had no issues at all. After painting, everyone who has seen it loves the outcome. pictures have been sent to me(low quality phones) and look nice. when i visit,i will take correct pictures. Folks have moved in and all is well. Thank you Gbadexy, thanks for the freebies, you will hear from me more.

thanks to all who contribute here. it made it easier for me to benchmark prices. someone "reputable and godfearing" gave me a quotation of N990/sqm for screeding.......i laughed and told the egbon not to bother. thanks to this page, i knew the range and got a bargain for 550....stuffs like that. i appreciate all that you do hear.

Politics / Re: 49 Of 127 Buhari, Osinbajo’s Aides Get N2.48bn In Four Years by Iruosonobrugwhe: 10:56am On May 13, 2019
approximately 10m per annum ...very okay for a special adviser who is almost the same level with a minister. That is entry level pay for fresh graduates in many big organizations.

that said, the number of special advisers should be slashed drastically.

ebusnwaoma:
A special report by Punch, alleges that 49 out of 127 of President Buhari and Osinbajo’s aides got N2.48bn in four years of the government. It was learnt that the salaries of the 49 President Buhari and Osinbajo’s aides who got N2.48bn in four years of the government, was captured by the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission.

Some of them work with the President’s wife, Aisha; Vice-President’s wife, Dolapo; Chief of Staff to the President and some ministers such as the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Information and Culture. Read the report below;

Each special adviser is entitled to an annual basic salary of N1,942,875; motor vehicle fuel and maintenance of N1,457,156.25; special assistant (full value paid for by the government); personal assistant allowance of N485,718.75; domestic staff allowance of N1,457,156.25; entertainment allowance of N874,293.75; utilities allowance of N582,862.50 and newspapers/periodicals allowance of N291,493.75.  These allowances come up to a total of N7, 091,493.75 per annum or N590, 957.81 a month. The total salary for the 49 aides amounts to N347, 483,193.75 per annum. For tenure of four years, they collect N1.39bn.

However, there are other irregular allowances. These include  an accommodation allowance of N3, 885,750 per annum. The 49 aides collect N190.4m per annum for accommodation. This amounts to N761.61m for tenure of four years.A furniture allowance of N5, 828,625 is paid once in Four-year tenure. For the 49 aides, this amounts to N285.6m for the tenure. Leave allowance of N194, 287.50 is paid once a year. For the 49 aides, this amounts to N9.52m per annum or N38.08m per tenure. Other allowances include tour allowance of N25, 000 per night for local trip and $800 per night for foreign trips. Medical treatment is fully provided and not monetised. While some of these aides are paid in foreign currencies, other are paid the naira equivalent. American donor agencies are said to pay lesser than British agencies, for instance. Some of the aides are rated per hour while others are rated and paid on a monthly basis.

you are very correct, finally negotiated 550 /sqm with someone else. And the person re-measured and it was 30ft less

diordaves:

Good quality screening in Warri is from N500/SqM direct labour. So 900 you were quoted may have been as a result of your negotiating power or the quality you demanded or you are not using direct labour.
