just fill in your planned isolation address in the passenger locator form and stay there so contact and trace can meet you if they need you.

I used same email for all with separate passwords per application... kids are minors.[iT turned out fine

quote author=rebless post=103793223]Good morning Nairalanders,

Please when applying for a family visa, is it advisable to use the same email address for all the applicants or better to use different email address for each individual in the family? I hope that if one uses the same email address for everyone it will not result in confusion or affect application when it gets to appointments stage.

Thanks [/quote]

So this is the point i want to officially say thankyou to everyone here. You all represent the real Nigerian spirit of communal living. i got so much info from this thread that folks think i should be a superduper agent(who no go no know). From mummy GOs Tier 2 visa, to mine and the kids...it was smooth sailing, everything done from my desk. So after thanking God, i want to thank you all and inform you that i am now a bonafide member of Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant group. If i can i will write out my experience soon so watch out for the diary of a Tier 2 Handbag

One thing is certain, recommend this thread to others. Nothing is new, somebody must have passed through whatever you are experiencing.

Godbless you all. make i go dey learn innit, you aw righ, thingy, mate etc. For now right hand drive is causing me confusing.

Dear all,

Is it possible to book a day 5 test to release after arrival? If the passenger earlier paid for day 2 and 8.

Hello all,

any suggestions for a test provider for day 2 and 8 covid tests? seeing different ones and some are too cheap for comfort.

Thanks a lot for your efforts. actually i am only asked to submit BRP, birth certificate, consent letter an TB cert. maintenance is ticked on CoS
dubaiprince:

For tier two visa, I submitted the following for the kids.

1. Birth certificate (very important)
2. Consent letter (very important)
3. BRP (Very important).
4. The passport data page of my child (Very important).
5. My own passport data page and visa page (Very important).
6. The visa application form.
7. Some pictures of the child (like 10 is enough)
8. Immunization card.
9. My Certificate of Sponsorship (very important).
10. Letter from my employer certifying my maintenance. (my employer is A rated though and maintenance was certified on my CoS, so I did not need to submit this but I just did)
11. My bank statement (I did not need to submit this as well because my sponsor is A rated but just did).
12. Tuberculosis test certificate (Very Important)

For my wife, I submitted what I listed above except immunization card, birth certificate and consent letter. I added marriage certificate, reference letter from the bank showing we operate a joint account and some pictures.

It is advisable to upload proof of relationship as much as you can.

thank you very very much

dubaiprince:

You don't need to go as far as mentioning your plan to move to a bigger apartment in the consent letter. You also do not need to state you currently stay in a shared apartment. Just put the address you are living currently. I am not sure anyone will come and confirm if accomodation status. I applied for visa for my wife and 3 kids last month and they all got it within 9 workings days (standard application) while still staying in a shared apartment. I just started looking for a bigger apartment. I am on a tier 2 visa.

actually concurring with you.

Tutu82:

Amongst other things means letter is not enough you have to prove it and the address would be looked up.This is an advisory forum so take what you need.
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Iruosonobrugwhe: 12:13pm On Jun 08, 2021
it actually states amongst other things that the letter of consent should confirm "consent from parent(s) to the living arrangements in the UK and the address where you will be staying.

Tutu82:

This is not correct information, you do need to prove it through accommodation amongst other things and they will check for safeguarding and child protection.
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Iruosonobrugwhe: 10:35am On Jun 08, 2021
Thanks much appreciated.

Yes it is stated as a shared apartment. The urgency is just to give enough time so they can be in before schools resume.

hello Fam

Currently applying for kids to join in the uk. part of the documents required is consent letter signed by both parents stating some thing amongst which is plans for accommodation. still in a shared apartment but plan to move before they arrive however no concrete address yet.
Do we state in the letter that we intend to move to a bigger place soon or wait till we get the place then apply? suggestions welcome.

With the sad cases of folks who go to bring wives from village that turn something else, i begin to think, what About the Nigerian ladies in UK? at least those ones still have an element of home and will be better understanding and help with the kids. abi the men don show dem shege?
Ilekokonit:

That one small na. If you want to bring up your child in the UK the way you were brought up in Nigeria, you will be lucky to escape prison as you are not allowed to smack your child in the UK and school teachers actively check your child's body for scars if they suspect the child may have been flogged at home and the child need not tell the teacher, your neighbors could call the police or your child's classmates may tell the teacher after being confided in and the teacher may then call the police depending on their judgement on the smack.

What would you do for instance if your own wife tells you in front of your 10 year old son who you were about to discipline that "If you touch that boy, I will call the police" ?? and this happened to a close friend after 10 years of marriage to a woman he went to bring from Naija. Suffice it to say that they are now separated and she has driven a wedge between my friend and his 2 kids whom she monopolizes and restricts access to my friend. And this na woman wey him give papers o. And this is one of the reasons I believe that going to bring a woman from Nigeria is not the magic bullet for a happy marriage.

Thanks @AshiriOluwa

Please suggestions are welcome. Ticket was bought before Turkey turned red. Cancel tickets?
Ashirioluwa:

Yes because Turkey is among the UK red list countries. Avoid transiting through the red list if you can.

Also the red list rule will affect you because you have close contact with other passengers while boarding at Turkey airport and also while seating inside the plane from Turkey to UK.

Please does transiting through Turkey mean i am coming from a red zone? i have booked a flight via turkish airlines and now seeing news around it being a redlist country. Transiting through Turkey, do i need to compulsorily isolate in a hotel? Any info/advice will be welcome

Hello my people, I am back again. Heard I have been missed so much, make una no vex o.
I have backlog of issues ...eh no be small but I can start small.
Just a quick update, I have just finished my Bsc Top up, looking forward to starting a masters soon. It's been really an exciting and challenging journey at the same time.
I must say again if you want to practice in the UK, please start your applications asap. Things are becoming harder by the day and rumours are having it that it might become harder. I also encourage people to start NMC application on time if possible before IELTS or simultaneously because it takes so much time these days.
All the best from me.
Ps: I promise to be better at this, so help me God.

Take national express from Heathrow to your destination
Travel / Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by Iruosonobrugwhe: 5:08pm On May 20, 2021
Thanks a lot.....about GBP200-250 difference. The load go many...full option. so the clumsiness and wahala of getting on a train

omopapa:
The difference between landing in london and Birmingham is the convenience. For example: if flight from Lagos to London is £500 and flight from Lagos to Birmingham is £580. I’d choose the 2nd option as it’s easier and more convenient.

Choosing the first option will require you to take train, bus or taxi which is additional cost also and more stressful moving ur bags on and off the trains.
Travel / Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by Iruosonobrugwhe: 12:53pm On May 20, 2021
dear landlords and landladies of queen Elizaville,

I intend to come to the midlands soon. How convenient is it to arrive through Heathrow and take a train with my 'Nigerian sized luggage"?
The alternative is to fly in through Birmingham but the london route is cheaper.
