WHAT ARE EXEMPT INCOMES UNDER UK TAX LAWS?

Exempt incomes are non-taxable incomes that you are not required by law to let HMRC know about them, and you are not required to pay tax on them. This means that when you are filing your tax returns, you do not need to state them on your tax returns. This is legal as the law has exempted them from taxes.

I have provided a list of some of the exempt incomes below for your attention.
1. Interest income earned on your Individual Savings Account- ISAs.
2. Rent received from letting one room in a flat occupied by your family- achieved through the Rent -A-Room Scheme.
3. Interest earned from investment savings certificates offered National Savings & Investment (NS&I)- NS&I is a government department under Chancellor of Exchequer that encourages savings and investment among UK residents. The UK Government guarantees ALL investments made in NS&I products.
5. Income earned from lottery and gambling,
6. Foreign incomes made by UK residents who are not "Domiciled" in the UK. What if i sell the evil forest in my village and bring in funds, is it taxable?
7. Income earned from investment in UK government gilts or bonds.

The list is longer but I will stop here now. If your financial transactions are complicated and you need help with you tax planning, follow me on TikTok @japhethjev1 or chat me on whatsapp 07450278715.

Cheeers!

Zahra29:

It depends on several factors such as your location and your LTV%. Increasing demand for homes in many areas has pushed rent up to historic levels. Demand is set to increase even further as more landlords sell up and more people can no longer afford to buy and have to rent instead - so there is no telling how high rents will rise.
Conversely, house prices are falling or stagnating in many areas so this could be a good time for a cash buyer or someone with a very good LTV to snap up a decent bargain(compared to recent years)

It means you can drive legally for 1 year from the date of your entry before you are required to have a UK license. So you can go ahead and buy a car now. It will actually help you get familiar on your own terms.
But by September when you clock 1 year, you must acquire a local license in order to drive legally.

hmmn, with the lack of dates for testing...what can one do. Provincial license only?

Meanwhile, on today's episode of culture shock...

A few days ago,I got a call, a marketing call, dude sounded nice until he announced his product. . ..funeral plans!.....not life insurance ooo....funeral plans, For me and missus.................. I immediately remembered the conversation here on funerals, flying corpses back to Nigeria and cremation cost. I said missus has her life to live and her decisions to make.
I was in between shock and curiousness so I tagged along answering my preference would be cremation while laughing. Then he passed me on to a colleague for quotation! Colleague started marketing product like who was marketing Tura soap to sisi Allen Avenue. I said, wooolup! Hold it there! Guy continued pitching. I said I wasn't interested in the Convo again,he didnt stop oo, kept on talking, i politely said i wasn't interested at the moment. Next he said was.......''Best to Lock in the deal now because it would be more expensive when you are ready''! I dropped the call at once .........fillage pipo may summon me for even entertaining such discussion

Accept the one for grade 2 and re-apply for the other one. Chances are that they will get the child into same schol in the next round except he school is actually full. i think you only need to pay for the senior one..key stage 1 i.e jnr primary is free feeding. and the meals if i remeber costs about £10 per week.

mex551:
Good evening Ancestors on this street. I need your guidance here. We just relocated to Coventry from Naija and in the process of finding school for the kids. We wrote to the council and they scheduled a zoom meeting with us where they interviewed us alongside the kids. (6 and cool they told us that the nearest school of our choice has vacancy for the 6 year old in grade 2 while they do not have vacancy for the other kid who should be in grade 4. They said the option we have is to accept the nearest school for the grade 2 and the other farther school for the other one while we apeal to the council to see if they can reconsider and place both in same school

That is one. The next is that if they eventually place them and we want them fed, we would have to pay to the school for feeding. That one confuse me. I thought public schools in UK feed their pupils. Abi Coventry own dey different. How do I handle this feeding own.

Wahala be like Boris haircut....e can never smooth. This is a very bad sign, too early. the summary of the unspoken is simple, why your mum and not hers? Also she is only the spokesperson, the instigators are in Nigeria. Suspend any action, let mothers stay back. let her raise funds and try to bring her mum because you dont have to spare for now.....do not oppose it.

Hello Good people,

How does one get a fit to fly certificate after having to shift a flight due to testing positive for corrobucci? since it is said that one who tests positive will likely return a positive test weeks after the first one and not advised to do another one.

Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Iruosonobrugwhe: 6:31pm On Sep 06, 2021
You will pay day 2, day 5 and day 8. If day 2 is positive, then forget your day 5 money...it becomes inconsequential. best is to wait until after day 2 results then pay for day 5. You can be free from day 6 if the result is negative but you must still do day 8 test.

nwauwa:
pls for test to release, are you required to pay and undergo day 2 test, then day 5 test and release on day 6 or does test to release mean just day 5 only test then release on day 6?

This is for people that have done test to release
