Politics / “The Reputation Of Our Country Is At Stake” – Atiku Reacts To Tinubu’s Forgery by iSense247: 9:50pm On Oct 05, 2023
“The Reputation of our Country is at Stake” – Atiku Reacts to Tinubu’s Alleged Certificate Forgery

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has said that the reputation of the country is at stake.

Abubakar made the statement at a world press conference on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at the Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja.

The press conference was scheduled to address the issue of President Bola Tinubu’s academic records, which were released by the Chicago State University (CSU) earlier this week.

“The reputation of our country is at stake,” Abubakar said in the press conference. “And that affects every Nigerian, here or wherever he or she is globally.”

He added, “The constitution prescribes the requirement for those who seek position in elective offices and it should not be disrespected by anyone who seek for such offices.”

According to Atiku, elections are the foundation of democracy, and the results are not as important as the process, adding that the outcome of the last elections has put Nigeria’s reputation at global risk.

Recall that the records were released by Chicago State University on Monday in compliance with a ruling by Magistrate Jeffrey Gilbert. Tinubu had filed a review of the order, but federal judge Nancy Maldonado overruled his objections.

The CSU documents affirmed that Tinubu attended the university from August 1977 to June 1979 and was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with Honors on June 22, 1979. However, there are discrepancies in the documents released.

Atiku is expected to use the documents to further his election appeal at the Supreme Court. He is challenging Tinubu’s victory in the February 25, 2023 presidential election on the grounds of electoral fraud.

Politics / Chicago State University: Peter Obi Mocks President Tinubu by iSense247: 6:30pm On Oct 02, 2023
Peter Obi, the flagbearer of the Labour Party in the February 25 presidential election, has been seen making a satirical comment about President Bola Tinubu’s academic record at the Chicago State University (CSU).

In a tweet, Reno Omokri, a former presidential aide, shared a video of the former governor talking about how his academic records are available to all Nigerians, adding that his Alma Mata can give his transcript.

In the video, Obi said:

“My name is Peter Obi. I am from this town. I went to this primary school, this secondary school, this university.”

The audience was heard laughing, and he then said: “I don’t need to put an injunction for you not to see it. Go and tell them in Nsuka. They will give you my transcript.”

Some Nigerians have taken to the comment section to react to the video. See some of their reactions below:

A netizen with the name, @sunnshyn01, said: “Sorry, but I do not see an atom of mockery. All I see is a message being passed.”

Amaka Agbara said: “Please, where is the mockery here? Somebody that just stated a fact.”

Oyela opined that: “Thank God for Tinubu, that lets us understand that Education is a fraud and a waste of time in Nigeria before you hold public office. That doesn’t mean you can be a Nigerian before you become a Nigerian president.”

Bigjoe recalled that Atiku had been granted access to Tinubu’s academic record at the Chicago State University.

He said: “Atiku just won the case to release the Chicago certificate; what’s your thought on that leave, Peter.”

check this out. The certificate itself has nothing to do with his eligibility. It's his attendance of the school that matters. Also, the certificate is ceremonial, therefore it doesn't command any weight. Una sense never still clear. You guys are just riding on a stupid horse. Nothing will happen.
You think like a criminal. Someone submitted a forged certificate and you are saying this nonsense. If you employ a person and letter got to know that he forged his certificate, would you still retain him?

Most notable APC supporters (including Reno Omokiri) on twitter are attacking Peter Obi for the court Judgement.

Atiku was the petitioner, how come they are ignoring Atiku? What has Obi got to do with this case?

To me, this is an indication that somehow, they knew Obi won the election. They did not see Atiku as a threat.
It is low self-esteem couple with mental health challenges. In Obi's first hundred days in office, he must provide free psychiatric treatment for Tinubu's surpporters. They are Nigerians too.

PETER OBI ON ARISE TV.

You don't have to go to school to be a great leader. Many great leaders like Abraham Lincoln, Bill Gates, Winston Churchill etc. had educational challenges but you need to be honourable about your past.

The process through which people come into office is far more important than the office itself. You cannot come in through the window and start to clean the house. You lack the moral right to do the right things.

This is an issue of honour and integrity. It is a foundation on which you build a society. Look around and see the number of certificate forgery issues in the country and you'd know it's not good for the morale of the country
Obi is the only existing Philosopher of our time. Africans let us embrace him before it is late. Opportunity comes but once.

However, Atiku said rather than deliver justice on the merits of the case, judges in Nigeria had continued to give Tinubu victory based on technicalities, a development which had led to over 20 dubious victories.

Judiciary independence caused Tinubu’s defeat in US court – Atiku replies President’s lawyer, Ogala

The 2023 Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar has said the independence of the judiciary in the United States, US, led to President Bola Tinubu’s ultimate defeat at the Northern District of Illinois court.

Atiku was reacting to the order by Justice Nancy Maldonado to the Chicago State University to release all of Tinubu’s academic records to Atiku.

He lambasted Tinubu’s lawyer and former National Legal Adviser of the All Progressives Congress, Babatunde Ogala, who had described the US court victory as of no consequence.

Ogala had also compared the victory to masturbation, insisting that the judgement would have no consequence on Atiku’s appeal against Tinubu’s victory at the Supreme Court.

However, Atiku said rather than deliver justice on the merits of the case, judges in Nigeria had continued to give Tinubu victory based on technicalities, a development which had led to over 20 dubious victories.

He said Tinubu had continued to evade justice since 1999 when the legendary human rights lawyer, Gani Fawehinmi (SAN), first blew the lid on his alleged certificates scam.

Speaking through his Special Assistant on Public Communications, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku said it was unfortunate that the Nigerian judiciary had failed to live up to expectation as the last hope of the common man.

He said, “Justice Maldonado who has spent less than one year on the bench and who sat on this case for barely a month, has been able to do what the Nigerian judiciary could not do for 23 years. This explains why the Nigerian society is on the brink of slipping into the state of nature, which Thomas Hobbes described as short, brutish, and nasty.

“Ordinarily, we would not have responded to the words of a legal Lilliputian who has never won any landmark case in court and whose growth in the legal field is tied to the apron strings of a Chicago Bagman. However, the truth needs to be said for the sake of posterity.

“It is unfortunate that Ogala glorifies technicality instead of justice. Ogala claimed that the victory was meaningless. So, why did his principal try to block the release of his credentials if he had nothing to hide? Why did he also appeal the initial judgment? The Bible says only the wicked run when no one chases them. Why has Tinubu been blocking the release of his academic records for nearly 30 years?”

Atiku’s aide said Ogala’s outburst was based on his desperation to receive an appointment from Tinubu, having failed to make the cabinet.

He claimed that, “Ogala was lobbying to be the Attorney-General. He believed it was his birthright after defending Tinubu in court on several occasions.

“However, having only received the title of senior advocate two years ago without any remarkable or landmark cases under his belt, Tinubu opted for the more experienced Lateef Fagbemi.

“Since then, Ogala has been trying to ingratiate himself to Tinubu and is now standing logic on its head just to please his master. How pathetic!”

Kapeter:
To buttress his point, he challenged anyone to go to his alma mata at Cambridge, Oxford and Nsukka and ask for his records, that he won’t stop such requests with injunctions.

The above must have been a veiled dig at Tinubu who has been running from pillar to post to stop the release of his “first class” academic records by Chicago State University.
Hear how Obi said ”I assure you” towards the end of the video, and you would know that Tinubu might not escape what is coming.

Emefiele's only crime is that he contested against APC gods - Tinubu. If he had kept mute or supported Tinubu, he would have been enjoying his loot by now. He would have been given the opportunity to loot much more.

New Nigeria’ll Work If Leaders Stop Stealing, No Need To Change Constitution — Peter Obi
The 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, on Friday, submitted that Nigeria need not change its constitution before the nation can function well.

Information Nigeria reports that Obi stated this at the Chinua Achebe Symposium, and the 10th Anniversary Memorial and 40th Anniversary of His seminal booklet “The Trouble with Nigeria Is Self-Inflicted” at Princeton University, New Jersey, United States of America.

In a series of posts via X, he posited that the leadership of the country must be one that has its credentials identifiable.

His words: “Regarding the vision of a New Nigeria we must restructure; if Nigeria is being operated in ways that stop stealing; it will work. We don’t need to change the Constitution to secure the country,we need to do the right thing and abide by the rule of law.

“Now, there is real trouble in Nigeria.

“Rascality has become a measure of success in Nigeria. That must change.

“We must have leadership that is committed to the rule of law.. that has an identity and credentials that can be verified.

“If India can feed its population, Nigeria with one-seventh of her population can do the same.”

“We must have leadership that is committed to the rule of law… that has an identity and credentials that can be verified. We can start thinking of a new Nigeria with competence, and capacity that is committed to fighting corruption. Is it possible to fight corruption? The answer is yes!

“The trouble with Nigeria is self-inflicted. If Achebe was alive, he would have taken back the book. When he wrote it, there was no trouble. Now, there is real trouble in Nigeria. Rascality has become a measure of success in Nigeria. That must change.”
Nothing to add Sir. Mr Tinubu is an internationally renowned hardened criminal. Shame on his empty coconut head.
