Is this the same Lauretta who is supposed to be a human trafficker and purveyor slash mechandizer of sex slaves? |
When thisa government talks, they spew thrash and make it seem like they are trying to forcefeed some illiterate children....what a moronish way to dish out information...are we suppose to be salivating at this latest bullshit from Lai lai mohammed....government of utter transformation ...from body language to body odour...stink and stench everywhere this goverment touches |
@Durubian and co apologists...may you intellectually remain where you are and not come in contact with anyone who will be a victim of your little mindedness because...it is people like you displaying a little knowlegde mixed with plenty self righteousnesss that anyone sane enough to discern should watch out for |
I stilll dont understand what it is with tragedy and the type of exclamations I see from some of our muslim brothers...bomb went off and it is hasbunallahi you are talking about, or allahu akbar or jazakatuul...what has that got to do with the bomb going off and killing people...condemn the act shikena...me I tire |
Very laudable as anything to immortalize GEJ is most welcome in a country where only scoundrels are reverred and made alta-egos. But the crfatmanship is so poor. Craftsmen in Nigeria generally are very poor with little or no emphasis on the sublime |
this una oyinbo Jesus...pointed nosed caucasoid...i shall not partake..but good artistry all the same |
I would say congratulations to him for the feat...Having said that, I generally think that considering the sometimes subjective nature of our educational clime, I give more credibility to those who come out tops without having any cultural ties to the university of their graduation. this is not to say many genuine firsts dont abound, who are also indigenes of the univesrity towns or states they attended but a lot goes down other that scholastic excellence in many of our tertiary institutions. Sometimes your name or language spoken is enough to give you a smooth ride and passage to being the best as against it always being your brain power. when your achievements comes down to your name or tribe, then we should collectively unhinge the mindset of best in this or that. More so because these same firsts by association and not merit go on to be the problem in the larger society where they favor tribe and culture over excellence and merit to the continuous detriment and decay of society |
I enjoyed the post because it speaks to my idea of what a students experience in our ivory towers should be like...educational rigor, relaxed certainty, fun thats meaningful with a most benign artistic and creative fervor. May our youths continue to be guided aright inspite of all the darkness lurking around our society |
Is that the same allahu akbar that the islamist miscreants and brainwashed hordes dont understand when they go out killing, maiming and pilfering for a God that is supposedly all great and powerful, when the same all great and powerful God could have fought his fight himself without the help of puny man. If allah is truly Akbar...then let the all great and powerful god fight for himself especially where no physical abuse was the offense commited by perceived enemies of islam or his prophets. Why would such a god need your help to do defend himself or his legacy through violence. May the light of truth that is singular be our guide. |
Democracy qnd free speech, freedom and the flight of common sense, the flight of common sense and the irrationality of man...Indeed we are but beasts when our conscience and humanity is relegated to the place of radicalism, extremism and a seared conscience. Sometimes we should ask ourselves certain questions before we go out on the whim of little minded sponsors who are most happy to map their belittled minds to those of a suppressed citizenry. These are my questions: A woman was killed in Kano for protesting the use of her business property to perform a religious rite...there were no protests Four men were killed for practicing their religion in Niger state...there were no protests A man was gruesomely attacked in kaduna for feeding when he was hungry and almost killed...there weer no protests A woman was killed most savagely for preaching(albeit I am not sure how she provoked anyone to anger)... there were no protests A church was raided in daylight and vandalized by religious hoodlums with residents beaten just because they were of a certain religious persuasio...there were no protests All these happened within the last 3 months and are more than fresh or fresher in our memories and there was no outpouring of collective rage and disdain for the perpetrators. No protests, no words spoken in these same quarters to resist such barbaric behaviors. But the result of the slaughter of innocents numbering in the hundreds that happened much older than all these cited instances draws protests...where is our conscience. May God give us a conscience that we can truly hold up to the light of truth and recoil in shame at our lost humanity. |
I find no real qualms with having as many universities as possible in the Niger delta, whereever it might be situated. We have some northern towns...I mean towns not even the entire state that have got more federal presence in terms of Educational institutions than the whole of Delta state put together. Go to Zaria and see what is happening. On some streets, you have more federal presence using federally derived niger delta poil resources to fund those insttutions. So if Delta or Warri alone gets 100 universities and they are put to work either now or sometime in the future when we get things right...so be it. Delta state is deserving of every penny spent there that benefits its people. |
Our country stands very sordidly enmeshed in sychophancy and voluntary amnesia because there seems to have been no cause over our history wheather for good or evil that has not seen its fair share of marchers of some kind. fair weather minds and propelled by uncandid spirits sure puts us apart as some of the most hypocritical of beings walking the earth. At least I can speak from when I got to objectlively follow and analyse issues of state...when it was IBB, people hailed, when shonekan assumed his interim post, people marched still in support, when the thieving and murderous abacha was head of state, he had a million people marching, and after him when abdusalam assumed office others wanted him to either stay a little longer before handing over to democrats, when the democratic obasanjo was elected, he had his own throng of marchers wanting him to perpetuate himself in office for third term and more and whenYar'adua/jonathan assumed office with their seven point and transformation agendas more persons marched in one guise or another calling themselves tanoids and all whatsnot, now a democratic buhari is president and the march goes on...only common denominator is the sychophancy and hypocrisy running in the veins of the marching crowd. In the end every people get the kind of government they truly deserve and to march in hypocrisy is also a fundamental right to be had under any democracy...the loser in all of this is the still decaying societal values that should shape our core humanity but remains lacking |

In a world devoid of ideals, everything becomes drudgery and skewed. We seem to forever be caught in the endless loop of tribalism. It doesn't help because every region and tribe in Nigeria has got its abundance of cliches attached to it. I want to be Nigerian first, second, so on and last. I will want to see a nigeria where we celebrate everything great about each person without first asking where he comes from and where we unequivocally and equally criticize bad behavior without first asking where the person comes from. As a nigerian, I speak for myself and maybe for many others out there who are proud to be Nigerian...we have some of the most imaginative and fertile minds, lets not put it to waste haggling over tribe because it is the main reason we are still we are. unable to move forward even though we all agree we need to but have refused to do the needful because nonentity called tribe stands in the way. |
The religion of ISlam is most partetic in its following in the North of Nigeria. Areligion that celebrates the death of Innocents and shouts in praise that the devil is great for giving them the death and sadness of another man is more or less a symbol of demonic worship. No one should be fooled. The celebration is widespread and it isnt just by the mai shai and almajiri bunch, it also cuts across the supposed "illiterate elite" as most "educated" northerners like to see themselves. It is such a sorry sorry practice of a religion that hides behind the curtain of peace to forment darkness. |
Very funny Triangular and square music...very good humor. But for some serious reposte, I will advice you to better do what your conscience can handle,if you feel guilty listening to secular music then stop listening b ut dont implore others to be like you. It is interesting to see how far religion has brought us. May our hearts and minds truly be enlightened to the truth that transcends any religion. |
Obama says to Americans "You can be anything and whatever you want to be with hardwork and looking out for each other". Mitt "the Morph" Romney says to Americans "I can be whatever you guys want me to be". The former is consistent to an extent and with a soul to his personality while the latter is;you say it, just souless and slippery. I hope Obama wins |
@Olagamalin... you know if i put you before a mirror you wont recognise yourself, thats figurative if you understand it. I see facts and I write, I dont throw stones and hope it hits something. I would have said nothing if his compliments were complete. He should not have spoken of only the watch. Thats the problem here but I am sure you dont understand that. |
@Olagamalin...you are either a babalawo who can read peoples minds, a clairvoyant, or you are even elpatch who posted it, or his friend(birds of a feather) or maybe you are a psychologist to deduce he was trying to induce humor. Nevermind, keep towing such lines and see how far it gets you. Lets change our value system, the rot and misguidedness is deep. |
that was "Those children" for correction |
@ Harjibode...you are right you know, I will help you.. I am way past troubled, I am obstinately piqued by what I hear and see and shallow we have come in our thinking and by direct induction in our actions too. A man cant give what he doesnt have. Most people dont want to do anything good to have good things. They just want it to drop on their laps...no wonder the churches are now many and imams are praying for thieves to have success in their nefarious outings and parents dont even know what is right for their kids anymore. Stay calm and chilled and dont be troubled, I am sure you will be fine. |
I will go easy ...you know my post has nothing personal agaisnt anyone... you have to be angry at the events going on in our society. We are in trouble the road we are going. Do you want to have children some day in the future Do you know what does children will become. be ready to run out of your homes for your kids with the current value system we are peddling. It will be much worse and unimaginable if we dont each start hitting th reset button on our value system. Hard conscientous work pays, or if you dont like hard work, Smart non-injury or non life threathening work pays. I dont believe there will ever be a fair world, but I believe in giving everyone a fair and equal chance to gain the right type of knowledge to make our society better. |
@ PARIS10 YOU REALLY SAID IT RIGHT AND i AM ALL WITH YOU ON THIS @Muneme, reading what you have said in suport of a thoughtless comment and reading the way you worded it, I am scared for our generation. You make me scared, not in a fearful way for nature must surely take its course however much we defy it but you make me scared in a sorry way. How low can we get in our thinking. What we need to turn our thinking around and be a country of values will never be thought in our schools even but must be learnt by each person determined to pick up right thinking. |
@el-patch...these are the type of comments that show how very far removed and pathetic our values have become. Of everything to comment about in that post, it is his watch that caught your eye. He wasn't in a fashion show, he has just been made an ambassador due to his hard work, his using his mind constructively and all you see is his watch. If you were to give a talk to secondaRY school or primary school students(sorry, you cant even give a talk I am sure) what would you tell them. Watch or shoes or car or shirt doesnt add any value to you. Think creatively and produce something that endures and be contented with what you have or work with your conscience to make life better for yourself. Not only seeing his shinning watch because I am sure you will do same if you were in school in a university or even walking on the streets and you might even be salivating with dangerous greed and only the amount of values you have in you will determine what it will lead you to do. A strong value system is a priceless commodity. Spread this. If you dont wear a gold watch in your life it doesnt make you less a m,an. If you produce the best furniture there is by your hard work it is better than the naked avarice you just showed in your post. This is what happens to students in schools ,universities and even in our society on general where wrong values has led to our society standing on its head and it is the result we see everyday playing out in all sorts of cultist criminal gangs wanting to wear fine clothes as a sign of belonging(stupid thinking) or force a girl to go out with them(weaklings in their minds), drive a car you dont have the means to own or care for(criminality and laziness). Lets reset our values, we dont need church or mosque for this we need people to shed every form of societal pretence and hold on to true substance. Hard work really pays, hard work and smart CONSCIENTOUS thinking pays. |
However much anyone might want to be quick to critisize Achebe. It is good he is speaking out and saying these things. Should he be quiet for any reason...I think no. The best way to heal is to say all especially when you are not saying this for selfish reasons or to score cheap points. Not all our heroes are worth the glories heaped on them and not all the villainous ones deserve all the bile they get. For history to be fairly written as it should be (not just by the victors) but also by the "purpoted" vanquished, we must hear all sides. Achebe has spoken well, you can decide to not acknowledge it and go into self denial. But history remains what it is. I am pleased by his coming out with his memoirs, definitely going to make a good read. This is why I love writers especially those ones who treat reality and not fiction. Long after the so called political actors are gone especially of the ilk we have in Nigerias past, Achebe, Soyinka and the other greats will shine for as long as mankind remains. |
We shouldnt be too fast in making critic or too gullible to not think things through. That his father works in any type of oil company doesnt make any difference in the argument or rather reality of his son being a thief and possibly maybe even an armed robber. Who said all the crimes being commited are done by poor people. most times its the greedy, never contented already well to do fellows in universities who are trying to drive a car better than the one their friend drives or live in a big apartment so that they can brag and make false claims to being well to do. I dont like jungle justice, but if these boys are thieves, they deserved to be punished. We have a lot of criminals walking the corridors of our classrooms. Products of wrong value system. Ultimately justice comes to us all even if we might not like the color or taste of it. |
Great News. |
I personally find the man hekau to be everybit as deluded as he truly is..he must have a sort of short circuit or delay wired into his brain or he only just confirms how dull he trully is at processing information...It seems he hasn't been watching the news and events of the past weeks. Has he just received this information. If the news of this video has just reached him, then it should be an indicator (however weak) of the present state of affairs within BH and out itelligence agencies might be right to ask certain type of questions. |
@Johnny...I am sorry you think this way. I dont know you so i wont speculate ..but just to say a thing about your post. You dont think about molesting girls after drinking. I dont know where you learnt that...in church maybe or sunday school. If you are a molester, you will molest even after drinking water, same with a thief and criminal...you will commit crimes even under the most obvious and visible deterents. |
I am wondering what people find wrong in the picture. so the governor should not be pictured taking drinks and having fun even though he is performing and producing more results that any other past governor of Edo state since the time of the Old bendel state. What do non thinking peoples have to say about this with all the undeserved bile it creates in your bodies. I am beginning to think one of the reasons why Nigerians now have natuarlly low life expectancies is also linked to the inability of many people to live with a clean and open mind and the amount of crassness cramming up peoples minds eventually leads to the insane preponderance of nigerians to negative thoughts which rightfully yield their full results. I think some of us would have preferred to see the governor kneeling before some priest and receiving holy communion so that they would tow the normal hypocritical line of a god fearing governor. I prefer a governor that takes his time to have fun and enjoy the joys of life while making sure others enjoy it too through implementing policies that work and are tangible to a governor who will call the name of his pocket god at every chance but do nothing and impoverish his people for generations to come. |
@ Garri Activist.....hehehehe you really dey make me laff but i no surprise because your thinking matches very closely the prognosis of someone who has had tomuch garri water in his brain and I see how much it degrades your ability to think properly. So you really think Islam is making Progress, I wonder what Mohammed your prophet would be saying if he could see all these things going on and I wonder what the Sages from the early Moslem world would think if they could see what Islam has turned into. I am sure if you beheld retrogression with your eyes , you wont know what to call it. I wish you luck on your way to a redefinition of religious progress. Any religion that eats up its own and calls its strenght can only be likened to an unthinking animal and I mean any religion just in case your garri ladden brain doesnt take it in...Christianity, Islam, Judaism...I pray for the day when they will die and leave the earth a better and more reasonable place to live in...My prayer is for aeons and years however idealistic it might sound |
