Clementoke: I saw this somewhere. I don't know how true they are
The Sins of Gernot Rohr
1)With the the SuperEagles to play Benin Republic and Lesotho in an AFCON 2021 Qualifier in a tight schedule, Rohr, rather than go through the official administrative channel which is the the NFF, called CAF to change the match time.
2. GernotRohr unruly behaviour at the FIFA U20WC earned the the NFF a query. He was roaming round technical areas during the tournament without accreditation & when security/protocol officers stopped him, he rained abuses on them. It got to the organizers & then a query.
3. It's on record that Gernot Rohr was in talks with D.R Congo Football Federation boss, Omari, on taking over as coach of the team. Same Rohr made contacts with FECAFOOT to coach the Indomitable Lions. All facts well known.
4. Gernot Rohr loves our money in Nigeria but cannot live here to check for good local players. Rohr has killed the local league players psychologically.
I particularly doubt that No 2 "offence" How stupid does things get in Nigeria actually?! |

Tell us what we achieved during their reign and how they selected players for us Granted they did not succeed. But I can't see why you put Lagerback there or even Dennerby. Forget performance though, the context is this: How many out of those 3 put money over merit like Manu and the likes? |

Danielnino00: Wolves’ Adama Traoré has decided to play for Mali, switching over from Spain.
We could see a future Mali team featuring Wolves’ Adama Traoré on the right wing, Monaco’s Adama Traoré (on loan at Metz) in central midfield, and Metz’s Adama Traoré on the left wing.
In addition, we could potentially (unlikely) see Burgan’s Adama Traoré playing as a holding midfielder, with free agent Adama Traoré lining up in attack.
One team, five Adamas Traores

DrLikita12: I agree with you. Part of the problem imo is that local coaches do not seek to develop themselves, so for many of them national team jobs become a do or die affair; once they get there they have no plans to leave so they suck up to the NFF.
The only way to eradicate the problem is to encourage our coaches to improve themselves and our young people/former players to go into coaching. If they obtain licenses, and have the courage to try coaching at different levels within and outside Nigeria, we will have quality coaches who do not need national team jobs to survive.
Sir Icon4s May have a different perspective but I’m sure he only wants what is best for our national teams. Good suggestions. Anybody who feels at this stage that ignoring the problem or massaging it is the way to go then...I'm sorry. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by iSlayer: 3:17pm On Nov 06, 2019 |
DrLikita12: The NFF is just as guilty as many of our indigenous coaches. When they refuse to pay coaches, smuggle in their own ‘boys’, refuse to release money on time for camping, encourage the rot in our leagues, etc., they are contributing to the problems we are dealing with in our football. Their hands are not clean so they cannot even demand accountability or relieve coaches of their jobs.
All in all, we may have been champions of many things in the past, but that does not mean that other nations will not eventually catch up with us at some point. The fact that we refuse to invest in our league is not helping us, we cannot continue to rely on Europe to develop our talent. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, we must fix our league. Many of these boys seemed to be lacking the basics...there were too many misplaced passes, missed shots, defensive errors, etc. and they are all in academies. If our clubs invest in academies we will probably not be having problems with the basics.
As a country we need to do some serious reflection. There are many issues we need to address but it seems like we are not ready to ask questions. Manu and co should be probed on the issue of bribe taking and player selection, Aigbogun should be sacked, Imama should be replaced but who will do all these things? The same people who cannot deny that they smuggled a top DSS official’s son into camp (the case was dropped btw)? Or the ones who did not release money for camping on time? Thumbs up. Unfortunately, one will never ever see Chief Icons put it straightforward and blunt like this. He'll always play diplomatic with the truth. And talk about having hope blah blah blah. And he thinks this country will move forward. All you said is on point, however as regards that first paragraph, when you have a Foreign coach he will hardly permit all that. Any interference will be met with stiff resistance and he will not allow you dribble him as regards his salary. And if things get to a head he will gently leave the job. Honestly, they're just better organized. Local Coaches will only succeed when they become principled and disciplined enough to QUIT when the NFF or any higher body interferes. |
