At the end of the day you just proved that the absolute dogma of sainthood bestowed on Buhari integrity was false.

Buhari is just another desperate politician seeking to deep his hands in the national treasury for his aggrandizement. Thank you for failing to disprove that simple fact.
When you've finished lying to yourself, eventually, you'll have to tell yourself the truth.

You will surely go broke if you take a single word from a politician like Buhari . . .

He said he wasn't going to contest the 2011 election and that the election will be last. Now what happened afterwards ?
Freshly released from Turai's kitchen, GEJ promised to rule for a single 4yr term. Three weeks after becoming President he tried to kick in motion actions that would enable him become Nigeria's first life President by proposing a single 7yr term for the President. Nigerians refused because this same tactic is what dictators like Biya and Musevini used to keep their people in bondage for 30+yrs. 7YEARS SINGLE TERM TENURE!!!

Ironically, GEJ's first Official state visits--- 2 weeks after becoming President--- were to Paul Biya and Yuweri Musevini of Cameroon and Uganda respectively.

Now lets talk about merit. PDP has absolutely none, APC has some, not much, but enough to lead the way in the proper direction which Nigeria was destined to go before it got derailed the last 40+ years. GEJ did not start the rot but he has continued it. If you really love Nigeria you'll at least admit this claim. I lived in Nigeria a good part of my adult years and believe it or not I love Nigeria and her people. Nigeria would've been a very lovely place to live if not for the simple things that it doesn't have: security, good health care, electricity, water, roads, justice etc Nigeria probably has the best weather anywhere in the world... at least places Ive been. The people are wonderful folks and although sometimes I might come off as harsh or condescending when replying certain annoying elements on here, its all out of love and frustration. In the 70's, we all thought by the "2000s" Nigeria would at least be on par with countries like Malaysia and virtually giving South Korea and co a run for their money. Nobody ever thought Nigeria would be mentioned in the same sentence as Chad and Niger; except of course the topic was soccer.

PDP has brought nothing but destruction to Nigeria, it is still the same cabal and groups that have held Nigeria by the jugular from inception. Nigeria needs to break away free from them. And only Buhari has the guts to go at them. Let me tell you, personally, I think GEJ (even though a bad man in his own right i.e association with shady characters, corrupt politicians, terrorists like Henry Okah, Asari Dokubo, Tompolo etc, toying with the lives of citizens by promoting religious and tribal division etc) still "has a heart"--- when you compare him to other Nigerian Presidents. But the truth is that he is a coward! And a coward does not have any business leading the greatest black nation in the world, PERIOD!!!

GEJ seems to me like the kind of man that acts, realizes his mistakes, then takes steps to correct them. He did this during the fuel subsidy saga, during the banning of Nigeria from all international soccer competitions and also during Chibok scandal, you know what that tells me? He has a heart!

But notice that GEJ only acts hot headed and doesn't seem to listen whenever the issue centers around corruption. Whenever corruption is the topic, GEJ the listener suddenly becomes GEJ the deaf and mute. Not only that, he also seems to lose all sense of reasoning when that subject comes on. Its not that GEJ doesn't know what to do, he does, but he also knows that he cannot really go toe to toe with the worst of the worst financial criminals fleecing the Nigerian Treasury lest they expose him too. You ever heard that little saying "He who comes into equity must come with clean hands."? Yeah, it applies here too, and President Goodluck Jonathan's hands are as dirty and as sticky as they come. He can't beat them, so he joins them. And guess who suffers when everyone---including the President, people close to him, and even his enemies---are stealing Nigeria blind? The Nigerian people including generations unborn.

You guys really need to get it together and forget religious and tribal bias and pick the "cleanest man" amongst you. You don't pick a thief to manage your money. Thats the mistake Nigerians are always making. You always select thieves to manage the money for the Nigerian people. Well, unfortunately, thieves aren't built to manage money, their DNA is engineered to STEAL! So while you're left starving with no jobs and no electricity or good roads, your darling Senators are living in mansions while junketing the world on shopping sprees. When they get a headache they hop on a Private Jet to Germany, the hospitals they built for you is not good enough for them. The doctors are not qualified enough to poke through their bodies, but thats what they saddle you with. Yet, you stand in the hot sun every election to put the very same people that made you miserable in the first place at the helm as your leaders. When will you start demanding what is rightfully yours?!

Let me tell you something that will blow your mind and why I sincerely think Nigerians are weird and a certain section is made up of nothing but sadists:

SINCE INDEPENDENCE, ONLY ONE GOVERNMENT HAS TRULY FOUGHT FOR THE NIGERIAN PEOPLE BY ENSURING THAT EVERY LAST PENNY WAS ACCOUNTED FOR. The duo of Buhari/Idiagbon. No matter what you say about Buhari/Idiagbon regime, they weren't corrupt and did not go about enriching themselves like the IBB gang wanted (which led to them being overthrown).

Nigeria, you know your problem, and you know the solution. Either get right, or get petty and you'll either move with the rest of the developed world, or the rest of the normal world will leave you and your dreams behind.

obailala:
What you have said is true and the PDP would definitely capitalize on the ethnic/tribal card to fight a Fashola candidacy.

But lets examine it this way, imagine Nigerians are presented with a GEJ vs Fashola choice?..

If this scenerio arises, first of all, I can bet my last buck the entire southwest and Lagos would go for Fash.

Secondly, even though the domineering and tribalistic northerners would be greatly disturbed and sickened that APC isn't fielding a northern Hausa-Fulani candidate, I can bet my last buck they would rather have a Fashola meal instead of a Jonathan any day; in fact, they would rather vote a goat instead of Jonathan.

Lastly and most importantly, the Jonathanians of the SE and SS extraction; I can assure you that most of these people do not really like Jonathan and most are actually aware of his incompetence and shortcomings. The support for GEJ is rather due to a hatred for the domineering attitude of the North. While a lot would still remain Jonathanians, I am sure a lot of these people would reconsider their Jonathanian allegiance if they are presented with a non-Hausa-Fulani northerner. Fashola is the only candidate from the APC that can have this effect on the SS/SE
This analysis makes sense, but this election is not about just who the Ibos want, Sorry. It is not about pacifying the South East because of their perceived annoyance at Northerners and Muslims. If Fashola is put forward they will still look for a reason to denounce him. This election is about snatching Nigeria back from the jaws of death which corruption has gripped it. Fashola will make a good President but can he get the votes? Will he be his own man or will he remain a puppet in the hands of certain strong men in the South West? I believe Buhari setting a four year precedence of law, order and accountability will lay down the foundation for the likes of Fashola, Okorocha, Amaechi, Saraki and Co to carry on in the future. Buhari can look any man in Nigeria in the eyes and carry out his duties without fear; Fashola, Okorocha, Amaechi, Saraki and Co still have men in that country in whose eyes they can't look. In. They will cower and lower their gaze when in their presence. Did you see the recent picture of Buhari and Atiku?

Exactly!

The people that have put Nigeria in a choke hold need to be weakened severely for Nigeria to grow. Those men are too young and inexperienced to even think of attempting talk less carry it out. Be realistic and forget all sentiments.

I hate to see Buhari cry 'cos his more than old enough to be my dad but if a royal masquerade chooses to play a game of mud with children, in the end he's going to have a speck of excreta on his royal mask.

What is the assurance that he won't make SS and SE pple suffer (just like he made ekweme suffer in 1983) if he becomes president? No assurance. To now make things worse for them, they are mainly xtians.
When he locked Ekwueme up in 1983, how many other Ibos did he lock up just for being Ibo or Christian? Buhari ruled from December 1983-August 1985--- 20 months--- in that period how many times did his soldiers drive into Ibo villages and locked people up in prisons just because of their tribe? So if he didn't do it when he had absolute power as a Military Head of State, how will he be able to do it when his powers are limited as a Democratic President?

Stop deceiving yourself and be honest to your heart and your God and ask yourself why you really hate Buhari.

Nobody is responsible for your inability to present convincing arguments needed to win the hearts of young electorates.

1. Ask Amaechi and Governors Forum about depleted excess crude account.

2. Nigeria is not a socialist State and I don't see any difference between APC Governors laying huge burden on the citizens of their States to generate revenue (IGR) and the Federal Government who was forced to increase the price of PMS by the 36 Commissioners of various States to help them meet the demand imposed on them by the new minimum wage regime.

Unfulfilled promises? By who? - Federal or State?

Don't forget that the promises where made based on N141.52 per litre and not the renegotiated N97

The subsidy reinvestment programme is being implemented by the FG while 48% of fund is shared by the States and LGAs to pay civil and public servants.

3 Immigration catastrophe is an unintended, unforeseen accident caused by lapses in crowd management procedures put in place by the protocol and logistics contractors. Your attempt on making it a political taking point is dead on arrival.

4. Jonathan on Ekiti State Judiciary? Are you smoking weed or trying to mock Incumbent Governor's attempt to subvert the will of the people through calculated Judicial coup?

When is it the job of a judge to control crowd or his attempt to insult Fayose by commanding him to call unknown personalities to order?

5. Insecurity in the North East?
Is this suppose to be APC presidential campaign promises? Unfortunately Nigerians are no longer buying into it hence your attempt on making it a campaign slogan has fallen like pack of cards

Where does one even start on this baloney. Really I'm shell-shocked.
So some fellas now decipher whatever it is Buhari whispers? Hmm! Buhari better watch out 'cos folks now can tele-decode all behind-the-door convo with your wife or wives.

Let's say these Buhari fans are for real, let's assume GMB is the man for the job for a minute. Now, does that make him God? I ask this because that's implicitly what the author is getting at. I mean check out this insulting line: Buhari is telling you that he is not looking for any personal gains but that he is deeply concerned about you all, especially the downtrodden and that his conviction tells him he has a better idea to make life more abundant for you.

The man of great courage and integrity is telling you he shed tears on your behalf because he is seeing what you are not seeing but that is hurting you and devaluing your essence of living.

I suppose Buhari is now on the same level as our lord and savior, Christ. I give it to Buhari followers, they're dogged and passionate for their man and I must admit that I do not believe that most of them are paid agents. However, what is lost in the midst of their shouts and clamor for the second-coming of Buhari is this: How does Buhari intend to turn around Nigeria? I have never heard any concrete bucketlist or outline on how the general intend to deliver. What I've heard him say is "we will secure Nigeria." Each time I hear him retort this line like a code on an infinite loop I'm left wondering: secure Nigeria from what, from who - unless you mean secure Nigeria from Jihadists and born-to-rule mentality. When he's not speaking his fans go on the offensive on how all criminals are scared straight of GMB's presidency. And I ask which criminals?

Its imperative fellas get a message deep down their skulls. The message is this: The players you and I refer to as criminals are Buhari friends and allies. Buhari is no different, in fact if there's any difference at all it is that those other criminals are not overt religious and ethnic champions. I wasn't even in primary school yet when Buhari was the head of state but I grew up hearing how he cut short a fledgling democracy and opened the gate for IBB to abuse us. Today we hear IBB was corrupt but Buhari wasn't and some of us are left wondering if that line makes sense. How should I absolve Buhari when he was the one that kicked open the box that unleashed IBB on us? He was a dictator that stole our parents' mandate so why is that not corruption? Shouldn't that count for something? As we can see fellas, Buhari is no angel and certainly not our savior so I suggest he wipe his tears and stop worrying about us. Majority of us whose innocence and trusts as children were sacrificed during IBB's evil government that was pre-facilitated by Buhari's misadventure have moved on, so its time the general wiped his tears and stopped worrying about us.

In summary, the general is forgiven but its important that we all remember that Buhari was and is never the savior. He was and still is part of the problem. Let new breeds with modern tools suited for modern societies and economies take over the mantle. Its unproductive to regurgitate the past when the future lies in the front. If Buhari who is part of our past is currently the only savior on the horizon then we might as well go further back to independence or even the period of northern and southern amalgamation and, perhaps, de-amalgamate the union - I mean why stop at 1984 when we can go much deeper for ultimate solution. Folks, with all respect, I believe its time for the general to retire. The time has come for Buhari to work for a less abrasive co-existence of all ethnic and religious groupings.
Hate is real and it ages one, making them look older than they really are.

Get well soon.

Personally, I think it wouldn't hurt to try Buhari. No matter how dictatorial you think he is, know this: he can't go about promulgating and enacting laws just because of how he personally feels about it, no can he turn around and make Nigeria an Islamic Republic. The National Assembly won't allow him, nor would the rest of the country. This is the simple truth and I bet you know it. And even if you deny it with your mouth, you can't deny it with your heart.

Now, if we both agree with the undeniable truths above, I guess we should also agree that Buhari will fight corruption way more aggressively than GEJ. This will free up wasted and stolen money which would then be put towards developing the society.

What is there to dislike about such a man? Forget the propagandas, deal with facts on the ground that any sane and sharp mind can discern in a common sense manner.

Nigeria needs Buhari at this period in its history. The type of President Nigeria choses next year will decide whether Nigeria wants to move with rapid pace and in full force like the rest of the fastest developing countries, or stay stuck in neutral gear whilst occasionally switching into reverse.

Corruption and indiscipline has robbed Nigeria of needed foreign investment and has practically destroyed every facet of its society. Nigeria needs a change, and that change must start at the top.

A turning point in this African dominance came with the fall of Egypt, the great black power of the region, and the eventual rise of a virulent, violent religion - islam. This all led to black populations being driven back into Africa, in various migrations. Many blacks refused to abandon their ancient gods, and were forced to flee. The Yorubas were a good example of this. Much of their historical accounts attest to journeys from the far north, made to protect their Ifa religion from desecration.
So the early Muslim Arabs got to Egypt before the Ancient Greeks, Persians,Assyrians, Romans etc?

$205million should be enough to solve 60-70% of the housing problems in Bayelsa and have the citizens living in dignity.

The funny thing is this building is going to end up costing at least $1+Billion and the maintenance is going to then cost at least another $4-5million a yr. In an environment where their soil has been totally destroyed due to oil spills, illiteracy is super-high and unemployment is astronomical.

He is the one that reports on the military for them.
We even discuss the general from the South West that ran into the bush with a whole division of nigerian army.
Why cant we discuss some one who set army petrol tanker on fire.
Kingsley Omonobi, a man whom I personally know from his days in Washington DC, IS FROM THE IBO ETHNIC GROUP!

I have chided him severally in the past on his stories which are usually tribal and bigoted in nature. But, I guess a man's got to feed his stomach somehow.

By Kingsley Omonobi, Deputy Bureau Chief, Abuja
There were shocking revelations at the weekend that an Army Colonel, some junior officers and soldiers who were taking part in the military offensive to reclaim communities taken over by the Boko Haram terrorists in Adamawa State, have been arrested for sabotage.

Top military sources said that the colonel (a Muslim) who was Commanding a team of three Armoured Personnel Carriers, APC’s, with the capability to fire up to a range of 1.5kilometres or even more, had instead of pursuing the terrorists, deliberately set the APCs on fire between Gulak and Madagali, before running away with his team of soldiers into the bush.
The sources and this phantom Colonel don't have a name? Or are we to just assume that it might just be every Muslim Colonel in the Nigerian Army posted in that area that is the subject in this story of yours?

you said Nigeria needs change and I also agree with you that Nigeria needs change. However Buhari cant bring change to Nigeria because he was part of the Old leaders that has ruled us. Change can only occur if a new and younger leader is elected as president.
GEJ is young, the only change he brought to your country was massive corruption, tribalism, bigotry and mental destruction of the psyche of the people.

i wonder how any sane mind wld use age as a criteria for choosing a leader.
Usually those that say that really despise him because of his tribe and religion but can't openly say that. Similar to racists that used age as the reason why they didn't think Obama should be President but instead tried to say "He's too young and inexperienced" instead of just saying "I don't like him because he's black".
