Am still waiting for your positive suggestions on how GEJ can eliminate corruption that has hindered our military from becoming an independent regional power
He can start by not being corrupt himself. If he leads by example the rest of the country has no choice but to adhere to his set standards.

Vessi: By then we would be a manufacturing country. I'm sure you read the topic on frontpage saying 22 vehicle manufacturing companies are about establishing manufacturing plans in Nigeria, by then Nigeria would be vehicle exporter. With GEJ in power, agriculture is improving, same as aviation and transport sector. By the time the Chinese get fed up with oil(which is still decades away), we would have had a robust and diversed economy with GEJ on track, that's why we should keep supporting GEJ to see it through.
Have you ever read Animal Farm? I'll advise you to read it. I bet you'll see yourself and the sheep in the book as one when you do.

Xetima: US is envious of Nigeria's rising profile in international circle especially in Africa. What is happening is that they expected Nigeria to crumble under political crisis, insurgency and recently the Ebola crisis. All these have failed. Their biggest grouse is our refusal to accept gay and lesbian rights law, refusal to allow them to establish military bases in Nigeria and our relationship with Russia and China.

Though 'children' in the opposition party see GEJ as not performing but I see this man as laying a sound foundation for Nigeria. People are shouting that they are yet to see the benefits of the power sector reforms in just a few months. They forget that after GSM was introduced in 2001, it took about three years before most Nigerians could afford it. Infact it was the coming in of Glo that made it possible to have per second billing. Yet we want the positive impact of the power reforms in a few months because GEJ handled the privatization.

Talking of power sector reforms, this administration deserves to be commended because in 8 years OBJ only talked about it but could not do anything. Our president does not know how to blow his trumpets like the Fasholas, the Amaechis and Okorochas of this world otherwise, that achievement (power sector reforms) had remained a recurring decimal with successive administrations with no hope.

With the power sector fixed and electoral reforms fully entrenched, our GDP growing at average of 6% - 8% annually, Nigeria would be a model for Africa and the developing world.

My earnest prayer is that the 2015 elections would be trouble free, with the opposition accepting defeat and congratulating GEJ after Jega declares GEJ the winner in the early hours of February 16, 2014. Then the government would focus on creating employment for Nigerians in agriculture and other sectors. Nigeria would become a destination for the Americans. This is our time, our dream and our destiny.

God bless THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA!!
God bless our President!!!
Your first paragraph rubbished the rest of your post which is also rubbish, by the way. But the first paragraph is the biggest rubbish I have read in months.

JayKayMaybachz: 2 October 2014 , By Chika Izuora with Agency
Report, Source: Leadership
The search for alternative energy by the Barack
Obama administration in the United States of
America (USA) has begun to take a toll on
Nigeria's crude oil export as the US for the first
time failed to import a single barrel of crude oil
from Nigeria.
This troubling scenario experienced in the month
of July, according to industry watchers, may spell
doom for the Nigerian economy.
Obama's vigorous search for alternative energy
to drive the world's largest economy poses
grave dangers for Nigeria whose economy is
highly dependent on revenue from oil.
Nigeria used to be the fifth largest exporter of
crude oil to the US.
However, experts said despite declining revenue,
depleting foreign reserves and pressure on the
exchange rate, Nigerian economy remained
"robust enough to withstand the shock waves
hitting the economy."
While US crude imports rose by 569,000 barrels
per day in July, imports of Nigerian crude fell to
zero for the first time.
Data obtained from the US Energy Information
Administration during the week showed that US
imports rose to 7.623 million bpd up from 7.054
mbpd in June.
Despite being at their highest since December
2013, imports are down from 8.058 mbpd in the
same month a year ago.
Imports from Nigeria fell to zero in July, down
from 89,000 bpd in June, all of which had gone
to the US Atlantic Coast.
Nigeria had remained remarkably upbeat despite
lower-than-expected revenues, low foreign
investment and a weak infrastructure base.
While President Goodluck Jonathan has rolled out
a slew of robust, but seemingly disjointed plans
in several sectors of the economy, his
government has failed to articulate a stimulus
package to deal with the current public revenue
crisis and record unemployment, or to weld the
plans into a coherent whole.
Reports indicated that before now, the US has
reduced crude imports from Nigeria by 91 per
cent, putting the country's crude exports in
disarray.
The US, which was hitherto the biggest importer
of crude from Nigeria with over one million
barrels per day, early this year imported an
average of 100, 000 bpd till June 2014.
Data obtained from the Nigerian National
Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) revealed that by
the end of last year, the US dropped to the 10th
highest importer of Nigeria's crude, with 1.438
million barrels.
Specifically, Nigeria exported 1.438 million barrels
of crude oil to North America by December 2013,
down by 15.111 million barrels in December 2012.
Obviously, Nigeria has started witnessing the
negative effect of shale oil exploration in the US
and other parts of the world. Prior to July, the
country's crude oil export to North America had
dropped by 91.31 per cent in one year.
North America accounted for 22.19 per cent of
Nigeria's total crude export by December 2012,
but it dropped to 2.23 per cent by December
2013.
According to an NNPC report, "Prior to the decline,
the US was the highest buyer of Nigeria's crude,
purchasing 14.279 million barrels in December
2012, thereby accounting for 19.15 per cent of
Nigeria's total crude export and 86.28 per cent of
total crude export to North America. By 2013 end,
the US dropped to the 10th highest importer of
Nigeria's crude.
The NNPC report stated that by December 2013,
Europe was the highest importer of Nigeria's
crude, accounting for 47 per cent of Nigeria's
total export, followed by Asia and Far East,
accounting for 26 per cent, while Africa
accounted for 12 per cent.
The report stated that South America accounted
for 10 per cent of Nigeria's total crude export,
while Oceania/Pacific and North America
accounted for three per cent and two per cent
respectively.
Also, India emerged the highest importer of
Nigeria's crude in December 2013, with 13.086
million barrels, followed by the Netherlands with
9.866 million barrels, and France 4.497 million
barrels.
Nigeria exported 4.869 million barrels of crude to
Brazil in the period under review, 4.6 million
barrels to Spain and 3.895 million barrels to
South Africa.
Nigeria, Africa's biggest crude exporter, depends
largely on crude proceeds to service over 85 per
cent of its budget.
The present scenario, no doubt, compels
President Jonathan and his economic team to roll
up their sleeves and come up with a way out for
the country's economy.

Afroconnect: A fellow Nairalander shared this, pls let's copy, paste and post/share till justice is served.

A noble man can not stand to look away when injustice iis being served-do something.

The Gruesome murder of my senior brother – Mr odion AIMEYEKAGBON by a Royalty ON THURSDAY 11TH SEPTEMBER, 2014

I want to report the deliberate and gruesome murder of my senior brother - Mr. odion Aimeyekagbon to NairaLanders. He is an employee of REAL STRIKER Security Company based in Oregun road, opposite Alausa bus stop, Ikeja, Lagos.

On Thursday 11th September, 2014 at about 6pm, a man (name yet to be confirmed) who is well known in the community of Ikosi, a relation of the Bale of Ikosi ,drove his car to the main gate of Folawiyo GRA in Ikosi road, beside MR. BIG’s restaurant. my brother who is a security guard on duty with one of his colleagues demanded for gate pass from this man, the man did not have a gate pass, and there is a standing order by the Resident Association of Folawiyo GRA that anyone without a gate pass should not be allowed to pass through the gate.

This man, the murderer! Was not comfortable with the demand from my brother and his colleague, probably because he is the son or brother of the Bale of Ikosi, or because he is an influential man in the community, he felt my brother has embarrassed and insulted him. After much argument and intervention by passers-by, he was allowed to pass the main gate without proper clearance or presentation of gate pass.
Instead of this man to go peacefully, no! He picked his mobile phone and called thugs and “Area Boys”. These hoodlums came with knives and other weapons to beat up my brother and his colleague on duty.

the other guard was lucky to had ran away with injuries inflicted on him, but unfortunately, after severe beating and stabbing, my brother died on the spot at the main gate of Folawiyo GRA where is duty post was.

the painful part is that, we have not been able to see the corpse of my late brother. the police only showed us the pictures of the mutilated and blood cover corpse taken at the crime scene. When we demanded that they should take us to the mortuary at Ikorodu where the police deposited the corpse, the IPO in charge of the case refuses to take us there, except we give him five thousand naira (N5,000) – CAN YOU IMAGINE THAT! Five thousand naira to see the corpse of our murdered brother!

As at the time of writing, the police have not been able to make a single arrest. They only went to arrest innocent members of the community, and later collected money from their relations to bail them.

From the information we gathered ourselves from the crime scene, the murderer is a well known man in the community. The police are telling us that they want the murderer to report himself to the police station.
The company where my brother worked before he died is not helping matters, all they keep telling us is that they are capable of burying my brother whenever we are ready. They claimed that they have capable lawyers, but they have not done anything as regard arresting this murderer.

I earnestly want to plead with Nairalanders to help us in any way they can, especially in sharing and broadcasting this gross injustice that had be perpetrated by a so called ROYALTY of IKOSI.

Just like my late brother, I am a law-abiding citizen of this country. I do not want to take law into my hands. Please brethren, the only way to fight this injustice is by crying out to all of you and to God Almighty to hear my plight.

YES! our brother is dead, he can not be brought back to life, but we do not want this man to just go free without paying for the innocent blood he has shed.

I also want to beg good-spirited Nigerians or lawyers to help us out, because from all indications, the POLICE want to sweep this murder case under the carpet. REAL STRIKER security company is not helping us either, it appeals they are collaborating with the police to cover up this injustice.

Below is my email address. Due to security reasons, I did not post my phone numbers, please drop you number here and I will call you back with a PRIVATE NUMBER to discuses further. You can also send me a mail.

Thank you all for your anticipated assistance.

Sorry to hear about your loss, accept my condolence. In the 21st century the Nigerian police should not be resorting to such crude and uninnovative methods of policing nor should Thugs be allowed to mobilize in groups and brandish weapons without fear, but, hey, in a society where corruption is the order of the day...

obongproff: Fighting poverty is more important dan fighting corruption. D only economic benefit of fighting corruption is minimising wastes but it doesnt create more wealth. What we nid is creation of more wealth with even distribution not just minimising wastes.
Poor, poor, little ignorant African boy, you.

Where do I even start with this?

Boy, corruption destroys every facet of your economy. It destroys your society from the top down. First of all, erase that thought of "what we need is even distribution of wealth"; how the hell do you expect that to happen when a few people have cornered all the monies meant for the country for themselves? Oh, you think they'll suddenly feel bad for yall and start handing out free money one day?

When the President and his cronies seek/accept bribes from foreign companies before being allowed to invest in Nigeria, those countries will in turn try to recoup their money by billing Nigerians outrageously while also providing shoddy services to the citizenry without any fear of reprimand because they know nothing will happen as the Chief Law enforcement officer of the country has already been compromised.

You have to bribe Doctors, Lawyers, Judges, Cops, Teachers, Soldiers, Governors, Ministers, Civil Servants, Government officials, Private workers, Public Workers, Miscreants...basically, every facet of society, to perform their duty without seeking monetary inducement. Does this sound like a normal society to you? Or does it sound like a place where development will come to even in 200yrs?

You can keep making up every excuse you want as to why Buhari should not be President(most likely) because of your self prejudice and hate, but I'll tell you this : OBJ, Yar Adua, now GEJ... gahead and retain Jonathan or replace him with another criminal if you wish, but your country will never develop and the poor will never see salvation if corruption is not fully addressed and tackled aggressively.

Most of you look at corruption as a way of life and are OK with it and that, I guess, is what baffles the rest of the sane world.
Politics › Re: Who Is Afraid Of Buhari? by ISpiksDaTroof: 10:05am On Oct 02, 2014
obongproff: Well, I may not be smart to u but dats none of my business.

U see, being a president for Buhari has two major options:
(a) Fight corruption for 4yrs and afta 4yrs our GDP remains $590b or we just manage hit $600b.

(b) Create over 2 million jobs in 4yrs and our GDP rises to like $800b while our GDP per capital income increases also. Unfortunately, he can only achieve d first one becos d general sed if we vote for him he will fight corruption and secure nigeria...cos he has no idea on how to improve nigeria.

Fighting poverty is more important dan fighting corruption. D only economic benefit of fighting corruption is minimising wastes but it doesnt create more wealth. What we nid is creation of more wealth with even distribution not just minimising wastes.

Buhari does not hav sound economic or technical ideas. He's like d strict maths teacher who disciplines his students but more dan 90% of his students cant get above a C in maths. But den der is a rascal teacher, who has even been accused of abusing one of his students. He may be a rascal but all his students love maths and are doing well, none of his students can fail a maths test and many of his students score more dan a C in maths on a regular basis. In fact if his students had a competition with d students or Mr. Discipline day wd beat dem hands down. Now who is a beta maths teacher between dis two? Mr. Rascal or Mr. Discipline? Now of wot use is disciplining a student when u cant make d student get beta grades?

Assuming der are two people vying for a managerial position in my firm. Mr. A is good at reducing running costs cos he believes company can make more money by spending less. And Mr. B is good at meeting targets and making huge profits for d company. But he believes in promo, promo, promo which involves partying and a lot of spending. Who do u think I wd employ? If u tot I wd employ Mr. A sori ur stupid. Its Mr. B all d way! Let him spend more money so long as d company makes much more in return.

Buhari is Mr. Discipline and dat makes him stand out. But to me discipline without overall improvement is bullshit. When Buhari comes up with an idea to create at least 1 million jobs, den I can endorse him but till den he can take his old Mr. Discipline
ass and go hug kainji dam. cheesy

If I was d president of dis nation, I will make Buhari the director general and national overall chairman, and ceo of ICPC and EFCC plus Minister of Defence. Dat way he can focus on fighting corruption and securing naija while I focus on creating more jobs. cheesy
And who told you GEJ is the reason why the rebased GDP is higher? How has the high GDP affected you and 75% of the unemployed workforce? Or you don't know what 75% of a 100% is? Oh, You didn't see the news when 3,000 jobs were available in Immigration and stadiums all over the country were filled to the brim as if Brazil was playing England in a world cup final? Ah, I get you now, you need Buhari to tell you his plan on how he intends to create jobs so Gej can steal his ideas and claim it as his own?

And, see that silly analogy you made about Mr.A and Mr.B? Well,in case you don't understand why we're all complaining; no money is being spent on jackshiyyyyt investments unlike your claim--- most of the money is stolen from the people and either ends up in private bedrooms, offshore accounts, or on Private Jets owned by the Chief pastor of the country. For example, when they budget $100million for road construction and $90million of that amount is stolen by the politicians and ends up in Cyprus, Cayman Islands and South Africa is that development to you because that's what happens in your country every freaking day!

Fighting poverty is more important than fighting corruption?! You will never stop fighting poverty in a place where corruption is endemic like Nigeria.

Finally, as to your "Mr. Rascal the abusive but smart teacher" analogy. Well, sir, if a person is abusive then he has no reason being around kids talk less of 'mentoring' them. But I bet it'd take me 10yrs to explain to you why abuse (physical or mental) is something to be seriously frowned upon.

Personally, I nid a president dat can create at least 1 million jobs in 4yrs and also improve d economy and reduce poverty. I dont nid a leader dat will waste 4yrs in arresting corrupt leaders. So NO, I will not vote for buhari becos he cant take us forward.

Fashola, Tambuwal, Oshiomele, dose are men with ideas for today's Nigeria.

To me, buhari is expired cargo dat is blinded by old glory. Voting for buhari is like asking maradonna to coach super eagles. Old glory sucks! cheesy
Sadly, you're obviously not very smart. I'll tell you why.

Say,when you were in the Third Grade you had a problem with Multiplication, but 25yrs later you run into your old maths and he automatically assumes---without even giving you a chance to try to erase his doubt---that because you didn't know what 2x2 was as a 8yr old, that you probably still don't know the right answer now that you're in your 30s. Does that sound smart to you because that's exactly how you sound when you say "I don't think Buhari has any 21st century idea".

You judge a man based on his history, that's how you know what he will do in the future. If a man was a criminal in the past, chances are more than likely he will continue being a criminal. If a woman was upstanding in the past, the chances are very high that she'll continue with that character into the future. Leopards can't change their spots, and you can't turn a ho into a housewife. Same way chances are more than high that GEJ, Alams, Bode George, Buruji Kashamu, Lucky IGbendion, Andy Uba and Co will continue stealing everything that belongs to you while men like Buhari will sit on the sidelines hoping one day you people will open your eyes.

If you don't have old glory, then you have nothing to stand on.

IF Fashola gets the blessing of Buhari and some northern elites, I See him winning the north. Also Fashola can run with the governor of Kano ( the most populous state in the north). The reason GEJ won the 2011 election is because of the votes he got from the west. APC should field a popular candidate if they are really serious about winning the presidential election

Raiders: APC should not allow Atiku and buhari represent their party. Buhari has lost the last 3 elections ( I wonder why he still want to contest ) and Atiku has lost 2 elections. APC should field a popular candidate that can win election. Atiku and Buhari don't stand a chance against GEJ
Personally, I think both men will perform better than GEJ if in his position but for different reasons.

Atiku is astute and very intelligent. But he's a crook. For that I don't like him. I worked in Govt. Atikus files both in the U.S and Nigeria are a mile high. You don't want someone like that close to the treasury of a country like Nigeria, he will tear it apart and gnaw at its bones. He's too greedy. And thats why Obasanjo hated him. To let you know how insatiable Atikus greed is; his tentacles spread so long that a very respected United States Congressman is currently serving 13 years in Federal Prison after being linked to a bribery scandal involving him and Atiku. Louisiana's first black congressman since the end of Reconstruction, got his life destroyed for coming close to Atiku. I wish Nigerians could see men like Atiku for who they really are. In normal countries people like Atiku wouldn't even aspire to be "Chief garbage eater" because people won't find him credible enough to even eat their trash.

Buhari has "lost" thrice, true, but remember that two of those elections were very questionable. So questionable that even the winner of one of the elections, after being sworn in as President, admitted that the "elections" which brought him into power, was severely flawed and had been rigged in his favor. But, hey, it's Nigeria we're talking about.

I believe that Buhari is electable. Nigeria, in the end, still plays tribal politics. The North is aggrieved, the South West also feels left out. Added to this is also the fact that South Westerners are angry that it's brightest minds are left out of Govt while Gej openly cavorts with the criminals in its midst. I.e Buruji Kashamu.

I believe if a man like Fashola should run with Buhari then it's over for GEJ. Attempts at Religious divide and attempts at spreading Islamophobia, I think, will not sway the Yorubas.

This is time for serious negotiations. If Buhari agrees to rule for one term(hes old anyway) and pass the baton to the younger generation (Fashola, Oshiomole, Okorocha, Amaechi, Sam Ndiah etc) then I think it's a go, the party should make him their consensus candidate.

I just don't want to see Atiku anywhere close to the Nigerian Treasury. Nigeria needs to be set on the right path and it can only really start developing by first fighting corruption, AGGRESSIVELY. A newbie like Fashola won't dare do it. He can't even look Tinubu in the face, you think he is going to go against those old gangstas in the North?! It's obvious you kids don't know your country at all. Buhari can look them in the face and call their bluff because they have nothing against him linking him to corrupt practices.

Buhari can do major cleanup of corruption in 4yrs while Fashola supervises the Economy. It's a winning duo if you ask me.

koning: I am dead seriuos about the security issue. The girls and Boko Haram is a one off incident. Besides, how many people died at the World Trade Center( 9/11). Not to mention the School shootings in the US and Knife stabbings in S.E. London. I'm guessing you live in Lagos, which is supposedly our most insecure city. Have you noticed how dead Lagos is after 10pm. The only places you will find people roaming around are the busy market centres like Ikeja under bridge, Ojota, Obalende etc. Most residential areas in Lagos are virtually empty after 09.30pm. Nigerians value life. There is still that sanctity for human life.
In the West someone can just waste your life for something that does not concern you. Lots of random, senseless killings. Sorry, i consider Nigeria safer. I am talking out of experience.
ROFLMAO what cheap drugs are you on?

chibwike: Wat and wat did he do
Well, you'll have to do more reading on your own. Try to read about the Govts before Buhari and the Govts after, then compare fairly and you'll see why he's probably the best Leader Nigeria ever had. But I'll tell you a little bit.

Before Buhari, Nigeria experimented with Democracy again after 13yrs of Military rule. One coup after another, plus a civil war and Nigeria between 1960-1976 was pretty much like Nigeria of today.

In 1979 Gen. Olusegun Obasanjo handed over to Shehu Shangri to flag off the start of the Second Republic.

Just like the present Goodluck Jonathan Govt, former Military officers still held sway and called the shots in Shagari's Govt. A lot of them were corrupt beneficiaries of previous Govts and had enriched themselves while in office. They had a lot of civilian accomplices too, and together they raided the Treasury and diverted public funds to their private accounts. The people were getting poorer and the politicians while getting Richer.

Under Shagari's Govt Nigeria's debt profile grew. There were verifiable stories of rampant corruption. Just like GEJ's Govt, theft of Govt funds was brazen and nobody was scared to commit crimes, nothing worked, salaries weren't getting paid etc; society was starting to break down again.

On New Years Eve, 1983, a group of soldiers--- upset at the direction the country was taking--- took over Government and installed their Snr.Officer as the New Head of State of Nigeria. Buhari was known as a disciplined incorruptible person. If N10 was budgeted for something, then N10 was what what'd going to be used. The cost wasn't just going to suddenly balloon to N10billion nor would the N10 just develop feet and disappear from Govt accounts.

The first thing Buhari did was pay off all the foreign loans which Shagari's Govt (and other previous Govts) had amassed and which prevented Nigeria from developing.

Buhari tried to instill a culture of discipline, punctuality and ordeliness--- the foundation of every successful society--- into the Nigerian psyche.

Do not believe all these stories you hear about him. Read about him. I was opportune to meet him quite a bit (even whilst he was Governor of Old Gongola State) and I can tell you that 99% of the negative things you hear about him in the press are nothing but lies. He is a very humble and secular, quiet and soft spoken man. He believes strongly in his faith. He is a practicing Muslim, yes, but he is nothing close to the extremist some wicked people paint him to be. He has the best intentions for your country. The people that tell malicious lies against Buhari are those that want the Status Quo to continue. The corrupt people. The destroyers of your society. Those that want to ensure you stay home from school because teachers are on strike over unpaid salaries while their own kids attend the best schools in England and America, their school fees paid for by the stolen salaries of the teachers in Nigeria.

What do you think is the fastest way Nigeria will develop? Imagine to yourself how developed Nigeria would be if all these monies being stolen everyday by GEJ'S Govt is put to use building better roads, better schools, quality hospitals etc instead of ending up in South Africa on a Private Jet or in someone's Abuja bedroom.

Please go read about Buhari and you'll see why it's in the best interest of your future to try him as President.

princetunex: And I hope APC doesn't win. I'm no PDP member or fan. But I fear that there might be an agenda to 'islamize' Nigeria. Just mai feelings though.
How, like they're going to come in your house on Fridays and order you to go to the Mosque or what?

Truckpusher: Keep deceiving yourselves but sooner or later reality will look you in the face.

An 18yr old that graduated from high school that works in a car lot earning $7000 in 2 - 3 months and you wrapped up your super stewpidity by saying "maybe even in a week if he gets the right commission". grin
And other white folks are flying in here to work one month in one month out risking their lives and their marriages.
Did I tell you I lost a colleague that came to Nigeria all for the money in Malaysian airline MH 17 that was shot down over Ukrainian airspace purportedly by the Russian backed rebels.
Oya continue lying sha - it sure does help your ego and permanent self slavery.
Lmao......you think you're talking to some bunch of folks ? cheesy

Which country abeg make I go tell these French and Houston boys dem wey dey here dey take our brothers dem job say work dey their land jabrata. cheesy
You really want to compare numbers of how many Americans go into Nigeria?! Are you for real?! I don't get your point. I lived a good part of my adult life in Nigeria because I was posted there and I'm telling you that your country is simply not fit to be inhabited by humans. This may sound harsh but it's the truth. The country is disorganized and needs a total reorganization from the top down. Even with all the comforts the U.S tried to provide for us in your country, life was still very stressful. My job meant I had to mix with the locals a lot so I got to see firsthand how difficult life is. Let me tell you how bad it is: one of my daughters never wants to go back there! She says those were the most miserable years of her life. Most of the things she took for granted were luxuries in Nigeria. Basic living amenities; Water, Electricity, Security, Job, affordable housing, Good roads, functioning public transportation, health care etc are not available to the populace and guess what? It adds to the stress level of the people. Do you notice how aggressive the average Nigerian is? They're always screaming, even on TV. Always angry. There's always fights on the streets. Notice even the animals are very aggressive. You can't pet a strange dog in Nigeria, it'll maul you!!! It's the society. That's all were saying. Even the animals are stressed.

The mistake most of you are making is that you're equating simple, easy, stress free living with wealth. That is always your comeback; MONEY! "...Well I can make N5gazillion doing this and that, while you'll be washing toilets in Dublin".

I guess it's hard to explain some things to someone that has never experienced them. You can have all the money in the world and still be poor as hell. If you don't have peace of mind you don't have anything. And Nigeria simply does not provide peace of mind. You will adapt, yes, but it will take a toll on your health.

mrmetoo1: LOL! I'm glad you edited it. Just the way an 18yr old makes that in 3 months is also the way a full grown man with a family earns that also. Don't make it sound like that salary is exclusive to 18yr old high school students. As a matter of fact a lot of university graduates make that in the time period you mentioned.
Yes, I edited it because I thought she wrote N80,000... so what's tickling your balls again?

The point is an 18yr old can't dream of making that in Nigeria. Heck, 99% of the working population can't dream of making anything close to that, so what's your point?

maternal: Europe is getting tougher, but its still better pass naija. I feel North America is more stable. Either way your cousins seem like failures, incompetent or both. Whatever their irrational reason was to come to naija and work, nobody is buying because its better. Stop insulting our intelligence. Now to address the stereotypical "Washing dishes" again. In Canada for example, there are minimal but good paying jobs where you need little to no education to do. Driving public transit for example starts you at a minimum of 65k to 100k dollars per year. With good benefits and a government pension. All you need is a drivers license and be over 18. Police officers here start at 80k and reach 100k annually within 3 years. Again all you have to be is over 18 and have a high school education with no criminal conviction. An ordinary mail man here pulls in 60k a year or more with overtime. So if you're in naija and have finished secondary school, the least you can do here is get these minimal jobs which pays well. If you come here when you're young and have higher ambition, the sky is the limit. Nobody "washes dishes" here. You'd have to be an idiot to come here and start washing dishes.
A lot of these loser kids that come on here to discourage others not to flee that hell hole are usually those who wished they could leave, but have no way of doing so.
