Politics / Re: Update On Second Niger Bridge: FG Reviews Cost Of Project by Italiano1: 11:18am On Dec 27, 2013 |
Insincere 9gerian, you need to up your game; your performance is depleting on a daily basis. You are just waffling and taking people for fools. What is so complicated in the construction of a bridge using a PPP framework? Has the government advertised this contract publicly or is Julius Berger their preferred supplier for obvious reasons? You keep chatting rubbish about other projects, what a redundant and nonsensical retort! With all the so called intelligent people in the GEJ administration , many of whom claim to have PhDs - no one has taken the time to conduct a comparative analysis of similar projects elsewhere or examine templates used for successful PPP/PPF initiatives of similar nature? Have you ever heard of a competitive procurement dialogue system? It is clear that the delay is due to the lack of political will and the intentional use of that bridge as a political carrot for the people of Alaigbo. It is indeed shameful that it is the same people who are being shortchanged that are defending the acts of a wicked government because of crumbs of bread they give them- they are ready to mortgage the future of their children because of a plate of Jollof rice. SHAME! Sincere 9gerian: 11 Likes |

cramjones: One more thing...No one should direct me to any link again on GEJ's achievements...If you can't think of any achievement from the top of your head but need me to read where it was written, it simply means he has achieved nothing. We don't need paper achievements. I'm I fair to say that? This is what I have been trying to explain to these folks! There is no need for a show and tell story here; if Jonathan is performing and his so called "Fresh Air" has been ubiquitously felt by Nigerians, then there would be absolutely no need to have a thread to explain his achievements to the generality of Nigerians. The so called achievements is awash with totally insignificant projects such as the "creation of Universities" in states where the literacy rates are less than 5-15%, one would wonder or envisage that the FG would concentrate of focusing on providing basic educational facilities instead? A reoccurring theme with all the so called achievements by the Jonathan administration comes with terms such as "ONGOING" rehabilitation and remodeling of existing infrastructures in the country- what a shame! They keep coming in their droves to cast aspersion on opposition parties but they are speechless when questions are asked on how the GEJ administration is dealing with and tackling "CORRUPTION"- the usual retort is to propagandize and make up phony and unsubstantiated allegations. My questions to them are: 1. Why did Jonathan grant pardon to and released Alamieyeseigha, an ex Governor who was tired and convicted by the law courts for corruption? 2. Why is Stela Oduah still in office? 3. Jonathan said in his last Presidential chat that the issue of corruption is largely exaggerated in Nigeria- is this true? 5 Likes |

[quote author=PAGAN 9JA] WHY DONT YOU TAKE JONATHANS PLACE? What a question! Jonathan has a mandate from Nigerians to lead the country, rather than do his job, he has resorted to school boy politics and his performance has been abysmally shameful INSTEAD OF SITTING HERE AND COMMENTING LIKE A BOSS - DO THIS, SHOULDVE DONE THAT. Boss? No!! As a Nigerian, I have every right to comment and question the actions of a grossly under-performing President. This is how it works in a "democratic and sane clime". This is the Politics Section and every poster is allowed to voice their support or opposition of every political action- obviously within the confines of the rules of NL, if you cannot appreciate or comprehend that, then you should stick to your consistent castigation of mainstream religions on NL. 3 Likes |

Another idio.tic attempt by this under-performing Jonathan in bamboozling impressionable Nigerians. This is a class act of playing to the gallery! How many Nigerian workers go through similar injustices from their employers? A civil servant was suspended for having the effrontery to criticize Madam Fat Ngozie some weeks ago and yet this ridiculously led administration is engaging in a typical face-saving and shambolic exercise of pretending to care about Nigerian workers. Jonathan can start by educating Nigerians on any Employee Protection Framework his government has formulated and put in place and even more importantly how they are being implemented for the benefit of Nigerians. 7 Likes |

[quote author=jmaine] Concerning Fashola rating in Lagos, sentiments on ground shows, even though it is not conclusive unless a poll is conducted. I asked for evidence and not sentiments, what you have just said is totally inconsequential and irrelevant! Why would you make a such a categorical statement such as-" Fashola second term rating has dropped among Lagosians" if you have no basis or evidence to make such a bold statement? Ondo, what verifiable proof do i have than the fact that Fashola performance was referenced a lot and he(Fashola) also gave speeches to garner support for the ACN. But the ACN still came third after the PDP. This is another example of obfuscation and a deliberate attempt at winning an argument by providing false information! This is what you said- and the Ondo State electorates did not take the ACN Fashola referencing to heart. A reason why the PDP even performed better than the ACN. Can you provide any evidence to suggest that Fashola's involvement in the campaign led to PDP performing better than ACN? 2 Likes |

Politics / Re: President Jonathan's Christmas Message To The Nation. by Italiano1: 11:10am On Dec 25, 2013 |
Mr Jonathan, Many thanks for your Christmas wishes and I wish you the same. However, don't you think you are patronizing your so called "Compatriots" by wishing them a joyful Christmas? As the President of the nation, surely you must have the facts and statistics on the living conditions of the "common man" in the country you are leading; I would wager that you have not familiarized yourself with the realities on ground, hence why you have the audacity to write a meaningless Christmas message as if that would appease your "compatriots" and change their unfortunate situations. I will give you a brief summary of the challenges that most Nigerians face for your perusal and maybe you can appreciate the extent of your failure as a leader: 1. The current official inflation rate in Nigeria is circa 13% at (2012) estimates 2. The current national unemployment rate stands at 24% and it becomes very worrying when you consider that the Youth unemployment rate is an estimated 38% 3. An estimated 55% of Nigerians live below the poverty line (the accepted threshold is put at $1.25 dollars a day- which translates to just under 200 naira a day) 200 Naira is about the price of buying Gala and a can/bottle of Coke in most shops. 4. Nigerian students have not attended Classes in higher institutions since July 2013 because of your gross ineptitude and maladministration of the educational sector. 5. Your government increased the price of Fuel in 2012 by over 100% and you claimed that it was meant to make the prices more competitive and rid the industry of cartels who profit from lower prices in an Oil producing country. Incidentally, racketeering and smuggling have geometrically increased since you imposed this increase on your compatriots. Out of your so called "magnanimity" you set up bogus "palliative" instruments to alleviate the effects of your actions- this has turned out to be another charade. It is absolutely disingenuous of you to wish Nigerians a good Christmas when it is obvious that you know that the average citizen is facing untold hardship and can hardly make ends meet. Your usual retort would be that you met the country in a bad state which to some extent is correct, however, can you look yourself in the mirror and say that Nigerians are better off since you assumed office? Of course not! Corruption under your watch has skyrocketed and the most pathetic part is that you do not consider it a problem- well going by your shocking comments during the last Presidential chat where you indicated that Corruption is over exaggerated in Nigeria- what a ridiculous statement! Your subordinates and political associates are busy enriching themselves at the expense of Nigerians while you are busy deceiving Nigerians. Your wife and yourself seek medical treatment outside the shores of this country at the expense of Nigerians while you have not facilitated any viable and practical provision of basic health care for your "compatriots" . Jonathan, you have no right to wish Nigerians a good Christmas because you do not mean it and your actions as President has definitely not reflected those wishes. Mr Jonathan, please keep the nonsensical and hypocritical Christmas wishes to yourself and stop patronizing Nigerians- you do not care about them. 12 Likes |
