Nigerians are watching with interest the hypocrisy, primordialism and tribalism emanating from the east of the country. Ibos have publicly defended a blatantly corrupt national minister just because she shares their ethnicity but spend all their time vilifying governors of states that are hundreds of kilometers from their region. They are content with and endorse an election that was full of irregularities as long as the outcome did not favour the contestant from the ofen.manu party dominated by Awolowo supporters. The current president has got almost 100% approval rating in alaibo because he painted Enugu airport and called it international, they rejoice because he sent an assistant special assistant who is an ibo man to tell ibos that they are the most important tribe to him. Ibos should appreciate Ibo politicians like Igbokwe who are able to see through the charade and know that the outcome would only be a disastrous one for Ndibo. I am really interested in how the current strategy of creating enemies in the North and the west will pan out. 12 Likes |

Subjective comment. Every administration should be judged on its own merits; even the founders of the American democracy all came from a military background, General J.J. Rawlings laid the foundation for the transformation we see in Ghana today. Nigeria has been under democratic governance since 1999, what has changed? Elections are still rigged with impunity, there is no freedom of the press, corrupt administrators, ministers are still in office and are not brought to account- in fact there has been a geometric increase in corruption at all levels of government, electricity provision has not improved, ASUU is still on strike etc etc -essentially Nigeria is still experiencing the same problems that it had under military rule. I will support any leader that has the vision and a mission to make Nigeria a better country- military or politician 5 Likes |

dayokanu: ^^ The average UK family has student loans for both couple and in the US I have friends who pay as much as $1,00 per month Dayo it is different in the UK, fees for University education was heavily subsidized for Home students till 2010 when the Cameron Government increased it. Despite the increase, it is no where near the fees that US students have to pay to attend Universities. |

Jonathan, you are the architect of your own destiny. You have ravaged your biological system because of your voracious appetite for the Creek liquor, you have to live with it. The disappointing part is that you keep disgracing this nation everywhere you go, you were too drunk to address the AU summit last year and now you got so hammered that you had to be rushed to the A&E because of your lack of self control. You are a disgrace to Nigeria, you are not fit to rule this country. 1 Like |

nwanna89: Theres something I have always been wondering. What if Amaechi is working secretly for Jonathan to help divide the northern governors to make 2015 easier for Jona to win. Keep wondering Sister! Unfortunately Nigerian Politicians are not as calculating and smart as you think. Nigerian Politics revolves around three key variables and it is utilised by 98% of our politicians- a) A crude and voracious appetite to enrich themselves b) Undemocratic attempts to achieve power and stay in power at all costs. c) The elimination of all opposing attempts to achieve (a) and (b) I can assure you that Rotimi is not wishing GEJ a safe return to Nigeria. 1 Like |

redsun: I just met a nigeria politician's son that can't manage to live on twenty thousand pounds a month in england. He thinks it is a chicken feed,he is not working, not even going to schools. All he does is spends his money on women, booze, drugs and some of his nigerian otimpkus that hangs around him. My friend, can you stop propagating these lies on NL, what exactly are you trying to achieve? Just a few days ago- on the 13th of November, you said that the politician's son could not "manage" £10,000 monthly, now it has magically turned to £20,000 monthly? berem: Doesn't matter if he is 56 years or the president. I know of some men older than him who can drink a crate of guilder or star and dem go stand gidigba! Maybe Presido is not the drinking type but just had to drink during his birthday. Of course he is the drinking type! Jonathan is an accomplished Ogogoro drinker, maybe he is not used to the refined alcoholic beverages served in London. 5 Likes |

berem: So many hypocrites on this thread. Is there anyone of you who does not drink to stupor? Its his birthday for phuck sake!! He needs to shayo and have fun with girls. Abeg make una free the man joor! I love men who drink. Most men love a drink or 2, but drinking till it leads to hospitalization is not only irresponsible but pathetic; also consider that we are not talking about a young man here - he is 56 years old and he is the president of Nigeria. 5 Likes |

This useless man is just disgracing Nigeria everywhere he goes. Is it mandatory that he drinks himself to stupor? After decimating his biological system by consuming copious amount of Ogogoro- he lands in Hospital. What a shame! 10 Likes |
Politics / Re: Your Wish On President Jonathan's Birthday by Italiano1: 10:18pm On Nov 20, 2013 |
GEJ has added another year in prosperity, 24 hours electricity, no disruption to his children's education, abundant food for shepopotamus to test the elasticity of her ever expanding waist. Yet the people he presides over live in abject poverty, are in constant darkness, and their children's education in limbo for the last 5 months. I will implore Mr Jonathan to take this day to reflect on his abysmal performance as a President after he promised his so called "Fresh Air" . Happy Birthday to GEJ but as far as Nigeria is concerned, he has nothing to celebrate- he should hide his head in shame! 4 Likes |

Politics / Re: Olumuyiwa Aliu Elected As ICAO President by Italiano1: 9:38pm On Nov 20, 2013 |
Sincere 9gerian: Who is Dr Olumuyiwa Benard Aliu? I am sure 98% of Nlanders who opened this thread dont know him. Would he have had any opportunity to contest for the post of President of the ICAO if GEJ did not nominate him? Would GEJ have nominated him without the input of the minister of aviation? Besides the issue of nomination, what about the roles played by the president, ministry of foreign affairs, ministry of aviation, etc in the election of Dr Olumuyiwa Benard Aliu as President of the ICAO? Flawed arguement! Who was GEJ before 2001? Who knew him? 98% of NLders never knew him before he became the VP of Nigeria and if not because of the relentless efforts by honorable Nigerians like Professor Oluwole Soyinka, he would have remained inconsequential; remember that GEJ cowardly and sheepishly kowtowed to the former first lady even after it was clear that Yaradua was no longer able to lead the country. Most people that work in the Aviation sector know him, he has a PhD in Aeronautics, he has worked in the Federal Ministry of Aviation, FCAA and NCAA since 1988 (25 years experience). He has headed several committees in the same organisation (ICAO) where he is now head since 2005- which means members of the organisation are very familiar with, recognise and attest to his competency for the position. His position is not a political appointment like that of the Minister of Aviation in Nigeria, a position where any riffraff can occupy depending on their political association coupled with their propensity to embezzle and audaciously misappropriate public funds. Dr Olumuyiwa deserves his appointment based on his experience and qualifications in the sector and no amount of political interpretations mainly based on sycophancy can debase that fact. 6 Likes |

Kcwarren: There is a big revolt going on in Alaba International Market now over what the traders term bad leadership by their Excutive Chairman of FANCY AND FUNITURE DISTRIBUTORS ASSOCIATION(FFDA) section Mr NWABU OKOROAFOR (AHBU VENTURES). The traders together with the elected officers of the association have passed vote of no confidence on the Chairman. You should go and report yourselves to the Babaloja of the market who can adjudicate on your dispute. |

These revelations should not come as a surprise to anyone. Goodluck Jonathan is a committed criminal and a resolute fraudster; he encourages corruption and facilitates the embezzlement of Nigeria's public funds. His primary objective as President is to enrich himself and ensure that Shepopotamus's waistline continues to enlarge at a geometric rate. Nigeria deserves a better President- let us kick this incompetent criminal out of office in 2015. 1 Like |
