Romance › Re: Ladies! Do You Prefer A Struggling Man Or An Already-made Man? See Replies by ivolt: 9:03am On Jun 08, 2017 |
CreamyMoltenLar: You have a point, but the truth is that many career women remain single because they prefer to be involved with 'senior men', most of whom are already married. Sure, some of them are pompous because they've 'made it', but its their insistence on going for men they can 'gain' from that causes them to remain single. For instance, most ladies in my office would rather go after the 'ogas' than their mates. There's a primal urge encoded in your genes to mate with virile men, only over the years virility has transformed from raw physical strength to power and authority, which goes hand in hand with wealth and position. These days whenever people say I need a wife when they see me doing house chores, I ask them if they mean house girl. If I can disdain society's dogmatic belief that women are glorified house girls, you can stop seeing men as a means to escape penury. There's nothing wrong in getting a job and marrying a man that isn't ten times richer than you. Women going for men of higher status is also a symptom of our ultra-patriachal society. It is not just about the "gain", it is also about being fairly judged by society. For a man with equal or lower financial status, almost every disagreement in their union is seen in the light of wealth or fame, where the woman will be accused of trying to wear the trousers in the home just because she is wealthy. There was a thread about Omotola's husband going to get foodstuff in the market, if only you see the vituperations poured on her for turning her husband to "houseboy", some vowed never to have anything to do with independent women, some even suggested that the husband is a disgrace and is not man enough to be married. Such comments will never have come up if the man was of higher status, in that case, people will tag him as being romantic. So women hedging there bet with a man of higher status is a smart strategy since majority of men aren't too comfortable with equal or higher status women, as Nigerian men change their views of marriage from a "Master-servant" relationship to a cooperative partnership, the rate of independent women going for "senior men" will decrease. |

No one should ever apply to any private university with incompetent administrators. What is the use of spending huge money only to get a poorer service than government- owned universities ?
@OP, you can't report a private school to NUC over their fees, try to separate legitimate concerns from sentimental ones. |

CreamyMoltenLar: Interesting topic. I think guys should also be concerned about the caliber of lady they'll like to end up with. These days its better to spend the rest of your life with somebody that can significantly complement you financially. Personally I've always said I'd never consider a lady that can't at least meet me 40% of the way, because I have so many projects lined up and our contributions will be 60-40. So the question isn't really what type of guy you 'prefer' its what kind of guy you meet up to. There's nothing wrong with being unemployed or earning peanuts and praying for a rich man to give you a life sha. You can either beat your chest with pride and say you want a man you can complement significantly or you humbly beg for a made man to rescue you from poverty. Your own worth should determine your taste in men. Though TBH I personally don't respect girls that think because they're fine they should get a made man, I only respect women that work hard to make an honest living, instead of leeching off their daddies and sugar daddies/yahoo boyfriends. uyiekpenn: I can't date or even marry a woman who's not financially stable herself. If I'm earning 1m naira per month, my wife must be earning nothing less than 500-800k per month. No girl wants a struggling man but they forget that even the already made man was once a struggling man too. Guys with this mentality are actually less than 5% of Nigerian men, so the girls are in safe hands. Women didn't just wake up one morning and feel entitled to already made men, they are simply responding to the message being sent by men themselves. The truth is women who pursue financial independence are less successful in getting married, this is because they are assumed to be disrespectful, arrogant and too busy to build a home. So you won't blame ladies who focus on searching and waiting for the ready made man, it is what society celebrates and reward. |

Jarus: Why does such penis captivus always happen to cheating married people? Not singles mating. Not couples. It doesn't always happen to cheating married people alone it is just that married couple getting stuck doesn't make the news and they will get sympathy rather than ridicule from the neighbours. But cheating partners getting stuck is a great news material. |

musicwriter: Science don't disprove something by rebuffing it on a computer. You need to provide a research paper showing these things don't happen and that this belief is ignorance. That's what the white people moving forward would've done to prove to everybody in African communities their truth is false.
Where's your research paper disproving these things?
When you do, I' am confident you'll discover there's a parallel truth long known by our African ancestors, running side-by-side with science, but that has never been researched. Science cannot explain everything, and it says so. I am sorry there is no way I can continue with this debate because it appears you are stuck with faith and it is pointless debating a faith. Where is the research paper showing that the rainbow is not a sign of the anger of gods? Where is the research paper showing that lightening and thunder is not the work of Sango or Amadioha? You see where am going ? If you cannot differentiate between observation, inference and conclusion, it clearly shows you don't understand the scientific method, your argument is best expressed in a class on mysticism not science. |

Ericnrm: Will you keep shut! Can you give any legitimate reason why they would find over a million dollars in someone's house? Why sympathize with criminals when they will still end up robbing us blind. Nigerians will be there giving themselves slow poison and they'll be the same ones blaming every single entity No one is sympathising with criminals, he has already been acquitted, thanks to the incompetent prosecutor who reason like you do. It might be too complicated for you to understand, the EFCC are to prove that the money was illegally acquired, if they can't they lose in court. |

serikigoro: What other advance democracies did on time to survive and provide for the welfare and well being of their people was to weed out criminals like justice Ademola by every means possible. You sit there talking law and evidence crap, When corruption has almost consumed every fabric of our society. Even if the evidence were brought from heaven the corrupt judiciary that is bent on sabotaging the system to set one of its own free will still claim" lack of evidence" BS.
The battle against corruption, just like the war against gangs in the 60s, 70s in America and the war against the mafia in Italy can NEVER be fought conventionally. There will be need to take care of the criminals and sympathizers like you unconventionally if we want to win this war.
Also find out from Hong Kong how they dealt with the issue of endemic corruption and organised crime. Like I said earlier it is better to have a thousand corrupt politician than one corrupt judge. So you know how many toxic judges we need to take out now. You saw the Dino and the judge asking for the money be paid in USD. You are just ranting with no direction. Only fools think revolution is about killing and replacing leaders. Real revolution is about ousting and replacing them with betterleaders with better ideas and judging from your post you obviously don't qualify as one since you stand for nothing but chaos. Get a real history book on how nations progress and stop relying on over-simplistic world view being peddled around by simpletons. The basic truth is that there is no shortcut to progress. Again, your point and lynch mentality has no place in a civilised society, perhaps you can move to a jungle. |

serikigoro: The judiciary has been the bastion of corruption for a long time, the safe haven for corrupt politicians. Since Kastina Alu became CJN the judiciary has gone to the dogs. A judge has over a million US dollars in his house yet the court threw out the case for lack of evidence. Well the real solution to Nigeria's corruption problem is a violent revolution. The Judiciary has now joined the executive and the legislature in protecting " their own". How much is the judges salaray what business is he engaged in that he made a million dollars from it. It is only in Banana Republic Nigeria that a judge standing trail for corruption will return back to the bench to dispense "justice". Judges own several houses in Maitama, Asokoro, Wuse2. These houses cost several hundreds of millions of naira where did they get the money. Well we all know. It is better to have a thousand corrupt politicians than one corrupt judge. You know nothing about how the law works. All your arguments are similar to those of uneducated lynch mobs who engage in jungle justice. Owning millions of dollar is not a crime, unless the prosecutor is able to prove that the money was illegally acquired. The burden of proof is on the prosecutor not the accused. |

Base your argument on economical advantage, then we can both discuss why we don't want them around otherwise like I said earlier, we are more evil Economic Advantage ?? Only those who are alive or live in peace talk about economic advantage, dead people don't earn money. Please speak for yourself,I understand why you may feel you are evil, anyone who justifies terror attack is plain evil even if the terrorists are your brothers. You didn't hear about terror attacks in morocco because you chose not to. Thousands of your blood-thirsty brothers have joined ISIS since its inception including those from your darling morocco; Check the numbers here: http://www.citylab.com/politics/2016/08/foreign-fighters-isis/493622/It's crystal clear you type with hate, You make an hate speech against my brother , the mob lynch him, I raise my voice against you, I raise my voice against you, You seek mass Sympathy, Tell me who is playing victim here? People don't lynch terrorists, terrorists barbecue people. You appear agitated like a child who just lost his toy and you are gradually showing your true colours of extreme instability and anger, I bet you won't hesitate to use sword on me if we are to meet in real life. I know it is not your fault, you were never given a chance to experience life without hatred of "infidels". Your brother are doing a pretty good job of making the world a dangerous place. |

Mightyraw: Now you play the victim game, read through my posts and see who has terrorist potential, We don't have to for enmity over this, You just need to change the way you think Victim ? Sorry, I am not a sissy who cowers because terrorists or their sympathisers make subtle or overt threats. I personally consider people with victim mentality as weak and lacking motivation. Dancing around a problem instead of facing it head-on is a sign of cowardice which I detest. My point is clear, we don't want Moroccan terrorists moving freely in West Africa, we have the local ones already making life a living hell for us. And it is shocking that you considered terror attacks as a justifiable response to "hate speech". France and the UK have paid and are still paying dearly for being too soft and apologetic about the obvious link between terror attacks and country of origin. |

Indeed in the Messenger of Allah (Muhammad) you have a good example to follow for him who hopes in (the Meeting with) Allah and the Last Day and remembers Allah much. Quran 33:21 We are aware of muhammad marriage to a 6 year old Aisha, so we can conclude that Edet’s role model is no one but muhammad. |

Mightyraw: terrorism isn't just about killing to prove a point, When you utter hate statement which can incite terrorists attack, you are not less of a terrorist If you believe that a statement uttered by someone is enough justification for terrorism, then you are worse than ISIS members. While ISIS members are unapologetic about their aims, you hide yours and strike when no one is watching, then you justify the act as a revenge for a speech you don't like. I have always theorised that one of the reasons terrorist don't feel remorse is that they have an unwavering support from the moderates who edge them on by justifying the act and at the same time, claim to have nothing to do with the terrorists. |
