When we tell some people that local production by itself have little effect on price of some goods. They will never agree. If not for the border closure, foreign rice would have been cheaper than local ones. Cement price did not go down due to local production but they blame Dangote's monopoly even though it is not really a monopoly. Is there also a local rice monopoly? There is only one way to bring down the price of goods, reduce production cost when possible. |
So France "slaves" using Cfa have a stronger currency than Naira? |
IjebuWarrior:Yet, Abacha accumulated more wealth than all its civilian predecessors and successors combined. I think our main problem is poor education, that is why an illiterate will promise to fight corruption and majority will queue behind him without asking questions. |
freeborn02:Since you have decided to be useless with your life. There is nothing anyone can do to help you. But remember, as every day goes by, you grow older in failure. It will be a shame that by the time you hit 50, the only thing you will be able to point at is seeking attentions of strangers online. I really hope you don't have parents because I really pity them for wasting their investment. Imagine waiting on this thing in their old age. Isn't it better to be childless. |
freeborn02:Never ever mention me again. Go play with your fellow immature kids. |
1. Since you put "if", it shouldn't have been there at all. So no response to this. 2. It is not an Ecowas vs Niger war. It is Ecowas vs coup plotters. This is not the first time Ecowas is removing head of states that have local support. 3. Failure to act will guarantee a civil war in the near future. Also, there will be permanent arm sanction against the junta which will weaken it in its fight with various jihadist and rebel groups. More arms will flow into Nigeria I think the lack of political knowledge about Niger Republic is leading to erroneous conclusion your part. Rise of ISIS was a protest against the Shiite government of Iraq. ISIS got destroyed when a political settlement was reached. Sudan is currently fighting a civil war despite no action against the coup plotters. 4. US mission in Afghanistan is to punish the entrenched Taliban government, occupy the country, and "civilise" the populace. In short, it was an ideological war. Ecowas mission is to simply remove coup plotters who have been in power for days and replace them with civilian government which have been in power for years. You are confusing regular army with ideological warlords. When Niger capital falls, all the national army will pledge their allegiance to the new Chief of Army Staff. |
All these beggars. What's the business of US and France in a regional resolution? Many of you kids think Niger is about France. Go and figure out why Burkina Faso and Mali are publicly supporting Niger. Perhaps, you will understand other Ecowas members position. |
DrGoodman:There is no such person. I don't expect you to agree as some aspects of Economics are complicated or counterintuitive. No matter how smart you are, you can neither fight nor beat market principles. You know it, but will just be arguing foe the sake of arguing. Why will I argue for argument sake? The difference between us is that I don't believe in magic. In my world, actions have consequence. |
DrGoodman:Stop being fooled by politicians. There is no way to do it right. There is no magic anywhere. Even if you increase workers salary, majority of Nigerians aren't government workers. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that when you remove subsidy, the price of everything goes up. |
brain54:Boko haram don't have uniform! |
At the point you are ready for a civil war or anarchy. |
Chinjo2:So what are you going to do about it? |
What kind of question is this? This is like asking what a worker benefits from being sacked. When all the top candidates promised to remove subsidy during campaign, Nigerians pretended like they didn't hear. Some supported it and the media also championed it as fight against "corruption". When subsidy was removed, they call it bravery. It is too late to cry now. Even if there is a new election, most people will likely vote for a candidate that promises to hike petrol price as long as they "corruption". |
Fake news. |
After meeting me at Chevron lekki,he started the work which is security workThis isn't about tribalism but stupidity/carelessness. You hired someone you know nothing about and even more worrying is that you took food from him probably because it is free. |
IjebuWarrior:So, the military don't like money? |
What makes the allowance bogus? This is what they have been receiving for years without announcing it. |
SmartPolician:When will you guys stop fixating about projects? BTW, the "people" don't love the military. They love the military or civilian who belong to their ethnic group. |
Abifarin16:Stop spreading misinformation. Niger Republic is already damming the river before the coup since 2019. Now the construction have been stopped due to sanctions. |
I suppose the intervention in Liberia and Sierra leone was also a "betrayal". |
EcoNews:Were you forced to buy DSTV? Why didn't didn't see Startimes or TSTV which are much cheaper to buy? |
Cromagnon:How does executing an unarmed man sound to you? |
That is the only move left for DSTV. You cannot force a private company to sell its services at your preferred price. If the price is not favorable, then the company will pack up. |
GodHatesBigots:Another product of failed parenting. You will remain useless for life if you keep seeking attention from strangers online. |
millionboi2:They won't, they just announced a new cabinet. |
Since no date or detail is given. I take this as more psychological pressure on the usurpers. Wagner slaves, start crying 1,2,3.... |
Coward brainless thugs in uniform. Kill him and throw the country into civil war. |
BLACKPRIEST:This thread is a misinformation thread aim to arrogate some leverage to the junta which they don't have. My response merely demonstrate that damning the river predates any move of the coup plotter. Let me make it simpler for you. This is just like threatening to jail someone who is already serving a life sentence. Does it make sense to you to start nitpicking about whether the person has spent 2 years or 4 years in jail? All things being equal, Niger will not stop constructing the dam, coup or no coup. If Nigeria really don't want the damn constructed, there are subversive methods to halt the project indefinitely. Next time, read to understand so you don't embarrass yourself. BTW, you are not special! |
Says the western slave who cries to the same west on every national issue. Have some dignity and stay in one side. If you are anti-west stop begging the west to interfere on local issues. |
Excuses and Excuses. Even the "16 years of PDP" excuse eventually expired. These ones took power with zero plans on how to run the government Instead of the coupists to expel French troops immediately, they kept them around so they can be blamed for anything that goes wrong. They should have learnt from Mali, that excuses don't work forever. I won't be surprised if they blame France for lack of rain in Niger. Very soon, Nigeriens will get tired of blaming France for everything and realise that the buffoon in military uniform have nothing to offer. |
Pastor 5G causes coronavirus but he ended up buying a Samsung 5G phones. Bloody liar. |
HNICEARTH:I am not surprised because like most people, you have no idea how economies work. Whatever you can't see doesn't exist! |
