ubest1: Go school u refuses, so u need technicality to identify fake certificate You think technicalities means loophole or illegality. Let me school you. If a court frees an armed robber because he was tortured in police custody, that is technicality because the issue is about armed robbery and not torture. Any ruling of an election tribunal that is not based on the total number of votes is technicality. Now that you have learned something today, I hope you don't jump into discussion you don't understand next time. |

Una nor go law school, una go open mouth waaaa and spew rubbish. Was the constitution silent on these crimes when it's power is invoked with respect to determining wether or not such a person is eligible to contest for President? Stop exhibiting your ignorance in public space... It's sad! Another illiterate. Election petition tribunal is about election results. Should the presidential tribunal ignore all technicalities, there is no case at all and Tinubu elections stands. For those that don't know, fake cert, double nominations. drug forfeiture are all technicalities. In fact, any issue outside the election results fall under technicalities. This is what you get when you hire illiterates for propaganda purpose. |

There is no such thing as diplomatic solution to the issue of coup. You either oppose it or allow the Junta be. No soldier will risk his life to steal power and then throw it away because of "diplomacy". Diplomatic solution = Forget the coup , it is none of your business. |

flokii: Hmmn.. I understand all you've said perfectly.
Asides mental slavery, blacks in Africa are mentally lazy. Like you rightly said, no country will hand down free knowledge to Africans but even at that, the past colonialists shouldn't go about playing Devil's advocate, sponsoring coup d'etat and whatnot to destabilize the African continent.
I hope blacks will one day rise and reason collectively to say NO we've had enough of slavery. Non-interference in leadership is essential but no one can enforce such, it can only be resisted pragmatically otherwise a country will be running from one entity only to end up as another's vassal. What we need is full stability economic, security and political so that whoever ends up in power cannot truncate long-term developmental plans because it is not possible to achieve technological leadership in the short-term. |

etrange: Lol... so would it be wrong if he had said "humans". They told the guy that said "science student got nothing to do with this" that science student is an umbrella term that describes OP's specific audience (people studying science courses), and your counter is to bring up a larger umbrella term that does not specifically describe the target audience?
The first commenter didn't ask the OP to narrow it down to civil engineers. He categorically said science students got nothing to do with this, which is wrong. So I don't see how your response invalidates the correction. Even if the OP had said "humans", it would still be OK only that it would enlarge the audience. But telling him that it wasn't okay to say "science students" is wrong, and that was just the correction the person you quoted was making. Do humans have anything to do with road construction? If yes, then we can ask humans too. You cannot reinterpret the OP's question based on context while taking the respondent's own literally. I don't accept your definition of science students because the normal usage in our society covers students in secondary schools who may or may not further or change discipline later. This is like asking: Hey science students, my heart is beating so fast after eating rabbit and my fingernails are turning yellow too. What could be the cause and do I need to worry? We all know the right people to ask! |

AFTER NIGER COUP: Please don't invade Niger, I am begging. Nigeria will break if you invade Niger. Invading Niger will be the end of this country. Don't push our country to war(no more zoo). Wagner will kill you. If you invade, there will be coup to remove you. You are foolish for wanting to invade, don't you know it will get you removed from the presidency? flokii: Do you remember Adesina of AfDB?.. he was unjustly persecuted for speaking the truth that Africa with all the resources should be the manufacturing hub of the world and not the dump site for all sorts of products from coumtries overseas. It's okay to do fair business with Europe but it's far better for Africans to think "production" instead of "consumption". You didn't answer my question. Should Africa keep its resources to itself? Talking about dumpsite, Adesina should have listed the products he considered to be dump. Aside from high tech goods, automobile and arms, China and India has taken every other sector of Africa's imports. It is easy to talk but to act is very hard to act. Nations do not become manufacturing hub through talk and activism, they do it by acquiring knowledge and having the right infrastructure. Suppose you are on the other side(the west) and you have the power to grant wishes. Are you going to say, Okay, since their is poverty in this content and I buy oil and Uranium from them. Let me give them all the knowledge and tools to make Boeing Airplanes to compensate. Countries that become manufacturing hub didn't do so by talking or demanding for "rights". Currently, a lot of manufacturing is being moved from China to Vietnam by western investors. Is it because the west love Vietnam? Absolutely not. This is a country that is a one-party dictatorial state, whose majority population does not speak any of European languages. It is because of what Vietnam have to offer, technical-know-how, infrastructure and political stability. Barring any unforeseen change, In few decades, people will be talking about Vietnamese economic miracle, just like that of China. Look at South Korea, a country much poorer than Nigeria in the 50s and 60s, now a global manufacturing hub. Did the west hand it a manual for tech progress? Nope. They got where they are through planning actions. I just cringe whenever I see African leaders complaining about the west not caring or exploiting. Africans aren't children to be looked after by others! |

There is something wrong with some of the forum actions. A user will post unverified news on Nairaland and it will be ignored. If the same user add a twitter source to the "news", the mod quickly pushes it to frontpage as if Twitter is a news organization. Is it not the same Twitter where anyone can register under any name and post whatever they want? |
